Hello guys! Thank you so much for your last reviews in the chapter. Finally we reach chapter 18, there are 9 left to finish this story that took me more than four years, but it's all worth it. I reiterate that this will be the last story I write about glee and the first and last one I do about Supegirl. After all there are much more talented writers who deserve recognition, I only do it for fun.
This time it will be the regionals chapter and New Directions will compete against two surprise choirs that will be revealed in the chapter, in addition there will be unexpected judges, also they will have to compete against the ruthless Jean Baptiste (Skylar Austin) the lead of Throat Explosion.
Without any further, let's get started.
Rachel walks into the choir room, it's totally empty so she takes that moment to think. She walks over to the piano, opens the lid and slides her fingers across the keys.
(Rachel starts playing "Love song" by Sara Barellies feeling inspired as she sings confidently, it's no one there except herself and the band who join her in the song playing the instruments)

"That was great," Marley said laughing when they both finished singing.
"I know, we should do it more often," Rachel said. "It's been a long time since we sang together since our audition for the musical doesn't count"
"The first time we sang together "New york state of mind "was when I joined the glee cub in freshman year" Marley remembered with a smile.
Who would´ve thought that that day we would become best friends?" Marley said, leaning her head on Rachel's shoulder.
"We haven't been spending time together lately," Rachel said. "And I miss that, last time we sang the amazing song that you wrote with Olivia and Danielle and then a little bird told me that you went to Josh's house and helped him write a beautiful song for Michelle"
"Josh is an amazing and cool guy" said Marley. "He is very talented and he told me that Finn recruited him to join the glee club"
"I know, they sang a Harry Styles song" Rachel commented. "He actually reminds me of Finn, only he's a lot more shy."
"And by the way, who told you I helped Josh write a song for Michelle?" Marley asked.
"It was Josh," Rachel told her. "The other day Finn and I had a double date with him and Michelle, we had dinner at Breadstix"
"There you are, I've been looking for you everywhere" said Tina entering the choir room. "Come to the auditorium, you have to see this"
"What is it Tina?" Marley asked as she and Rachel got up from the piano bench and they walked out the choir room and followed her to the auditorium.
"Danielle has a surprise prepared" Tina told them and the girls entered the auditorium where the others were already sitting in their seats.
"Thanks for coming guys" Danielle said looking at her teammates, she was wearing a velvet coat that covered her body and silk gloves, her red hair falling in resplendent waves.
"Why is Danielle dressed like a 1940's movie star?" Finn asked.
"I have something to show you," Danielle said. "My ankle is better now so I can dance again" she added with a smile. "and I asked Mike and Josh to help me with the choreography" she then walked towards the band and politely asked them to start playing the instruments.
(The villain I appear to be by Connor Spiotto starts playing, Danielle starts singing softly as she moves delicately as a ballerina, the band keeps playing the jazz music as that the curtain opens and a screen is shown with the scenery of a circa 1940s New Orleans)

(The beat accelerates as Danielle starts dancing incredibly with Mike and Josh, New Directions cheer excitedly as they see her singing and dancing)

"Woo!" New Directions cheered and got up from their seats to clap after the glamorous jazz number.
"Danielle, that was glamorous," Kurt said with a big smile.
"It literally felt like '40s jazz," Amanda added in surprise.
"How did you come up with that musical number?" Sebastian asked.
"We were just inspired by the movies The Great Gatsby and La La Land," Josh said with a smile. "jazz steps are easy to learn, the tricky thing is the tap"
"That's what Danielle is good at," Mike said.
"I agree that choreography was amazing, but no one realized that Danielle can dance now," Olivia added excitedly. "that's a great process"
We are proud of you Dani" Rachel said, reaching out to hug her friend as she, Mike and Josh walked off the stage. "You deserve to dance on stage"
"The best thing is that I'll do it with you" Danielle said smiling. "I don't plan to go back to the hell that was Vocal Adrenaline"
"Well, we won't have to worry about that" Will said walking into the auditorium. "We won't compete against them until next year" everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thankfully, I'm still not over Jesse singing 'Don't stop me now' at sectionals," Ryder said nervously.
