"Can Zoë change her appearance too? Futa confirmed?" -Guest
Well, Guest, as of the chapter where Percy did that blood ritual, yes, yes she can. Since she has the Morningstar power now. So yes, they can hypothetically do that if they want to.
I like how everyone's response was, Percy and Zoë can get freaky. Which they can, and they probably have and will. Anyways, onto the chapter.
Hazel was almost glad when they were attacked. They had been on the yacht, traveling towards Alaska. That was fine, but the water had been really choppy, and her seasickness was killing her. She had already spent an hour throwing up.
But when her savior came in the form of a squid, she was more hesitant to be glad. It's tentacles wrapped around the yacht, plucking it out of the ocean the same way a child would lift a rubber ducky out of the bath. Cracks appeared throughout the boat, straining under the pressure of the tentacles.
Percy burst out onto the deck, keeping his balance better than both Hazel and Frank. His eyes were glowing red as he walked towards the bow of the ship. He was thrown off his feet as the boat lurched to the right, the boat turning on its side.
Percy fell into the ocean, disappearing below the violent waves the monster was making. Hazel fell as well, just barely grabbing onto the railing. She held on tight, her strength being the only thing keeping her from a watery grave. Frank did the same, a few feet away from her.
As the boat turned even more, turning upside down, Hazel got a good view of the monster. It resembled a giant squid, with spikes coming out of each sucker on its tentacles. It differed from a squid, with its face coming out of a bulging mass. It's mouth was large enough to bite the yacht in half, with large teeth, sharp as a knife. Eyes sat just it's mouth. They were black, small, and beady.
Another tentacle wrapped around the boat, squeezing it even more. The boat was close to snapping in half, like a recreation of the Titanic. Hazel hoped that if it came to that, she would find a piece of debris to float on, provided the monster didn't eat her first.
The boat started to lower into the things mouth, bow first. Its teeth barely missed Hazel's leg as it chopped through metal and wood like it was butter. Its eyes stared at Hazel with an unimaginable hate.
The monster finished the piece of boat it had already eaten and was preparing to take another bite. Water exploded underneath them. Hazel assumed it was another tentacle coming to help crush the boat. But when she didn't see another tentacle wrap itself around the yacht, she grew curious.
She looked around, only to see Percy flying through the air. He had a sword in his hand as he fought off other tentacles the monster had. He would slash at one, fly underneath another, and rip a spike out of one of its tentacles.
Percy watched as the tentacles followed his every move. He flew over to the two tentacles holding the ship and slashed at them. The creature yelled something garbled, but very clearly a sound of pain. He put his sword away as an idea came to him.
The tentacles dropped the boat, which fell into the ocean. Hazel and Frank held their breath as they met the water. They slammed into the ocean, feeling like they crashed into concrete. They were dazed, but managed to swim to the surface.
They climbed onto the boat, which had landed upside down. They rested on the underside of the yacht, staring up into the sky.
Percy continued to fight the sea monster, dodging and weaving through its tentacles. Multiple tentacles followed Percy, but he was quicker than them. Each time the monster tried to stop him, he easily flew under or over it. Tentacles started to come at him from all directions, so he flew up. He heard a screech of pain come from the monster and looked down at it.
The tentacles of the monster were tied up in a knot. Percy drew his sword and flew down into the creature's mouth. The creature closed its mouth behind him, trapping Percy inside. That didn't bother him though.
Frank and Hazel on the other hand, were very bothered. The ship was slowly starting to sink. They stood up shakily, as the ship was uneven. Water started to flood the bottom of the ship, slowly approaching the demigods.
Back in the belly of the beast, Percy entered the stomach. Below him the creature's stomach acid boiled. Percy avoided it and went to one of the walls of the stomach. He took the sword and stabbed it through the creature. He flew up, bringing the sword with him, cutting the creature in half. Percy approached the still closed mouth of the creature and prepared himself.
He held out his fist that wasn't wielding a sword and embraced himself. His punch created a hole in the teeth of the monster. He flew through the hole, though he had to collapse his wings slightly to fit.
The creature slowly started to turn to dust, having been effectively sliced in half.
Back on the sinking yacht, Frank and Hazel had run out of room on the boat. They were up to their ankles in the water, with no sign of stopping.
Percy landed next to them. He grabbed them both. "You might want to hang on tightly." He said as they gripped his wrists. He took off, his wings beating. He flew through the air, towards the mainland.
He dropped them off somewhere random. Hazel didn't know where they were, and Percy only answered "Vancouver." when she asked. Frank however, knew exactly where they were. He used to explore this park as a child. His grandmother's house was nearby.
"I know where we can go from here." He told them.
