Olivia's POV
As I step off the plane, I feel a slight warm breeze brush across my face blowing my hair with it. I'm so happy to be home; back in D.C, It's finally summer. the best decision I made was deciding to spend my summer in D.C; That way I could see my father and have some fun before school started in the fall. The airport is crowded. People are bumping into me; I almost forgot how rude people are in the states. England is less hectic and people have manners. I sighed shaking my head, my father was supposed to send for me but I'm just standing in a crowded airport with pushy people and I'm annoyed. Until I hear my father's voice, at first I'm a little surprised because my father rarely meets me here I guess he really missed me.
"Hello, Olivia" my father's voices sound again
"Dad, I thought Jason was picking me up?"
"I gave him the day off, we haven't seen each other since your graduation. I thought we could have lunch and spend time together."
"Of course. Dad, how are you?" I asked, hugging him, I didn't see much of my father except for holidays and award ceremonies. That's the point of sending me away to boarding school...right?
"I'm well, Let's go I've got a car waiting. Do you want me to carry that?" He asked pointing to my luggage.
"Oh, uh yea thanks, dad." that was nice of him to offer, he really is trying and I do miss him a lot; so I won't give him a hard time.
"So, how's England?" he asks, I always give the same answer: wet and cold but it's my second home. Sometimes I resent him for sending me there, it was cruel but he doesn't see it that way. I can't complain though. I have friends and a boyfriend, well technically not anymore but I used to...he was an asshole I'm not sweating it too much. But my father makes sure I have everything I need...he always has.
"It's good I'm glad to be home." surprisingly I hadn't picked up an accent after spending years in England for school. "Dad, I wanted to talk to you about college!" I confess nervously. After graduation I told my father I would be staying in England for college, he's wanted me to be a lawyer for as long as I could remember. And now I see the appeal...the only problem is- I don't want to go to the schools he originally picked out for me.
"Are you having second thoughts about where you wanna go?" He asked.
"No actually I uh...I wanna go to Harvard." I confessed with a smile, trying to lessen the blow.
"Olivia, I thought we talked about Georgetown or Howard."
"I still wanna be a lawyer I just don't wanna go to Georgetown or Howard" I clarified.
"I knew I shouldn't have sent you away." he shook his head. "You know Howard was my comfort school, best years of my life." he tried to sell me time after time. I wanna have the best years of my life at the school I choose.
"How do you know Harvard won't be my comfort school? I just wanna do my own thing...my own way" I countered, one thing about my father he was stubborn and liked everything to go his way especially if his money was paying for it. I rolled my eyes before he looked back at me
"You were always an indecisive child. Olivia, you're 18yrs old, but I understand. So I'll make you a deal; let's see how you feel after these 3 months okay."
"Okay" whew, thank goodness, my heart was beating so fast and now I can relax. He can never make things easier.
"We'll go visit the campus and see how you like it and if it's a good fit, I'll pay for your housing. On or off-campus"
"Deal! Thanks, dad." I smiled ear to ear, summer was definitely looking a lot better than I expected.
The rest of the ride was silent. I checked my messages to see if Edison was brave enough to try and text me after that bullshit he pulled in England. I shouldn't be expecting him apologizes let alone wanting him to. it's whatever though because he was trash just like his father and the rest of that no good family of his. I laid my head against the window, the houses all looked the same, why am I acting like I was off fighting wars? of course, my neighborhood is the same.
"We're here, Sir"
"Thank you, Daniel!"
"I thought we were going to lunch?" I was baffled as to why we were at the house. Leave it to my father to cancel the plans that we made five minutes ago.
"We are. I just figured you had a long flight and wanted to get settled in. And I need to be here to sign for the bones that will be featured in a new exhibit." Those damn bones. Ever since he took on a new role at the Smithsonian as head of the department that's all he does...maybe he needs a girlfriend. Before this he was the CIA director, only stepping down after my mom passed away leaving him a single father, and that's how I ended up in boarding school.
