Hey guys, I'm really thankful for the kind and positive comments in the previous chapter, in this one we go back to McKinley and I promise it will be longer.
We are already seven, yes... seven chapters away from finishing this fanfic, which I will treasure forever. In this one there will be surprises and two people return: Peyton (Grace Caroline Currey) and Jenna (Olivia Rose Keegan).
Also Artie (Kevin McHale) will develop a crush on the pretty and sweet Amanda (Dove Cameron)
New Directions find out that their competition at Nationals is Frida Romero (Jessica Sanchez) the lead of the Hossierdaddies so Olivia (Olivia Rodrigo) and Danielle (Nathalia Ramos) will cheer the spirit of their teammates.

Chapter 20.-Unexpected twist
On the last day of summer before returning to the rest of the semester at McKinley, Rachel was hanging out with her cousin and they were both visiting the music store.
"I can't wait to buy the Barbra Streisand album" said Rachel excitedly. "it comes in limited edition and there are only a few left"
"Rach, you have almost a repertoire on your ipod and you want to buy the CD?" Peyton told her, smiling.
"Hey, she's my idol," Rachel told her. "I aspire to be like her when I grow up"
"I'm not saying you don't admire her but...I'll teach you how to listen to real music" Peyton said. "Come on" she took her arm and they continued walking between the vinyl albums until she found an album where Corinne Bailey Rae appears on a yellow background. "I love this singer, she's amazing"
"Corinne Bailey Rae?" Rachel asked.
"You don´t? Her voice is beautiful and I love her musical style" said Peyton, showing her cousin the album. "You have to listen to it coz, you won't regret it"
"Can we listen to the album?" Rachel asked. "I think we have to pay for it first."
"That's what I love about this store, they let you listen to the music and George is a cool owner," Peyton said smiling, then took the CD out of its cover, put it on the turntable.
(The music starts playing as Rachel starts singing "Put your records on", Peyton looks at her as they continue to listen the CD)

