Percy watched as Hazel took Frank into her flashback. He idly wondered what it was that she was showing him. Maybe it was her death, or her judgment that led to her years in the Fields of Asphodel.
He looked up from the teenagers and focused on the horizon. The sun was setting. Another day until the would be invasion of Camp Jupiter. At least, until he annihilated the army. Though, maybe it was a mistake to leave Polybotes alive. If he could recover from licking his wounds and get a replacement army… Well, the results would not be in his favor.
Maybe it wouldn't hurt to get some insurance. He knew a place where he could get some backup, if he played his cards correctly. He turned the steering wheel a little bit, setting course for Seattle.
He took his hands off of the steering wheel and watched as his creation dipped below the horizon. The sky darkened and the stars twinkled in the black, like white paint on a black canvas.
Each white dot, no matter how small, was his creation. Each one forged in the palm of his hands, made from the Demiurge energy of his brother.
Percy opened his palm and stared at it. He felt the air around it and moved it into his palm. He closed his fist, tightening it. Light glowed from the cracks in between his palm and fingers, illuminating his hand.
He opened his hand and a miniature star floated a few centimeters off of his palm. The power of the sun, in the palm of his hand. Something even Doc Ock's machine couldn't do.
He extinguished the flame.
He was the second most powerful being in the universe, yet he didn't know what to do with his power. He got into the God business, creating a whole universe, yet it only filled him with joy for a short while. His family was the best part of the whole thing, so why live in isolation when they could just live here.
Maybe he could pull a page out of his own book and start another club. It had gone well enough last time. If Zoë and Aurora would go for it.
It wasn't long before his thoughts consumed him, and he found himself in the past, much like Hazel and Frank.
LINE BREAK
The joy Percy had felt when his dad shared the news at the vow renewal was unmatched. Their goal that they had been wanting for so long had been accomplished. They had a whole new universe to raise their child.
Right after the reception, and everyone had left, Percy and Zoë took to creating a nursery. They weren't going to raise their child like how they were raised. There will be no "You have a rock, sharpen it with another rock" type bullshit.
They painted the walls, pictures of angels flying and singing. There was Ophanim, flaming like the stars in the sky. And, just for shits and giggles, there was one rolling down a hill.
A crib sat next to a portrait of Raphael, with his peacock feathered wings spread out behind him. A mobile, with different demons sat above the crib.
As the couple looked at their hard work, they couldn't help but feel ready for their child.
LINE BREAK
Percy shook himself out of the past. He focused on the land in front of him. The yacht had entered a strait, and a city peeked up on the horizon. They were close to Seattle.
It was a couple of minutes later that Hazel and Frank awoke from the blackout.
"Welcome back to the land of the living." Percy said as he walked out onto the deck. He passed the demigods and placed his hands on the railing. He faced the upcoming city.
"Where are we?" Hazel asked.
"We're approaching Seattle."
"Why are we going to Seattle?" Frank asked.
"I am going to try to get some backup for Camp Jupiter."
"But why? You destroyed the army."
"But I left Polybotes alive. Which might prove to be a mistake. One only time would tell. I'd rather have some insurance in the event of the worst happening."
LINE BREAK
They walked through the streets of Seattle, the demigods following Percy as he looked for something. He led them through streets, turning every now and then. Finally, he stopped in front of a building.
The sign read "Amazon".
Percy entered the building, Frank and Hazel following him inside. The door led to a reception room, with a woman working at the front desk. She looked up at the newcomers and stood up. She grabbed a spear and pointed it at Percy's throat.
"What are you doing here?"
"I need to have a meeting with-" Percy started before being interrupted.
"I wasn't asking you, male. I was asking her." She said, motioning her head to Hazel.
Percy looked at her nametag. "Look, Kinzie, I don't have time for this. I need an audience with Queen Hylla."
Kinzie jabbed the spear into Percy's neck. She was shocked when there wasn't even a scratch where it should've drawn blood. "What are you, male?"
Percy rolled his eyes. "I'm not even male. And do you not see the wings?"
"You're very clearly a male."
"What if I was trans? Hm? What if I was genderfluid? You're judging by appearances here. Besides-" Percy pulled his pants down. There was nothing there. Completely smooth. "What if I was genderless, which I am."
Kinzie's mouth fell open. Percy pulled his pants up. "Now, if I can get an audience with Hylla, that would be fantastic." Percy leaned in close. "And it's best not to keep the Devil waiting."
Kinzie nodded shakily before leading them through a door in the side of the room.
"Percy, what was that?" Frank asked.
"I'm an angel. Angels are genderless. Therefore I am not a man, and now they can take me to their queen."
"But what about Zoë?"
"How do you know about Zoë?" Percy asked.
"Remember? In the senate, when Mars came in. He mentioned Zoë, and how she, uh, you know."
"Ah. Right, yeah. Okay, this is gonna be a long explanation. Basically, what you see me as is what I decide to look like. I can look however I want. I do have a true form, but pray you never see it, as it can make reality warp and change, and it would be dangerous to be around it. But, I can change my appearance, so I changed myself to not have any genitals. I can alter myself to have them again when I want."
"What?" Hazel asked. The poor girl looked confused.
"I can change my appearance. That's all you need to know." Percy said, taking pity on them.
The room they emerged into was huge. It was a warehouse, full of machines and items, zipping around, getting put into boxes. Giant crates littered the walls, organized by numbers written in big black letters.
Near the back of the warehouse sat a woman on a throne. She wore black leather everything, and a gold chain as a belt. She stood as she watched the newcomers enter her domain. Guards stood at the foot of the throne, wielding spears.
Percy stood a couple of feet away from the throne. He put his hands in the pockets of his suit jacket.
"Bow before our queen." One of the guards said.
