Welcome back bitches, bros, and nonbinary hoes! (Am i saying that right?) Wow you guys, a little after two weeks and already over 900+ readers! I feel honored, truly, thank you, So first things first, a friend of mine read the first two chapters, and told me I was misspelling Gaara's name. So I'll try and do it right from here on. Secondly three chapters in and I've already come up with so many plans for this story, happening beginning, middle, and end. Third thing, silverkingofgames would do this thing where he talked to the characters at the start and end of his chapters, and I think it's cool what do you guys think?

Anyways to the chapter review thing: In the last chapter Minato and the gang headed to Suna, where surprise surprise they where ambushed, Naruto fell in a hole and and found his zanpakuto and talked to the Kyuubi for the first time. I have an idea of what it's name, shikai and bankai could be but I'd be really interested to know what you all think.

Chapter 3 - A Plan Forms

"Woah you're really tall." Naruto was looking up at the huge fox in wonderment "are you the Kyuubi?"

The fox snorted "That's what you humans call me yes. And what is your name?"

"Oh my name is Naruto, my grandpa Sarutobi sealed you in me when I was born."

"Yes I know I was there. Though I figured I'd be seeing you when you were older. Seriously why were you fighting scorpions four or five times bigger than you?"

"I fell in a hole." The way he said it so matter of factly made a sweat drop was form on the Kyuubi's head. this was not the way he thought his first time conversating with his jailor would go. Seriously what three year old wouldn't be terrified when seeing a giant, well anything, for the first time?

"Right, well you used my power and sure showed it who was boss yeah?"

"Oh that was your power? Thanks for that. You're a lot nicer than everyone says you are."

"Really? And what does every one else say?"

"Well most of the adults don't talk to me about it, but those who do say you're evil and mean. All my dad says is that you weren't yourself."

"Well you tell your dad THAT THE NEXT TIME I SEE THAT ASSHOLE I'M GOING TO EAT HIM WHOLE!" Naruto flinched when the Kyuubi started screaming and the fox had to remind himself he was dealing with a literal three year old "Sorry. I'm still a little sore about this."

"That's fine, I think I'd be upset if dad put me in timeout for the rest of my life. Hey I have a question."

"What human?"

"What's your name?"

"Excuse me?" A thousand things kids might want to ask a being of untold destructive power, and his name was not on the top ten.

"Well you just said that humans call you the Kyuubi. But what do you call you?"

"Your a perceptive brat aren't you?"

"I'm percentive?"

"Right, ask me that again when you're older and I actually respect you. Now go away, I'm trying to sleep." The Kyuubi lowered himself to go back to his nap. Naruto frowned, he didn't like that. Well if the Fox wasn't going to do anything, he would. The Kyuubi opened one eye as he felt something on his flank. What he felt was a three year old climbing his left leg. "What are you doing brat?"

Naruto, somehow, managed the climb to the top of the Kyuubi. His fur was really soft. "Well I'm not going anywhere until you tell me your name."

The Kyuubi snorted "You're going to be waiting a long time."

Naruto made his way to the Fox's brow, where he sat down. "Well I don't know where I am, or where I can go, so I'm fine waiting here. You're really warm."

"I'm the element of fire given a physical form. Of course I'm going to be warm. And I..hey are you listening to me? Hey did..did you fall asleep on me?!" There was no response from the child on top of him "I guess this is acceptable, at least he's no longer talking to me."

"MMMmmmm" Naruto groaned as light flitted across his closed eyes. "Five more minutes, the fox is warm."

"What's this about a fox?"

"Daaad I said five more..dad?"

Naruto sat up, rubbing the tired from his eyes, he was in a very nice looking room, it eas made of some form of sand stone and there was carpets on the floor. He was on a futon and his dad was there, at the end smiling at him. "I told you I'd be here when you woke up. Now did you say something about a fox?"

"Oh I met the Kyuubi Dad!"

"Really?" Though Minato didn't show it he was both very intrigued and worried. He had hoped Naruto wouldn't meet the fox well... ever, but realistically until he was at least a gennin and he and Jiraiya could help him with his training. "Did the fox have anything interesting to say?"

