Attacked-Ch 19

Derek and Penelope were still cuddled up together wrapped in each others arms the next morning when Fran and Dave came by the hospital to pick them up and take them back to casa Rossi. Dave and Fran just couldn't resist and pulled out their cell phones and snapped several pictures of the adorable sleeping couple and put their cells away before Dave cleared his throat causing Dereks eyes to pop open.

He said, "morning", Dave said, "right back at ya youngster", Derek grinned and said, "watch it old man", Penelope opened her eyes and then smiled at Fran and Dave and then blushed a bright red when she realized that she was still wrapped in the arms of the man of her dreams

Dave said, "how did you sleep kitten"?, Penelope said, "the best I've slept in ages papa bear", Fran said, "that's great news honey and right now rest is definitely what you need" and everybody nodded their heads yes in agreement. Their attention was then pulled to the door as Grace walked in and said, "alright who wants to get released todayyyyyyy"?, Penelope said, "ohhhh, me me meeeeeee I do I do" and everybody laughed.

race said, "alright just take it easy and let those wounds heal, no lifting, no tugging, no pulling", Fran said, "don't worry she'll be staying with me and they will be none of that going on at all". Grace said, "good to know, thanks Fran", Fran winked at her and said, "any time honey, any time" and then Grace said, "I need you to sign here and here Penelope and then you are a free woman" and Penelope happily sighed the papers and watched as her IV was removed and a small band-aid put in it's place.

Fran handed Penelope a bag and said, "we brought you some fresh clothes to change in to, are you ready to get out of here"?, Penelope gently threw the covers back and slid out of the bed and made her way to Fran. Dave said, "Derek and I will be right here waiting on you two lovely ladies" and Penelope said, "sweet talk will get you everywhere papa bear" and Fran said, "yes mam it will" and with that the two women disappeared into the bathroom and started laughing.

Derek blew out a deep breath and said, "any more news on the case"?, Dave said, "well we have another victim, she got attacked yesterday evening after she got home from work" and Derek said, "are we ever gonna catch this sick bastard"?, Dave said, "ohhh we will and it won't be long, sooner or later he's gonna mess up and that's when we are gonna grab him".

Their conversation stopped when they heard the bathroom door starting to open, Fran and Penelope stepped out and Penelope said, "well how do I look"?, Derek said, "beautiful baby girl, simply beautiful" as he walked closer to her. Dave said, "I'll go bring the car around and meet you three out by the front door", Fran winked at him and said, "we'll be right behind you" as she watched her husband disappear out into the hall.

Fran said, "and you don't have to worry because Clooney is already at my house and he's been missing you so don't be surprised if he doesn't let you out of his sight like ever" and Penelope grinned and said, "I've missed my boy too, it feels like forever since I've got to see him", Derek said, "well it has been a while since you've been over gorgeous" and Penelope sadly said, "yeah I know" and he pulled her from her thoughts by intertwining their fingers and making their way from the room.

A few minutes later they were walking out the front door of the hospital and as Fran climbed into the front seat Derek opened the back door and helped Penelope into the car before sliding in beside her. As they pulled away from the hospital she laid her head down on his shoulder and closed her eyes and sighed happily, Derek kissed the top of her head and whispered, 'I love you", she smiled and said, "and I love you" causing him to grin.

The ride back to casa Rossi didn't take long and soon they were pulling up in front of the house, Dave and Fran got out and stood watching as Derek opened the back door and slid out of the back seat. He then held out his hand and smiled as she happily slid her hand in his and let him help her out of the back of the car.

They made their way toward the door and when Penelope pushed the door open and stepped inside she couldn't help but smile as she heard, "WELCOME HOME WE'VE MISSED YOU",, she walked over and hugged everybody and said, "and I've missed you guys too sooooooo much" as she felt Jack and Henry gently wrap their little hands and arms around her legs.

After hugging the boys she looked and saw Clooney patiently waiting for his turn with his mommy, she sat down on the couch and patted the space beside her and he jumped up beside her and laid his head in her lap. She ran her hand over his head and said, "mommy has missed you yes she has" and he started wagging his head and barking, she said, "that's right, mommy's here and you are gonna be here with mommy aren't you"?, to which he kept wagging his tail and barking causing everybody to laugh.

JJ said, "well I hope the two of you are hungry because we've made enough brunch to feed an army", Penelope said, "and it smells amazingggggg" as Derek helped her up off of the couch and they made their way through to the dining room with Clooney right on her heels, he wasn't about to let her get out of his sight for anything.

Over the next hour or so they all sat at the table laughing and talking while they all enjoyed a delicious brunch together for the first time in what seemed like forever as one big happy family.