"They were good?" Marissa asked.
"You have no idea babe" Ryder replied to his girlfriend. "They almost crushed us, besides Rachel was with them"
"And it was the worst mistake I have ever made," Rachel said. "the only good thing is that I met Danielle and we became friends"
"Before we continue with the glee rehearsal, why are Danielle, Josh, and Mike dressed like they're in New Orleans circa 1940?" Will wanted to know with curiosity.
"It's a jazz number they put together because Danielle's ankle is healed," Artie explained. "And it was a clever idea"
"That redhead has amazing dance moves," said Mercedes, surprised.
"Please, Britt and I are better dancers than her," Santana said, rolling her eyes.
"I hope you didn't mean it, Santana" Josh snapped. "sarcasm doesn't suit you"
"I'm just kidding dimples, live a little" Santana told Josh with a smirk.
"Anyway," Will said.. "I thought you guys would be in the choir room but…I'll tell you who we're competing against at regionals" he pulled out a flier with the choir competition schedule. "first is Throat Explosion, from Fort Wayne Indiana"
"I thought Aural Intensity was from there" Tina said, confused.
"No, also Throat Explosion" Will continued. "Their leader is called Jean Baptiste and he is tougher than Jesse "
"We're doomed," Puck said. "He's going to kick our asses"
"We have the original song from Marley and Olivia, plus we got Rachel back. We can handle them" Brittany told him.
"That's the smartest thing you've ever said Brittany," Ryder told her softly.
"I'm a genius, it's just that the world doesn't understand geniuses" Brittany said with a shrug.
Then we have the Warblers from Dalton Academy" Will continue reading the brochure. "the lead is Blaine Anderson"
"Isn't he the cute guy Kurt met at the music store?" Danielle asked.
"Dude, are you dating the competition?" Finn was outraged.
"Blaine is a great guy," Kurt said. "and we're barely getting to know each other"
"How many dates have you had?" Mercedes asked.
"Three?" Kurt asked. "but he is not like Jesse, he would never use me"
"Why do we always compete last?" Amanda asked, getting back to the topic.
"To give the other choirs a chance," Marley explained. "Actually last year we competed first in the sectionals and in the regionals it was our turn after The Harmonies"
"Were there Nationals?" Olivia asked.
"No, unfortunately we lost regionals," Finn said. "It was the first time that Vocal Adrenaline beat us"
"It's a miracle that we've made it all the way to nationals now," Mercedes said.
Only if we win regionals," Will reminded Mercedes.
"We'll make it," Rachel said with a smile. "we have new voices, talented dancers and we have the set list this time"
"Did anyone find out what happened to the song list that was stolen?" Amanda asked.
"Well aside from Quinn Fabray and her trusty sidekick being suspended for a month, Aural Intensity got disqualified for cheating and won't be able to compete for six months," Santana said with a proud smirk. "That means that I´m now the captain of the cheerios," she adds, clapping.
"Congratulations Santana, you deserve it" Rachel says to the Latina.
"Thanks Berry, I think that was the nicest thing you've said to me so far" she added with a smile. "when you don't try to steal all the solos and you're annoying"
"I accept it," Rachel said with a smile. "Well, what are we waiting for? The regionals are waiting for us. Come on, come on, come on" she added, clapping her hands. "time is running out"
"Old Rachel Berry is back," Kurt told his classmates as they all left the classroom and the school, heading to the bus that would take them to the competition.
Josh, wait!" Michelle said running towards her boyfriend and everyone stopped.
"We'll leave you guys alone" Olivia said and they all got on the bus.
"What's up beautiful?" Josh asked.
"I just wanted to wish you and the glee club good luck at regionals. I hope you win first place," Michelle said sweetly.
"You're not coming?" Josh asked sadly.
"Unfortunately I can't, I have to dissect a frog by myself since Natalie caught a cold," said Michelle. "but you will tell me everything when you come back"
"I'm going to miss you" Josh told her, hugging her. "When I was kidnapped I thought I would never see you again"
"You won't get rid of me that easily Josh Peterson" Michelle assured with a smile. "Come on, go, I don't want you guys to be late any longer because of me"
"I love you" Josh told her looking into her eyes.