"He said that he was going to eat you whole, and that he wouldn't tell me his name until he respected me."

"Well then" Minato faked a pretty good chuckle "now you have something to work towards."

"Hey Dad where are we?"

"Oh this is the Kazekage's manor in Suna. You were asleep for two whole days you know."

"Where is Gaara?"

"Oh well you remember how we talked about Garra becoming a jinchuriki like you? Well Rasa wanted to get that done as soon as possible, so their over at the hospital seeing how Gaara is. They did the sealing yesterday."

"What? They did that without me? Come on Dad" Naruto shot up and grabbed Minato's hand pulling him towards the door "we have to go check on her."

"Right and do you even know where the hospital is at? Or how to get out of this house first?"

"Umm" Naruto looked out the door, there was a hallway leading either way but he couldn't see where they went. "How do you get to the hospital?"

"Come on you, you're taking a bath before you go anywhere, you still smell like a desert scorpion."

When all was said and done, Naruto was wearing a tan colored shirt with matching shorts, and he was wearing the bamboo hat from before. Or maybe it was a different one but he didn't care. He ran down a the hallway "come on dad, let's... ow!"

Looking behind him, Naruto didn't see the boy that had just turned the corner and ran face first into his chest. "Hey are you okay? You're the Hokage's kid right?" He was wearing a black body suit and had weird purple makeup on.

"Yeah who are you?"

"Oh my name's Kankuro, I'm Gaara's older brother."

"Oh I didn't know Gaara had siblings, that's awesome. Why aren't you with her?"

"well our older sister Temari is with her and I get to watch the house while they're out."

"Cool, why are you wearing make up?"

"It's not make up it's war paint, got it! It's cool!"

"War paint? Does that mean your a ninja?!"

"Well I just started at the academy but yeah I'm basically a kage level ninja already." Kankuro went through a few sloppy taijutsu katas and Naruto laughed.

"Oh hello Kankuro, sorry about Naruto but I'm glad to see you getting along."

"Thank you Lord Hokage. Father couldn't stress enough how we were supposed to be on our best behavior. Are you all going to see Gaara at the hospital?"

"Yes we are, you going to be okay by yourself?"

"Baki-sensei should be around here somewhere so I won't really be by myself."

"Alright then, we're heading out you be careful."

Naruto was in absolute awe of Suna, it was in a valley, surrounded on all sides by high jutting cliffs. The many houses that lined the streets seemed to be made of clay or sandstone. Though it was really hot out, the many inhabitants of Suna didn't seem to notice, going about their lives. Though he and his father were getting some strange looks. It might have been because of the three anbu flanking them.

"Hey dad, how did the sealing go anyways?"

"What do you mean Naruto?"

"Well I know the Kyuubi attacked and that's why he was sealed in me."

"Oh. Well you see Naruto, the Kazekage have these super strong pots that they keep the Ichibi in. So it was very simple to transfer the Ichibi from that pot and into Garra."

"But how did Uncle Toady do it?"

Minato sweat dropped, even though he said it was simple the truth was anything but that. They had actually gone several miles away from Suna, followed by no less than a hundred Suna shinobi in case something went wrong and the exact seal formation Jiraiya used was truly the work of a master, but Chiyo wasn't to bad either. "I think the how is a little advanced for you son. How about when your older okay?"

"Okay fine, um...how is Gaara anyways?"

"That girl is something, I'll tell you what. If she was scared she didn't show it, and from what I last heard she was doing okay."

the hospital wasn't one single building, but three four story buildings quartered together. It didn't take them long to find the right one. Naruto ran into the room and smiled at Gaara, she was in a hospital gown and sported a new feature on her face. Her seal was on her temple above her right eye, in the Kanji for love.

"Hey Garra how are you?"

"Oh you're here. Hello Naruto."

"Oh is that your seal it looks really cool."

