Chapter 9.-Disney: a dream is a wish your heart makes

Ps: Josh (Asher Angel) is now a member of New Directions, Marley (Melissa Benoist) spends time with Rachel (Lea Michele) since Kara returned to National City, Olivia (Olivia Rodrigo) shows Rachel that it's okay not being perfect and we will meet Rachel's cousin Peyton (Grace Fulton)
This chapter focuses mostly on Rachel since she has a huge storyline but in the next chapters everyone else has the storylines I promise.

(Mercedes, Sebastian, Marley, Finn, Olivia, Mike, Puck, Santana, Brittany and Kurt were gathered in the choir room singing for fun and Josh, now a new member of the glee club, was there too. for the first time there was a friendly atmosphere and there were no rivalries)

(Finn sings softly his part, Josh walks over and sings his verse, the rest of the kids join the song]

(Olivia recreates the scene where Belle walks to the fountain dreamingly holding an open book, she sits on a chair as she smiles; Marley, Mercedes and Brittany stand behind her and with a smile she shows them the book pointing at the page)

(Finn and Puck act as a studs while Kurt singing Gaston's verse feels uncomfortable)

(Jake enters the choir room with Amanda walking behind Artie and pushing his wheelchair, Tina and Ryder; the three of them watch the rest of the kids singing "Belle" from Beauty and The beast)

