Time Period: A Flashback to a few hours earlier
Scene: A Hospital Delivery Room
Event: Lucky's birth
A nurse (listening to Lucky's declining heartbeat): The baby's heartbeat is in distress. Something is wrong.
The doctor (to the nurse): I thank you for informing me. The baby must be stuck in the birth canal.
Lucas and Peyton (worried): Stuck?!
The Doctor: Absolutely
Lucas (rubbing Peyton's stomach): How are you feeling right now, honey?
Peyton (experiencing painful contractions and an irresistible urge to push): I can't move right now. The contractions are coming really fast. The baby is super close. Can I still push her out?
The doctor: The baby is stuck, but I am sure you can push her out.
Peyton (feeling uncomfortable but trying to relax): What is the next step then?
The doctor (reaching for forceps): I am going to use forceps
Peyton: By whatever means necessary, please save my baby.
Lucas (touching Peyton's cheek): Are you sure about the forceps?
Peyton: Definitely
The doctor (inserting the forceps deep inside Peyton): Just breathe and relax
Peyton (crying and screaming out in pain): UGH...AHA...AHA
Lucas (sensitive to Peyton's pain and sorrow): Everything will be okay
Peyton (pushing hard against the forceps): GRR...AHA..AHA
A nurse (shifting the fetal heartbeat monitor on Peyton's round stomach): You got this, Peyton
Peyton (tired, she stops pushing briefly): I can't do this
Lucas (squeezing Peyton's hand): I believe you can do this
Peyton (actively and desperately trying to push out the baby): AHA...AHA...AHA...AHA...
The Doctor: Bear Down, Peyton, Push Harder. Use your contractions. They will help you to push out the baby.
Peyton (pushing along with her contractions): Hmmm..