"I won't be long," Olivia said grabbing her bags
Instead of being mad about something he always does I went to call Abby to see if she's in D.C yet. Abby and I met in boarding school when we were 14. We became really close bonding over the fact our parents chose their jobs over us, so every year during summer we meet up and spend a month together. It's the only time Abby and I are together since Abby's parents moved her schools. Her mother is a drunk housewife and her father is the assistant director at the FBI.
"Liv, are you here yet?" Abby inquired. She must have gotten here early because she's already rushing me.
"Yea, I'm at my dad's house" I belly flop on the bed, dad was right: I did have a long flight and I am tired.
"Are you ready for this summer Liv? We're gonna have so much fun." Abby promised
"Yea but I wanna do something else, I need to see a beach asap!"
"Oh my god Liv, my parents have a jet...we can go to California if your dad will let you?" Abby suggested.
"Abby my dad has had a jet for years and he's never let us use it..but I don't think he'll notice if I'm gone...he's got new some bones coming." Getting up to search for something to wear.
"Well get your ass over here," Abby, yelled through the phone.
"I'll see you later, I promised him We would have lunch. But don't leave without me."
Abby sighed. "fine I'll wait. Hey, do you know when Quinn is getting here?" Abby asked
"Yea she's gonna be here in a couple of weeks" was my response "I'll talk to you later, Bye"
"Bye"
/
"Dad" I called out running down the stairs to meet my father "I'm ready"
"Oh uh, sweetheart I just need an hour," he said without looking at me. And I knew then we weren't going. "I've got new bones that need my attention"
"Okay, that's fine. But since you're busy can, I go see Abby?" I wish I could've even pretended to be surprised, even when I was younger Eli chose his work over me and my mother- it just got worse after she died.
"Abby" dad raised his eyebrow trying to put a face with the name. "Oh...uh yeah, Abigail how is she?" dad asked, not bothering to look up once from the bones he was inspecting.
"She's visiting her family. I wanted to go and have dinner with them, and maybe spend the night." leaning forward in anticipation of his answer.
"That's fine. And we'll have lunch I promise sweetheart...tomorrow." Eli gave me a fatherly kiss on the cheek and continued working on his bones. I shook my head running back upstairs, I wonder does he even care. I called Abby so she would come to get me and I packed a bag because I knew we would be gone a couple of days. 30 minutes later Abby pulled up.
"Get in" Abby was thrilled
"Who's flying the jet?" I asked as I got into the car
"Come on before your dad realizes you're gone." Abby hurried,
"He knows we're together." throwing my bag in the backseat I told her.
"He knows about California?"
"No, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him. let's go." we laughed, as Abby pulled off.
A few hours later we boarded the jet and left for Santa Barbra. Abby has a rich aunt who lives there and she offered to let us stay for the week.
"Champagne ladies?"
"Yes please," Abby said as she held up her glass.
"Thank you- Abby does your dad know we have his jet and the butler?"
"Yes and no" Abby smirked, sipping her chilled champagne
"Abby" I playfully smacked her arm. She was one of my wildest friends and her dad gave her almost everything she asked for when it didn't inconvenience him.
"What? We need jimmy. And we also need to meet guys." Abby twirled her hair, batting her eyes.
"Abby, I just broke up with Edison," I countered, fiddling with the bracelet he had given me
Abby noticing that I still hadn't taken off the bracelet "and that's why you need a rebound." Abby insisted "why are you still wearing that?" she frowned, lifting my wrist dangling the jewels.
Pulling my arm back "It means something" I stuttered, Embarrassed that I let her see that I was stupid enough to wear something that asshole gave me.
"It means you still wanna be with him, why did you break up with him?" asking if it wasn't obvious, but she had a point.
"I don't know, he doesn't know me and he doesn't care to even learn about me" shrugging, "I'm gonna sleep for a little bit," I yawned reaching for a blanket.
