Julia stopped by Fitzgerald's desk smiling, she sat some papers down. He could tell she was flirting he had already spent a week in this office trying to convince her he wasn't interested. She was shallow and ditsy with an average face and her parents have money; what a shocker. It really bothered Fitz that fathers would basically sell their daughters to the highest bidder. Politics is a shady, place especially for the "wives" of these men. They're props and they don't even see it. He couldn't count on his hands how many times jerry tried this with him. "Perfect wive, perfect image." Bullshit and Fitz never fell for it.
"Thanks," Fitz said, getting up before she made another advance on him. Fitz entered his father's office handing him the papers, turning to make his exit.
"Son?" Jerry raised an eyebrow
He stuffed his hands in his pockets "I'm gonna go grab lunch did you want anything?"
"Oh no, that's ok. But I want you to meet someone after lunch" Jerry hollered after Fitz.
Fitz nodded and kept moving. Where did Jerry get the idea that Fitz wanted to be stuck behind a desk all summer? He wanted nothing more than to be with Olivia or working on his own internship at the elementary school. Fitz finally realized that his father doesn't own him, he owns the money that provides Fitz with "a grand" life. A life Fitz would give up in a heartbeat. In two months when school starts; Fitz will be entering his third year, majoring in English/liberal arts and minoring in sociology. Jerry doesn't know this...yet. He's still in denial of the fact that Fitz wants nothing to do with politics and instead wants to teach. Big Jerry thinks it's "meaningless and beneath" a grant to have such minuscule ambitions. His father came from nothing so when they built their image and wealth Jerry refused to let it go.
Fitz drove around until he ended up at the beach. With the sun shining bright, the Segal's flocking around in the sand, and the sound of his radio playing quietly. He feels contempt, happy, watching as the waves wash onto the rocks. He wanders what Olivia is doing, how she's doing?
"Hi" he can hear the smile on her face.
"Hi. I miss you" Olivia confesses.
"My father has me working as his office aid, and as I'm filing documents my mind drifts off to you and for the whole day you're all I think about."
"I have something for you," she blushed.
"you do?"
"When will I see you?"
he lets out a tired sigh rubbing the back of his neck "Soon. I hope, Livvie."
"Fitzgerald" big Jerry called out to him, Fitz detoured approaching his father and another gentleman, slightly older, conservative with a large belly.
"I want you to meet, Cyrus Beene. He's a professor at Yale. You'll probably be in his political studies lecture" Jerry declared.
Plastering on a fake smile, he nodded fervently, not eager to start an argument in front of this stranger. With one swift nod and a quick handshake, Fitz entertained his father by asking Mr been some questions about his class.
He and Cyrus talked for a while actually somewhat enjoying what Cyrus had to say. Fitz has never had an interest in politics or law however it was an interesting topic. Maybe if his father wasn't so controlling he'd consider a school like Yale.
Olivia sat with her head rested in her palms, exhausted. She didn't realize the unique process of Harvard applications. If her father hadn't been pushing for her to attend Howard maybe...she wouldn't have spent half the summer trying to convince him to let her go to Harvard- just for him to unexpectedly relent and rent her a condo. However, she's extremely grateful. But deciding between majors and filling out this application isn't how she wanted to spend her afternoon.
"Sweetheart" Eli tapped her lightly.
Olivia stirred, lifting her head "Dad?"
"Yeah, did you finish?"
He asked, prying a document from under her hand. Giving it the once over. He nodded approvingly. "Looks great, there are some envelopes in the study and you'll be all set."
Olivia got up, grabbing a bottle of water from the refrigerator. Taking small sips she nodded.
"Dad, do I have to go to the 4th of July party?"
"Olivia, we go every year, I thought you liked going and seeing the First children."
Olivia glanced over at the invitations and rolled her eyes. The Reston children were the worst, they had money, status and their father is the president and still, they wanted more. Olivia liked to think she was raised better than that, even living adjacent lives to the first children she had morals and human decency.
Samuel Reston, the two-term president, and her father's best friend. They'd known each other since Eli was the CIA director and he was just a junior senator. So Olivia knows the family very well and every year Eli drags her to the White House 4th of July celebration.
"I do" and she kept it at that, if he didn't know by now she wasn't gonna tell him. Plus Reston's term is ending soon. So it's whatever.
"we'll have fun" he smiled, leaving the kitchen.
Olivia shook her head, piling the papers up, neatly before going and getting the envelope. On her way over to Quinn's house, she dropped it in the mailbox.
"Hi Mrs. Perkins"
"Olivia, how are you today...come in" Laura hugged, the teen.
"Mom" Quinn stopped at the landing, giving her mother an annoyed look. "What's up Olivia?"
"I just finished applications and I came to see if you wanted to go get lunch?" Olivia asked, looking to her mother and back at her friend.
