Argentum: Alright another chapter, I hope you all enjoy it because I don't really have much to say. Accept that we've finally done it. We were honestly way to lazy and were completely distracted from making this. So sorry about that.
Slayer: Yeah we messed that one up but we'll be making more chapters from here on out. Hopefully...
Tanjiro: Something tells me I'll not enjoy this chapter…
Judan: I'm sure you'll do juuust fine.
Tanjiro/Argentum: I hate you.
Judan: Have we had this conversation before? Because it feels as if we've had this conversation before.
Grel'Slyfer: A better question is when have you not had this conversation before.
Judan: Fair enough.
Argentum: Ugh… since we can't invite any guests without major spoilers. You will start us off Judan.
Judan: Fair enough. Ahem… we don't own anything but our own made up stuff. Now without further ado…
Everyone: Here's the story!
Argentum: Why do you do me dirty like this?
Judan: Because now you have to go along with the poll we made all those months ago.
Argentum: ...I hate you...
Judan: Aww I hate you to!~
Slayer: Me too...

Chapter Sixty One: How we dealt With the Police or… How we Ran into some Interesting People…
It was a bright day the sun was shining and the birds were- "Get back here you Hooligans!"
"Run! Just keep running!"
"Get back here! You're not allowed to carry knives much less swords like that!" Yeah we started our mission by running from the police. Thankfully we were faster and more agile and lost them by jumping to the top of a building. "Hey! Where did they go?!" Seeing how we were safe we fell onto our backs, more mentally exhausted than anything.
"Michael… Just what the hell is this place?!" Now that got a wince from me. He rarely used my names nowadays, or cursed for that matter.
"Well, this is just the result of outlawing swords for the last… I don't actually know…" I did not feel comfortable with the look he gave me.
"What do you mean you don't know? Sounds like you did but then suddenly became confused!"
Sighing I sat up and pointed at the sky. "First clue for myself. Was that the sky was blue, not green." Ah yes the look of someone watching an insane person. "Okay let me explain, around a hundred years ago in my world there was an… accident." Seeing Tanjiro nod I continued. "There was an idea to help lower the toxin levels in the ocean. So the world government dumped a bunch of chemicals into it. On the bright side it worked perfectly, downside it turned the ocean green. It's slowly going back to normal but for the most part it is still green."
He gave me an odd look as he sat up. "What does the ocean have to do with the sky being green?" I could not stop the sigh that escaped my lungs. "Let me guess another long and lengthy answer?" Waving my hand I sat up as well.
"Sort of, but to make it very short, the ocean reflects off the sky a bit. More to it than that, but yeah our skies tinted green thanks to it."
After a brief lull in the conversation Tanjiro sighed. "I am compelled to ask why things are so strange in your world." My shrug did nothing for him. "Right… well you were saying?"
Coughing into my fist I continued. "Ahem, well based on what I'm seeing we're simply not in my dimension. Meaning that history could be completely different from what we both know. So yeah while things look at least similar, I don't know the specifics of this dimension's history."
Rubbing his chin while sitting up Tanjiro nodded. "I see, I suppose that fair. Though history doesn't quite matter right now. We have a job to do."
Nodding myself I sat up and looked around. "Agreed, though I wished Judan was more specific on what we're doing." I then looked down at my sword. "Need to hide these again." With a sigh and a nod Tanjiro hid his blade while I did the same. Though with considerable difficulty if I'm being honest. The sword's length was really hampering me. "Alright first thing's first, we need to find some sort of terminal to gather some basic information." His confused face and raised hand had me pointing at him. "Yes? The one in the green."
"Hai! Umm… what's a terminal?"
I pursed my lips at that. "Oh, yeah, suddenly I have a horrible feeling." I decided to not elaborate on anything, instead opting to leave the roof and find a terminal. Better to just show the boy from the past what I was talking about. Unfortunately I was incredibly naive, and had no idea what a less advanced earth even looked like. Yeah we were screwed…
LET'S DO THE TIME WARP LINE BREAK!
