A/N: Ten! Ten! Ten! Hello there! This is tendaysromeo and welcome to the second chapter of DreamTheater Intermix: The World Within!
In this chapter, the story will officially kicks-off the plot.
10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Countdown is over, so let's get this chapter on the go!
Disclaimer: I don't own anything in this story aside from some OCs, the plot and the settings.
The story opens with a single blue & white-colored bus travelling across a long road in the middle of nowhere, and we're not talking about the Middle of Nowhere in Kansas, the bus is currently travelling across the middle of nowhere with no mountains, trees or any types of civilizations in sight.
Until one building made it's presence from the distance.
A few minutes later, the bus reaches the building before parking in front it, the vehicle stood in silence for a minutes when a small explosion is heard from inside which shook the bus a little, and all of a sudden the bus' doors open and out came every passengers including the bus driver while a brown-colored smoke oozes out of the vehicle.
And the passengers includes Tenma Daytona Romeoford, Edwin "Ed" Horace Hall, Eddward "Edd & Double D" Marion Vicente, Eddy Skipper McGee, Kevin Dorscherr, Nazz Van Bartonschmeer, Jimmy Tweetums, Sarah Hall, Rolf Von Olsson, Lee Kanker, Marie Kanker, May Kanker, Jonny 2x4 and Plank.
Everyone are panting heavily while savoring the fresh air bestowed upon them.
"Gods... I thought I was about to die in there!" Tenma exclaimed in disbelief before glaring at Eddy and Ed, "What's the big idea tossing around balloon balls filled with El Mongo Stink Bombs?!" he demanded in annoyance and Ed & Eddy responded by giving them horse-like grins, "Why you two little..." he growled.
Eddy raised his hands up, "Take it easy." he advised, "We've been on the road for quite a while now and Ed & I are getting bored." he reasoned.
"Then what's the point of bringing your gadgets along?!" Tenma questioned in disbelief.
"We ran out of batteries." Ed answered.
Tenma then facepalmed in disbelief, "Seriously?" he muttered, "I've been recharging everyone's devices using my magic and not once THAT crossed your minds?!" he exclaimed.
Ed and Eddy stared at him response, "Oooohhh..." they uttered in realization.
Tenma then began to roll his sleeves up, "Why I oughta'..." he growled but Double D grabs his right shoulder, stopping him from ending the lives of the two troublesome Eds.
"Now, now, Tenma..." Double D chastised, "As much as I condemned Ed and Eddy's actions but let's put that all behind us and just focus what we had at the moment." he advised, "As it seems that we finally reached our destination." he pointed out.
Tenma sighed, "I guess so..." he uttered.
Kevin then spoke, "Umm... we got a problem here." he announced, "Because I had doubts that this is right place." he voiced out in concern.
Everyone then looks up and their eyes widen in shock and disbelief.
To describe the building in front of them as normal would be an understatement. The building, despite it's large size, is utterly plain-looking with it's gray-colored walls with no windows in sight and the only way in is a red-colored metallic double door.
In Ed and Jonny's mind, the building can be described as an upside down cardboard box with a door.
Eddy raised an eyebrow, "This is the City Saints Academy?" he questioned in disbelief, "It looks like an abandoned factory for illegal stuffs!" he described.
Lee then turns around to the bus driver, "Hey bus driver!" she called out, "Are you sure that this is the right place?!" she demanded.
Everyone then turns to see the bus driver already back inside the vehicle, he let's out an amused chuckle, "Yep." he answered bluntly before pulling a lever which closes the bus' door shut, the vehicle then quickly drove off, leaving everyone behind.
"Hey!" Eddy called out, "Get back here you son of a bitch!" he demanded.
"Jeepers." Jimmy squeaked, "I don't know about you guys but I think that bus driver just abandoned us." he assumed in fear.
"Calm down, Jimmy." Sarah advised, "No need to panic." she added.
Nazz then spoke, "Guys..." she uttered, "You don't think that this whole thing is a scam?" she assumed.