Quinn glanced at the clock noting the time, it was after two but nothing to get out of the house. "Yeah sure, lemme grab my keys"
"Oh we can take my car" she suggested.
"Cool" Quinn, jumped off the all last stair, following Olivia. "See you later mom." Quinn waved off to her mother.
"Bye, honey"
Olivia and Quinn stopped by a food truck down on 10th and took a walk from there. Olivia could see Quinn's irritation toward her mother, so she prompted a conversation around that. Abby and Quinn both had issues with their mothers, although Olivia couldn't figure out Quinn's beef with Laura. From childhood, Olivia always saw the two together, and even after the divorce Laura made time for her...not that she had much else to do.
"Quinn, why are you being mean to your mom?"
"I'm not...she's just annoying. She acts like she has a say in where I go to school. My mom doesn't want me to stay in Ohio. I like it there, Liv" Quinn reasoned.
"Okay, but you're still gonna visit me in Cambridge right?" Olivia playfully nudged her friend, smiling.
"Always"
"We should bring Abby some of this stuff," Quinn said stuffing her mouth with the last of the tacos.
Liv nodded, with a mouth full of food.
"Surprise" Quinn and Olivia shouted, walking in Abby's hose before she could invite them in.
Abby closed the door, turning to see the pair grinning holding a brown bag.
"Is this for me?"
"Yup and I just finished my applications for Harvard. So we should celebrate with movies and gossip"
Abby had already decided on Harvard and did the applications before their graduation, at that time Olivia still didn't have the green light. So Abby nagged her about those applications damn near all summer.
"We're going to Harvard" Abby shrieked, jumping around.
Quinn laughed rolling her eyes, she stood at the first stair promptly waiting for them to follow. Upstairs, the girl ended up asleep after Abby ranted about her parents, and Olivia filled them in about the visit to Harvard and her new apartment. While watching legally blonde. Quinn thought it'd be appropriate considering the pair would off there in the fall.
It was late, Fitz was ready to go home. For the third time today, Fitz stepped into his father's office.
"Dad, I need to go to Washington"
Big Jerry leaned forward, removing his reading glasses. "I need you here" he countered "what business do you have there anyway?"
Sigh "I just need a couple of days off and I'll be back"
"I asked what business-
"I don't wanna start this, I'm just telling you out of courtesy"
"Courtesy?" He scoffed shaking his head. "Go...before I change my mind"
Fitz turned to leave his father's dim-lit office. He had already made travel plans. Fitz got home, packed, and made his jaunt to Washington.

Olivia and Quinn woke up groggy, never fall asleep in Abby's room she always has the A/c blasting. They groaned, wiping sleep from their eyes. Abby was gone. The pair looked to each other shaking their heads before getting up. Trotting down the stairs they could hear Abby and her mother arguing. It had been a minute since Olivia and Quinn spent the night but it definitely wasn't a rare occurrence even at this time of the morning.
Hearing them come down, Abby waved her mother off. Mumbling insults under her breath. She was probably too drunk to remember this argument later on. Considering she always is. She wonders why her father is with her or how he can even stand to be in her presence. She always smelled of vodka and cigarette smoke, and whenever Abby came home. There was a disagreement about something.
Abby rolled her eyes meeting them in the hall,
"Good morning," she greets as if they hadn't heard everything. But they weren't going to bring it up.
"Good morning, uh I was just gonna head out, my father is flying to Houston. There are some fossils there I guess"
"Yea...we just wanted to let you know we're heading out" Quinn chimed.
"Ok, well I'll see you later. Thanks for coming by"
"Anytime," they said in unison.
Olivia drove Quinn home and met her father just as daniel was loading his bags. She greeted daniel and continued into the house.
"Dad?"
"Liv, I'm off but I had ruby go to the grocery store. You have you're car and credit cards." Eli kissed Olivia goodbye, trotting down a few steps.
"Be safe" she called out, waving.
Olivia went upstairs, stripping she took a shower. As Olivia opened her door, She heard the sound of her phone vibrating on the top of her dresser.
"Fitz?"
"Livvie, are you ready for a surprise?" He crooned
"What kind of surprise?" She giggled, adjusting the towel around her body.
"I'm in your city, I need someone to show me around"
Olivia's cheeks flushed, she rushed to the closet looking for an outfit.
"Meet me at my house in 20" she instructed,
"Ok...I'll see you then, Livvie"
Her face lit up 20 minutes later when Fitz emerged from the white BMW rental. Fitz got out with the brightest smile. Olivia couldn't wait any longer she rushed burying her face into the curve of his neck and hugged me tightly, her soft voice murmuring how much she missed him. Fitz breathed into her hair holding her tighter. It's strange how they've grown accustomed to each other just after three weeks, as unconventional as it is, they might be in love. they pulled back simultaneously.