As we wandered around we gained strange looks from everyone. Which was to be expected, we were wearing rather suspicious clothes. Though there were a few who shrugged and said something about cosplay. On another note I was the only one who could read seeing how everything was in English. Well mostly read, there seemed to be some differences in the writing. Wasn't exactly sure what some words meant, was completely confused on what a bellend was. All I knew was that it was an insult from some random guy. Still don't know to be honest.
The next problem was when we found a library. "Hmm… hmm… hmmmmm. Yeah I don't know how to use this thing." It was a terminal slash computer. That I knew for sure. HOWEVER! It was so archaic and different looking that I had absolutely no idea on how to use it. "I miss my wrist terminal." Next to me Tanjiro was giving me the stink eye.
"And you seemed so sure you'd know what to do when we go in here." As my eye twitched, I decided to ignore Tanjiro as the ignorant savage that he was, and decided to do things manually.
By manually I mean. "Time for us to start asking for help!" By us I meant me, since Tanjiro was still learning English. Didn't take us too long to get some help, eh I say help, but really it was just a disgruntled teenager who gave me the stink eye the entire time. Decided to ignore it and then used my newfound knowledge to use the internet. Had "fun" explaining that to Tanjiro. "Alright and a few searches on this Hoogle thing and there!" A list of websites popped up, scrolling down I looked at the headlines before banging my head on the table.
"EH! What's wrong Nii San?" I turned to Tanjiro.
"Britain… we're in Britain, London specifically. Year is two thousand and eight." His face soured and then soured more as I continued. "Unfortunately not only are we literally out of both our times. But! Looking at the articles it looks as if strange and horrific things happen every other month or so. I have no idea where to even start with this!"
"SHHHH!" Turning around with a wince I apologized to an older gentleman. "Humph young people these days." As he went back to his newspaper I turned back to Tanjiro.
"As I was trying to say. Not only does this city experience something strange at least twice a month, but the place itself is enormous. The chances of us actually finding what we need to find is ridiculously low."
Putting a hand to Tanjiro thought for a moment. "What if we just looked for things that have happened in the last two months? It wouldn't make much sense for Judan San to send us here to deal with something that's happened months back." I couldn't help but sigh at his faith in the Archdemon.
"You're faith in a literal disciple of Chaos is very unfounded." His lips puckered as I turned back to the computer. "I'm not one to think anything would ever be that simple with that man. Hah…" With a sigh I started clicking on things. "It is however the best idea we've got." Getting out a notebook I started writing in some of the strange occurrences that had been going on. There were about five. Each one seemingly disconnected from the others, but it was the best we got. "If this doesn't work I guess we'll have no choice but to look back further." With a nod Tanjiro followed me out as we walked towards the nearest incident. "Alright according to the news report a family of three disappeared. What was strange was that no one in the building seemed to remember them after they vanished."
That got the kid's head to start thinking. "No one remembered them? But people from outside the apartment did right?" I nodded as I continued.
"That's right, though those people were friends and family that lived at most a few miles away. They also weren't the kind of individuals to always check up on them. If you ask me it sounds like a good target for kidnappers. Especially ones that are able to erase peoples memories." With his mind still whirring Tanjiro spoke up.
"Judan San said something about us needing to learn a lesson in this world. Knowing that, while I want to immediately put the blame on demons, something tells me I'd be off the mark." I nodded while rubbing the back of my head. "Think it could be people who are doing this? I mean we both know magic, think magic might also be something that exists here?"
"Huh, well that's definitely a possibility, still doesn't explain why we are here. If we're supposed to stop any theoretical humans with supernatural powers, then why not just say so? Don't see any sort of lesson in this." As my brother figure shrugged we continued in silence. Not having much to talk about as we crossed the city. Thankfully our destination was only ten minutes away. Also thankfully since the incident happened a month ago, the police were no longer bothering with the case. Well I say thankfully, but only because it allowed us to enter the apartment the family was staying in stealthily.
Tanjiro put it best. "While I'm glad it was so easy to enter, I am saddened by how the police had given up so easily." With a grunt I picked the lock and entered in quietly and swiftly, closing the door behind Tanjiro. "Alright I'll try and sniff things out, you use your eyes." I couldn't help but smirk and ruffle his hair. "Hey! What's that for?!" Deciding not to answer I waved him off as I started looking.