Edison was just like his father, I'll buy you diamonds and pearls and pretend to listen to your stories and long days at work...well technically school. His father had been divorced too many times to count. And as hard as he tried...Edison always bought his way back into my heart. I only broke up with him because cheated on me with Angela, the school slut. Abby was right...I shouldn't be thinking about him- when I know he isn't thinking about me.
I ended up sleeping the entire flight. I'm glad because I didn't exactly want to spend the flight watching Abby get champagne drunk. When the plane landed. we settled in at Abby's aunt Vivian's house. She wasn't home yet but Abby has a spare key for times like this. "You Can sleep in Derek's old room," Abby told me. Derek was Abby's cousin but he just recently moved out of his mother's house. Derek was throwing a party later that evening. Abby insisted on going to the party.
"This is the perfect way to meet guys, Liv" she giggled,
"Okay let's do this" I agreed although I'm not ready to meet new guys I also know, Abby wasn't gonna take no for an answer.
/
Abby and I went to get dressed...and headed to the party. Wearing a black mini skirt and a tube top. Abby wore a t-shirt dress. It was loud when we arrived. I could barely hear anything Abby was saying. That's when we spotted Derek. Derek was Abby's Older cousin, we met last year during Thanksgiving. He's a huge flirt I'm basically part of the family and Derek hit on me every chance he got that night.
"livvie, what are you doing here? Abby said you were in town I never thought you'd be at my party. I am happy though." He said leaning in for a hug "You look better than I remember" he flirted unabashedly.
I hate when he calls me "Livvie" and he only does because he's a flirtatious jerk...like I said we're like family- he just hasn't got the memo.
"Oh stop, I've been good, What's up with you?" being polite I asked about him, I already know what he's been up to Abby filled me in on the way.
"Same oh, I just bought this house. So you know I had to break it in. Hey, are you still dating that eddy guy?"
"She's like our cousin pervert" Abby interjected, laughing.
"I'm just asking how my friend is doing," Derek said playfully pushing Abby
"I'm gonna go mingle" she strutted in the direction of some boys, typical Abby.
"Anyways, back to you" Derek smiled
"We broke up actually and his name is Edison" I admitted, shouting over the music.
"Sorry to hear that, but um will you dance with me?" Derek extended his hand
I chuckled, this was just like Derek "No funny business?" I smiled taking his hand, dancing with Derek is better than any of the creeps here.
Derek threw his hands up to surrender. "No funny business" He agreed.
We danced together not in a sexual way but in a friend's way. And ended up catching up longer than we had expected to. That was until I saw Abby running upstairs, concerned about her I excused myself from Derek and followed Her. I knew all that champagne was a bad idea. But telling Abby not to drink is like taking away her platinum card it's a no-no.
"Abby" I knocked, calling through the bathroom door. "Are you okay?"
"Liv, come in...I'm fine I just got sick" Abby turned on the water and splashed her face.
"You wanna go home?" I suggested while pulling her hair back into a ponytail.
"Uh yea" Abby and I made our way down the stairs
Abby is the most dramatic person I've met, she gasped...making me think something was wrong with her and she once again is telling me about some hot guy she met in the crowd.
"I met the hottest guy I can't believe I almost forgot him," said Abby as we left the house
"Well, what's his name?"
"I don't know but we danced and he's freaking hot. Older" Abby smirked, adding in.
"Well, what do you know?" I was curious, leave it to Abby to be sick and still worrying about guys. I chuckled.
"He's tall and he's famous"
"Like movie star famous?"
"No, he's like politically famous"
"Okay so definitely older" I scrunched my nose because why are old politicians at college student parties.
"Yup" she squealed, laughing at my expression.
"We should go to the beach tomorrow if your feeling better" I prompted, We sat on the stairs waiting for the driver.