"So this is where you grew up? it's beautiful."
"Yea my mom and dad bought it when I was a baby, it's been perfect all this time. Exception with repairs and add ons." liv turned smiling at the white house with pink trim.
"I wanna take you away somewhere, do you have a curfew." he joked.
she playfully punched him. "My dad is in Houston"
"Off we go and I know you're tired of surprises but this is the last one I promise"
They drove for half an hour past working farms, Olivia stared out the window peering at the goats and cows. Until they drove into the city. Fitz dropped one hand from the wheel, holding her hand. She beamed at him, bringing his hand up to her mouth to kiss and then resting it back on her thigh.
Another ten minutes in the city and then Fitz pulled into the parking lot of the city carnival. Instead of sleeping, last night Fitz searched for nearby carnivals. It was something his mother and he did before she died. It was probably the last memory Fitz has of her. He was so young when it happened, he barely understood all he knew was his mother was going away and he'd never get to see her again.
With wide eyes and a smirk, Olivia turned to Fitz. The large luminous Ferris wheel caught her attention. Carnivals weren't something her mother or father was a fan of. Her mother didn't like large crowds and feared she'd get lost, and Eli worked a government job he wasn't keen on taking little Livvie out in public where he didn't have an eye on her at all times. Plus he knew that kidnappers scouted places like city fairs and playgrounds to find kids for tracking rings. After all his talk of kidnappers and bad men, Olivia was good off carnivals or street fairs. This would be her first, she wasn't sure if Fitz knew that but it's sweet that he chose this place.
Hand in hand, the couple entered the fair. It was packed with families. The carny folk was doing tricks and stunts. Olivia stopped watching the man on stilts, juggle three basketballs. Her mouth fell open, amazed. Fitz smiled down at her, still gripping her hand. Fitz pulled her off to the side.
"Have you ever-"
She shook her head, chuckling "Kidnappers"
With furrowed eyebrows, he asked... "what?"
"Don't ask...so what's your favorite activity?"
"That" he answered pointing at the giant wheel.
Simultaneously looking at each other, smiling. Fitz led her to the line. It wasn't long, people were mostly watching the circus and the other stuntmen and women in the square. Fitz paid the man and boarded the ride. Olivia hadn't realized how high they'd be up until they were up there. Fitz didn't notice, she was having a mini panic attack. She was doing the number one thing you're warned not to do...looking down. From the height, everything below looked tiny...like ant-sized. And it freaked her out. At first, she was gripping the bar, tightly and then she let go and latched onto Fitz. Squeezing him.
"Liv? Are you scared?" He didn't need to ask, it was written all over her face.
Nodding vigorously, she swallowed hard. "When are we going down?"
Feeling bad, he releases his hold on the bar, cupped her cheeks, and kissed her. He felt her grip loosen and he knew then, he relaxed her. By the time the wheel was back at where they started, they were in a full make-out session. Olivia didn't even realize they were at the bottom until the ride coordinator, tapped Fitz's shoulder causing him to break the kiss. He gave them a stern look.
"Sorry" Olivia giggled, climbing out.
"That was awesome" Fitz felt like a kid again, except now he's standing with the girl he loves. He has to wonder if she loves him too. If she's already figured it out to...they're soulmates.
Fitz and Olivia ran off laughing, they stopped by the cotton candy stan He gazed steadily at her with a calm and regal expression, his eyes shining softly.
"Olivia Pope. I- do you want cotton candy" he almost said. It was right on the tip of his tongue. Fitz knew he loved her, he just needed her to be ready.
"Yes," she replied with rosy cheeks.
They eventually made it back home. They lean against the car, kissing and whispering sweet affectionate words to one another. Fitz stepped back, embarrassed he wasn't sure if she felt it but he was hard. Olivia giggled pulling him closer, slipping her leg between his.
"Come inside." she requested, breathly.
"I shouldn't" he debated
"I want you to," she told him while peppering kisses from his ear down the structure of his jawline.
He couldn't say no to her and he desperately wanted to share himself with her.
He took a step forward, his heart racing with excitement and intrigue. Olivia was nervous despite the bold move she just made. she wasn't a virgin but she pretty damn close. Last year she and Edison finally took their two-year relationship to the next level, and she went all the way with him. At the time she felt ready but to be completely transparent, she woke up the next morning full of regret. Olivia didn't talk to Edison for a week and when he confronted her, she told him she didn't feel comfortable with what they did. He promised her they didn't have to do it again, she'd be lying to say she wasn't surprised not many men like to wait and Edison wasn't one of them either. He was getting it elsewhere Olivia was just the perfect girlfriend so he "put up with her." She's glad that she finally broke up with that asshole.

The pair, fell through her door, lips firmly locked together. Hands roaming each other, Fitz reached to turn on the light but was stopped by Olivia, pulling him onto the bed.
