Chapter 6: Desire
Sora was sitting on edge of Mimi's bed, stroking her hair softly. Mimi had pulled up a brave face until Jou left to Japan, and the first thing she did when she arrived back home was to lay on her bed face down and cry for hours. She felt so dirty and low for even thinking about another man when she had such an amazing one as her fiancé. When the sobs began to die down, Mimi finally lifted her head and sat down on her bed, still unable to make eye contact with anyone though.
"Are you feeling better now?" Sora removed her hand from Mimi's hair and looked at her. "I can make you some tea."
"Not really, but I'm going to. Thank you for coming over."
"You're welcome." The stylist smiled. "You know you can count on me for everything you need, right?"
"I do." Mimi finally looked at her. "Thank you, Sora. You're the best friend I could ever ask for."
"I'm glad to hear that. So… are you comfortable enough to open up now?"
"Not exactly, but I guess it's better to vent."
Sora sat behind Mimi and gently pulled her into her body, wrapping an arm around her and stroking her long brown hair with the other one. "Whenever you're ready. If you feel like this is too much for you, I'll understand."
Mimi took a deep breath and began telling her what happened.

In the following second, Mimi's lips touched his and he felt her free hand touch his face. Koushiro wrapped his arms around her as tight as he could, the moment he felt her tongue inside his mouth. He had a faint idea this was wrong, but he had wanted to kiss her for so long and now she was there in his arms. Finally.
No, it was wrong. It took Koushiro all of his strength to pull away from her, when all he really wanted was to keep feeling her taste in his mouth. He stared at her brown eyes so intensely that Mimi felt a cold rush running through all over her body. Her eye focus changed briefly when his hand brushed a lock of her hair away.
"I've dreamed about this since we first met some days ago."
"Then why did you stop?" Mimi made an attempt to pull him back towards her again.
"Because of this." Koushiro grabbed her hand and guided it to her field of view.
The emerald ring didn't go unnoticed by her, and she lowered her head in embarrassment. Tears began to fall from her eyes as reality hit her. She had cheated on her fiancé.
"Mimi…"
"You're right for pushing me away. I should have been the one to do so. I don't know what happened to me."
"You don't have to apologize. It takes two people to kiss. I'm as much to blame as you."
"I guess so. But…" Mimi searched his black eyes and gently touched his cheek. "I've dreamed about this since we first met too."
"Mimi, please." Koushiro tried to sound as firm as he could, but failed miserably.
"You said you have dreamed about this." She gave one step towards him. "Why can't we keep dreaming?"
"Because you…" He was cut off by her tongue inside his mouth. He quickly wrapped his arms around her and pulled her body as closer to his as he could.
Mimi wrapped one arm around his neck and the other one ran through his thigh, and over his dick along the way. She smiled into his mouth after measuring its length and Koushiro felt it starting to get hard between his legs. Then she began to guide him backwards until he was pinned against his car. Koushiro didn't know where he found the strength to push her away. Mimi tried to lean over one more time, but gave up.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize. We're both at fault here." Koushiro reassured her. "But this isn't fair to any of us."
"I know."
"I want to be with you, Mimi." He admitted, looking at her. "But not like this. So if you want the same, you know what to do." He began to walk away, without looking back.

"My life is over!" Mimi covered her face with her hands and started crying again.
"Don't be so melodramatic, Mimi. Even if you two kissing being wrong, he did the right thing. It wouldn't be fair to Jou."
"Yes, I know. And I agree with him."
"So what are you going to do now? You need to be honest with Jou, and most importantly, to yourself."
"I don't know, Sora. I feel so dirty. I should have listened to you before I came this far."
"So you felt a strong desire for another man rather than Jou. These things happen, you shouldn't feel dirty for this feeling. That doesn't justify the way you handled everything, however."
"Sora, I think I want to be with both of them." Mimi stood up and looked at her friend.
"With both of them?" Sora repeated with her eyebrows raised. "I hardly think they would agree with this. In fact, Jou wouldn't at all. I don't know how this Koushiro guy would feel about this."
"Yeah, you probably have a point."
"Will you be okay though?" The red haired woman stood up. "There's something I need to talk to Yamato."
"I'll be fine, don't worry."
"Okay. If you need anything, I'm just one phone call away."
"Thank you, Sora. You are an amazing friend."
"You're welcome, Mimi." Sora smiled at her. "You can count on me whenever you need."

