A/N. The end has a blood ritual, so if that's something you're iffy on, you've been warned. Also, there's a lemon, so there's that. But that'll turn you motherfucking sinners on so I'm not as worried about that.
"Percy!" Hazel exclaimed.
Blood continued to leak out of the stab wound. The Devil was losing blood quickly.
"What do we do?" Frank asked.
"There's the store over there. We could see if they have supplies." She suggested.
They agreed to try their only option. They each took an arm and supported Percy as they dragged him to the convenience store.
Frank didn't like this at all. First, his mom dies, and after the funeral, he learns of his burden. Then he has to leave for Camp Jupiter. He gets there, and is ostracized for his preference of a bow over a sword. Then he finds out that there is an army coming for them, the news being brought by none other than the Devil himself. Then his father is revealed to be Mars. All in all, a very shitty six weeks.
And now, to top it all off, he is bringing a bleeding Devil to a closed convenience store, to see if they can rob supplies to use to fix him up.
'Don't whine.' His grandmother would say to him. 'Zhang men do not whine.'
They approached the building. It was still dark, and it seemed to be abandoned. They were only twenty feet from the door when something from the grass hissed behind them.
"Go!" Frank yelled to Hazel.
He grabbed an arrow from his quiver and shot at where he heard the noise come from. He thought he grabbed an explosive arrow, but it was only a signal flare. At least it illuminated the creature.
It was a snake about the length of his arm. It was the color of a lime. Surrounding its head was a wreath of white fins. Its eyes were large and yellow. They were trained on Frank as it slithered up the hill.
Any grass it touched died on contact. Frank heard Hazel running up the stairs. He wasn't going to turn around. That was how you die a terrible death. He kept his eyes trained on the snake. The snake hissed. Flames flew out of its mouth.
"Frank! Come on!" Hazel said.
The snake lunged at Frank. It was so sudden that he didn't have time to knock an arrow. When the snake came near him Frank swung his bow. The snake flew into the grass with a "squee".
Frank felt like celebrating. That is, until he looked at his bow. It crumbled to ash in his hand. Then he heard a hiss from where the snake landed. Then it was followed by two more further down the hill.
Frank turned around and ran for the store. He climbed the steps quickly reaching the porch. He turned around. The snakes were circling in the grass, not coming near the store.
"We're trapped." Frank moaned.
"Well. No other way than in." Hazel said, pointing at something. Frank looked. There was a sign above the store.
RAINBOW ORGANIC FOODS AND LIFESTYLES
"Well, it's better than fire breathing snakes." Frank said.
Lights came on as they stepped through the store. Flute music came over the stereo. The aisles were lined with bins full of nuts and dried fruit. There were baskets of apples. There were racks of clothes that all seemed straight out of the 70's. The ceiling had wind chimes hanging from it. Glass cases lined against the wall held crystal balls, geodes, dream catchers, and some other weird items. Incense filled their nostrils.
"Fortune-teller's shop?" Franks asked.
"I hope not." Hazel said distastefully.
A girl popped up from behind the bins of granola. "Help you?"
She reminded Frank of college-age hikers he saw from time to time in Lynn Canyon Park behind his grandmother's house. She was short and muscular, with lace up boots, cargo shorts, and a bright yellow T-shirt that read R.O.F.L. She looked young, but her hair was frizzy white, sticking out on either side of her head like the white of a giant fried egg.
Frank tried to remember how to speak. The girl's eyes were super distracting. Her irises changed color from gray to black to white.
"Uh, we have a little situation here." Frank finally got out. He gestured to Percy.
"Oh, I uh… I see." She said.
From the back of the store came another woman's voice. "Fleecy? Don't scare the customers now. Bring them here, will you?"
"Your name is Fleecy?" Hazel asked.
Fleecy laughed. "Well, in the language of the nebulae, it's actually-" She made some noises that reminded Frank of a thunderstorm. "But you can call me Fleecy."
Percy must've woken up a little bit because he spoke. "Nebulae. Cloud nymphs." He then promptly fell asleep again. Or maybe he was resting his eyes. No one could tell.
Fleecy smiled at him. "I like him. No one knows about cloud nymphs. But gee wiz, he doesn't look too good. Follow me to the back. My boss wants to meet you. We'll get your friend here fixed up."
Fleecy led them through the produce aisle, between rows of eggplants, to which Percy said 'Nice', with a grin, before his eyes fluttered closed, and other various edible plants. In the very back of the store, behind a counter with a very old fashioned cash register, stood a middle aged woman with olive skin, long black hair, rimless glasses, and a T-shirt that read: "The Goddess Is Alive!" Amber necklaces hung off of her neck, and turquoise rings shined on her fingers. She smelled like roses.