Minato stepped over to Rasa who was seated in a corner, going over some notes, up until they had gone in Rasa had been entertaining both of his daughters by controlling small amount of golden sand. "Hey Rasa how is she?"

"Well according to our seal masters, the seal is holding steady and the Ichibi's chakra seems to be settling into her chakra coils nicely. Looks like everything went smoothly. But the biggest thing I was worried about was how the Ichibi would react. It's driven it's previous host insane by whispering to them all the time, keeping them from sleeping. Most became insomniacs. But Jiraiya assures me that his seal should prevent that. He says that as Garra grow stronger she'll be able to call upon the Ichibi's power."

"Well her seal was based off of the one Naruto has, so she won't be able to do it until she learns to mold chakra, and then call upon the power of her Biju. But she can subconsciously draw that power in moment's of intense emotion, as Naruto showed us. Have you been given the master key?"

Rasa patted a scroll on his lap "yes, though I wonder when I'll be ready to give this to Garra."

"Well I planned to give Naruto his when he was a jonin, by then he should be ready I think."

"Hmm...yes I can see the sense in that. Well that's one bit of business dealt with. I think that just leaves us with making a contract for this alliance."

"Yes we should get to that, do you have someone you trust that can watch Naruto while we do this?"

"Yes, Baki is a highly skilled jonin. I have him watching my kids while they're in Suna, and eventually he'll be there sensei. I trust he can watch one more. The doctors want to watch Garra closely for a few more days, but there's no reason she cant come home now."

"Oh by the way is there any news on the Iwa shinobi or the traitor within your ranks?"

"Well the traitor was a council man, one I'm not too surprised by. He's been pushing for me to use Konoha's weakened state to our advantage."

"Well I'm glad you didn't listen to him."

Rasa shrugged "We might gave gotten a few concessions out of you, but you would have gotten back to full strength eventually. As for the two Iwa shinobi I have our best interrogator talking to him as we speak. We should have some answers soon."

"We know what the answer is, Iwa tried to assassinate us. The next question is what are we going to do about it. And I have an idea actually."

"Oh? Well then, I'm all ears." A few minutes later Rasa was staring out the window with a blank face. "Minato that's insane, the very thought...and it all hinges on a bluff!"

"Oh please Rasa, give me some credit. Only one part of the plan is a bluff."

"And our children...I'll have to run this through the council, I-" Rasa looked towards the door, there was a red haired youth no older than twenty standing there. Minato couldn't help but to notice how dead his eyes seemed. "Sasori report?"

"It's done Lord Kazekage, the Iwa shinobi broke."

Rasa rose to his feet "Take me there immediately, Minato you're more than welcome to come."

"Hey, they were there to kill me too. Can we have the children escorted back to your manor?"

Rasa leaned over "Temari, think you can handle it? Yakamaru should be around in a few minutes."

"Yeah dad, I know how to get home, it's not like there's going to be twenty ninja watch us every step. Gaara get ready to leave, and Naruto please step outside so we girls can change."

In a small room, with a small light bulb, shedding minimal light sat the Iwa nin, he didn't have any wounds that the naked eye could see, but his eyes told a story. He was staring up at the ceiling. smiling to himself, there was no light in his eyes, like he was looking at something a thousand miles away. "Dear Kami what did your interrogator do to him?"

"He attacked my Kazekage and his daughter so I broke his mind with a concoction of barbiturates and carefully controlled poisons. He may not seem like he's here, but right now he's ability to lie has been completely suppressed. Ask him anything and he won't be able to tell you anything but the truth." the red headed shinobi stated with a blank expression.

"I don't know if I approve of your methods, Sasori of the Red Sands."

Sasori shrugged "I am only doing my job. Lord Kazekage shall we commence with the interrogation?"

Rasa sat in a chair opposite pf the Iwa nin, "What's your name, rank and position within Iwa?"

"Tabe, I'm a Tokubetsu jonin specializing in earth and fire style ninjutsu. I was a border guard before being assigned to this mission."

""Why where you put on the assassination squad?"

"I was told my earth ninjutsu would be needed to navigate a sandstorm."