"That was so fun," Marley giggled.
"Well, we wanted to cheer you up after Kara left for National City," Mercedes said.
"Thank you so much" Marley felt moved. "Kara would love it, her favorite Disney movie is precisely Beauty and the beast"
"You saw the live-action one?" Josh asked. "Emma Watson was on it and she was so perfect as Belle"
"Wait, really?" Finn asked. "I thought there was only the animated version"
"Lately they are doing a lot of live action movies," Olivia explained. "Maleficent, Alice in wonderland, The Jungle book and the list goes on. My favorite is Cinderella with Lily James. Prince Kit is so cute"
"Um guys…we have company" Sebastian interrupted his teammates and they saw that Tina was already there with Jake, Ryder and Amanda; obviously enjoying the funny musical number.
"Oh great," Santana muttered.
"Oh my God" Kurt exclaimed.
"We're so sorry" Brittany apologized. "We thought there was no one. Lord Tubbington was watching the door" the cat, who was standing next to the door meowed.
Can you bring your cat to school?" Puck asked the cheerleader, who just shrugged.
"Why are you guys apologizing, that was so cool" Tina said. "I didn't know you liked Beauty and the Beast. It's one of the great Disney classics of all time"
"We love Beauty and the beast," Kurt said. "It's in my favorite Disney movies top ten along with Pocahontas, Peter Pan and Lilo and Stitch"
"Guys… I just heard you sing Belle and it was awesome" entered the choir room.
"Thank you," Marley said. "It was Mercedes' idea and everyone else helped. I was depressed after my sister left"
"What does Beauty and the Beast have to do with Kara?" Jake asked.
"Since the fact that it's Kara's favorite Disney movie," Sebastian explained. "Marley was telling us that she watched it with her sister before she left"
"Everyone have a seat" indicated as the kids went to sit down and gave a clap. "After witnessing your peculiar performance and listening to Marley's story; I have the perfect assignment for this week"
The teacher walked over the white board and with the market he wrote in capital's letter one single word: "Disney"
"¿Disney?" Everyone asked.
"Since when does this become a chorus" Puck asked.
"We are on a choir Puck" Finn pointed out to his friend and then looked at his teacher. " , I'm glad that you considered Disney as the week's assignment; all of us with no exception grew up watching Disney but…shouldn't we be rehearsing for sectionals?"
"Oh perfect; One Rachel left and now another is staying" Santana said sarcastically addressing Finn. "Don't take it personally Finnocence, but your girlfriend's impression was terrible" Finn rolled his eyes at the comment of the Latina, that was usual as always.
"Actually it's a great idea," Amanda finally said. "We can still rehearsing for sectionals and use Disney as inspiration"
"Thank you Amanda," said. "That's what I'm saying; there's still days until the competition so this assignment will be more relaxed. now... define with a word what Disney means to you"
"Childhood," Marley said.
"Magic" Josh said.
"Fairy Tales," Olivia added.
"Faith" Mercedes finished.
"The little mermaid is my favorite movie," Brittany said. "Ariel's best friend is a fish and she brushes her hair with a fork and she also fell in love with a statue. I didn't know that living statues can live in the sea, do they have the ability to breathe underwater?"
"What is she talking about?" Ryder was confused.
"She's Brittany," Artie said. "In her world she is a genius. So don't try to understand her language"
Anyway," the teacher continued, returning to the topic since the boys weren't paying attention. "We have to focus on the sectionals and that's why this week's homework will use Disney as inspiration. each of you will sing a song from your favorite movie"
"can it also be from Pixar?" Tina asked.
"It doesn't matter Tina," commented Marley. "still belongs to Disney"
"So... from today we started as you just did the demonstration with "Belle" Mr. Schuester commented, immediately afterwards the bell rang indicating that the class had finished for the moment, everyone without exception got up from their seats and left the choir room.
Meanwhile in Carmel High, Rachel was putting some notebooks inside when someone shutted her locker violently making her gasp, in front of her were Jenna and Danielle, who looked at her with contempt.
I'm not in the mood to put up with your abuse right now" Rachel said. "I just want to study for the test if you don't mind, I'd rather be in the library where I don't feel judged"
"We don't give a damn what you think trash" Danielle looked at her. "I told you not to mess with me and you had to open your magpie mouth for Miss Corcoran to give you that solo, I was supposed to sing on that mash-up, not you. Now prepare to face the consequences"
"I told you I was sorry, okay?" Rachel snapped. "and your threats mean nothing to me"
"You messed with the wrong person,walrus face" Jenna told her. "Right now you will know what it is to step on the same hell, do you want evil? We will show you what it is to be evil"
"No thanks, I'll pass," Rachel said. "For trying to be like you only brought me misfortune and suffering, I'm in a choir where I don't feel valued and I'm constantly bullied, my ex-boyfriend broke my heart, so if you ask me if I want to be evil, I´m not interested; now if you'll excuse me..." she turned to leave but Danielle grabbed her arm roughly.
No, you listen well to something, little slob" said the redhead giving her a murderous look. "You're in a hierarchy, we're at the top and you're at the bottom of the pyramid, you're nobody. here you just shut up and don't speak. you're ugly, irritating, short, and wear nursery-girl clothes with a fetish taste for gold stars; This is your prison and we are the guards. We all at Vocal Adrenaline despised you and Miss Corcoran only accepted you out of pity."
"Think what you want of me," Rachel said firmly, through her eyes began to fill with tears.
"aww look at the baby girl" Jenna scoffed. "She's going to cry calling her mommy" she and Danielle laughed. "grow up stubbles, no one here will be nice to you. In fact…" the blonde snapped her fingers and the rest of the Vocal Adrenaline girls came over, all glaring at Rachel. "We will show you that in this world, the good will always be destroyed and what better role model to follow than Cruella De Vil herself"
"Um…Jen, you did know that Cruella was obsessed with killing Dalmatian puppies for a fur coat, right?" Danielle told her friend, Jenna turned to see her rolling her eyes, Rachel was confused; the blonde and the redhead were supposed to be inseparable.
"For God's sake Danielle, whose side are you on?" Jenna told her. "If you don't want to be a loser like Rachel Berry then you have to live up to it"
"I was just talking about facts…" Danielle started to say but she preferred to go back to the previous countenance of hers. "Never mind" she once again turned to look at Rachel. "Look Rachel, don't take this personally but people like you just don't fit in, it's science."
(Scene changes to a fantasy dream sequence, The girls of Vocal Adrenaline parade in a dazzling runway with the atmosphere of red, black and white; the colors of Cruella De Vil, they wear red dresses, a black trench coat and high heels, they have red lipstick. Rachel is the only one in the audience with other people and she is holding a Dalmatian puppy in her arms)

(Jenna and Danielle walk over to Rachel and give her a smirk showing her that being evil is cool and then Danielle pets the dalmatian puppy that Rachel is holding, the puppy looks scared as Rachel holds him closer to her chest to calm him)

(Jenna and Danielle walk over to Rachel in circles with the rest of the girls of Vocal Adrenaline, a scene of the movie "102 Dalmatians" is projected on the wall and we see Cruella (Glenn Close) laughing maniacally after the whole town and people had spots everywhere)