Hazel and Frank instantly got onto their knees. Percy remained standing. "I don't bow." Percy said.
Another woman entered the area. Her eyes were as black as Hylla's leather clothes. Her hair was silver. Zoë would be jealous. She was in more of a traditional attire, showing her place as someone out of time. More women followed her. "Look at this. She's letting men in her presence. Is she really fit to be our queen?" She announced to her posse. They all yelled agreements.
"Otrera, can we not do this right now?" Hylla asked.
"Why? Are the men more important than the future queen?" Otrera mocked.
"Queen Hylla." Percy said, emphasizing 'queen'. "I am asking for support on the behalf of Camp Jupiter. They had an army coming to destroy them, courtesy of Gaia."
"Had?" Hylla questioned.
"Look, she lets the man speak! She lets the man speak ill of our mistress!"
"OTRERA! Leave us!" Hylla ordered.
Percy took a hand out of his pocket and held it up. "Now now. If the ex queen wants to view our plans to report to her mistress, let her. There's nothing she can do anyway."
"Male! Do you know who I am!?"
Percy took a step towards her. "You're Otrera. Founder of the Amazons, consort of Ares. You died eons ago, revived by Gaia because Death is chained in Alaska. You want the belt to support your mistress. You have followers that are questioning their loyalty. You haven't taken the throne yet, unlike what you promised them."
Otrera's mouth fell open.
"Close your mouth. You'll catch flies."
Otrera drew a sword. "Who are you?"
"I am Lucifer Morningstar. Former king of Hell, Slayer of Kronos and Michael Demiurgos. Consort of Mazikeen Morningstar. Forger of Stars."
"Lucifer." Hylla said.
Percy ignored her. "My patience wears thin with you. I have no qualms of killing you, but for the sake of your followers, don't push me."
"Oh, a big bad man is going to kill me. Whatever shall I do?" Otrera mocked. She steeled her face. "Are you looking for a fight?"
"I wouldn't be opposed to one." Percy said, stretching his back, flexing his wings as he did so.
"ENOUGH!" Hylla said.
"I'm sorry Queen Hylla, but I have a bitch to put down. Our conversation will have to wait until afterwards."
Percy unbuttoned his suit jacket. Otrera walked forward, sword glinting in her hand. It shone red in the light of the warehouse. The end was razor sharp. Percy recognized it. Another one of Rory's feathers.
Percy reached into his pocket and pulled out Riptide. He wished he hadn't given Amenadiel his necklace back. Without it he couldn't light Riptide on fire. But maybe it was best that he didn't have it. Didn't want to cut more holes in reality.
He uncapped Riptide, the sword springing to full length. He stood, ready for Otrera to make the first move.
And make the first move she did. She ran at him, bringing her sword down on Percy. He brought Riptide up to block before kicking Otrera in the stomach.
She stumbled back, sword falling to the ground. Percy advanced towards Otrera. She stumbled to her feet and ran to pick up her sword. Percy intercepted her, swiping a foot and making her fall on her back.
Percy capped Riptide and put it in his pocket. He didn't need it to finish what he she started. He approached his enemy and grabbed her by the neck.
He lifted her up by the neck with one hand. She tried to pry his hands away from her neck but he didn't let up. He started to squeeze. Otrera felt herself choking, lacking the air she needed to breathe. She grew frantic, trying to pry his hands from her neck but he wouldn't budge.
"It… doesn't… matter… if… I… die… Gaia… will… just… raise… me… again!" She choked out.
Percy smiled. "No she won't. You won't be coming back unless I will it. Enjoy Hell."
A crack resounded through the room and Otrera stopped struggling. Percy dropped Otrera and she fell to the floor, unmoving. Percy stared at the body before it burst into flames. The flames ravaged the body, cremating it.
Once the body was nothing but ash, the fire went away. Percy turned to Hylla again. "Where were we?" He asked.
"Um." She tried to get the words out but she couldn't stop looking at the pile of ash. "Um. There was an army… I think."
"Right. Yes. I destroyed it, but I left the giant alive. Polybotes. It's possible he could get another army and continue to Camp Jupiter, so to cover my bets, I would like you to lead the Amazons there."
"You want me… to take my army… to deal with something that might not happen?"
"Yes. You don't look at an oncoming asteroid and stare at it. You figure out if it's gonna hit. So, I would like you to go down there. If not for me, then for Reyna. I'm sure your sister will appreciate it."
"Reyna…"
"When was the last time you saw your sister? Did you know that she's a praetor now? Do you know anything about her anymore?"
Tears started to poke out of Hylla's eyes.
"Not since Circe's, huh? Does she even know you're still alive?" Percy stared at Hylla. "You should go. Even if just to catch up."
"Even if I want to, half of the Amazons defected to Otrera's rulership. They don't follow me anymore."
"They only follow her?"
Hylla nodded, trying to regain her composure. Percy nodded before snapping his fingers. Otrera was in the room, alive as ever. "You. You obey her now." Percy said to her. Otrera nodded.
Percy turned to Hylla. "Problem solved. Now, I'm sure you could make it if you leave soon. Also, tell her I said hi."
Percy turned around. "Come on guys. We have a lot of ground to cover to Alaska."
A/N. Yeah, so, I just cut out what was giving me writers block. Besides, we already know what happens in that flashback. Instead, I gave y'all a little bit of what is going to culminate into Rory's childhood.
We saw Percy kill Otrera. Yes, I took inspiration from that scene in Season 1. The Father Frank episode.
If you're wondering what the fuck that shit in the middle was, where Percy has no dick, I'll explain. He is genderless. But he can change his appearance. So, sometimes, he gives himself a dick. Usually whenever he has sex with Zoë. So yeah.
Thoughts?
