What's this? Another chapter? It's more likely than you think.

"...Izuku's first shot…" -Cassidy

Aizawa sighed. He hated going to the doctor's office.

The waiting room was decently empty - as per usual, a hero hospital is usually most busy in the emergency room - and Izuku had taken to trying to sprint away from Aizawa at any given opportunity. After the fourth time of doing so, Aizawa simply left his capture weapon wrapped around the rapidly-growing toddler, letting it act like a leash.

A white-coat doctor exited one of the many doors leading to the branching halls of the hospital. She looked around, calling: "Aizawa Izuku?"

"Here," Aizawa waved towards Izuku, who was unhappily playing with a wire bead maze."Come, green bean."

"Nooooooo!" Izuku whined, clinging tightly to the bead maze. Aizawa paused halfway through scooping him up to pry his hands from the maze.

Izuku screeched. Aizawa nearly dropped him due to a particularly violent flail from the kid. The doctor, clearly used to this sort of behavior, smiled patiently from the door. Once Aizawa finally got Izuku under some semblance of control, he walked over to join her.

"Hello, Izuku," the doctor said kindly. "How are you doing today?"

Izuku glared.

The doctor chuckled. "Oh, that's an angry face! Why don't you just sit over here, darling, and everything will be over before you know it!"

Aizawa settled into a stiff-cushioned chair and placed Izuku onto his lap. The little bean sprout squirmed, one last desperate attempt to escape.

The doctor came back, concealing the needle behind her back. Quietly, she muttered, "You'll need to hold him still, alright?"

Aizawa nodded his affirmation, slipping his hand over Izuku's wrist as he did so.

"So tell me, Izuku," the doctor began, swiping a cool wipe over a patch of skin. "Do you like heroes?"

Izuku straightened. He looked over at the doctor, eyes mistrustful and hesitant. Dubiously, he answered with a small "Yeah."

"Oh, who's your favorite hero?"

"'Raserhead."

Aizawa grinned to himself.

"I don't think I've ever heard of them," the doctor said distractedly. "Why don't you tell me about them…?"

"He's my otou-san." Izuku mumbled.

"Oh?"

"His quirk makes him get rid of peopl- aAHHHHH!" Izuku cut himself off with a scream as the needle entered his skin. Aizawa gripped him tightly, keeping him from moving long enough for the doctor to finish the injection and remove the needle. Luckily, the process was quick, and Aizawa was able to let Izuku free soon enough.

"There we go," the doctor said kindly, placing a Hawks bandage over the tiny wound. "All done. You're so brave, Izuku-kun."

Izuku still wailed.

"You did good, bean sprout." Aizawa whispered, hugging the green bean tightly.

"Here," the doctor scooped up a roll of stickers from the counter. She unrolled it a few times, holding it out to show Izuku all of the choices. "Would you like a sticker?"

At this, Izuku stopped crying long enough to point to an All Might sticker. The doctor peeled it off and handed it to Izuku, who stuck it to his shirt with a sniff.

Aizawa stood, thanking the doctor. She nodded, then led them to the door.

"You did good as well, Aizawa-san." The doctor told him. She opened the door that led back to the waiting room. "Shots are hard for the parent, as well."

"It's for the best." Aizawa muttered.

The doctor nodded in agreement. "Have a nice day."

"You too."

As much as I hate needles, knowing what could happen if I moved and the needle breaks is enough to keep me still and get it over with.

I went to go get my COVID vaccine the other day, and the lady was all like "what nice relaxation technique you have! Okay, I'm going to do it now-" like, PLEASE stop.

I've only ever been in military hospitals, what with one of my parents being in the military and all. They're usually pretty empty. I have no idea what a civilian hospital is like, so I modelled the hero hospital off of the military one. It kind of makes sense, anyway.

Get your COVID vaccine, if you can!

Appreciate you all! ~BP