Rachel finished singing and everyone applauded her.
"That was great," Marissa said, smiling.
"Very nice Rachel," said Will. "How did you come to sing that song?"
"Well, yesterday I accompanied my cousin to the music store and she convinced me to listen to the Corinne Bailey Rae album," Rachel said. "it was worth it because his music is great"
"She's my favorite singer," Marley said. "I was just listening to 'Put your records on' on the plane on my way back.
"great choice girl" said Mercedes. "Corinne is very talented"
"Shall we pay tribute to her?" Josh asked suddenly.
"Good question Josh but no," said Will. "Corinne is an excellent singer however she is not as popular as Journey or George Michael, instead we will focus on rehearsing for nationals and speaking of nationals I have two important announcements to make Finn...drum roll "
Finn sat down on the bench and started playing the drums.
"The first is that the nationals will be held in Philadelphia Pennsylvania" said Will and the boys applauded.
"I can't believe it, we´re going to the city where the declaration of independence was signed" Olivia said excitedly, Finn returned to his seat.
"Also the Rocky movie happens there" added Finn.
"We got that big lug" Kurt told Finn and everyone laughed.
"that's not the only thing, my niece Andy, maybe some will remember her; will come with us" said Will.
"How can we not forget that blonde girl who also directed the musical and helped with the choreography," Santana said.
"I like Andy, she's nice," Mike said.
"I said I'd have two announcements but…there's more," said Will. "we will compete against Singaz Wit Attitude and The Hoosierdaddies"
"oh no, oh no anything but that" Danielle said panicking.
"Are you okay Danielle?" Ryder asked the redhead girl.
"No, we're doomed. Frida Romero is the leader of the Hosierdaddies and she's their unique factor" Danielle said nervously. "we are going to lose"
"Not if we rehearse," Will said.. "Frida is talented and has a great voice for such a small girl; but we have potential and we can give everything on that stage; guys I trust you and when you propose something you give your best until it comes true" The bell began to ring and all the boys gathered their things and left the choir room. "Remember that fear paralyzes you, you have to work hard to win the nationals and whatever you do, don't be intimidated by Frida Romero"
"Hey Artie, are you okay?" Olivia asked, walking over to him and putting a hand on his shoulder. "You haven't taken your eyes off Amanda the whole time"
Yes I'm fine" Artie said looking at the brunette girl who crossed her arms. "Ok I'm not"
"It shows you're terrible at lying," Olivia observed and they both laughed. "What's up?" Artie rolled over to one of the seats and Olivia sat down, even though everyone else had left the choir room, Olivia felt something was up with the friendly, wheelchair-bound, bespectacled boy who sang like Ludacris.
"Well...as you know, Amanda and I had a moment," Artie explained. "she felt sorry for me after kitty dumped me for being crippled"
"That's his problem, I think you're a great guy" Olivia told him. "and she misses out because she let go of a great prospect"
"It was the same thing Amanda told me, she was understanding and very sweet," Artie continued. "Not to mention that she's beautiful, she has the face of an angel and long blonde hair. Anyway…" he took a deep breath. "A beautiful friendship awoke between us and we sang together, but in recent days, especially when I spent my summer in California taking a film class, I started to develop feelings towards Amanda and I couldn't get her out of my mind"
"Dude, that's amazing" Olivia smiles widely. "You two are adorable and would be perfect together. you have to tell Amanda that you have a crush on her"
It's not that simple Olivia, Amanda would never notice someone like me" said Artie. "what she feels for me is strictly platonic and she only sees me as her friend"