/
Being the responsible daughter I am called my dad so he wouldn't worry, and I got his voicemail which meant he probably didn't even realize it was a new day. Without the thought of getting caught by my father, Abby and I can finally say goodbye to our woolens and hello to swimsuits and shorts! It was hot and crowded just like every beach in California during the summer.
Spreading sunscreen on her arms and legs, Abby asked "Should I invite Derek?" I shot that idea down with a quickness, Derek is okay to talk to and all but he's still a flirtatious bastard.
"No...he'll be flirting with me the whole time"
"That's gross because your basically family, You came to thanksgiving"
"That's what I said, I guess I'm just special," I joked.
Abby and I were laughing and talking until she abruptly got up and wanted to get drinks, I didn't mind it was close to 100 degrees and I needed something cool to drink and as long as she was going instead of me I was fine with it. Knowing Abby, she probably saw some guy.
"Can you bring me coconut water"? I requested putting on my sunglasses and laid back, waiting for Abby to return.
"Yes sure,"
Fitz POV
There's that girl from last night, I watch her walk up to the cabana. She was wild last night I probably should have gotten her name last night...but it was loud and crowded. It doesn't matter that much; she isn't who caught my eye last night...her friend is. I can tell she's trying to get my attention; no one has to lean that far across the counter for a straw. What are the chances that she's with her friend from last night- I see two drinks.
"Hey, you" I took a huge leap and sat down next to her, Now it is a little dog-ish to use her to get to her friend, chances...you gotta take chances- hyping myself up a bit.
"For a second I thought you didn't remember me" she tittered, oh no she's coquetting, I cautioned, don't say anything that could sound like your flirting with her.
"I didn't catch your name last night," I have manners so I extended my hand to her.
"Abby, I'm Abby, and you?" she asked, holding my hand a little longer than I liked.
"Fitz grant." flashing a faint smile, I hope she doesn't- whatever too late now. "Last night you didn't recognize me huh?"
It was a natural response. My father was the governor of California, most people had the same reaction.
"I didn't...but I was also pretty wasted," Abby admitted, she looks a little embarrassed.
"here are your drinks" the server handed her.
"If you want we can hang out, I'm here with my friend Olivia," Abby said picking their drinks up
Olivia, that's a beautiful name...one mystery solved. "Sure" I had my fingers crossed, hoping the friend was the same girl from last night.
Abby and I made our way over to Olivia. The sun bounced off her luscious brown skin. I couldn't help but stare, that went for every other man at the beach though. Getting closer I had to admit I was a little nervous. Someone as beautiful as Olivia. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a boyfriend running around here somewhere; for my sake, I prayed that she didn't.
"What took you so long," Olivia asked without looking at her friend. I could tell she came from money and that she wasn't from around here.
"Remember the guy from last night. Liv?" Abby squealed,
"No name?...yeah" she didn't bother looking up at her, I could already tell that she was unbothered and just enjoying her time at the beach.
"Liv...his name is Fitzgerald grant"
"Abby that's gross he's like 50 yrs old" her face scrunched. She's so beautiful.
"uh...nope that's my dad, I'm 20" I chuckled making my presence known, standing directly over her, I gave a boyish grin.
She bounced up, snatching her glasses off. "oh the son," cutting her eyes at the blushing redhead. "I'm sorry I didn't mean..your da-" she faltered, Abby could have warned her. I'm just glad we're talking.
"No it's fine he is old" I laughed, taking off my sunglasses. A bright smile crept across my face looking at the brown skin beauty below me.
It was cute how she reacted it made me squeal inside. "So what brings you, beautiful ladies, here?" I ask, mostly to Olivia.
Abby chimed in before Olivia could answer. "It's our summer vacation"
"What school do you go to?" not to be too forward I sat down on Olivia's towel. Kinda snuggling up to her.
"Who just plops down on strangers beach towel they barely know?" she mumbled while scooting over putting some space between us. "Royal Alexander " She affirmed contemptuously.