The song abruptly ends and everything goes back to normal, Rachel was still in the hallways with Jenna and Danielle,
I think we're done with this rat" Giselle told her companions. "She learned her lesson"
"Yes, besides, it won't last here long," added Andrea Cohen. "she will be kicked out"
"I don't know about you guys but I'm so bored," Jenna said. "Being with this scum is disgusting, let's go for a latte"
Danielle stared at Rachel for a moment, but instead of contempt for her, she even felt bad for her.
"I think you have talent," Danielle told her. "And sometimes I envy you, I wish I was as good as you"
"Danielle! We are waiting for you!" Jenna yelled at the redhead. "move!"
"Go with them," Rachel told her. "I don't want you to be a loser like me, you're better than that"
Danielle didn't say anything else and left with the entourage of the witches, leaving Rachel alone and sad in the middle of the corridor; the beautiful Jewish girl took out her cell phone and dialed her number, then stuck it to her ear.
"Hello?" a sweet and beautiful voice sounded on the other end of the line.
"Marley?" Rachel asked and her voice filled with tears.
"Oh my gosh Rachel, what happened? Are you okay?" Marley's voice sounded worried. "You have us all worried because you left without saying anything" some sniffs were heard on the other side of the line, Rachel was crying. "Rachel"
"Marley, I need you," Rachel replied with sobs as the tears rolled down her cheeks. "I miss my best friend, I miss everything. I'm not okay"
"Don't worry, I'll see you at Lima Bean in an hour and then we'll talk" Marley assured her. "don't cry, okay? I miss you too"
"Okay" Rachel told her. "thank you Marls, I love you"
"Me too Rach, you are my best friend" assured Marley. "I'll see you soon"
Rachel ended the call with her best friend Marley Rose, feeling calmed that she wasn't alone and there was always a light at the end of the tunnel.
An hour later after Rachel collapsed in Marley's arms crying and she comforted her; both were in Lima Bean sitting face to face and drinking coffee.
"Do you feel better?" Marley asked softly.
"Thanks for being here Marley," Rachel told her. "I didn't think you were going to come"
"Why did you think that?" the brown-haired girl with blue eyes inquired. "You're my best friend Rachel, I wasn't going to break my promise; specially since you called me on the phone crying I knew something was wrong"
don't you hate me?" Rachel said sadly. "I was so selfish, I got mad because Mr. Schue gave Brittany the solo in the group number they're going to sing at sectionals; I forced Olivia into a sing-off with me when she never wanted to compete, I got jealous of her audition and the worst thing is…I left without saying goodbye."
"I don't hate you" Marley told her
"Although what you did was wrong; Finn told us that the other day he, Kurt and Olivia found out that you're in the rival choir"
"Did he go with Kurt and Olivia to Carmel?" Rachel was confused. "but...I only saw him"
"Because he talked to you in private while Kurt and Olivia waited for him in the car" Marley explained. "Being a star does not always bring good things; it makes you ambitious and selfish. today in glee Finn and Olivia had to sing a duet but neither of them was comfortable; Olivia because she felt it was wrong to sing with your boyfriend and Finn because he misses you"
"Did they kissed?" Rachel asked fearfully.
"Finn would never cheat on you, not even with Quinn Fabray, least of all with Olivia," Marley told her. "Their relationship is more like brother and sister although in a way Olivia reminds me of you"
"Amanda, you know the blonde girl, she's the one with my personality" Rachel said. "I think Olivia is sweet like you"
" Olivia Michaels admires you and she has similarities with you" observed Marley. "She not only looks like you physically, she is also very talented and she likes the gold stars like you. She sees you as her role model"
"I'm a lousy role model Marley" Rachel said sadly. "I always wanted to be the star of New Directions and have all the solos, I was so unfair to Olivia and the worst thing is... I betrayed everyone" she took a sip of her coffee. "Besides, instead of spending time with Kara you preferred to be with me and I don't deserve it"
Kara had to go home, she had to work and fulfill her responsibilities" Marley did not tell Rachel that her sister was the real Supergirl, precisely so as not to break her promise. "We still keep in touch and I will spend the summer with her"