"You have nothing to lose by trying," Olivia encouraged. "Do you remember that Mr. Schue gave us the assignment about chances? well... now it's your turn, if you don't tell Amanda how you really feel, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. but I'm sure that she also feels the same towards you"
"How are you so sure?" asked Artie.
"Because I've seen her," Olivia said. "and her look says it all, maybe...she's shy and nervous when you're around, but you'll never know if you don't talk to her"
"I don't know," Artie said. "I'm afraid of being rejected. My first girlfriend was Tina and it didn't turn out well, she fell in love with Mike so Brittany convinced me to give her my virginity to forget her and I felt used too."
"Okay I didn't need to know that" Olivia said, clearing her throat. "Amanda is not like Tina, Brittany or Kitty; she would be incapable of hurting you. At least give her a chance"
"Can you give me a minute to think about it?" Arty asked him.
"Sure, take all the time you want," Olivia told him. "but if things don't work out between you and her, maybe we can hang out as friends"
"That would be great," Artie smiled. "Thank you Olivia"
"You're welcome" smiled Olivia patting him on the shoulder and she left the choir room.
(Artie rolls out of the choir room and looks straight ahead sadly, he sees Amanda talking to Tina, Mercedes, Brittany and Marley in the distance. he continues to look at her longingly)

Artie finished singing and with a sigh he rolled away from the auditorium, what he didn't know is that Amanda had seen everything and looked at him with immense love.
"If only you knew that I do notice you," Amanda said sadly. "I really like you Artie"
"Holy moly," Olivia whispered as Amanda got up from her seat and walked out of the auditorium. "I knew it; Amanda has a crush on Artie '' she adds with a smile and leaves the balcony.
"I missed you so much over the summer," Sebastian said as he and Marley walked through the school hallways hand in hand. "Making a video call was not the same"
"I know, and although I had a lot of fun with Kara, I met her adoptive family and her friends, I really missed you" said Marley stopping at her locker and opening it to put some books. "what if you come to my house on friday night, my mom will not be there"
"Marley...are you asking me what I think it is?" Sebastian's eyes widened, although he wanted to have his first time with his girlfriend, he was a gentleman and he wanted to go slow.
"No silly," Marley laughed. "I'm not ready to have sex yet." Sebastian sighed in relief. "We've been dating for a while but... I want to go slow. What I meant is... we can watch movies or play board games"
"I have a better idea," Sebastian said with a smile and showed Marley some tickets. "beautiful Marley Rose, how about you be my date to a dance?"
"Oh my God, you signed us up for tango classes" Marley said smiling. "I always wanted to learn to dance it, I find it very elegant and so romantic"
"My princess, your wishes are orders" Sebastian smiled and leaned down to give Marley a sweet kiss on the mouth.
"I'm so excited," Marley said smiling. "I will dance tango with my amazing and handsome boyfriend, I couldn't ask for anything better"
Hey, you guys have to come to the choir room" Marissa said as she walked over to Sebastian and Marley, who were about to kiss.
"What's wrong Marissa?" Marley asked.
"It's not a good thing, that's for sure," Marissa said and Sebastian and Marley followed her; in the choir room were Finn, Rachel, Kurt, Mercedes, Artie, Tina, Brittany, Santana, Puck, and Josh.
"You have to see this," Amanda said. "Frida Romero is quite talented and everything indicates that she paints for the winner in the nationals" she added moving her finger on the laptop and playing a video, in which Frida was seen singing a hit.
In the video, Frida is at sectionals with her choir performing "Play",she is singing and dancing incredible.