Heh Tanjiro is even starting to give me orders and ideas now. Ahh… they grow up so fast. Looking around I used my Lyb'Craeft to see for the well unseen. On the other side of the apartment Tanjiro was using his enhanced nose to smell out anything. A little talent he developed by both using and being surrounded by magic all the time. As we carefully checked the place I couldn't help but feel an uneasiness in the apartment. As if someone or something was still in it.
"Nii San!" Hearing his voice I rushed over to Tanjiro, I saw that he was down on his knees using his sword to scrape the carpet off the floor. "I can smell something old here." Humming I knelt down and helped him peal the carpet up. Underneath was something I had never seen before. "Seen this before?"
I shook my head as I ran a hand over the strange magic circle we found. "Nope, and looking at it I can only catch a glimpse of what it is. Whoever made this was smart enough to add in some sort of barrier, mostly likely to stop people with my kind of sight. "Most I can tell is that it's some sort of summoning circle, don't know what it summons though." Standing up I took out my notebook, or my journal as I had nothing else, and drew the circle into it. Unfortunately without any kind of magic running through it, I still couldn't figure out its true purpose. "Well onto the next site then. Nothing much we can do here." With that we left to go and investigate the other locations. Though I will admit to getting distracted every now and then.
"Get back here you cheating scum!"
"Why do you always have to gamble and cheat?!"
"I don't know! It's become a bad habit!" With that I had made off with two thousand pounds. "Alright with those distractions out of the way we can investigate this next location~!" Tanjiro didn't bother with me, and kicked open the door to the single house. This one was much different compared to the last. "Alright this incident happened a couple weeks ago. I can see that they haven't cleaned up the mess yet though…" The place was covered in blood, as if someone deliberately spread it everywhere.
Covering his nose Tanjiro growled. "It smells putrid in here! Why haven't they cleaned up yet?!" I could only shrug with my own frown before beginning the search. This time we stuck together as the smell was messing with Tanjiro's sense of smell. It did not take us long to find yet another summoning circle. It was one that looked nearly the same as the last one we found.
"Guess they didn't bother to hide this one." Kneeling down I compared the one I had to the one drawn in blood. "Hmm almost an exact match, however the points on the star are rounder."
"I think they were really hoping that this one would work so didn't bother with anything else." Agreeing with him I one more drew the new circle into my journal. "Can you see anything else Nii San?" With a quick look I gave a shake of my head before leading the way out. "Where to next?" Looking up I sighed.
"Well we should probably find a place to rest up, it's already around seven." Trying to lighten the mood I smirked as we walked out the now broken door. "And you said that the money I "won" shouldn't be used~." Seeing my influence on my little brother figure Tanjiro punched my shoulder. "Ow…" Rubbing the now forming bruise I kept my smirk. "Guess that means I win then? Just like-"
"Don't do it."
"I won at-"
"I said don't!"
"Gambling~?" His response to my comment was to jump on my back and start choking me. "Kanao was right… I really have corrupted you…" As that was happening I noticed some movement from the corner of my eye. "Hey."
Getting off of me Tanjiro narrowed his gaze. "Yeah, seems as if we have company." As usual we couldn't have even a single peaceful day while at the mission location.
"Grandr!" As a bright light came at us we jumped to the side, not knowing what kind of magic that was but not taking any chances.
Pulling out his sword Tanjiro deflected another spell as more voices spoke out. "He has a mystic code capable of blocking at least low tier magecraft! Focus on him but do not kill!" Using Lyb'Craeft I saw our opponents locations. Getting some interesting invisibility spells, as well as the curse spell they threw at us. Grabbing my blade I rushed in, using the back of my blade to knock out one of them. "Damn! There are two swordsman! Use long range mag-arck!" Deciding that the girl speaking was at least the strategist if not the leader. I teleported over and knocked her out. That's when I learned my third spell for the night. As one of her body-guards, for a lack of a better word, reinforced himself and came at me with some sort of baton.