It's horrible." Rachel felt her eyes fill with tears. "I thought I would have everything I wanted, but I was wrong. I feel ignored, belittled. I can't speak...every time I want to express myself they stop me. there are two girls… Danielle and Jenna who made my life hell "she cried again." my ex ex-boyfriend Jesse is captain of Vocal Adrenaline and he dumped me for Jenna. I...I don't have any friends and...I feel so alone" the tears streamed down her face. "I'm so sorry I left; At least in the glee club my friends are you, Amanda and Olivia. I had Finn, I have no one here"
"I'm so sorry Rachel," Marley told her. "those people from Vocal Adrenaline are awful, they attack their rivals by throwing eggs at them"
"I know, I was there," Rachel said sniffing. "As I didn't participate, they accused me of treason and threw eggs at me. I had never felt so humiliated in my life"
Have you ever told them how you feel?" Marley asked. "Or your coach? maybe she will listen to you"
"It's useless, although Shelby thinks I have potential, her favorite is the beautiful blonde Jenna," Rachel said. "I'm literally invisible, the time I sang in the mash-up was almost a miracle and I even learned to tap dance, but almost always everyone tells me to keep quiet and my opinion doesn't matter"
"Come with me" Marley said as she got up from the seat, Rachel followed her, as they paid for their coffees they simply left.
"Where are we going?" Rachel asked, confused.
"The auditorium" Marley simply said as they entered Marley's car and she started to drive back to McKinley.
"I don't think this is such a good idea Marley" Rachel said. "I'm not a McKinley student anymore and if the others find out…"
"Hey" Marley put a hand on her shoulder while the traffic light pointed at red. "I got this, okay? Trust me" Rachel sighed.
Now are you going to tell me why we're going to the auditorium or are you going to keep it on hold until we get there?" Rachel asked.
"You said you need to express yourself," Marley reminded her. "And what better place than the auditorium?" She kept driving until she parked in front of the McKinley entrance. "We're here."
The girls got out of the car and walked into the school, Rachel feeling homesick.
They reached the empty auditorium and climbed onto the stage.
"It's so big," Rachel said "I really missed how it felt to be on this stage"
"I know" Marley smiled. "It feels like magic"
"It is," Rachel agreed with a soft smile. "The Carmel auditorium can be awesome but this auditorium feels like home. I can be myself not pretend to be someone else"
The reason we're here is for you to blow off some steam," Marley told her. "Remember in the Aladdin movie? when Jasmine felt ignored by the sultan and Jafar? She only had Dalia to rely on, her maiden. but she was constantly rejected because a princess is better to be admired and not listened to"
I remember, Jasmine was brave to raise her voice and stand up to Jafar" Rachel commented. "Now that you mention it, with everything that happened in Vocal Adrenaline and no one listening to me, I'm in her shoes"
"And precisely she sang a song to express her frustration of staying silent" Marley said. "It's your turn to do the same. imagine you see your fellow members of Vocal Adrenaline who look down on you, Jesse, Danielle and Jenna...and with this song you're going to make them listen and you won't be speechless"
The orchestra walked on stage and took their positions.
"I don't know Marls," Rachel hesitated.
"Trust me Rach" Marley told her sweetly. "It will serve as therapy" she took the sheet music for "Speechless" and sat down at the piano. "thank God I never missed my piano lessons"
(Marley plays "Speechless" on the piano softly, Rachel starts singing as she looks at the empty audience)
[Rachel]

(Back to the auditorium of McKinley, Rachel continues singing as tears fall down her face, Marley looks to Rachel with a proud face but also feels sad for what she went through)

Rachel finished singing as she took a deep breath and wiped away her tears; Marley got up from the piano bench and walked towards Rachel to hug her.
"I'm so proud of you" Marley told her friend as they parted the hug.
"Thank you Marley," Rachel told her. "You were right, that was great therapy. I think I'm…returning to McKinley after sectionals. Being in Vocal Adrenaline was a huge mistake and I won't be the same childish, petty and selfish brat who demanded solos. I want to be different"
"I'm glad to hear that," Marley smiled. "So…what do you want to do now? I feel so lonely without my sister and I really missed spending time with my best friend"
"Actually…" She looks at her watch and then at her friend. "My cousin Peyton moves from Atlanta and she'll attend to college here so she'll move into my house"
"Wow, you're going to have a roommate," Marley said excitedly. "That's so awesome"
"Yeah, Pey is really nice," Rachel said. "I need to pick her up from the train station in an hour, would you like to come with me? I can introduce you to her"
"Sure, I'd love to," Marley smiled. "And after we can dinner in Breadstix"
"I'm in" Rachel agreed, both girls giggled linking their arms as they left the auditorium.
As Rachel and Marley left, they didn't notice that sitting in the back of the seats was Finn, who watched and listened to everything.
(Finn walked to the stage, got on it and sat at the piano starting to sing "Can't you feel the love Tonight" from the Lion King soundtrack, deeply missing his beloved Rachel and thinking of her)
[Finn]