Eddy shook his head, "Nah, I use to do scams and I can figure things out if it's a scam or not." he replied.
"But you were an amateur scammer back then." Kevin pointed out, "And professional scammers had better skills than you." he stated.
Eddy thought about it, "Huh... you got a point." he admitted.
Tenma then brought out the letter invitation given to him, reading it's contents a bit before looking at the building in front of them, "Well... according to the letter..." he spoke, "... a student representative will greet us in front of the building." he shared, "And if this student representative didn't show up, then it's safe to assume that this shit is indeed a scam." he declared.
Marie looks around, "Well... I don't see anyone besides us." she pointed out.
"Maybe they're still inside." May guessed, "I mean... it's possible that we came here early." she assumed.
"May had a point." Double D said in agreement, "Guess we'll just have to wait until someone comes out." he beckoned.
"Great." Eddy grumbled in annoyance.
"Have patience Ed-boy." Rolf spoke, "One must not let impatience get the best of themselves." he advised, "Rolf suggest that we look around while we wait." he advised.
"What is there to look for Rolf?" Kevin questioned, "WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF FUCKING NOWHERE!" he pointed out, "I can't even see any mountains or buildings from the distance!" he added.
Rolf thought about it, "Hmm... the vast distance is making Rolf stupefied." he uttered.
As everyone had a conversation, Jonny looks around when his attention is then focused on the plank wood in his hands, "What's that Plank?" he asked before leaning his right ear close to the piece of wood, listening carefully with a raised eyebrow, "You want us to brace ourselves for what?" he questioned in confusion.
"Hi there!" a voice greeted.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" everyone screamed in surprise and fright.
Right in front of them is a giggling girl and when the giggling & screaming stopped, the girl decided to speak, "Hi there!" she greeted, "My name is Pinkamena Diane Pie but you can call me Pinkie Pie!" she introduced herself, "And I'm the student representative tasked to show you around the academy." she explained.
Eddy then marches towards her, "Don't ever do that again!" he demanded, "You nearly gave me a heart attack..." he grumbled.
"Wait?! You're the student representative?" Double D questioned.
"But we never saw you come out that door!" Tenma pointed out.
Pinkie giggled, "Oh, I'm already here outside waiting for you guys to arrive." she answered, "I just decided to skip around this area as I wait and I must be at the back of the building when you guys arrived." she explained.
"That make sense." Double D admitted.
"Anywhoo..." Pinkie resumed, "I welcome you all to City Saints Academy!" she greeted, "I hope we all get along well!" she expressed with a cheerful smile.
After everyone introduced themselves, Tenma looks at the building with a raised eyebrow before speaking, "Pinkie? Are you sure that this place is the City Saints Academy?" he questioned, "Because it looks nothing like a school to me." he commented.
Pinkie giggled once more, "Oh... that's just the surface, it's what's inside that matters." she replied before skipping towards the double door, "Follow me!" she beckoned.
The kids from cul-de-sac looks at each other for a minute before begrudgingly following her, Pinkie then stopped skipping as she got in front of the entrance when all of a sudden a holographic entrance arch appears before everyone, much to their surprise.
"W-W-What is that?!" Jimmy squeaked in fear.
Pinkie Pie brought out a notepad, flipping a few pages before reading one, "This is a specialized entrance to our school." she revealed, "This special entrance serves as a registration booth for our school and it will decide if a person deserves to be a student in this school or not." she explained.
"Hi-Tech." Eddy expressed in awe.
"That's a unique way of registration." Double D admitted.
"But how do we register?" Tenma asked, "Do we just walk past through it like some sort of airport metal detector?" he assumed.
Pinkie checks her notepad again, "Nope!" she dismissed, "Just stand in the middle of the entrance arch and present your letter of invitation." she instructed, "So, who's up first?" she asked.
Everyone responded in silence while looking at each other briefly but none of them uttered a single word for a minute until Double D let's out a sigh.