Koushiro was lying on his bed looking at the ceiling. The apartment was strangely quiet without Taichi's presence, he had to admit. He would freak out after knowing he and Mimi had kissed a few hours ago. Koushiro smiled at the fact, even though he knew it was wrong in so many ways. Still, he couldn't get the taste of her cherry lipstick out of his mouth and couldn't stop thinking she was damn good kisser. He found himself grinning foolishly at the thought. However, his heart was heavy too. Koushiro didn't like the idea how doing it behind one's back, especially a fiancé. As much as he wanted to be with Mimi and hopefully become her boyfriend, he wanted to do the right thing. Of course, that seems hypocritical now. They were already off to a bad start. Things were so much simpler back when they were completely strangers. Koushiro immediately pushed that thought away of his mind. If he hadn't met Mimi, he wouldn't know what it was like to be in love. He thought he was in love with Natsuki, but it was nothing like the feeling he was experiencing at the moment. The saying 'Life loves to play tricks sometimes' has never made more sense to him than now. Koushiro was so into his thoughts that he nearly fell from his bed when Taichi's voice echoed in the room.
"Geez, Taichi, you scared the hell of me!"
"Sorry, buddy." He grinned. "You were daydreaming and I'm pretty sure you were drooling."
"Yeah, well…" Koushiro sat down and could barely hold his smile.
"So…" Taichi walked to his friend's bed and sat on the edge of it. "Did you give Mimi's engagement ring back to her?"
"I did. She thanked me and that was it."
"That was it?" The brunette had a suspicious look on his face. "Then why are you smiling like that?"
"Smiling? Who's smiling?"
"Cynical." Taichi said playfully and then threw a pillow towards him. "So what really happened?"
"Okay, she kissed me."
"Whoa, what?!" He stood up, nearly screaming. "She kissed you?"
"Yeah. Twice."
"What? You kissed her back, right?"
"What kind of question is this? Of course I did."
"You were so hesitant about it, I wouldn't be surprised if you turned away."
"However…"
"I knew it was too good to be true." Taichi pressed his palm against his forehead. "However what?"
"I did break away both times."
"Are you crazy? Why would you do that?"
"Because she's engaged, Taichi. This is wrong."
"Yet you kissed her twice. That doesn't sound like much of a concern to me. Anyway, tell me…"
"Yes, she is a good kisser, Taichi." Koushiro cut him off, knowing exactly what he was going to ask him. "In fact, she's an amazing kisser. We would end up advancing much more if I didn't stop her."
Taichi had a mischievous expression in his face and was barely able to hold the grin on his lips. "So she wanted you to fuck her over?"
"Please stop using the word fuck, it's so inappropriate in some situations." Koushiro begged. "But yeah, she wanted me to."
"This turned out better than I expected. Go on."
"She checked out my dick."
"Interesting. With her eyes?" Taichi's gaze darted towards down his friend's body.
"No! I don't even know why I'm telling you all of this. It's personal." Koushiro felt his face burn in embarrassment.
"Dude, you used to share much more with me when you were dating Natsuki. I don't get why you're suddenly so embarrassed by it now."
"The situations are different."
"Only because she's famous? She's still a human being." He sat on the bed again. "So, if she didn't check your dick with her eyes, she measured it. Right?"
"Right." Koushiro confessed. "And she was pretty satisfied with it, I must say."
"Ohhh sassy!" Taichi said suggestively and winked at him. "You're going to see her again, I hope."
"I'm not. The kissing was great and all, but she's engaged. It's still wrong. I don't want to be involved into this mess."
"I hate to break it to you, but you got involved in this when you stopped to help her weeks ago."
"I still don't want to be a third wheel in their relationship or even worse, break them up."
"Oh come on, man. You can't be serious."
"Would you want to be in this situation?"
"Well, no. But…"
"Neither would I, Taichi. So can we please stop it?"
"Alright, you have a point. By the way, my mother sent you some temakis, since you love it so much."
"Really? Where are they?"
"I left them on the kitchen table."
"Great. I could have some of them now." Koushiro jumped out of his bed and headed to the kitchen.

