Attacked- Ch 9

Derek and Fran stood waiting patiently for Grace to come back out into the hall to tell them how his baby girl was doing, right now he was so excited because she was squeezing their fingers, he hoped that meant that soon she would be opening her big beautiful eyes and looking at him again.

When the door to Penelope's room opened and several nurses walked out one of them walked over to them and said, "Grace will be out in a minute" and Derek nodded his head and said, "thank you" as he watched the younger nurse make her way back up the hall.

Grace walked out into the hall and smiled, she walked over to Derek and Fran and said, "her stats are all doing a lot better and she is responding to questions by squeezing our hands and fingers'. Derek said, "that's all good news, right"?, Grace nodded her head and said, "it sure is, it should only be a matter of time now until she wakes up but their are some things that I need you to know".

Derek looked at her as she said, "she suffered a trauma, being raped is hard on anybody", Derek nodded his head as she said, "she might be afraid of you, of any man that comes near her for a while, I need you to know that for trauma victims that is totally normal".

Fran said, "I have been a nurse for over30 years and I have seen a lot of rape victims and they all need to know that they have people in their corner, people that will love them and stay by their side no matter what happens" and Grace nodded her head and said, "so true Mrs. Rossi, so true".

Derek said, "I will do whatever it takes to make sure that she feels safe and loved, she is my world, she is the other part of my heart and if I get my hands on the sick bastard that did this to her I will rip his heart out and shove it down his throat".

Fran put her hand on her sons shoulder and said, "right now all we can do for her is be there and let her know that we love her and will do anything that she needs us to do". Grace smiled at them and said, "your mother is amazing Derek" and Derek said, "ohhhhh trust me I know, I don't know what I would do without my ma, she's my rock and I love her with all of my heart".

Grace said, "you can go back in to her now and if their are any more changes please let us know" and Fran and Derek said, "we will" in unison before they stepped away from Grace and walked over to Penelope's door and pushed it open.

When he walked over to her bedside he automatically took her hand in his again and said, "I'm back sweetness and Grace said that you are doing great, that it's only a matter of time before you wake up and show us those beautiful eyes again and ohhhhh how I can't wait to see them again, I have missed you so so much baby girl".

Fran said, "we both have honey", Derek then looked up at his mother as she said, "I'm going to step out into the hall and call Dave and let him know what's going on and see if their is any progress in finding out who did this to Penelope", Derek nodded his head and said, "okay ma, I'll keep our girl company while you're gone" and Fran smiled and kissed the top of her sons head before turning around and walking out into the hall.

Meanwhile at the BAU Bryan was glancing up at the rest of the team in the round table room, he inwardly laughed knowing that they were no closer to figuring out who he was than they were earlier. As he sat there working on his paperwork he kept thinking about Penelope and how he couldn't wait to have her under him again only this time she was going to be awake so that she could enjoy it as much as he did.

Dave looked away from the pictures as his cell started ringing, he pulled it from his belt and said, "it's Fran" and put it on speaker and said, "how's kitten"?, Fran said, "she's doing better, all of her stats are doing good and she's responding to us when we talk".

Reid said, "responding how"?, Fran said, "she's squeezing our fingers and Grace said it's only a matter of time until she wakes up for us" and everybody gave a sigh of relief knowing that soon their oracle and the heart of the BAU would once again be awake.

Bryan glanced up at the group again when he heard them talking, he said, "good, good, I will be able to have her again sooner than I thought and ohhhh what fun that's going to be". He quickly looked back at his file as he saw the team turn their attention back to the pictures and videos they had been checking out for the past couple of hours.

A few minutes later Bryan watched as a young woman about 30 with dark brown hair walked into the round table room, she walked straight over to Hotch and the others and it looked like she was telling them what she was able to find out from her searches.

He had seen her a few times before and knew that she was from the analyst pool, he smiled and thought, "keep looking sweetie because you are never gonna figure out nothing and when Penelope gets better and goes home I will have her again and this time I won't have to rush because we will have all of the time in the world", he snickered and then closed his file, glanced at his watch and decided that it was time for him to go grab some lunch.