"England?" she definitely comes from money, she's humble unlike the other girls flashing their family money.
Olivia's POV
"Where's your accent?" He frowned, with the cutest lost expression.
"I'm from Washington" I shot back, He was kinda rude. Arent the hot ones always rude in someway
"How long are you here for?" Nosy he is very nosy, it's refreshing...kind of. I smile to myself and of course, he caught it.
"Until my dad realizes I took his jet" Abby laughed mischievously
I almost forgot Abby was here for a second, he keeps staring into my eyes. Just like he can't look away neither can I
"We should hang out or something," Fitz hinted, smirking. His eyes never leaving me for more than a second. He's checking me out.
"We should" Abby interjected.
"We should?" I asked incredulously.
"Yes Liv, we should" Giving Fitz a self-conscious smirk.
"What do you have in mind?" Abby asked
"12:30 pm tomorrow Tangerine falls. Wear something comfortable." Fitz added.
/
I didn't want to give it much thought, because Edison was still in the back of my head...plus Abby wanted Fitz. I did appreciate his boldness I think that he likes me but I don't want to feed into it. Abby seemed to really like him.
"Hey are you read- Abby are you wearing?" Stopping in my tracks I couldn't even finish my sentence- why was Abby standing in front of me dressed like she about to walk the carpet at the 2013 MTV music awards? This is why we're friends if Abby didn't have me she would be stuck in the early 2000s fashion era and that was not it. Expensive diamond earrings and Gucci sneakers. I couldn't help myself and I laughed in her face.
"Is it too much?" Abby huffed.
I nodded looking at this atrocity in front of me "For a hike?... uh yea. Abby, it's casual" I tittered.
"Yea Liv I know but he's like political royalty"
"And so you dressed like the queen of England." I had to save her from herself I went to Abby's closet and pulled out a light blue sports bra and some shorts. "Here wear this. And I'll be downstairs"
Finally, Abby came downstairs looking like she was ready for a hike. "let's go"
Arriving at the trail, Abby and I saw two guys laughing and chatting as our car pulled up. One was Fitz and the other one was almost as cute but not quite and he was shorter.
Abby smiled at him briefly and said hello, trying to sound as sweet as possible. I told her to tone it down a little before she scared him off.
"Hey, Abby. Hi, Liv" there was that smile was again, his eyes were stunning, I could tell he was already full of himself so I'll keep that compliment to myself.
"Hey" dryly, I waved not trying to give him too much attention.
"...this is my buddy, Jake. Jake, Abby and this is Olivia." He introduced us, a smile lingering on his face when he said my name. I hoped Abby didn't notice that
"Nice to meet y'all" Jake had a sweet southern accent to go with his charm.
I didn't pay much attention though. However, it was a breath of fresh air, that I wouldn't be third-wheeling.
"Pleasure, So are we gonna hike or what?" jake voiced.
I'm excited; I don't get to hike much in England. My father and I used to when I was younger and we always had fun.
"Yes, but with a twist". He grasped his hands rubbing them together "Have you hiked this trail before?" Fitz asked me and Abby
"Yeah uh...like a year ago with my dad," I replied.
"Good how about you two" Fitz inquires.
Jake raised his hand and Abby shook her head "no". Which didn't surprise me Abby was kinda lazy and only loved to party.
"Okay perfect because neither have I," I think he's lying...I won't call him out though, "Okay so it'll be Liv and I...can I call you Liv?" Fitz Smirked
"You already did" I breathed, shaking my head at how he was openly flirting with me.
"Against Abby and Jake we're gonna have a friendly competition. Let's see who can get to the waterfalls the fastest." Fitz challenged.
"I'll go with Jake" I went and stood next to Jake while Abby went and stood next to Fitz.
Fitz walked over pulling me over to him by my waist, I felt a chill run up my spine and goosebumps on my arms when Fitz had his hands around my waist- it was only for a split second. Still, I found myself beaming at the contact.