"Dude, if you start crying I'll kick your ass" Puck jokingly threatened him as he pointed at him with his index finger.
"The song was so beautiful," Mercedes said. "What made you sing it?"
"I think it was a hint to Rachel" Amanda said with a smirk.
"Well...partly I sang it with Rachel in mind," Finn said. "I miss her"
"when your songs are not thinking of Rachel Frankenteen?" Santana said, rolling her eyes with a smile. "I'm kidding, Can you feel the love tonight it's a lovely ballad"
"I think you just impressed Sir Elton John himself" Artie raised his hand in approval.
"Thanks man" Finn showed his half-smile. "But I don't think I can be as good as Elton John, he's a legend"
"Well, considering he contributed to the Lion King soundtrack and one of his songs was nominated for an Oscar…" Tina started saying. "But the week's assignment is Disney, not Elton John"
"The Lion King is from Disney Tina" Mike clarified his girlfriend. "Wait…that's brilliant, maybe we should convince that our next assignment of the week is an Elton John tribute"
"Allright, let's get the head on the game," Olivia told her teammates.
"Hold on a second mini Berry" Puck interrupted Olivia, since she reminded him of Rachel in some ways. "Did Troy Bolton just possess your body or something?"
"No," Olivia said, confused. "I just did a High school musical reference; at my old school we did High School Musical for the spring play and I was Gabriella"
"Yeah, Olivia Michaels is a carbon copy of Miss Rachel Berry," Santana said.
"Santana, stop," Mercedes said. "The new girl is nice, so stop being sassy and just chill"
"Gee, some people are so touchy," Santana said smiling. "Okay, I'll be nice, like super nice"
"Olivia is Rachel's twin sister?" Brittany suddenly asked excitedly. "That's awesome; almost everyone has a dopplegänger, first Marley, then Rachel and now Josh. I'm thinking of building a clone machine since Lord Tubbington wants a twin brother"
"Okay?" Tina said, confused. "We're forgetting about Finn here so let's back to the point" she told her teammates
"That was awesome, Finn," Josh confessed. "I didn't know you could play the piano, when you recruited me the other day I only saw you playing the drums"
"I took piano lessons when I was twelve," Finn confessed. "I never told anyone"
"Justin Timberlake we just found out about your secret" Mercedes smirked as everyone else chuckled. "So…what are you doing all by yourself in this big auditorium? The rehearsal ended four hours ago"
"I needed some time to think," Finn pointed out. "I miss Rachel and since we're doing Disney in glee club I wanted to sing "Can you feel the love tonight" since we always sing that song together when we drive"