"Might as well start with me." Double D declared which earned him a thumbs-up of approval from Eddy, Ed and Kevin. The straight A student rolled his eyes in annoyance before stepping inside the entrance arch and presented his letter of invitation.
Suddenly, a large rectangular-shaped holographic screen appeared above the arch with some sort of schematics.
"Scanning... scanning..." a feminine robotic voice spoke from the screen, "Eddward Marion Vicente, 17-years old, is now officially registered as a student for City Saints Academy." the voice declared, much to everyone's awe.
"My! How fascinating!" Double D uttered in delight.
After Double D steps out of the holographic arch, everyone then takes turn in registering with Tenma being the last one to do so. Then all of a sudden, a holographic camera appears before everyone which then proceeds to take a shot of them one by one, temporarily blinding them a bit.
"Yeow!" Eddy yelped, "What was that for?!" he demanded.
"Oh! It's just taking your photos for your IDs." Pinkie answered, "The school strictly advised that students must carry their IDs at all times." she shared, "Otherwise... you'll be in a lot of trouble." she stated.
"What will happen if you forgot your ID?" Nazz asked.
"For the first offense, if you got caught without your ID five times, you'll get a disciplinary action." Pinkie replied, "For the second offense, if you got caught without your ID ten times, you'll get suspended for a month and will be kicked out of school for the time being." she furthered, "And for the third offense, if you got caught without your ID in a number beyond ten, you'll get expelled, kick out of school, get your memories erased and will be banned from attending the City Saints Academy for life!" she concluded with a big smile.
"HOLD UP!" Tenma exploded in disbelief, "Isn't the punishment for the third offense too much?!" he questioned, "The hell do the school needs to erase someone's memories?! What's even the point of that?!" he exclaimed.
"For security measures, I guess." Lee assumed.
"Definitely for security measures." Marie uttered in agreement.
"Rolf must question magic boy's doubts over the school's choices of regulations." Rolf voiced out.
Tenma facefaulted, "Why are you guys calm?" he questioned in disbelief.
A minute later, the entrance arch disappeared and is then replaced by a bin-shaped hologram with some sort of slot on the upper part, and coming out from the slot are rectangular-shaped identification cards with their pictures on it.
"We got our ID cards..." Tenma mentioned, "... so, what's next?" he asked.
"Since you guys are officially registered as students and you got your IDs." Pinkie mentioned, "I think it's about time that we enter this building and introduce you to our school!" she declared.
"Let's get this over with." Eddy grumbled.
Pinkie then snaps her fingers and the double door slides open, and everyone are greeted by the sight of a bright light, much to everyone's surprise and confusion.
"What's with the light show?" Eddy asked.
Pinkie giggled, "You'll see." she replied.
Pinkie then proceeds to skip through the door and then disappearing out of everyone's sight. Everyone then looks at each other for a minute before begrudgingly following Pinkie's example by skipping through the door while shielding their eyes from the light and when the blinding lights subsided, they opened their eyes and is greeted by the sight of something unbelievable.
Right in front of them is large and vast city that looks like a mixed between Akihabara, New York and London with numerous colorful buildings, futuristic vehicles going around the road with a few of them flying across the sky and speaking of the sky, it's actually artificial which is made of glass roofs that you often see in domes and the blue sky is nothing but a holographic screen however it's so realistic that it's hard to notice.
And if that wasn't shocking enough, the people going around the city made their eyes wide in disbelief. Despite the numerous normal looking humans in sight, the gang noticed some individuals with unique features such as having cat ears, dog tails, robotic features, colorful skin tones and pointy ears, and they even spotted anthropomorphic animals and objects with human bodies.
Heck... they even saw figures twice their size and even spotted different individual with weirdly shaped bodies and proportions.
"Welcome to City Saints Academy!" Pinkie hailed cheerfully, "The world within a world!" she declared, "So what do you guys think?" she asked.