"Well that wouldn't be a fair advantage, you guys have been on the trail- So like I said Abby and Jake-Liv you're with me"
"We can use the map" Abby blurted, she was trying hard, I knew he wasn't gonna let up and I didn't want him to.
"That would take the fun out of it now wouldn't it" Fitz smirked, fully aware of what he was doing. "Ok whoever gets there last, has to buy dinner at the restaurant of the winners choice"
"Deal," Jake said confidently. "And we're off"
Each team went in separate directions with the intent to win. Abby was not thrilled, it almost had felt like he brought Jake to keep Her busy. Meanwhile, Fitz and I were enjoying the walk. Stopping to take some pictures, Fitz photobombed each one. I rolled my eyes taking more pictures, still smiling. His childish behavior makes me laugh. As a good friend, I'm trying to be strong because my best-friend likes him, but he is charming. His personality is intoxicating and his looks are alluring.
"It's nice up here" I pointed out, trying to make small talk.
"It is" Fitz was speaking as if he had never been there before. "So what's your story?" Fitz asked walking slightly ahead of me
"You didn't check me out before coming to the wilderness with a stranger?" Chuckling at the thought of me being some psychopath.
"Well I don't know your last name and Olivia from Washington but goes to school In England doesn't give me much" Fitz chided. He had a smart mouth.
"I mean there isn't much. I lived in D.C until I was twelve, but after my mom died my dad sent me to boarding school and I've been there ever since. And the name is Olivia Pope."
"How did your um..what happened to your mom-?" He hesitated.
So I tell him my sad story of how I lost my mom when I 12- to cancer. I can tell he's uncomfortable...maybe he also lost someone. But he doesn't interrupt me he just listens- better than Edison ever did Fitz actually looks like he wants to know. I oddly feel safe with this man, I just met yesterday. His presence is so reassuring I feel like we could talk on and on about anything.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked" Fitz stopped, he gave me pat on the back, I think he would have hugged me but it probably would've been weird if he did.
"No it's fine, it was a long time ago. How about you? You're the governor's son" We resumed walking. I could tell we were pretty close to the top.
"Yea not all that fun. my mom died when I was six, also cancer and boarding schools. so I understand not talking about our parents"
"Two peas in a pod" I snickered, snapping pictures of him by this big Boulder.
"Two peas in a pod" Fitz repeated, mocking me. "how are old you?"
"I just turned 18,"
"so you're graduating soon huh?" Fitz asked Curiously
"Two months ago actually" rubbing my eye I clarified
Fitz POV
"College?" I was curious as to where I might find her after the summer.
"Yeah, Harvard if my father caves. I want to be a lawyer. What about you? are you gonna follow in your fathers' steps?" She leaned against a tree. The wind slightly blowing her hair, It's all curly, flowing down her neck sitting on her shoulders.
"He wants me to, all I wanna do is teach"
"Then be a teacher" shrugging, as if it was the easiest thing to say no to my father. I'm glad her father isn't someone who's pushing his dreams onto her.
"Trust me if it were that easy I would, what do you like to do?" I sat on a tree stump. The way the sun shone through the trees making her the center of my attention. I wanted to be fully attentive.
"I swim. Believe it or not" she's blushing, Olivia pope has a crush on me.
"why wouldn't I believe it," I ask, genuinely confused.
"you know the stereotype" there goes that eye roll again, her smile is the best thing I've seen all day and I still can't get enough of it.
I really am an uncultured white guy, I can't figure what she's talking about. I chortle, easing the awkwardness.
"Don't worry...Stupid cousins" Liv chuckled saying to herself. "My cousins told me that most black people don't like pools or know how to swim"
I shouldn't have but I burst into laughter. She is so innocent all I could do was laugh, Olivia laughed with me. Good, I didn't offend.
"you've got some mean cousins, but that was good I like that" continuing the hike, we laughed and traded stories.