She looked friendly enough, but there was something in her smile that tipped Frank off. It took him a second to realize that her smile was exactly like his mom's.
"Hello!" She leaned over the counter. "So glad you're here. I'm Iris!"
Hazel's eyes widened. "Not THE Iris- like the rainbow goddess?"
Iris's face twisted. "Well, that is my "official job", but I don't identify myself with my corporate identity. In my spare time, I run this!" She gestured around her. "The R.O.F.L Co-op- an employee-run cooperative promoting healthy alternative lifestyles and organic foods."
Frank blinked.
"Need convincing?" Iris asked. She reached behind the counter and pulled out something. She slid it to him. It looked like a Ding-Dong ripoff. "These are gluten-free, no-sugar-added, vitamin-enriched, soy-free, goat-milk-and-seaweed-based cupcake simulations."
"All natural!" Fleecy chimed in.
"You should try one Frank. You're lactose intolerant, aren't you?"
"How did you-"
"I know a lot of things, being a messenger goddess and all."
"Well, can you help our… uh, friend?" Hazel asked.
Iris turned to look at Percy. Instantly her face went pale. She reached behind the counter and took out a spray. She sprayed him. "That should align his chakra."
Percy instantly woke up. "I smell magic." He said instantly. He turned to his side which was still leaking blood. "That's unfortunate."
He turned to see the knockoff Ding Dongs. "Those'll do."
Frank was sure that Percy was now out of his mind. Maybe he had lost so much blood that he was loopy. But then Percy grabbed them and smooshed them in his hand, package and all. It glowed for a moment, the light escaping the cracks in his hands. When he revealed what he had done, a thread and needle laid in his hand.
He took the sewing equipment and started to stitch his flash back together. He made sure to avoid stitching his suit to his skin. When he was done he took Riptide and cut the thread. He then stitched his suit shirt and waistcoat back together.
"Okay, now that I am no longer in danger of dying, let's get to business. Iris, can you do an iris-message?" Percy asked.
"What is that?" Hazel and Frank asked.
Iris sighed. "It's a form of messaging the Greeks used. The Romans never picked it up. But yes, I imagine I could. Fleecy, can you take Percy and Hazel to do that. I need to talk to Frank."
Frank wanted to go with his friends. But before he could protest, Iris roped his arm and dragged him to a table by a window. Frank set his spear on the floor. He sat across from Iris. Outside, the snakes continued to kill the grass and blow fire.
"Frank, I know how you feel." Iris said. "I imagine that half-burned stick in your pocket gets heavier every day."
Frank forgot how to breathe. His hand went to his coat, where he kept his lifeline. "How do you-"
"I told you before. I know things. I was Juno's messenger for ages. I know why she sent you a reprieve."
It was strangely close to what Percy said when they first met. I know lots of things. He had said.
"A reprieve?" Frank asked. He pulled out his firewood. He unwrapped the cloth around it. As unwieldy as Mars' spear was, the tinder was worse. Iris was correct. It weighed him down. Like his own mini sky on his shoulders.
"Juno saved you for a reason." Iris said. "She wants you to serve her plan. If she hadn't appeared that day when you were a baby and warned your mother about the firewood, you would've died. You were born with too many gifts. That sort of power tends to burn out a mortal life."
"Too many gifts! I don't have any gifts!"
"That's not true Frank." Iris swiped her hand in front of her like she was cleaning a windshield. A miniature rainbow appeared. "Look."
An image appeared in the rainbow. Frank saw himself when he was four years old. He was running across his grandmother's backyard. His mother leaned out of the window in the attic. She yelled for his attention. Frank wasn't supposed to be in the backyard by himself. He didn't know why his mother was up in the attic, but she told him to come into the house. He didn't do that and ran towards the woods. Right when he got to the edge, he came face to face with a grizzly bear.
In an instant his mother was by his side. She came between him and the bear and told him to run inside. This time he obeyed his mother's words. When he got there he turned back. The bear was gone and his mom was coming out of the forest. When Frank had asked what had happened, his mom smiled and said Mama bear just needed some directions.
The scene shifted to him and his mother having a conversation by the fireplace. She was explaining their family history to him. "You can be anything!" She told him. That line still confused him to this day.
The rainbow dissolved.
"I don't understand." Frank said.
"Your mother explained it. You can be anything." Iris said.
It sounded like something that would be on one of those stupid motivational posters. Or something a parent would say to boost their child's self esteem. But the way Iris said it, it sounded like a challenge.
Frank pressed his hand against his pants pocket where he kept his mother's sacrifice medal.
"Why are you telling me this?" He asked.
Iris spread her hands. "Do you think you have to do anything? You don't have to do what anyone tells you to do. You can be or do anything."