Marie, Lee, May, Nazz and Sarah had their hands covering their mouth with Lee mouthing 'what the fuck' while Tenma, Ed, Double D, Eddy, Kevin and Jonny's jaws dropped to the ground with the accompanying sound of a cash register, and Rolf had to pluck his eyes out, breath on it and then wiping it on his shirt before putting it back on his sockets.
And as for Jimmy... he fainted.
Pinkie giggled, "I sure love these kinds of reactions." she commented.

Tenma Daytona Romeoford - Tenma had a fair skin tone, he is quite tall and had a lanky physique. He had a spiky black hair and dull black eyes. He wears a green-colored high-collared jacket, black jogging pants and green & black rubber shoes. He wears a red headband with white tribal designs.
Ed, Edd n Eddy
Eddy - Eddy had a short stature with jet black hair with three strands on top, he had brown eyes and he had pinkish skin tone. He wears a yellow polo shirt with a purple collar/sleeve hems and a vertical red stripe on the right side. He also wears light blue pants as well as a wallet chain and plain red shoes.
Edd Marion - Edd/Double D had a lanky physique, he had black hair covered by a black beanie hat with three hairs sticking out and he had green eyes. He wears an orange shirt, purple shorts, red socks, blue & yellow creamed sneakers.
Ed Horace - Ed is very tall, he had a short-orange hair, he had blue eyes and he had yellowish skin tone. He wears a green jacket over a red & white striped shirt, purple pants and black & yellow creamed shoes.
Rolf - Rolf is pretty tall with a brown skin tone, he had dark green eyes and he had a dark-blue hair. He wears a yellow T-shirt with a red horizontal stripe, light blue jeans and red & cream shoes.
Kevin - Kevin had a light peach skin tone, he had orange hair underneath a red baseball hat with a black peak backwards with three long strands sticking out from under it and he had light-green eyes. He wears a long-sleeved lime green shirt, black shorts and black-colored shoes.
Jimmy - Jimmy had a short and a frail physique, he had a fluffy white hair, a fair skin tone and magenta-colored eyes. He wears a cyan colored sweater, white pants with a black belt, dark brown shoes with black soles and a brace ring.
Jonny 2x4 - Jonny had a brown skin tone, he had a bald head with many bristles of hair and had dark-colored eyes. He wears a white T-shirt, dark blue jeans and black sandals.
Plank - Plank is a yellow piece of wood with a blue curved line for his mouth, red circles for eyes, and blue dots for pupils. It also has a chip in the upper right corner of it's head.
Nazz Van Bartonschmeer - Nazz had a short blonde hair and she had teal eyes. She wears a black t-shirt over a white tank top, blue/purple jeans and black shoes with white soles.
Sarah - Sarah had a short appearance, she had a semi-long ginger-colored hair, she had a fair skin tone and she had pink eyes. She wears a pink tank top, blue jeans, hot pink shoes and white earrings.
Lee Kanker - Lee had a curly orange/ginger hair that covers her eyes and had freckles on her face. She wears a white tank top with red polka-dots on it, golden earrings, blue jeans with a pink belt and purple shoes with white soles.
Marie Kanker - Marie had a pale skin tone, she had dark-colored eyes and a short blue hair that covers her right eye. She wears a black tank top that stops right above her midriff, green non-camouflaged BDU pants with a pink belt, a dark green wristband on her left arm and black shoes with gray soles.
May Kanker - May had a long blonde hair, she had dark-colored eyes, she had freckles on her face and a visible bucktooth. She wears a a gray t-shirt, red shorts, yellow socks and red shoes with gray soles.
My Little Pony: Equestria Girls
Pinkamena Diane Pie - Pinkie Pie had a light-pinkish skin tone, she had a waist-length puffy pink hair and she had light-blue eyes. She wears a white top with blue outlines and balloon logos on her chest, a pink tutu-like ruffled skirt over a white leggings and blue sandals with pink ribbon laces.
In the next chapter, the gang will be exploring the school-slash-city while meeting a few characters along the way, so I hope you all look forward for it.