"And what was your mission?"

"To find and kill the Kazekage and Hokage in an ambush."

"Who gave you your mission?"

"We received word that the Kazekage had gone to Konoha the day after a missive was sent asking for assistance in attacking Konoha."

"Then what?"

"There was..." Tabe squinted his eyes, why was he saying these things? An Iwa shinobi never gave away mission details to the enemy. But they weren't the enemy. They WERE Iwa, trying to figure out what went wrong. How had they failed? "There was a guy, no one knows who he was, dressed like an anbu but his face mask wasn't that of an animal or anything, just blank."

Minato clenched his fist 'Danzo...'

"What did this mystery man want?"

"He showed up at the border and told us that the Kazekage was making an alliance with the Hokage and that they'd be doing it in Suna. We immediately reached out towards our friends in the Kazekage's inner circle and came up with ambush. His successor would have allied with Iwa and we would have done a joint invasion of Konoha."

"Who did you reach out to in Suna?"

"Council Woman Pratil, she gave us the locations of the known stopping points the Kazekage would be taking. We decided our best shot was the secondary location of the first stop. Secluded and small, perfect for an ambush."

"Where there contingencies in case the first ambush failed?"

"There was a second ambush group. I don't... I don't know if they attacked or not. If they didn't there wasn't any decent place they could effectively set up an ambush and returned to Iwa in defeat sir."

Rasa leaned forwards gritting his teeth as he continued "in all operational details, where there any mentions of the Kage bringing their children along?"

"No sir, We were just told to kill everyone. Leave no survivors. That's all I knew sir. "

"How is it that a tokubetsu jonin knows of all the details of the mission? Details not even his other men knew."

"Oh the masked shinobi told me sir, I was supposed to bring the children to them."

"Them?"

"There where four of them sir, asking me to bring them the children. I think...I think one of them tried to put me in a genjutsu."

"What was the planned rendezvous point?"

"Outside the village sir, two klicks to the east. I overheard them sir, making plans to capture the kids if the ambushed failed. One of them, the Hokage's kid he's a jinchuriki sir. I think they're after that."

Rasa looked towards Minato with worry on his face "our kids...they're in trouble."

Minato slammed his hand son the table "What did you hear? Tell me now!"

"Well only that they had schematics for the Kazekage manor and sir..sir?" Both Rasa and Minato bolted out of the door, grabbing every available ninja on the way that they could find. Leaving only Sasori and Tabe. "Am I finished here sir?"

Sasori walked over to a table, where many small knives could be found "yes you have fulfilled you obligations to Iwa."

"So what now sir? Do I get to go?"

"No, now I see what kind of art I can turn you into."

Minato and Rasa quickly ran as fast as they could. 'Dammit I forgot to give Naruto his kunai back, I don't even think he knows he dropped it' Minato thought to himself.

"Minato do you know of this?"

"They're probably Root shinobi. Ninjas trained by one of my councilmen as his secret force. They have no emotions, no empathy and they follow their orders to the death. We've never been able to capture them because they have suicide seals hidden under their tongue. But how did Danzo get them ahead of us?"

"He must have done this the day we made our deal. Why does he want our children?"

"Because they're jinchuriki. He wants to turn them into loyal weapons of Konoha and himself."

By now a total of thirteen shinobi where following the two Hokage as they made their way from the underground chambers and onto the roof tops. "Quickly everyone to my house! The people there are in danger!"

The interrogation chamber was located near the western edge of the village, and the Rasa's manor was located near the northern part, at least ten minutes away. "Rasa I'm so sorry I-"

"Save it Minato, you had no way of knowing we would both be betrayed by our council members. Besides, Baki and Yashamaru are there. Baki is one of the strongest jonin in the village, and Yashamaru has been training along side me our entire lives. Four or five shinobi won't be able to take them down easily."

Off in the distance they heard an explosion "Rasa look!" Coming from the direction of his house, all could see smoke pluming into the sky.