"I love you too" Michelle reciprocated and the two teenagers began to kiss passionately.
"Hey sis, sorry for interrupting this rom-com but I'll steal your boyfriend," Mike said, putting his hand on his little sister's shoulder. "Come on Josh, we'll be late for the competition"
"I'm coming" Josh told Mike and then he looked at his girlfriend. "well, I'm leaving now"
"Break a leg" Michelle told him with a smile and added seriously. "not literally"
"Don't worry, I know what it means" Josh assured her and left with Mike while Michelle watched them walk away with a smile and went back to the school.
"are you okay?" Amanda asked Artie as they both got on the bus and she was pushing his wheelchair.
"I'm fine, it's not the first time I've been on the bus" Artie assured him with a smile. "also, this one has a ramp"
"Very clever," Amanda told him with a smile. "Come on, I saved you a seat" Artie nodded and they went to sit down.
"We're going to regionals!" Will said with a smile and all the boys cheered.
"Stop" Mike yelled and the driver opened the doors so he and Josh could get in. "Thank you"
"Just in time, we were about to leave," Danielle said jokingly.
"And miss regionals? No kidding" Josh added and they all laughed.
"Hey, why is everything so boring? This should be a party" said Mercedes, smiling.
"You can't sing and dance on a bus, Aretha," Puck told Mercedes.
"Says who?" Mercedes said and looked at Josh. "Hey Josh, turn on the radio. Let's liven things up a bit"
(Josh nods and turns on the radio, Mercedes, Santana and Brittany start singing and dancing while the driver starts driving the bus towards the competition, all the members of New Directions and Will look at them with interest)

"How weird those kids are" whispered the bus driver but he smiled anyway, although he didn't confess it out loud, he enjoyed the impromptu group number.
An hour later, they arrived at the place where the regionals would take place and all the choirs were already with their coaches.
"Okay guys, wait here while I go check us in" Will told his students and went to the reception to register the choir.
"Well, well, well,, but it's the high school kids who are going to make a fool of themselves on stage" Jean Baptiste, the leader of Throat Explosion said approaching New Directions.
"And who the hell are you?" Santana said. "I've never seen you in my life and I'm not interested in meeting you"
"I'm Jean Baptiste, diabla" Jean told her. "the leader of Throat Explosion"
"We don't give a damn who you are dude" Puck told him. "You're just a rich kid with delusions of grandeur who's afraid of losing."
"please, you?" Jean scoffed. "You are nothing, compared to my choir. I will tear you to pieces"
Save your threats for the competition Jean" Marley told him.. "and go with your envy elsewhere"
"Oh right, you're the girl with the fat mom," Jean said. "I don't understand how you could get out of that, your mother is a whale that should be in danger of extinction"
"Don't you dare insult my girlfriend and her mom" Sebastian walked towards Jean clenching his fists. "or I'll break your perfect face so that you can't compete, how does that sound?"
"Easy Sebastian" Josh whispered, touching Sebastian's shoulder.
"No need," said Finn with a confident smile. "this guy will make a fool of himself when we rub the first place trophy on his face"
"Whatever" Jean said, rolling his eyes and walking away.
"Quitter!" Rachel screamed.
Don't listen to that guy, he's envious" Olivia assured her teammates. "Sooner or later karma will catch up with him"
"Olivia, I appreciate your enthusiasm but it's a very different thing that he threatened us and another that he insulted Marley and her mom" Sebastian said angrily. "I won't let him, you would've let me punch him on the face"
"Leave the punches to me dude" Puck told him.
"You'd go to juvie again," Tina reminded him and Puck sighs in surrender.
"Not to mention that any act of violence and aggression is reason for disqualification" added Danielle and everyone looked at her. "I don't say it, it says it in the show choir regulations" showed the book.
"Why did you do that?" Marley asked her boyfriend when they walked towards the dressing room to get ready for the competition.
"What do you mean?" Sebastian asked her.