"We heard you singing and we followed you," Artie confessed. "You're like the Pied Piper of Hamelin, except you don't drown rats or make a crowd of children hide behind a big rock where no one ever sees them again."
"They say the school is haunted after everyone leaves," said Brittany. "Lord Tubbington had nightmares for a Week"
"Let's get out of here," Puck said. "I promised Quinn I'd take her out to Breadstix for dinner on our first date."
"You? The bad boy with the ice queen?" Mercedes said. "That girl Quinn is evil and her sidekick Kitty Wilde follows her everywhere"
"Quinn is hot and after the date we will have sex" Puck said. "I'll be home alone since my mom is taking my sister to a slumber party with her friend Casey."
"We didn't need to know that," Amanda said with a disgusted face.
All the members of New Directions left the auditorium in silence, giving no more thought to the matter.
Are you sure you're okay, Finn?" Olivia asked her friend, whom she saw as an older brother, after their duet together and how they sneaked out with Kurt at the rival school, their relationship was progressing. "I'm sorry for the comment Noah made, it was too inappropriate"
"That's Puck being a pervert" Finn said. "The only thing he thinks about is getting into the pants of any girl he sees in front of him, now his next conquest is Quinn Fabray. Besides, I had my first time with Rachel so..."
"Okay" Olivia said. "I um…I´ve never been intimate with anyone" she bit her lip and looked down at the ground in embarrassment.
"Are you a virgin?" Finn asked the girl. "it's okay if you don't want to tell me, I don't want to make you uncomfortable"
"Yes I am," Olivia confessed sadly. "I don't feel ready and that bothered my ex-boyfriend Anthony, he called me a prude when I refused to go any further"
"I'm sorry to hear that," Finn told him. "he's an idiot and it's his loss for letting you go because you're an amazing girl olivia Michaels; I'm sure you'll find that guy who will love you for who you are"
"Are you talking about Josh? The cute guy with dimples and green eyes who sings like a freakin angel?" Olivia asked with a smile.
"Do you like Josh?" Finn's eyes widened. "wow uh...I didn't know that" then he smirks. "My little sister has a secret admirer"
"Shut up" laughed Olivia, giving him a light push with her arm. "Of course not, Josh is super cute but...I don't know him and since I just got out of a bad relationship I still don't know if dating another guy is a good idea. I'd rather be single for a while and focus on myself until my heart heals"
I'm glad to hear that, self love is important" Finn told her. "Do you want to have dinner at Breadstix?"
"Only if my amazing older brother lets me pay the bill," Olivia joked.
"I don't think so, young lady," Finn said. "Nice try" Olivia sighed in surrender.
"Okay, you win," Olivia answered with a smile. "but I'll order the pesto pasta with chicken that they prepare, it's my favorite"
"Consider it done" smiled Finn and the two left the auditorium to spend some time as friends.
Marley and Rachel were at the train station waiting for Peyton to arrive, Rachel's cousin who was moving from Atlanta, Georgia to Lima, Ohio for college.
"Hey, it's going to be okay." Marley put a hand on her shoulder.
"The last time I saw Peyton was two years ago" Rachel said nervously. "Maybe she doesn't recognize me anymore"
"If the two of you were as close as you say, then I assure you that she will recognize you immediately" Marley assured her.
"The truth is that Peyton is like the sister I never had" Rachel confessed. "She reminds me so much of Kara"
"I miss her" Marley sighed. "Tonight I will talk to her by video call"
"That's great," Rachel smiled and hugged her friend. "I am so happy that you found your sister"
"It was all thanks to you and Finn," Marley thanked her.
"We just introduced her to you," Rachel said. "you guys did the rest"
"I guess so," Marley pointed out.
"Rachel!" A pretty brunette young woman said getting off the train holding a suitcase and had a backpack on her back.
"Oh my God, Peyton" Rachel smiled as she and Peyton ran toward each other and hugged. "I can't believe you're here"
"Me neither Rachie, but here I am and I'm not going anywhere" Peyton smiled as she held her hands and looked at her. "Wow, look at you, you look gorgeous; the last time you visited me two years ago in Atlanta you didn't have bangs, the style definitely suits you, I love it"
It's been a long time after two years" Rachel explained and saw that Marley approached them. "Pey, I want to introduce you to someone" she pointed to the beautiful teenager with brown hair and blue eyes. "This is Marley Rose, my best friend, Marley...this is my cousin Peyton Marie Bennet Berry" she then points at the brunette with brown eyes.
"Just call me Peyton," laughed Peyton shaking hands with Marley. "Nice to meet you Marley"
"Nice to meet you too" smiled Marley. "Rachel has told me a lot about you"
"She did?" Peyton was curious and then looked at her cousin with a smirk.
"Just the basics," Rachel explained. "That you are my amazing cousin who I consider like a sister and who will now study at college here."
"Almost everything," laughed Peyton, wrapping an arm around her cousin's waist. "But yes, I love Ohio and that's the only way I'm closer to my little cousin; Uncle Leroy talked to my mom and they agreed that I live with them so I don't have to share a room with a stranger on campus"
I'm glad you're spending time with Rachel" Marley smiled and the three of them walked off the platform towards the parking lot, both Rachel and Marley helping Peyton with her luggage, though she insisted it wasn't necessary, and then got in Marley's car, Rachel in the passenger's seat and Peyton in the backseat.
"It's been a long day," Rachel told her cousin. "Do you want to go get something to eat or do you prefer to go home to unpack and rest? The principal said you can start your classes on Monday"