"Alright, stop! stop! stop!" Rachel yelled as she paused the video.
"Oh my God" Kurt exclaimed with his eyes widened. "Oh…my…God"
"Oh hell to the no! that girl didn´t sang JLO" Mercedes says upset.
"No! why God?!" Tina shrieked.
"Did you just see what I did?" Amanda said. "It was crazy; she may be small but she can sing"
"Guys, I don't want to be pessimistic but we have a big problem," said Finn, looking nervous.
"What's going on here?" Olivia said as she and Danielle entered the choir room and saw their classmates looking intimidated.
"Maybe we've seen a video of Frida Romero," Marley said.
"The chick did an amazing performance of "Play" at her sectionals," Puck commented. "I don't know how we are going to compete against her"
"Do you want to see it?" Brittany asks innocently, turning the laptop around so that Danielle and Olivia could see the video that was paused.
"Okay, that's enough," Danielle said. "Perhaps a while ago I was nervous because we will face Frida in the Nationals, but it's not to worry"
"If you had seen the same thing as us, you wouldn't be so optimistic," Santana said.
"It's clear that Frida is talented and we can't win against her," said Josh.
"Enough of the pity party" Olivia said looking at her teammates. "Yes, there will be people more talented than us, but we shouldn't be intimidated by that. There are a lot of voices in this choir room that deserve to be heard, incredible dancers like Mike, Santana or Brittany, Finn's leadership and... for some of us we have a year left, and others will graduate from McKinley. we can't let fear get the best of us, we have to be strong"
I'm sorry, but we're not in the mood for the pep talk Oli" Rachel said. "I'll give you ten for the effort"
"We'll have to do something about it," Danielle said. "Finn, we need you on drums." Finn got up from his seat and went to sit in front of the drums.
"What are you up to?" Mercedes asked.
"Danielle and I will bring the optimistic spirit back to this choir room" Olivia said, wrapping her arm around Danielle´s shoulders and looked at the band. "Hit it!"
(Finn starts playing the drums as the band starts playing "We got the beat" by The Go-Go's, Danielle and Olivia sing and dance happily looking at their teammates, Finn gives a smirk at the girls as he plays the drums; The rest of New Directions smile and start dancing around the choir room)

Everyone stopped singing when Will started clapping.

"How long have you been standing there?" Artie asked.
"Enough and I must say that's the spirit" said Will. "Frida may have talent but there is something she doesn't have"
"Finn's dancing" Brittany said and everyone laughed.
"You know, I think we can beat Frida Romero at Nationals," Josh said with a smile.
"Yeah!" they all said at the same time and celebrated in the choir room.
"Group hug!" Puck said, opening his arms and everyone formed a group hug including their teacher.
"I love you guys" said Will with a smile.
"Philadelphia here we come," Marley said with a confident smile.
Days later, Josh entered the auditorium and took advantage of the fact that there was no one to sing. Despite the fact that he had already worked up the courage to sing in public, there were times when stage fright continued to haunt him, so in the auditorium he could express himself without fear of being judged.
It almost felt like deja vu, except Josh sat at the piano, didn't play guitar, and wasn't discovered by Finn.
(Josh began to play the piano solemnly and performed one of his favorite Billy Joel songs while singing from his heart, what he didn't realize was that his girlfriend was watching him with a smile)