"I have to go." Frank said. "It's my job."
Iris sighed. "I expected that. The task ahead of you… Well I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I can at least give you some advice. I don't know where in Alaska the giants are keeping Death, but if there is anyone who would, it is the seer, Phineas. He's blind, but he can see the past, present, and future. He can tell you where death is chained."
"Wasn't there a story about him?"
"In the old days, he committed horrible crimes. Used his gift for evil. Jupiter sent harpies to plague him. The argonauts- including your ancestor-"
"The prince of Pylos?"
Iris nodded hesitantly. "Yes, Frank. Though your gift, his story, you must discover it on your own. Back to what I was saying, the Argonauts drove away the harpies in exchange for Phineas' services. While that was millennia ago, I understand many mortal souls are coming back. You'll find him in Portland. But promise me one thing. If he's still cursed with harpies, do not kill them. No matter what the man promises you."
Frank nodded.
"One last problem. If you're going to leave, you're going to need to clear those basilisks off the hill."
"The snakes?"
Iris nodded. "Their name means Little Crown. A cute name for something that isn't so cute."
"So how do I get rid of them?"
Iris looked down at the spear. Frank frowned. "It's the only way, Frank."
"How do I use it?" He asked.
"You'll have to figure that out. I'm going to go check on your friends." Iris said, getting up. "Though, one last piece of advice. You're destined to die holding your firewood, watching it burn. Perhaps you shouldn't keep it to yourself. Maybe if you trusted someone else to hold it."
Frank's mind instantly went to Hazel. But how would he confess his secret? And how could he expect her to take a burden that rivaled the one on Atlas' shoulders.
Iris walked away, leaving him alone. She was muttering something about dark energy and blood magic.
LINE BREAK
Fleecy sprayed some mist in front of a lamp. The light hit the water, making a rainbow. "Now say, oh Fleecy, do me a solid."
"I'm not doing that." Percy said.
"Then I won't make an Iris Message."
"Then I'll use other methods. Where's your bathroom?"
Fleecy didn't seem to expect that. She pointed him to it. Percy walked into it and shut the door behind him.
He stared into the mirror before summoning the blade that had stabbed him. He drew it along his palm, creating a dark red line. He dabbed his fingers into the blood and started to draw on the mirror.
First a pentagram, the symbols in the spaces between the circle and the star. He added a star of David and a Triangle with a crucifix inside. He healed the cut on his hand with some water from the sink.
The mirror began to shudder before it became blood red. It shimmered, before showing Zoë sitting on a bed in the Artemis cabin. A silver mask sat next to her.
"Zoë."
She looked at him. She smiled. "Well, look who it is. How's the quest going?"
"That's what I am calling about. I have uncovered something terrible."
Zoë's smile faded. "What?"
He held up the knife sword blade. Zoë's jaw dropped. "That bitch did not." She said.
Percy nodded. "They're tearing her feathers off her to make weapons. And they can hurt us." He pulled up his suit shirt, showing the stitching he did. "I fear what the future brings. SO I'm going to do something I should've done a long time ago."
"What?"
"I'm not going to tell you yet, but go into the woods, where Zeus' fist is. I'll be there in a minute. Love you."
"Love you."
Percy waved his hand over the image. The red screen faded, turning back into a mirror. He walked out of the bathroom. He walked into the back of the store where Hazel was waiting.
"Tell Frank that we're gonna stay here until tomorrow. I have some personal business to attend to. I shouldn't be longer than a day."
Percy spread his wings and flew through the roof. He instantly fixed it.
He landed in the woods of Camp Half-Blood a few minutes later. Zoë was waiting for him. A silver mask covered the left half of her face. She removed it upon seeing him.
"So, what are we doing here?" She asked.
Percy grabbed one of the rocks that sat on top of the pile. He punched it, creating a bowl. He placed it between them. He reached across and took a strand of her hair. He placed it into the bowl. He took the blade and slid it across his palm again. He watched as blood poured into the bowl.
When it was filled to his satisfaction, he stopped. He reached out to her. "May I?"
She obliged and lent him her hand. He slit her palm too, and poured her blood into the bowl. He grabbed some nearby grass and lit it on fire.
"You might feel a little hot." Percy said.
Zoë nodded.
He placed the flaming grass into the bowl.
Suddenly, Zoë started to feel feverish. She started to sweat. Then she started to burn. She burned away, until all that was left was a glowing figure made of light. Her features were still there, just, radiant. The world rippled, like the fabric of reality was being crumpled.
Zoë needed to control her new powers or the world would be ripped apart. There was a reason angels didn't roam Earth in their true forms.