Sora walked out of the bathroom after taking shower. She was drying her hair with a towel when she entered her bedroom. Through her mirror, she could see a frowned Yamato holding a book in his hands.
"What are you reading?"
"I don't know, you tell me." He replied harshly.
"Huh? You're the one holding a book." Sora sat down beside him and glanced at the book cover. Her eyes immediately went wide. "Were you going through my drawers again?"
"That's not the point." Yamato turned to her with his arms folded in front of his chest. "You're reading a book called 'An Easy Manual for Newly Moms'. I find it weird because as far as I remember, you didn't want to be one."
"That's true, but…" She put a lock of her hair behind her ear. "I might be considering it now. I was going to talk about this to you, but you beat me up to it."
"Go on."
"This is the part where you actually say something."
"I'm not sure if I even have something to say."
"Are you serious?" Sora stood on her knees and started massaging his shoulders. "How about you saying you want it too and we should start trying?"
"You think this is a joke?" Yamato stood up, walking away from her.
"I cannot believe you're mad because of a book you found within my things."
"It's not because of the stupid fucking book!" He shouted. "It's because you refusing when I wanted."
"Okay, now you're being incredibly childish. I know you've wanted this for quite a while but let's remember something very important here: It's my body! I am the one who has to carry a baby for nine fucking months! So yeah, I'm allowed to say no when I don't feel ready or don't want to and you need to accept this. I wanted to talk to you in a mature way, but if you're gonna be this bitchy about it in the future, we better not even try it." Sora had her arms folded and now had a frowned expression on her face. She leaned against the bed behind her and looked intensely at her fiancé. "I thought you'd at least be happy about it, but I guess I was wrong."
"I am happy. You know I've always wanted to be a father." Yamato walked back to the bed and sat down beside Sora. "I know my reaction was exaggerated and unnecessary."
"You were pretty childish, yeah." She stared at him; her eyes full of hurt and disappointment. "I think you should go home tonight."
"Sora…"
"Please, Yamato. I'm serious. I can't look at you right now. Anything both of us say here can hurt a lot. So let's cool our heads before we end up saying something we won't be able to take back."
"Yeah, you're right." Yamato walked out of the bedroom and grabbed his black jeans jacket before leaving the apartment.
Sora waited some minutes to make sure he wasn't coming back and then sighed. She was relieved he didn't go into the bathroom on his way out, otherwise things would get uglier. She picked up the towel from a chair and went to hang it on the bathroom. She glanced at the stick still placed on the sink before holding it on her hand. She couldn't stop staring at the two lines on it. She tried to remember a time where they had sex and didn't use protection. Maybe that time in her office? Sora shrugged. Only a blood test would tell her exactly. She now feared Yamato's reaction when she told him they were going to be parents.
"What do I do now?" Sora began to panic and had to breathe deeply. "Okay, Sora. Take deep breaths, you can do this. You're gonna be an amazing mother and Yamato is going to be a great father. There's no need to worry."
In an impulse, she quickly grabbed her cellphone and sent a quick message to someone. She then stove it inside her purse, along with her keys. She combed her hair with her fingers and checked herself out in the mirror quickly before heading out of her apartment. When she opened the door, she almost fell to the floor with shock and surprise.
"Yamato? Why are you sitting on the floor in front of my door?"

Hikari looked up at the building for what it seemed like the millionth time. She was beginning to feel nervous having to wait so long. She didn't even know why she had come there in the first place. She had never met a guy on a dating app, let alone having to pick him up for a first date. Who would even give their address to someone they never met before though? Maybe it was a mistake and he was just playing with her. Still, she decided to stay until she finished her ice-cream, which didn't take her long. She glanced up once again after cleaning her dirty palms and the tip of her fingers. More questions came into her mind. What if he wasn't like his pictures? What if he used someone else's photo and was in fact an old man? Hikari decided she had had enough, she was going home. She turned around and started walking away, focused on keeping her light yellow dress from going up because of the sudden breeze that hit her and she bumped into someone tall.
"Oh God, I'm so sorry!" Hikari looked up and blushed immediately. What were the chances?
"Did I make you wait long?"
"No, not really." She tried to smile to hide her shock. "I've just arrived."
"Oh good. I feel very nervous on first dates and I can't choose good clothes to wear, so I often take hours to decide." The man gave an awkward laugh. "But I probably shouldn't be telling you this right away. Another fact about me: when I get nervous I keep rambling and saying stupid things."
"It's okay. I think it's cute." Hikari was beyond thankful he wasn't any different from the pictures. In fact, she found him more handsome in person. She was pretty sure that fact made her blush even more. She hated not being able to hold emotions sometimes. "I'm Hikari Yagami, by the way."
"It's a nice name." The blonde flashed a smile at her. "Takeru. Takeru Takaishi."