"That was beautiful," Michelle says, walking over him. "so you also play the piano"
I took lessons when I was twelve" Josh said and looked at his girlfriend. "and thanks by the way"
"There's nothing to be thankful for, you have a great talent for music" Michelle said with a smile and then looked at him curiously. "What are you doing here by yourself? i thought you'd be in the glee club"
"I know, I...I needed a moment to think," Josh said. "I'm still not used to singing in public and here I feel that I can be myself, besides... nobody judges me"
"I understand your feeling" Michelle said. "It happens to me when I'm making necklaces or painting a portrait; yours is music as mine is art"
"Maybe one day I'll take you to an art gallery in New York or Paris," Josh said. "Oh wait! we're going to compete in Philly for Nationals and I heard there are places where art prevails, I'm sure you'll love it; it's a date" he added with a smile.
I would love to go, but I don't know if my father wants me to go to Philadelphia" Michelle said sadly. "I've never left the city by myself"
"But you wouldn't be alone, your brother is in the New Directions with me, and you and I will be together" Josh told her, seeing that Michelle remained silent and looked at the ground for a moment, he decided not to press her. "don´t worry, I get it. Just think about it, okay?" He stood up and came over to kiss her on the cheek.
"Where are you going?" Michelle asked as she saw Josh get off the stage and walk out of the auditorium.
"I have French class," Josh said. "see you later"
"I love you" Michelle said but saw that her boyfriend had already left. "bye Josh" she sighed and walked away from the auditorium as well.
Why do you think Jenna wants to meet us in the parking lot?" Danielle asked as she and Rachel walked out of the school.
"I don't know, but it gives me a bad feeling," Danielle said. "It's best if we confront her and make her go away. After all, we have nothing to lose."
"Yeah, you're right. The quicker we get this over with the better" Rachel said and they both walked out of the school towards the parking lot.
Meanwhile, Olivia silently followed them like a shadow to find out where her friends were going, so if they were in danger she could warn them before it was too late.
Wow, wow, wow. I didn't think you decided to come" Jenna said with an evil smile. "hello traitors"
"Okay Jenna, get to the point for once. What the hell do you want?" Danielle said annoyed and crossed her arms.
"Simple dear carrot," Jenna said. "I'll teach you and that gonzo-nosed midget a lesson for quitting Vocal Adrenaline."
"Wait a second, you're not in Vocal Adrenaline anymore" Rachel said confused. "Miss Corcoran kicked you out"
"Yes, Berry, but Corcoran was fired," Jenna said. "In her place is the handsome and talented Dustin Gooldsby, he and my father are friends. Surprised?"
"what the…?" Danielle was in shock.
"You two messed with me, now face the consequences" Jenna snapped her fingers and a group formed around Danielle and Rachel. "Guys, show these losers what happens when they betray the team."
"Rachel, Danielle…look out!" Olivia screamed trying to warn them they were in a trap.
"How do you like eggs? fried or boiled?" asked Giselle with a smirk.
"Noooo!" Olivia screamed in terror seeing how her friends were being egged by Vocal Adrenaline.
All the members including Jenna started throwing eggs at Rachel and Danielle mercilessly.
"Welcome to Losertown you freaks!" Giselle yelled and everyone made fun of them.
"You will never get away with it!" Olivia yelled, glaring at Jenna and her cronies. "You will regret what you did to my friends"
"Let's get out of here, it stinks of failure" Andrea said and they all followed her in single file.
"Oh my God" Olivia exclaimed and ran to take the eggshells from her friends. "Are you guys okay?"
"Now...nightmares of all of the mothers of the little baby chicks are coming after me for revenge" Rachel says scared and vulnerable.
"Great, now I'll stink of eggs all day," said Danielle. "and my grandmother's sweater is ruined; Jenna is a disgusting bitch"
"It was a trap," Olivia said. "come with me, I'll take you to wash and change clothes"
"We should never have trusted her," Rachel said. "It is clear that I will never return to Vocal Adrenaline, it was a mistake"
"There's something you need to know," Olivia said an hour later as she gathered Finn, Marley, Kurt, Puck, Mike, Santana, Josh, Mercedes, Amanda, Artie and Brittany in the choir room. "Jenna and her cronies attacked Danielle and Rachel in the school parking lot with a sinister trap, accused of treason and had eggs thrown at them"
"What?!" everyone protested.
"I'm going Lima Heights on her ass" snapped Santana upset. "I'll be happy to break that bitch's nose and her sidekicks are the next on my list"
"What the hell?!" Josh said annoyed. "First Jenna shouldn't even be on Vocal Adrenaline, Shelby Corcoran kicked her out"
"Well not anymore, she got fired and Jenna's dad's friend reinstated her" Olivia explained.
""What's the best way to mess up that white girl's face?!" Mercedes says clenching his fist. "I'll rip the extensions off that cheap Barbie copy myself."
"Guys this is serious, we have to do something and we can't give up without a fight" Marley says getting up from the seat and standing next to Olivia. "Rachel and Danielle are one of us"
"Vocal Adrenaline will wish they hadn't messed with us" Josh said. "I'm sick of the injustice, Rachel and Danielle didn't deserve this."
"I agree, less talking and more punching," Finn said. "Rachel is my girlfriend and I will protect her from anyone who wants to hurt her"
I think violence is not the solution Finn" said Amanda.
"It is, if Vocal Adrenaline wants to turn Rachel and Danielle into Omelets" Finn answered.
"I have something better, a very clever plan" Olivia said. "a way to teach those brats a lesson without having to resort to beatings"
How about we challenge them to a sing-off?" Artie suggested. "Whoever wins will never set foot in this school again and they will never compete."
"I like that idea, it's clever," Amanda said, giving Artie a high five.
"Great idea Artie" smiled Olivia. "Those who are in favor of going to beat up Vocal Adrenaline?" she added and Finn, Santana and Mercedes raised their hands.
"Those who are in favor of the sing-off?" Kurt asked, raising his hand, Olivia seconded him, then joined by Josh, Amanda, Artie, Marley and Brittany. "Sorry, the majority has spoken"
"the hits were more fun, do you really expect everything to be resolved with magical songs?" asked Santana. "we don't live in a country where everything is a musical"
"I think it's a clever idea and we'll teach Vocal Adrenaline a lesson" said Olivia. "Marley and Amanda, you guys go get Rachel and Danielle. We'll do the rest."
"Okay guys, let's go" Josh said and they all followed him out in single file.
An hour later, the guys from New Directions walked through the Carmel High facility to take on Vocal Adrenaline.
"Anyone feel like deja vu?" Kurt asked.
"Wait, are you telling me you've been here before?" Tina asked.