Slowly, her body started to come back. Her form started to resemble her old one. Piece by piece, she took form. When she was done, she stood, naked, on the rocks. There was something new though. Black bat wings sprouted from her back.
"Can I get some clothes?" She asked.
Percy smiled. "I don't know. I'm quite liking the view. It's perfect actually."
Zoë smiled. "Well, my perfect view is currently obstructed."
Percy smirked as he took off his suit's coat. Zoë made her way over and sat down on his lap. She started to unbutton each button one by one. Very slowly. Teasingly. She reached the last one and smirked. She leaned up and captured his lips as she undid the last button.
Percy shrugged the shirt off, not breaking the kiss. As soon as the shirt was off his wings spread. Zoë broke the kiss. "Someone's excited."
Percy kicked off his shoes. Zoë ran a finger down his chest. "No no. Not so quickly."
She leaned down and started to kiss his neck. Percy could feel his erection growing. Zoë smirked as she bit his neck, savoring the moments. Percy wrapped his arms around her. Blood smeared on her back as his cut hand roamed her backside.
He went lower, grabbing her butt. Zoë jumped, and leaned back. She reached out and cusped his cheeks, before kissing him. She leaned him down, making him lie on the rocks. She broke the kiss and started to crawl backwards. She leaned down near his crotch. She danced her fingertips along his belt.
Percy groaned as his boner strained to break free. She finally showed some pity and started to undo his belt. She slid it off and threw it into the woods.
Zoë started to pull down his pants. Once she got them off she threw them. Percy's dick was still contained by his underwear, but it was making a considerable effort to rip the fabric. Zoë ran her hand along the outline of his dick.
Percy tried to lean up, but she was quick to put him back down. She hooked her fingers into his underwear and pulled them off. His cock jumped up, no longer bound and reaching into the air.
She placed a hand on his cock and slowly brought it up and down. Percy groaned again. Zoë, without stopping her hand, maneuvered herself to sixty-nine. She lowered her cunt onto his mouth.
"Put that sarcastic mouth of yours to good use." She said.
Her mouth fell open as she felt his tongue slide along her pussy. He traveled upwards, his teeth finding her clit. She decided to get him back and licked the head of his dick.
Percy continued to lap at her quickly moistening slit, as she began to take more of his cock into her mouth. He brought his hands up to her thighs and pushed them apart. He stuck his tongue into her pussy, delving into her wetness.
Zoë licked the underside of his penis, finally getting the last of it in her mouth. She felt the head going down her throat. Percy moaned into her. The vibrations made her yelp on his dick, almost making her choke.
She bobbed her head up and down, the sounds of slurping filling the air. Percy continued to eat out his wife, hitting every sweet spot she had. Every time, her cunt would spasm and get wetter.
Zoë felt her legs start to go numb as she felt her climax approaching. Her orgasm flooded his mouth. He withdrew his tongue. Zoë took her mouth off his dick. She turned around and straddled him.
She felt her slit along his dick. She moved up and down as she ran her juices along his shaft. Finally, she grasped it and held it as she slid it into her.
They both moaned as he enveloped her tight cunt. He leaned up to sweep her into a kiss as he started to thrust. He palmed her boobs as he slammed into her. His blood smeared on her right tit. The red contrasted with her copper skin.
He squeezed her nipples as he slid his rod in and out of her. She moaned into his mouth. Percy kept kissing her, bringing all of her attention on him.
She had often flown in Percy's arms, but he had never taken her as high as she felt now. Cloud 9 was nothing compared to the pure ecstasy that ran through each time he slammed into her.
She felt him pinch her nipples. She broke the kiss as she let out a moan. He found her neck and kissed that while she let out noises of pleasure.
She felt her heartbeat quicken, her pussy squeeze his dick, and knew that she was close to cumming again. Percy felt the pleasure taking its toll as well.
A few quick hard thrusts and he let loose his seed into her. She felt the warmth of his cum and felt herself orgasming once again.
They laid down together on the rock, neither removing themselves from each other. They laid in bliss for hours, neither ruining the moment of post sex clarity.
And when the morning came, Percy had to leave, for his quest was still going on. But he promised that they would be together soon.
Very soon.
A/N. I know what you're thinking, "Random, what just happened?" Well, I'll tell you. Percy essentially gave her his powers. This is something that happens in the comics, although Lucifer loses his powers because of it, but that's not happening here. So yeah, Zoë has Lightbringer powers now. Will this result in anything, probably not, since I just decided to add them the other day. Maybe I'll give them a plot reason, if I can figure out a way to work it into the already convoluted plot.
So... Another lemon. Yes, I wrote this one, though it was edited by Zaeng_. So thank you for that.
Anyways, thoughts?