I'm starving Rach" confessed Peyton. "I only ate an oatmeal bar on the train, I can unpack later"hearing the nickname, Rachel sighed sadly. "Hey, what's wrong little star?" Peyton puts a hand on her shoulder.
"It's nothing, it's just...Finn calls me that" Rachel confessed sadly. "now we're both not on good terms, I mean...we're still dating but he's mad at me"
"Wait…do you have a boyfriend?" Peyton was shocked.
"Yes," Rachel confessed. "his name is Finn Hudson and he's the cutest guy in school"
"He's the quarterback and popular," Marley explained. "but he's in love with Rachel"
"yeah well…it's a long story" Rachel said sadly. "can we please talk about something else? it hurts too much"
"It's okay" Peyton was understanding with her cousin. "you don't have to tell me if you don't feel comfortable, take your time"
"Thanks Peyton" Rachel thanked her cousin as Marley drove to an Italian restaurant named "Breadstix" where the specialty was breadsticks. "I hope you like Italian food"
"It's my favorite," Peyton smiled. "huh, the name it's funny"
"Well, their specialty is breadsticks, so…the name is stuck" Marley smiled, the three girls got off the car and entered the restaurant.
"nice place" Peyton smiled as she looked at the fancy restaurant. There were people sitting everywhere, some ate and others talked casually.
And you haven't tasted their spaghetti yet" Rachel smiled, the three of them sat down at a table.
"Good evening" a waitress approached. "My name is Jessica and I will be your waitress, would you like to order?
"Lemonade for now please" Marley said and looked at Rachel and Peyton. "What would you like?"
"Same" Rachel said. "thank you"
"Okay" Jessica said. "I'll bring your drinks right away" she turned around and walked away leaving the girls alone.
Suddenly a girl was standing on a stage singing "On my mind" by Ellie Goulding and directed her gaze to a screen at the back of the restaurant where the track of the song appeared and followed the lyrics.
"Is it karaoke night?" Marley asked.
"It seems so" said Rachel, watching the girl singing with feeling and she didn't do anything wrong, the public was watching her. "Her rendition of Ellie Goulding is so good"
"She's talented," Peyton observed, and when the girl finished singing, the entire audience applauded her.
"Thank you" the girl thanked the public with a smile and got off the stage.
And that folks, was Megan Harris singing Ellie Goulding's "On My Mind"" the Emcee announced into the microphone. "Who wants to be the next one to delight us tonight?"
"Here's your drinks ladies" Jessica smiled as she placed the limonades on the table. "So you saw the karaoke night huh?"
"Yeah, that was a girl named Megan singing a song by Ellie Goulding," Marley smiled.
"Well, if you want to go next," Jessica encouraged the girls. "it`s open"
"I think we want to eat first," Peyton said. "But it's not a bad idea" she turned to her cousin and Marley. "What do you say guys? Do we participate in karaoke? it will be fun"
"Sure, why not?" Rachel said. "Also I missed singing with Marley and it will be even cooler to sing with my cousin"
In that case, we want to sign up for karaoke," Marley said.
"Perfect, you can write your names on these papers" Jessica said, giving them three pieces of paper and a pen. "I will give them to the emcee"
"Great" Peyton smiled and wrote her name on the piece of paper, so did Rachel and Marley. "here you go"
"Thank you," Jessica said. "I'm going with the emcee and I'll be back to take your order" she left and once again the girls were left alone.
"I can't believe we agreed to sing karaoke," Marley said, laughing nervously and taking a sip of her lemonade.
"I know," Rachel smiled. "But we have to risk it, don't you think?"
"I agree," said Peyton. "Well, we should toast" she raised her glass of lemonade. "for the beginning of this friendship and that it lasts a long time"
"To us" smiled Marley clinking her glass of lemonade with Peyton and Rachel's before drinking.
Meanwhile, Finn and Olivia were sitting at another table eating pasta and drinking iced tea without realizing that Rachel and Marley were with another girl in the same restaurant.
"You were right, it's the best pasta I've ever tasted" Olivia said wiping herself with the napkin.
"The only thing that's disgusting are the breadsticks," Finn said, making a disgusted face as Olivia took a bite. "I can't believe you like them"
"Trust me, they don't taste too bad once you taste them," Olivia assured him, offering him one.
"No thanks Liv, I'll pass," Finn told her, eating his pasta and taking a sip of his iced tea.
"Finn, you have to try everything," Olivia told him. "Imagine that the only thing in this restaurant is breadsticks"
"That would be the one exception where I would eat them but if I could I would eat something else" Finn said.
"Oh my God…" Olivia suddenly exclaimed as she recognized the girls at the table ten feet away from them. "Finn...there's Rachel and Marley"
"What the..." Finn saw that his girlfriend and Marley were indeed talking with a brunette girl. "They're with a girl I've never seen before and it looks like they know her"
She looks a bit like Rachel," Olivia observed. "And she's so pretty."
"Rachel once mentioned that she has a cousin named Peyton who lives in Atlanta, Georgia," Finn commented.
"Surely the girl with her and Marley is her cousin" Olivia said.
"Next we have Marley Rose, Rachel Berry and Peyton Bennet who will sing "Once upon a dream" from Sleeping Beauty" announced the emcee.
"That girl is Peyton," Finn said. "We were right" he and Olivia watched as the three girls climbed onto the stage and each one grabbed a microphone.
(The track started playing in "Emily Osment "Once upon a dream" style as Rachel, Peyton and Marley looked at the screen with the lyrics and started to sing, it turned out that Peyton could really sing as well and she had a great voice)