"Defending my mom and me from Jean Baptiste," Marley told him. "you didn´t have to do it"
"I did it because I love you Marley, you and your mom are amazing and a stupid and ignorant boy shouldn't talk about you like that, much less make fun of your mom's weight, that's the least important thing" Sebastian told her. "I care about you and I want you to be okay"
"I'm okay now" Marley smiles at him and wraps her arms around his neck. "It is the most beautiful thing you have done for me. I don't know if I've told you before but you are the best boyfriend in the world and I am so lucky to have found you. you make me happy Sebastian"
"And I'm lucky to have such an amazing girl like you," Sebastian smiled. "so you'll have to get used to me defending you from those who try to hurt you"
"My own personal hero" Marley smiles at him and they lean to kiss softly.
Guys, we are already signed in; We're going after The Warblers" Will announced entering the dressing room and noticed that his students were getting ready, the girls putting on heels and the boys tying their ties.
"Great," Amanda said, despite the fact that she didn´t sound convinced.
"Is something wrong?" Will asked.. "At first I noticed you excited and you even danced on the bus, now you're quiet"
"Nothing, just that Jean Baptiste from Throat Explosion came to threaten us and he even insulted Marley and her mom" Josh told him. "Sebastian almost hit him if it wasn't for the fact that I stopped him in time"
"Don't listen to that guy, he wants to intimidate you into failing the performance" Will told his kids.. "But more than anything, we have to show him and his choir what we're made of. We can't let them win"
"He's right, guys," Finn told them. "Jean Baptiste just wants to see us scared and vulnerable, but we can't show him that, we have to hit him where it hurts the most"
"kick him in his royal crown jewel?" Brittany asked innocently.
"No, walking out on stage with confidence and courage," Olivia said, smiling at her teammates and teacher. "he won't see it coming" Rachel nods smiling.
"You know what? At first I was terrified but after this pep talk I feel better now" Josh said showing his dimples and everyone laughed.
"Come on, let's win this thing" Marley encourages everyone, and put their hands in the middle.
"One…two…three" Will said and they lifted their hands in the air.

The auditorium was full, which meant that the show was about to start, and the announcer introduced the program.
"Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the 2022 Regional Show Choir Competition" the audience clapped. "now presenting our panel of judges…He starred in the 2003 Cheaper by the Dozen movie as Tom Baker, co-stars with Martin Short and Selena Gomez in the new series Only murders in building; Please welcome Steve Martin" Steve got up from his seat and with a big smile waved, the audience cheer happily. "Then, she starred in the movie Pitch Perfect being the lead of The Bellas and she was Cinderella in the Disney adaptation of Into the woods, Anna Kendrick" Anna greets the audience with a sweet smile. "and then we have the star of Frozen, portraying princess Anna, Miss Kristen Bell" Kristen waves at the audience and returns to her seat. "And now, our first competitors, from Fort Wayne Indiana, Throat Explosion!"
(Jean with this choir walk confidently to the stage and start performing. New Directions watch them perform from the audience, they are really good but not that good)

The choir finished singing and the audience applauded, the judges were impressed and took note.
"Wow, they're really good," Danielle said stunned.
"Not really," Mercedes said. "That white boy might sing, but we're better"
"And now, from Dalton Academy, The Warblers!" The announcer spoke, the public applauded and the curtains opened, there was a group of uniformed boys.
"Kurt, isn't that the guy you met at the music store?" Olivia asked Kurt and he nodded.
"He looks so cute in uniform," Kurt sighed.
"Focus buddy, he's our competition" Josh said.
"Well,I dated Jesse when I was a sophomore and he was also the competition since he's on Vocal Adrenaline," Rachel said.
"Shh" her teammates whispered to Rachel telling her to shut up because the rival choir was going to start, Rachel nods and stops talking.
(The Warblers start performing, dancing and harmonizing with the acapella as Blaine, the cute guy that Kurt met looked so confident on stage and sings, the audience is enjoying the performance)

An hour later after The Warblers finished singing, the announcer named the last choir competitor.
"And now from McKinley High, The New Directions!" announced the announcer into the microphone.