She sat propped on her elbows peering while he disrobed. She was already underneath the covers he silently cursed the heavens. He wanted to appreciate the woman in front of him. Fitz crawled beneath the comforter. His lips touched every inch of her, kissing his way to the top where his lips crashed down on hers. She moaned against his lips as his forefinger and index circled her clit.
"Have you been touched here?"
She bit her lip nodding vigorously.
"Like this?"
"No" her breathing became uneven and shallow.
"I'm gonna do something to you" he promised, with a lustful smirk.
Olivia submitted and he disappeared under the coffee brown duvet making a tent with her bended knees. He kissed and caressed. her sweet essence coating his fingers driving them in and out of her simultaneously sucking on the swollen bud. Topside Olivia keened arching her back. Fitz hooked his forearm around her thigh holding her in place as he continued to ravage her. When he was done he left her panting she could barely form a sentence. He smirked kissing her directly on the mouth.
"I want you to-"
"We don't have protection" he cautioned.
"Pull out" she suggested, she had done it with Edison and she was fine afterward.
"Are you sure?" He could see her face, but at a certain angle, the moonlight shone through.
"Yea" her hand palmed his curls drawing him into a kiss, Their tongues danced, sucking.
Fitz positioned them into missionary. He hitched her right leg over his hip. "Don't move" he whispered Liv nodded biting her lip. He slowly started putting the tip in, her body tensed and her eyes snapped shut. Fitz halted his movements "open your eyes... do you want me to stop"
"Keep going" she exhaled, not realizing she had been holding her breath. Fitz continued as he felt Olivia's body quiver underneath him. He dropped his head to the nape of her neck as he went in with one sharp thrust. Olivia cried out "oh my god" trying to hold back her moans. "Scream as loud as you want," Fitz said as he moved in and out of her slowly and gently. Loud Moans sounded the room as Fitz pumped into her until she reached her orgasm Fitz slowed down as he got closer to his point, Olivia jerked as she felt herself getting closer. "Say my name" Fitz moaned kissing her. "ah oh my- fuck...Fitzzz" She cried as she reached her climax, squeezing her legs around his body. Fitz stroked one more time pulling out, spraying her stomach with his sticky semen. Fitz fell next to her panting, hard. "Are you okay"? he asked
"Yea" she flashed a smile before running off to the bathroom.
Olivia took a shower and wrapped herself in a towel. When she got back Fitz was asleep. She smiled softly sliding in next to him.
"Hi, Livvie"
"Jesus, I thought you were asleep," she said, startled.
"I was. Are you okay"
"Yea I just needed a shower"
He nodded, opening his arms for her. They fit together like a puzzle piece. Olivia didn't go to sleep right away she just lied there, thinking.

It was early, the sun was shining and the birds were singing. Fitz was gone though. Olivia trotted downstairs finding a half-naked Fitz in the kitchen drinking orange juice straight from the bottle. She closed her eyes shaking her head.
"Were you born on a farm?" Mocking him.
"A ranch" damn, he had a smart mouth.
And just like that... his arms were wrapped around her waist, swaying them side to side.
"What do you wanna do today?"
Olivia touched her chin like she was deeply thinking about something. "Let's just stay here watch a movie or something, and some other things." She smirked.
"And other things," he repeated, lifting her onto the counter. His hands-on both sides of her hips, he kissed her lips softly before going back in kissing her roughly. Fitz tugged at the band of her shorts.
"Not in the kitchen, nasty" she teased, jumping from the counter.
"Oh, the living room" he teased back.
"Maybe I'll come to Santa Barbara and Fuck you all of your family home." She says as she runs her fingers down the bulge in his pants. Olivia moved towards the stairs, still teasing him.
"I wouldn't object to that," he said slyly.
"Are you coming?" She asked, darting up the stairs. Fitz chuckled running after her.

After their little morning glory, Olivia and Fitz cooked breakfast. Surprisingly Fitz is a better cook than she thought. Later they picked a movie and stayed hugged up on the couch for the rest of the afternoon.
"Oh, I almost forgot" Olivia didn't say what she almost forgot she just got up and went to her room. Fitz chuckled to himself, she sure can be weird. She came back with her hands behind her back hiding something with a big cat smile on her face.
"What you got there?" Fitz inquired, curiously.
"Remember when I said I have something for you?"
"Yea"
Olivia pulled, a teacher bobbled head from behind her back. She picked it up in the gift shop at Harvard.
"Livvie did you really get me this" he grabbed it carefully, bobbing the head around. "You remembered"
"Of course I did. I think you should put this on your desk when you become a teacher"
"That's perfect, I gotta get you a lawyer one."
She leaned over kissing him. "I'll hold you to that"
Fitz grinned, admiring the bobbing statue.
"Thank you"