No sooner had they finished singing than the entire restaurant stood up and applauded, including Finn and Olivia.
"That was awesome," Marley said smiling and giving Rachel and Peyton a high five. "we should do it again"
"Well done girls" the emcee congratulated them. "You three are very talented"
"Thank you," Peyton said.
"why don't you sing us another song?" the emcee insisted.
"Once is enough," Rachel said. "It's also the others' turn to participate, but it was fun" she got down from the stage together with her friend and her cousin and they went to sit at the table.
"Your dinner is served" Jessica said, placing the plates full of spaghetti in front of the girls. "three spaghetti with pesto and chicken, enjoy"
"Thanks," Marley said.
"Oh, and congratulations on your participation in the karaoke," Jessica smiled. "I heard them sing and they are wonderful" she turned around and continued waiting tables.
The girls began to eat, enjoying their pasta and talking. Peyton told them about the career that she would study at the university and especially the decision to move from Atlanta to where the three agreed that it was fun to sing together at karaoke.
"You should join the glee club," Marley suggested.
"What is a glee club?" Peyton asked.
"It's a choir," Rachel said. "it's fun"
"I'd love to, unfortunately I'm not in high school anymore," Peyton said. "it would be too weird for a college girl to be a member of the glee club"
"I…I'm going to the bathroom" Rachel suddenly felt uncomfortable and got up from the table.
"Did I say something wrong?" Peyton was confused. "First my cousin was sad when she mentioned her boyfriend and now with the glee club..."
"Rachel's in another choir," Marley explained sadly. "She left because a girl named Olivia Michaels who is really talented joined the glee club and Rachel felt threatened by her talent."
"I love my cousin but I don't like that she wants to be the center of attention all the time," Peyton said. "She must also let others succeed," she shook her head. "I'm going to talk to her and make her see reason"
"I already did and she was really sorry Peyton" Marley told her sadly. "She is undervalued in Vocal Adrenaline, she has to deal with her ex-boyfriend and two girls who make her life miserable. Rachel wants to do the right thing"
Rachel was looking in the bathroom mirror and wiping away her tears with a handkerchief, but they refused to stop, the door suddenly opened and Rachel saw in the reflection that Olivia was entering the bathroom.
"Rachel?" Olivia said, walking up to her. "Are you okay?"
"What are you doing here?" Rachel sniffed and her tears kept slipping down.
"I saw that you got up from the table abruptly so I followed you" Olivia confessed and flashed a smile. "I'm so happy to see you" she hugged her. "I miss you so much, I didn't want you to leave New Directions and much less McKinley" she got sad again. "I don't understand, what did I do? I didn't mean to overstage you"
"Olivia stop" Rachel stopped the girl softly. "Stop being so nice to me, I don't deserve it. not after how i treated you "her tears kept rolling down her face" i forced you to do the sing-off when you clearly wanted to be a team and i just saw you as a threat. the truth is... you really are talented and you will reach very high"
"Thanks Rachel, but I'm still missing," Olivia confessed. "On the other hand, you...you are incredible and I admire you. You sing beautifully, you participate in all the musicals at your school, you aspire to go to Broadway and succeed in New York. You were born to be a star"
"It's so tiring being so perfect all the time" Rachel lamented leaning on the sink. "Having all the solos, the perfect boyfriend, the lead in musicals, making it on Broadway and winning a Tony at 25" she shook her head. "Those are just dreams of a silly girl and... the worst thing is that in my new school I can't be myself, in Vocal Adrenaline you have to be perfect and... I'm sick of it"
"You're not perfect Rachel, none of us are. No matter how hard we try" Olivia told him. "And you know something? It's great to be imperfect because you can make mistakes and then learn from them. You remind me so much of Isabela, she also had to appear perfect for her grandmother and her family until it was her own sister who opened her eyes and made her see that being herself she could create beautiful things "
"It's funny that you brought it up because I was talking to Marley this morning and she referenced Princess Jasmine in Aladdin when she felt ignored. "Rachel points out with a smile. "and now... you referenced another movie."
"I'm sorry" Olivia apologized shyly. "Encanto is my new favorite Disney movie and it's inspired by Colombia, and when you told me how frustrating it is trying to be perfect I related you to Mirabel's older sister"
"It's okay," Rachel said. "that made me feel a little better"
"I can teach you you know" Olivia points out smiling. "how to embrace your imperfection"
Why are you doing this?" Rachel asked sadly. "I know that Finn, you and Kurt infiltrated Carmel and saw me with Vocal Adrenaline, the worst thing is... we're going to compete against each other in sectionals"
"Honestly I was surprised to see you in the rival choir, I never thought you would be able to do that" Olivia confessed. "But I must confess that you were amazing in the mash-up and your tap moves were the best"
"Thank you Olivia," Rachel said. "but even though I tried my best, Vocal Adrenaline didn't think it was perfect enough" Rachel rolled her eyes.
"Rachel Berry, it's time to show you how cool it's not being perfect" Olivia says with a smirk. "trust me, you´ll feel better and someday you´re going to thank me"
(Scene changes the next day where Rachel is standing in the McKinley auditorium with a smile on her face and holding a cactus on her hands staring at the plant with interest)

"Because you're such an inspiration," Peyton told her. "Well, if you don't have anything to do... today there will be a drive-in theater in the park and the movie will be Cinderella" she took out the tickets. "I bought four tickets; us, Marley and... if you want you too Olivia"
"Come with us," Rachel told her new friend. "I want to thank you for everything you did for me"
"I'm in" smiled Olivia. "But first...please stay because we have a special number in the glee club that we have prepared and considering that we are going to see Cinderella well..." Rachel and Peyton nodded, accepting Olivia´s invitation.
(Minutes later, all the New Directions members are standing in the stage with a fairy tale castle as a background, the girls are dressed with baby blue dresses wearing headbands and silver ballerina shoes and the boys with jeans, converse and baby blue shirts as , Peyton and Rachel are sitting in the audience watching the performance with a smile)
