Attacked-Ch 23
Amelia looked at Penelope and said, "so how did last night go, did you have any problems"?, Penelope said, "the rest of the day after I left the hospital was great, no problems but last night after I fell asleep I had a dream, a bad dream". Amelia sat there listening as Penelope told her about the dream, how it started out good but quickly changed and how no matter how hard she tried she couldn't get away from her attacker and she couldn't wake up".
Penelope said, "I'm pathetic aren't I"?, Amelia touched her on the hand and said, "no mam you are not pathetic, you have been through a huge trauma Penelope and it's going to take time for you to heal physically and mentally". Penelope looked down at her hands and said, "will I always be like this, will I always be afraid, will I always be able to feel his touch"?, Amelia shook her head and said, "no Penelope, no you won't"
She sat there listening as Amelia said, "in time you will heal but sometimes healing is a slow progress but don't worry I will be here for you as will your family and friends and right now that's what you need". Penelope smiled at her and said, "I don't know what I would do if I were alone, I really don't think that I could handle it Amelia I really don't"
Amelia said, "right now the main thing that you need to focus on is getting back to your normal life, or as close as you can get to it, I know that what I am saying sounds easier said than done but start out slow and build your way back up to where you were before your attack happened"
Penelope said, "do you really think that I can do that"?, Amelia said, "I know you can, you are a strong beautiful woman and I know that once you set your mind to doing something that you can and will do it", Penelope said, "so just what, take things a day at a time"?, Amelia shook her head and said, "no, not a day at a time, take things a second at a time and soon it will be easier to get through a minute and then an hour and then a day and so on and so on"
Penelope smiled at her friend and said, "thank you so much for coming to see me today, my session really helped", Amelia said, "you are very welcome and I meant what I said, anytime day or night you need to talk I'm here for you". Penelope grinned and said, "thank you I promise that I will take you up on that offer" and Amelia grinned and said, "good now is their anything else that you would like to talk about today"?, Penelope bit down on her bottom lip and said, "Derek".
Amelia said, "Derek, what about him"?, Bryan heard Dereks name and instantly became interested in their conversation, he listened as Penelope said, "their are only a few men I feel comfortable with and Derek is one, Hotch, Reid and Dave are the others but with Derek it's different, I'm, I'm" and Amelia said, "you're in love with Derek, right"?, Penelope said, "always have been, he's amazing, he's so sweet, kind, loving and he is always there for me".
Amelia said, "it sounds like he's in love with you too", she nodded her head and said ,"we've both confessed our love but I'm afraid, what if, what if I'm never able to be you know" and Amelia said, "what if you're never able to have sex with him you mean"?, Penelope said, "yeah"
Penelope listened as Amelia said, "Derek sounds like the real deal to me and he is patient and he will wait until you are ready to move on to the next step so just take things" and Penelope said, "one second at a time" and Amelia nodded her head and said, "yes, one second at a time" and both women laughed as they stood up and headed back inside the house with Mudgie and Clooney right behind them.
As Bryan watched the two women walk toward the door he whispered, "he will never have you, you are mine Penelope and if I can't have you then nobody will", he then balled his hands into fists as he watched Derek walk over to the two women, they shared a few words before Amelia left.
He then stood watching as Derek and Penelope intertwined fingers and headed through the house, he blew out a deep breath and thought, "don't worry she won't be physical with him, not after what I did to her". He grinned and said to himself, "you've got time, you've got time" he then started walking through the house to do his job and protect the woman that had become his obsession, his Penelope.
