I just had to write this. This is fairly drabblish i.e. short. It was written at 3am…and just had to be written. This is not my first House fic…I have a mammoth story that I'm working on, as well as a finished one shot I want to tweak before posting, but this is my first House fic for public viewing.

The Stethoscope
James Wilson paced in front of the town house. He didn't know why he didn't just go to a hotel or motel until he got his own place. He could certainly afford it, at least until his divorce to Julie went through. House didn't want him there anyway. The stethoscope had been hanging on the door for hours. House's well spanned tribute to classic rock drowned out anything that he would have found interesting to listen to. Eventually, exhaustion gave out and he decided to rest his head for just a minute…
He awoke with the imprint of the cold, paving stones on his face. It was cold and dark out. Truthfully, it wasn't the most uncomfortable place he'd been forced to sleep. After all, hehad been through three wives and endless girlfriends.
House appeared at the door, clad in grey sweatpants and a black Pink Floyd T-shirt.
"I thought that there was a possibility that you died." Wilson said, and rubbed his face. "It's freezing out here!"
"All dogs go to heaven, Jimmy."
"If you wanted to work, why didn't you just say so?"
"I told you, I'd put the stethoscope—"
"Right--on the door if you were having sex. So where is she then?" he asked skeptically.
Wilson was wide eyed as he spotted the woman in the door way.
"I thought I saw your car parked down the street, Dr. Cuddy."
"Good night, Dr. Wilson." said Lisa Cuddy, as she sashayed past him.
"Six month checkup." said House with a smirk.
"Unbelievable." Wilson said.
House clicked his tongue.
