Chapter 5: Two Together

-That Night-

I gazed up at the night sky observing the many stars glimmering from above. I wonder if Mom and Dad are staring back down at me? Were they protecting me? Maybe giving me strength to move on from their horrific deaths. Either way I believe they're up there somewhere.

I brushed off the harsh memory and decided to think about when Dimika would show up. "I wonder if I should've given her a location?", I thought. Just then,

"BOO!", I came face to face with Dimika who pinned me to the ground scaring the crap out of me. Seeing my horrified facial expression she got off of me laughing to herself. "Your face is priceless."

For a second I thought she was her crazy sister who had pinned me down. God knows what would happen if she ever got her hands on me. I hate to imagine the kind of things she'd do to me if given the chance.

"Christ you nearly made me piss myself.", I said feeling my heart in my throat. "Glad you're finally here at least."

"I'm honestly happy to finally be able to talk to someone my age for once. "You're the first male I've ever really liked. There's Something about you just draws me to you."

"You're quite the sweet talker.", I commented blushing. "For a second I thought you were that crazy sister of yours. What's her deal anyway? You two don't seem to share the same way of thinking."

Dimika anxiously broke eye contact with me staring up at the sky. "Kanika isn't really fond of me. Ever since our Mother's death we've slowly drifted apart from one another. She'd go as far as blaming me for our Mother's death.", The female Hyena lowered her head and shame while I tried my best to comfort her.

"Why would she say something so cruel?", I asked with repugnance. "You aren't to blame for that."

"Of course I am.", Dimika said otherwise on the verge of tears. "After I was born our Mother became ill. We tried everything to help her heal, but eventually she passed on. I've taken care of myself and Kanika doesn't want anything to do with me."

Poor girl, I rubbed the soft spotted fur on her back. "Come here you.", I muttered bringing her into a hug as she sobbed into my shirt. I respect all females, but her sister is a massive bitch. "I know what its like to lose family. Heck, I lost my Father and my Mother last week on the same day, but the only thing that helped me move on from their deaths was realizing that the situation was out of my control. And so was your mother's death. You are not to blame."

"T-Thank you.", She sniffled and wiped away her remaining tears. "Can I take you somewhere special?"

"Yeah sure."

Dimika had been guiding me through a field of tall grass. After some time we were out in the open.

Before us was a river with crystal clear flowing water. The moon shined it's beauty down upon us. It was breathtaking to say the least.

"It's so beautiful here.", I remarked with astonishment. I seated myself on the soft grass below.

"I'm glad you like it.", Dimika said with appreciation and sat right beside me, her furry body pressed up against my own. "I usually come here when things get really stressful or If I wanna have some alone time, but I'm happy to have someone accompany me at last."

I felt touched at her words and gave her a friendly smile. "You know if it were up to me I'd let you stay with the pride, but they aren't so trusting of Hyenas.", I said. "If there's anything you need help with I can help the best way I can."

"No you don't have to do anything. I manage well on my own.", Dimika stated. "Can I ask you some questions?"

"Sure, Ask away?", I nodded.

"Where did you live before?"

"Georgia.", I replied.

"Gorga?", She attempted to say and I chuckled at her adorableness.

"No, Georgia.", I corrected. "It's part of a bigger place that's called America. That's where my home, my friends, and everything I used to know is."

Dimika didn't find the right words to say to me so she stayed quiet. "Everything has changed for me. I'm stuck in Africa, I live with a pride of lions, I met you.", I rambled. "I've just gotta get used to all this from now on."

Dimika suddenly gasped as if she got an idea. "We could leave the pridelands together. It could be just us and we can protect each other.", Dimika suggested. "It would be fun right?"

So many questions bombarded my mind. I'm all for it, but I'm as lost as it is and I'm not that familiar with Africa. "I would love to do that, but where would we go?", I asked.

"Anywhere but here.", She responded. "And we can always be together. Also I like you...a lot and I always wanna be near you."

I blushed at her straightforwardness. To be honest with myself I think I'm starting to develop feellings for her. Feelings I'm not sure how to express to her. I never thought that I'd ever feel this way about anyone, but now I am. "I...I like you too.", I muttered.

We stared into each others eyes not saying a word. Then the unexpected happened. Dimika pressed her lips into mine sending chills down my spine. She then pulled away and asked, "Did you like it?"

"Y-Yeah...", I responded thinking deeply about what just occured. I awkwardly got to my feet and got ready to return back to the pride. "Umm I think I should be heading back to Pride Rock."

Dimika got a hold of my hand giving me a worried and petrified look. "Please stay.", She pleaded with puppy eyes. "We could sleep out here together? I don't wanna be by myself again."

I couldn't help, but feel bad for her once again. Especially after attempting to leave after the passionate kiss we just shared. "Ok, I'll stay don't worry, but you do know what that kiss meant right?", I questioned.

"We're Mates?", She said.

Mates? Oh hold that's just another term to that means Partners or lovers. "Yeah we're mates.", I agreed. I wouldn't mind giving a relationship a chance. I laid down on the grass beside Dimika. She cuddled up next to me tucking her head up underneath my chin.

"I love you.", She purred before shutting her eyes.

"Love you too."
