Attacked-Ch 5
After returning from the cafeteria the family only had to wait a few minutes before a nurse walked over to them and said, "my name is Anita and Grace wanted me to take you to Penelope's room". Derek smiled and said, "thank you" as they then followed Anita down the hall that led to the private room they had set up for Penelope.
When they stopped outside the door Anita said, "don't be alarmed when you go in there, she's hooked up to the ventillator, heart monitor and she has several IV's right now". Reid said, "how is she doing"?, Anita said, "she's stable, critical but stable", they then watched as she pushed the door open and stepped inside.
They slowly followed her inside and walked over to the bed, when they got to her bedside the first thing they heard was the swishing sound of the ventillator and the beeping of the heart monitor. They looked down at her and she looked so pale, so fragile and it broke their hearts to see her laying in that bed looking so lifeless.
Anita said, "you can stay as long as you like and if you need anything or their are any changes please let us know", JJ said, "thank you Anita" and the younger woman smiled and said, "you're very welcome" and then turned around and walked out of the room leaving them alone with Penelope.
Derek sat down beside her bed and instantly took her hand gently into his, he raised it to his lips and kissed it and said, "you are a fighter so I need you to keep fighting and I need you to come back to me, come back to me so that I can tell you how much I love you and how much you mean to me".
Fran and the others stood watching and listening as he talked to her, it was obvious to anybody that looked at him that he was head over heels in love with Penelope. JJ stood at her feet and said, "Henry and Jack miss you, they love their aunt P and can't wait for you to get better so that they can come and see you".
Emily said, "Jack wants to read you a bedtime story, he said that it will help you rest while your sick", Fran said, "we're all here for you honey, we love you and want you to fight to come back to us". Dave said, "that's right kitten, we know that you are tired and that you hurt but we know what a fighter you can be so don't give up, fight to come back to us".
Hotch said, "Garcia, you are the heart of this team and without you we are all lost, we need your light, your guidance, we need our all seeing all knowing oracle to come back to us". Reid grinned and said, "we need you Garcia, we miss you and we want you to come back to us and just know that we will be here when you wake up and we'll do whatever we can to help you".
Derek said, "do you hear us baby girl, we all love you and want you to come back to us, it's lonely here without you, I miss my good morning hotstuffs, my what's happenin angel fish, my how's it hanging sexual chocolate". Everybody laughed and Derek said, "see we all miss you and want you to come back so please please keep fighting and know that we are here for you now and we will always be here for you".
Hotch's cell started ringing, he pulled it from his belt and walked to the other side of the room, Emily watched as he turned his back to everybody and continued his conversation. The conversation lasted a few minutes before he put his cell back on his belt and then walked back over to rejoin the others at Penelope's bedside where he said, "that was the lead detective in the case".
Derek said, "were they able to find out anything"?, Hotch said, "they have pulled up survelience footage of the surrounding area and are going to send it to us in a few minutes so we need to head back to the BAU for a little while". Derek nodded his head and then Dave said, "Derek you and Fran stay here with kitten and the rest of us are going head back for a little while but if anything changes" and Fran said, "don't worry if anything changes we'll let you know".
Everybody said their goodbyes to Derek, Fran and Penelope before making their way out of the room, once they were out of earshot of her room Reid said, "what else did he tell you"?, Hotch said, "he said that from what they were able to find from Garcia's apartment the rapist was already inside her apartment when she got home because their is no forced entry to her place that means" and Reid said, "he had a key to her place".
JJ said, "but how is that possible"?, Dave said, "somebody could have gotten her keys out of her purse and made a copy and put them back without her even knowing because that would only take a few minutes". Emily said, "poor PG", Dave said, "this will make us more determined to find this sick bastard and put him away for the rest of his life".
Reid said, "if Derek finds him first their won't be enough left of him to put in prison", JJ said, "well that would be fine with me", Emily nodded her head yes and said, "me too, me too" as they all then stepped onto the elevator. As the doors closed Hotch blew out a deep breath knowing that until they found the man that attacked Penelope they had a rapist on the lose and that was something that could not be tolerated.
Meanwhile across town a woman walks into her apartment and as soon as she walks through to her bedroom she is attacked the same way that Penelope was and all the man would say the entire time he was assaulting the woman was, "you're not as good as Penelope was, you're not as good as Penelope was".