"Yashamaru, take the kids to the crisis room now!" Baki yelled, throwing several kunai at the ninja trying to enter the room. They had waited until the group had gotten inside before trying to attack them.

"But Baki-"

"The Kazekage's children take priority, I'll be behind you in a moment!" Baki pulled out several kunai, attached at the end by a single wire. "Suna Style: Secret Technique: Explosive Bombardment!" The kunai floated by themselves for a second before launching at the first of the ninja to enter. He brought out a tanto to deflect them, but stepped back as he saw the tags attached.

Baki smirked and made a fist, the single thread of chakra connected between him and the line pulled back, activating the tags. Two of the paper bombs where actually flash bombs, that lit up the entire room, but the other two were actual explosive tags that went off with a loud boom.

When the smoke cleared Baki was standing there, but there were three of him, each holding a kunai. "I am Baki, prime protector of the Kazekage and his family. If you think you can get past me so easily then you have another thing coming."

The Five root shinobi slowly walked in, forming a semi circle around him, one of them spoke up "that move of his will have alerted near by shinobi, so kill him or knock him out it doesn't matter, we're on a time limit here."

"Heh, three on five and caught off guard, back to a wall and no reinforcements. This is almost a fair fight." The skirmish was legendary, and would have made a great story, if not for the fact that during the fight two root ninja slipped past him. "Yashamaru look out! They're coming!" He called out, throwing one root anbu away, and block an attack from another.

Down the hall, down some stairs, behind a false wall in the laundry room, Yashamaru was helping the sand trio plus Naruto into a room "Uncle Yashamaru" Temari said in a trembling voice "what's going on?"

"I don't know Temari, but if I had to guess some people are here for Garra and Naruto and" He looked up as he heard Baki's warnning. "Look Temari I need you to be brave for me right now okay. Brave for me and your siblings, unless it's me or Baki don't open this door okay?" He pushed Temari in and closed the door.

"What do you mean Uncle? Uncle?" Temari pounded on the closed door, unable to get it to open. Yashamaru put his back to the wall and took a deep breath. He stepped out into the middle of the hallway. He uncorked two bottles on either side of his waist, letting sand fall out of them. Two of the Anbu turned the corner but stopped as they saw their next opponent.

"Move or die it's your choice?"

"Heh that's funny. You think I'm going to let you near my family? Hey do you know what my name is?"

"Your Yashamaru no Sabaku, the brother to the Kazekage, also known as the Whip of Suna."

"Correct and do you know why?" The sand that had been pooling at Yashamaru's feet rose from the ground, creating to long tendril like appendages on his back, just as long as his arms. "Now, no more talking just action!"

Temari huddled with her siblings in the back trying to comfort the shaking children. Naruto was also there, standing in the middle looking around. They could here the sounds of the fighting happening outside, but there was something...it was calling to him. It felt similar to when he was running from the scorpion. Somebody or something was trying to get his attention, he didn't know how or why, but it was coming from a closet in the corner.

Naruto walked over and opened it. He gasped, on a shelf in it's sheath was that sword. "You were the on calling? Why? How?"

"Naruto what are you saying, hey why are you over there" Temari looked over at the door, someone was trying to turn the handle. The sounds of fighting had stopped.

"It's locked" a voice said.

"Well we have to get through there, here back up I have an idea."

BANG

Temari screamed, the door had been blown off of it's hinges and those two ninja where walking in. She could see Yashimaru slumped against the wall. She shaily stood to her feet holding a kunai. "Really girly? You think that's going to do anything?" He held up the tiger sign and started flooding the room with killing intent. It had the intended effect, as Temari, Kankruo and Garra collapsed leaving only Naruto standing holding a sword.

"We have orders to bring you in alive, but our reports say you have healing abilities so don't think we won't hurt you, so you want to make this easy or hard?"

Naruto was scared, and he was shaking. 'Hey Kyuubi, can I have some power?' There was no answer to his plea. 'Come seriously, I'm in trouble here!" Again there was no answer form the fox, but a voice did answer. It was soft and feminine, it sounded kind and calm but had a certain warmth to it.