LINE BREAK
Frank almost walked into the ogre's camp. Luckily Percy grabbed him by the back of the shirt. They all hid behind a fallen tree. Percy peeked up above and cursed.
Surrounding multiple fires, which were surrounding the house, where groups of giant humanoids. They were buff, hairy, and smelled like shit. Like literal horse feces. They stood at about eight feet tall.
"What is it?" Hazel whispered to Percy as he came back down.
"Laistrygonians. Nasty guys. Need to shave and take a bath. I played a game of dodgeball once. Massive cheaters. Tried to blow me up. Was kind of funny. Anyways, I can take them, you guys, maybe. I'm not sure."
Frank stared at Percy. "Thanks man, thanks for that." He said sarcastically.
"You're welcome." Percy paused. "Let me take another look."
Percy stood up and peeked over the tree. The giants were still there, not like they would've moved. They didn't have luck like that. But this time Percy noticed something else. Each giant had a massive stack of cannonballs made of celestial bronze.
Percy sat back down. "Yeah, no. You two are fucked. They have explosive cannonballs. Last time I killed them with celestial bronze, but with Death kidnapped, I have no guarantee."
"But what about that army you killed earlier? Or Phineas?" Hazel asked.
"I don't know about that army for sure. That's why I got the Amazons involved. As for Phineas, he's human. He can still come back, but it'll be harder for him to. Look, those were flukes, and I'm not willing to risk it unless it's a last resort."
"So what do we do?" Frank asked.
"Give me your spear." Percy said, hand out.
Frank gave him the spear. Percy grabbed some grass and fashioned it into a strap so he could put the spear on his back. He took out the blade made from his daughter's feather, because he still had that, and cut some skin off of his forearm. "They love meat, human and otherwise. They won't be able to resist archangel flesh." He explained when he felt their questioning gazes in him. "Wish me luck."
Percy stood up and hopped over the tree. He threw the flesh at a giant, landing in front of it. It picked it up and sniffed it. Instantly, it began to drool. It instantly shoved it into its mouth. It tasted divine, the best thing it had ever eaten. It needed more. It looked around to see a winged man with a spear strapped to his back. But the best part was that he smelled like the flesh it had just eaten. Other giants began to smell the sweet smell of archangel flesh.
They turned to Percy, who stared them down, red blade in his hand. "Heya boys. You hungry?"
The giants grabbed their cannonballs and aimed them at him.
Percy smiled cruelly. "Those won't hurt me. If you want this meat, you have to cut it yourself." He threw the blade into the grass in front of him. "Come and cut it."
Percy ran into the forest that surrounded the house and disappeared.
The giants, overcome with indescribable hunger, ran to grab the blade. The first one got it and ran into the forest as well. They avoided trees as they hunted for the archangel. They knew he was near, they smelled him.
Above them, Percy watched as they ran around aimlessly. He jumped to another tree branch, silent as one of Artemis' huntresses. He hopped from treetop to treetop, leaving his scent everywhere.
The cannibals ran around the forest, the smell of the most delicious food everywhere. Percy dropped from a tree branch. He landed on the ground with a thud, alerting the giants. Percy took the spear off of his back and stabbed the tip into the ground. He pulled it out, snapping the dragon's tooth off. He put the spear back on his back as he watched the skeleton crawl out of the ground.
"Oh, it's you. How was Mars able to connect you to the spear?"
The skeleton said nothing.
"Well, Cain, go kill those laistrygonians. You should be able to do it, after all, killing is your thing."
The skeleton was not amused.
"You killed your brother, man, not me. Now go, get to work." Percy made a shooing motion with his hand.
The first cannibal giant didn't even see Cain coming. It was stabbed from behind with a rib. It turned to dust. Cain kicked the dust around, making sure it would be a while before it reformed.
Percy snuck back behind the fallen tree. He dusted off his suit as sat down. "Give Cain a few minutes to deal with them. Then we'll head inside."
"Cain?" Hazel asked.
"Frank's Spartus pet thing."
"What?"
"You know, the skeleton warrior that comes from the ground whenever he uses the spear?"
"What?"
"You don't know about that? Wow. Yeah, Frank has a personal Spartus. He also happens to be the world's first murderer, known for killing his brother."
Hazel was silent.
Frank looked at Percy, pissed off.
Cain came back, before saluting and crumbling into dust.
"Well, let's go. We have a house to spend the night in."
A/N. Alright, another chapter done. A little shorter, but eh, I have to get one out soon. Little over 1,800 words, so it's not too bad. More than what you guys got back in PtDA on average.
Hope y'all enjoyed it. It was kind of just a filler chapter, so sorry.
Thoughts?