"Okay guys, we got this" Will told his students as they got ready to go on stage.

When all the choirs finished competing, the judges gathered in the hall to discuss the places in which each one would be placed and their opinion about the respective performances.
"Anna, are you okay?" Steve asks as he looks at the brunette worried and hands her a box of kleenex.
"Thank you so much Mr Martin" Anna says, taking a tissue and wiping her tears. "I'm sorry, I've never been so emotional about something, but I never thought that those kids could pay me a tribute, I think... the most significant stage of my career is when I made the Pitch Perfect trilogy and... when I heard them sing that mash-up, I was transported back"
"I know, I think New Directions was great," Kristen added. "everyone sings amazing and their musical numbers make everyone smile, not like the guy who sang at the beginning, I mean... he's talented but... he doesn't cut it for New Directions"
"I have to admit, McKinley High School blew me away," Steve confessed. "For just a few teenagers, it seems that they have been singing and dancing for years, which shows"
"What about the Dalton Academy Warblers?" Anna asked. "They're in sync and their acapella is impressive, but...they dress like they're at Hogwarts."
"Well, considering they come from a boarding school," Kristen said. "but yeah I really loved how the guy who uses gel gave a great rendition of Maroon 5"
"I'm torn ladies" Steve confesses scratching his chin thoughtfully. "I mean… I loved the performance of The Warblers but ... I would lie if my vote is not for New Directions"
"I definitely vote for McKinley High," Anna said. "That tribute was the best gift I could ever´ve had and I will always be grateful"
"Okay then, let's vote" Kristen said with a smile and the three of them concentrated on voting.
And it turns out we won first place," Marley said that night as she, Kara, and Millie had a leisurely dinner.
"I'm proud of you kiddo," Kara told her sister, smiling. "I knew you would make it, you certainly have a natural talent for songwriting"
"Well actually, Olivia and I wrote this song again," Marley said. "This time it was titled Determinate, but we never imagined making Anna Kendrick cry"
"Wait...Anna Kendrick was there?" Millie asked. "actress Anna Kendrick?"
"Yeah, she was one of the judges at regionals, along with Steve Martin and Kristen Bell," Marley said. "I was excited to see Kristen, she is my favorite actress and I loved her as Anna in Frozen"
"And I love Idina Menzel," Kara said. "I hope that in the next competition she will be the judge"
"Well, since we won the sectionals and regionals, the next step is the nationals so...anything can happen," Marley said with a shrug.
"I think you deserve a break honey, summer is coming so be a normal teenager and enjoy your vacation" Millie told her with a smile.
"Actually Millie, that's what I wanted to talk to you about," Kara said. "I would like Marley to spend the summer with me in National City, so she can meet my friends and Alex"
"Can I go mom? please" begged Marley. "it has always been my dream to visit the city where my sister lives"
"I have no problem with you going but on the condition that you obey Kara and take care of yourself Marley" Millie told her. "and most importantly, that you call me and tell me everything"
"Yes, of course I do," Marley said laughing and ran to hug her mother. "thank you thank you thank you"
"You're welcome baby" Millie said, hugging her.
"I love you mom," Marley told her.
"And I love you sweetheart" Millie told her and then looked at Kara. "I wouldn't trust anyone better to take care of my Marley than you Kara, I know the two of you will spend great quality time together"
"I promise I'm going to take care of her like she's a precious cargo" Kara promised smiling. "Thank you so much Millie, for everything. I'll make sure Marley calls you every second"
"Not every once in a while" Millie said laughing. "but enough to know that he is well"
"Consider it done mom" Marley said smiling.
"I'm going to miss you so much princess" Millie told her. "you will be gone for eight weeks, the house will feel empty"
"Don't worry Millie, Marley will be back before you know it" Kara told her.
Marley smiled and decided to prepare for her vacation with her older sister; No doubt she would deeply miss her friends and her boyfriend in Lima, Ohio, but she also did not deny that she was deeply excited about the new chapter in her life.
(Marley sits on the windowsill and looks out the window at the moon and stars, thinking about her trip)