"Are you scared?"

'Huh, whose that?'

"Don't worry I won't let anyone hurt you."

'Who-who are you?'

"Some who cares. I won't let you die, I chose you after all. And I made a promise."

'Chose me? Promise? What's going on?'

"Just listen and do as I say and you will be fine okay?"

Naruto took a deep breath to calm his shaking nerves. He held the sword with both hands, holding it parallel with his face. "Oh?" Asked one of the root ninja "That almost looks like a stance. Maybe your dad's been teaching you some things after all. But it's clear you've made your choice."

Naruto steeled himself and opened his mouth to say something, not knowing this would change the course of his life forever."

Minato and Rasa finally made it to the house, in the main room where two root shinobi, dead. Baki was in the corner, he was pretty banged up, but he was breathing. Rasa ran over to him. "Baki, are you okay? talk to me, what happened?"

"Lord Kazekage" *Cough* "The crisis room, Yashamaru took the kids there when I saw him last. Go check on them."

"Get this man to a hospital stat! Don't you die Baki, that's an order!"

Baki smiled as he was carried away "Yes...sir.."

"This way to the crisis room it's just around this...corner...no...no, no no!"

The door to the crisis room was open slightly, and there was blood pooling out of it. Rasa's hands went to his side, he was numb. One of his shinobi walked up to him "I'll go check sir." He walked over and opened the door even more slightly and a very confused look came over his face. "Um...lord Kazekage, lord Hokage you may want to see this?"

"What in Kami's name?"

The room had seen better days, in the back were the sand siblings passed out still, and in either corner where two more dead root shinobi, along the front wall where the door was blood was covering almost every inch. The bodies had cuts all over them, but the scary thing was most of those cuts look liked they'd been cauterized along with what looked like second to third degree burns. But it was Naruto, standing in the center that got everyone's attention.

When Minato saw him he stopped and whispered to himself "Kushina?" For Naruto's hair had taken the same shade as his mothers and his eyes while not the emerald hers was, his had taken a darker verdant green tone. There was steam coming off him and the blade. "Naruto, what happened?"

"Oh hey dad. I was just" Naruto got confused, his hair turned yellow and his eyes returned towards there normal shade of blue. "I was, the bad people were here and the sword spoke to me and I...hey dad what happened?"

Naruto collapsed to one knee, but Minato was there to catch him before he fell all the way down, something of note that caught his eye was that some kind of seal, kanji was extending from the hilt of the sword and onto Naruto's hands and up his wrist. But they seemed to fade away too. "Okay Rasa, before anything else, I think you need to tell me what the hell this blade is."

"Yes I think it is Minato, that confirms it, let me get my notes and make sure the kids are alright and I'll tell you everything, okay?"

One hour later

Ninja came and went, the kids in a separate room, connected to Rasa's where being checked out by a medical team, but the two Kage found themselves in Rasa's private chambers. "My son is three, as happy as I am about this, there's no way in hell an untrained three year old can take on two anbu level shinobi!"

"That would be because of his zanpakuto."

"His what?"

(A/N get ready for some lore, and a lot of Rasa talking, and paragraphs I tried to do my research to keep this as accurate as possible but also had to take some creative freedom with it as well enjoy A/N)

"Okay right, it's time for a history lesson, this is going to take a minute so I suggest you sit down, and don't stop me okay?"

Minato sat down "fine I'm listening."

"Long ago when Hashirama, your first Hokage, brought together the ninja leaders of the five great nations, he tried handing out the tailed beasts to each nation, natural deterrents so they would all stop fighting. But you see Lord Reto, our first Kazekage, already had the Ichibi, so he asked for some land passed the border, green pastures and forests so that they had a resource they couldn't get in the desert."

"Right and what does this have to do with that sword?"

"I was going to get there, now please don't interrupt me. Kumo got two tailed beast, and so did Iwa. At the time Mizu had the three and six tails and Konoha at the time had the nine and four tails. Now who had what has changed since then, but Reto was happy with having the weakest of the tailed beast. Do you know why?"