Olivia's POV
Realizing he hadn't asked...even once where we are. "You've been here before huh?" I stated matter-of-factly.
"First time, honest" Fitz threw his hands up.
I knew he was lying and I know why. I decided to have some fun of my own So I started walking in the wrong direction persisting I was going the right way since I've been here before.
"come on, I know a short cut"
"uh, Liv your uh... you're going the wrong way"
"relax I've been here before I where I'm going". I proclaimed smiling mischievously
"Liv they're gonna beat us come on Liv." Fitz stammered "Ok...okay I've been here before-" a guilty Fitz smirked. "You caught me" he waved his arms around dramatically.
"Ha, I knew it" pointing my finger in his face, giggling when he grabbed me spinning us around.
"You were gonna make us lose- just so you can say your right," he said raising his eyebrow. Still holding onto me. I didn't want him to let go...like ever.
"I'm always right" I declared
"I see that" Fitz smiled. And just like that, I was falling for this boy in the woods after one hike.
Meanwhile Abby and Jake weren't having a good time Abby was bummed about Fitz taking Liv. She ignored Jake during the entire hike. Unsurprisingly Liv and Fitz were the first to make it to the waterfalls.
"we're here" Fitz spread his arms out, smiling like a fool.
"I'm guessing this is where you take all the girls?" Liv asked taking a drink of water
"I don't date much, my dad says I need to look good to the media" That's who big Jerry is, everyone had to look good because it was his reputation on the line. If only he cared about his son as much as he cared about his already tarnished image. Fitz couldn't even count on two hands; how many times his father was caught with sex workers.
"I'm guessing he doesn't like your choice in women?"
"Something like that, are you seeing anyone?" Fitz was messing around with fallen branches, sneaking looks at Olivia, it was hard to look away from her.
"We broke up before I came here" She knew sooner or later he would ask, and she couldn't wait to tell him.
"Look at us both single" Fitz smirked, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Yea" Liv smiled "do you think Abby and Jake are lost?"
"Those two probably found an empty cave-" Just as Fitz said that he could hear them arguing. "There they are" he announced pointing in their direction
"Thank god liv. Where have you been?" Abby b-lined to Olivia.
"Abby we've been here waiting for you"
"Dude, Abby is crazy she yelled at me the entire time" Jake complained.
"To be honest I figured as much but liv is sweet and humble." Fitz trotted over to Olivia and Abby "Liv, so uh where do you wanna eat?"
"It's uh, it's up to you what's good around here?"
"Okay let's hike down and I'll think of something"
Jake and Abby were annoyed because it had become apparent that their only purpose was to occupy each other so Olivia and Fitz could go on a date. Jake wouldn't have minded if Abby at least tried to be nice. But Abby was mad about the trade-off, she thought Fitz liked her but he obviously wanted Olivia.
"Ugh" Abby signed at them two, Jake didn't mind, it was still a great hike. As they got closer to the entrance of the trail the two were laughing about the "Swimming thing" and other things the pair learned about each other while on the trail.
"What's so funny" Abby cringed
"Does she know?" Fitz asked liv with a bright smile trying to hold in his laughter.
"Know what?... tell me" she commanded
"You know I swim" she answered matter-of-factly.
"Yea I know the stereotype...You're my best friend after all." Abby was slightly annoyed.
"Well that's our ride," Olivia said pointing to the black sedan.
Fitz pulled a pen from the cup holder in his car And proceeded to write his number on Olivia's palm.
"when your ready, call me and I'll pick you guys up"
"Formal or should I break out my flip flops" Olivia giggled.
"The flip flops" Fitz joked as he got in the car. "let's say...an hour"
Olivia looked at her watch and confirmed. Getting in the car as Fitz and Jake pulled off. Abby was smiling at Olivia in a way that she couldn't even deny what was going on.
"Liv, I said to meet a guy...not steal mine" Abby joked smacking her arm.