"Checkmate gremlins!" yells Danielle excitedly and then looks at her peers. "come on guys, let's get out of here"
"Gladly" Puck said as everyone left the auditorium of Vocal Adrenaline and leaving Vocal Adrenaline as well totally humiliated.
After leaving Carmel High School, everyone laughed triumphantly and headed out to the parking lot to head back to McKinley.
"That was awesome," said Marley laughing.
"I know, Jenna and her sidekick won't mess with us again," Tina said. "I will never forget their faces, they were humiliated"
"Who came up with that prank about putting the paint in a bucket and pulling the rope Carrie-style without the pig's blood?" Josh asked.
"Obviously me," Santana said with a smirk. "you´re welcome"
"wait...was that you?" Sebastian asked, his eyes widening.
"Look, I'm not a bitch for nothing," Santana said. "I know that sometimes I'm sarcastic and I like to insult, but I don't like it when they mess with my friends"
"Aww thanks Santana for defending our honor" Rachel said.
"Berry, you are one of us and we can only humiliate you" Santana said with a smirk.
"I'll take that as a compliment," Rachel said smiling.
"Do you think Vocal Adrenaline will enter the show choir competition after this?" Amanda asked.
"I don't think so, we made a bet," said Puck. "The losers would never mess with us or compete anymore. it is clear that Vocal Adrenaline is history"
"I have to be honest, the sing-off was the smartest thing," Danielle said. "Even if I don't like Vocal Adrenaline, I'd feel pretty bad if they ended up in the hospital" they all laughed at Danielle's comment and got in their cars to go back to their school and tell their glee teacher everything.
The day of the date came, Kara was fixing up her sister by curling her hair and applying makeup as she and her brother-in-law were taking tango lessons.
"You don't have to do this Kara" Marley told her when her sister finished curling the ends of her hair and turned off the curling iron.
"It's my duty as your sister to prepare you for your date with your boyfriend," Kara said. "oh Marls, you look like a goddess. people who see you will not believe that you are sixteen"
"You're so nice but there's only one person I want to impress," Marley said shyly.
"When Sebastian sees you he will be at your feet, I assure you of that" Kara told her little sister. "You don't have to be nervous, okay? You look beautiful and Sebastian is going to adore you."
"What makes me nervous the most is dancing tango, I'm afraid of making mistakes in the dance moves" confessed Marley.
"Just relax and let it flow," Kara said. "tango is characterized by being an extremely romantic dance, and what better dance partner than Sebastian Smythe"
"Well, you're right about that," smiled Marley.
"Fun fact," Kara told her with a smile. "tango is from Argentina"
"Wow, really?" Marley asked. "Where did you learn that?"
"Because once I traveled to Argentina and I saw it live," said Kara.
"Marley honey, your date is here" Millie said entering the room and saw her daughter completely transformed, wearing a beautiful red dress, high heels, her wavy brown hair and wearing makeup. "Oh my God"
"How do I look?" Marley asked, turning around.
"You look just like Cinderella about to go to the ball" Millie said, getting emotional. "Oh my baby, you look beautiful" she approached to hug her.
"Thank you," Marley said, smiling. "well, I'd better go"
"Have fun kiddo," Kara told her. "and tell us how it went"
"Don't wait up for me," Marley told her mother and sister.
"See you at home at 10" Millie said seriously. "not at twelve"
"I'll be back at 10" promised Marley saying goodbye to Millie and Kara. "bye"
When Sebastian saw Marley come down the stairs, the scene moved in slow motion and he was captivated by her beauty, it was as if an angel descended from heaven in all her glory.
"Babe, if you don't close your mouth a fly can get in," Marley said giggling.
"Marley...whoa...you...you look...you're...you're the prettiest girl I've ever seen in my life" Sebastian said when he was finally able to speak. "I still can't believe you're my girlfriend"
"And you…are the most handsome boy I have ever seen and I am so lucky to call you mine" Marley said wrapping her arms around his neck. "love you"

"Tango classes" Marley reminded him by breaking the kiss and biting her lip.

Finn and Rachel collapsed on Rachel's bed after making intense love three times.
"Wow Finn…that was it" Rachel said breathing heavily.

Rachel laughed as her boyfriend put his boxers back on and walked barefoot to the bathroom, apparently everything was fine until Finn let out an scream of terror.
"Oh my God No!" Finn screamed and Rachel pulled the covers over her naked body and walked to the bathroom door.
"Finn? What's wrong?" Rachel asked him.
Finn opened the door, looking pale as a sheet and in shock, holding the condom in trembling hands.
"The condom broke…" Finn whispered, his eyes glassy and showing terror.
Rachel saw black around her and fell senseless to the ground. Finn, horrified and with tears in his eyes, took the body of his girlfriend in his arms, thinking that he had killed her.