"Enlighten men."

"Because he found a scroll, what was in it, who made it or how they came by this knowledge is lost to time. But on that scroll was the knowledge to make living swords."

"Living swords?"

"Swords that possessed their own soul, their own intent and purpose. There where a few of those made but, with the exception of the one Naruto has, they've been lost to Suna's deserts. These swords were unique" this is when Rasa opened up an old looking leather journal and started reading it before he continued "they each had their own abilities and they were extremely powerful. Each blade had a name, and they also had a command. Now when the command and name were spoken at the same time, these swords, these zanpakuto's , went into their second level of power. And if one managed to master their zanpakuto and beat the spirit they entered into their bankai forms. The actual number of bankai users isn't known, but each was at the time at the same level as your modern day Sannin."

"Wait, these zanpakuto sound a little like the swords used by Mizu's elite swordsmen."

Rasa chuckled "I know right, well that part of Konoha I was talking about? Well at some point some rouge ninja decided to take over that area try and disrupt the peace between Suna and Konoha. As it was Suna territory, Reto dispatched a large force of Suna nin to take care of it. With their defenses weakened, a group of Mizu nin came into the village and stole the scroll. Now the first Kazekage figured this might happen, so he tore the last few steps out of the scroll so Mizu only got part of the formula. With the incomplete formula they made the seven deadly swords of Mizu. last I heard Samehada was the closest they got to a complete zanpakuto."

"So what, Naruto found your zanpakuto and used it's power?"

"Well yes but that's where things get complicated. When a zanpakuto user dies, the sword resets sort of. Once it finds a host that it thinks is suitable, it will change to match its host. Like I said every zanpakuto is unique from user to user. That one belonged to the user who inherited Lord Reto's zanpakuto. But when he died, the blade refused to take a new master."

"So what no one used it? I mean it's still a sword after all."

"Right, I forgot to mention but only the zanpakuto's master can use it if any one else tries well, I think it'd be better to show you." Rasa stood up and grabbed the sword, he looked around before walking over to a book shelf. Taking a wide stance he swung at the bookshelf. It bounced off without a sound. "Hmm...maybe that's not a good example. Here hold on" Rasa rolled up his sleeve.

"Um, what are you, WHAT ARE YOU..huh?"

Minato screamed, Rasa had put the zanpakuto up to his exposed arm and swung the blade, but to Minato's surprise there wasn't even a scratch on him. "A zanpakuto loses it's cutting edge if anyone but it's master wields it."

"You could have just said that from the start you know, so Naruto is that Zanpakuto's new master? But why?"

"I don't know, but that's also a problem. This sword is by all rights a Suna national treasure. I'll have to talk to the council before I can let him keep it."

"Okay then. That's a lot to take in, it's going to take a minute for that to settle, um...how's your ninja and brother?"

"Yashamaru is fine, some minor wounds comparatively. Baki...I don't know, the doctor said he lost a lot of blood."

"He mentioned there were five root ninja, but we only found four. One of them got away."

"Well they attacked my family, security will be raised so he or she won't get a second chance. Probably fled to tell their master of the failure."

Rasa chuckled to himself "well then I guess the next question we have got to ask ourselves is what next? I mean, we do this alliance and then what hope Iwa backs off?"

A wicked gleam entered Minato's eyes "no, they've put my child and your child at risk twice now. Now they pay, I have an idea. But for that I need your cooperation."

"Is this the same idea you had back at the cathedral tower?"

"Yes but now it gets a little risky and we need to sign our deal first, at best we both come out better than before."

"And what is the worst case scenario?"

"There's another war."

Ooh that's scary right? It seems to be one thing after another with these ninjas, and I don't think that's going to change any time soon. I'm thinking of doing a question of the day type of thing, and the best answer gets a shout out with one of their stories maybe? I don't know I haven't decided yet, but here's the first one: What should the pairings be for everyone else? I've already decided it's going to be Naruto and Gaara, and I like the idea of Sasuke and Ino, but that could be subject to change in the future.