"Damn you!" Simply leaning back I kicked him in the chest, using a bit more force than I normally would. Sending him into the house we just investigated.
"Whoops…" I didn't mean to break the house.
Seeing this Tanjiro knocked out his own opponent before rounding on me. "Why is it that we can't do anything without you causing some sort of property damage!" As I hit another person over the head I shrugged.
"Come on! It's not like I mean to do this! Besides it's not that bad!" As I said that the entire front side of the house collapsed. "Whelp, at least it wasn't an entire mine this time… or castle…" Even those around us were looking at me as if I were crazy.
"Do you people even care about the secrecy of the moonlit world?!"
At one we looked at the dark haired man. ""What's the moonlit world?"" Further pauses from everyone as the strategist I knocked out slowly got up. She was rubbing her head as she turned to the man.
"I… Ugh… I don't think these two are the ones were looking for master."
The man got out a lighter and cigarette before responding. "You might be right Gray, but we still need to take them in for questioning." Lighting the cigarette he turned to us. "So what do you say? Mind putting the sharp sticks away and coming with us peacefully? If not we'll have to start going harder on you two." Poor man had no idea who he was messing with, unfortunately the opposite was also true.
LET'S DO THE TIME WARP LINE BREAK!
With a grin I cracked my neck. "Sorry no can do good sir~. We have our own mission to finish, and can't get caught up in any third party interests." I specifically left out how we had no idea on what our mission was. In return the man took a long drag before motioning to us.
"Well you heard them, I would feel bad about saying this. But I'm honestly too tired to care. Bazett please take them out, but don't kill them please." Couldn't help but narrow my eyes when he said that.
Does this guy seriously think they can still take us-"WOAH!" Leaning back I dodged a woman's punch to my face.
"You're rather fast." Her voice was calm and professional as she took another swing at me. It was an obvious strike and used my hand to try and knock her hand away. That was a mistake as she feinted and punched me in the shoulder. "Good reflexes but too easy to read." As I was later told my eyes glowed purple as my anger surfaced.
Grabbing her hand I pulled the older woman forward. "Easy huh?" With eyes widening I slashed at her with the back of my blade, for while I didn't want to kill her, that didn't mean I wasn't against some broken bones. As I hit her back I fixed both my shoulder and haori up. The leader's eyes narrowed at my use of magic.
"Interesting magecraft there kid." I didn't bother answering as I faced the Bazett woman, behind me Tanjiro had taken out everyone else and was fighting the Grey haired girl, named Gray. Now that she wasn't surprised the girl was actually putting up a fight. Though my younger brother was going easy on her, not wanting to hurt her too much. He'd come to regret that later. Shaking my head I got into my stance while I observed the now recovered woman. "Careful Bazett something tells me he isn't the usual Magus."
Still had no idea what a Magus was but I kept my stance and Lyb'Craeft up. There was something odd about the woman in front of me, and I wasn't just talking about her physical abilities. She has multiple magic circles on her body, along with that magic strengthening technique. What's more there's a huge concentration of time altering magic centered around her. Gripping my sword I smirked with some sweat on my brow. If I'm not careful she could instantly kill me. Just wish I knew how, but until she uses whatever that time aura is I can't get anything else. Tensing up I dashed forward, deciding to finally take the fight seriously and test the waters. If my speed surprised the magenta haired woman she didn't show it. Instead she strengthened her gloves and punched out at my blade. The two met with a clang, as I pulled back and swung once more.
"Hmm a strong blade." With a clawed hand she then grabbed my sword. "Won't help if it's-" Using flame breathing I lit my blade ablaze, forcing the woman to let go.
"Don't know if you could snap my sword, but I'm not one to take chances like that. Good to know you can't hold onto the flames though." For the first time did she seem annoyed as her eyes narrowed. To the side I could see her leader making an annoyed face. Have to watch that one, not as much magic power as this Bazett. But one doesn't need to have large amounts of power to be dangerous. Looking over to the girl Tanjiro was fighting made me worried. She however! She has even more magical energy than my base self. And whatever is in that birdcage she is carrying… just like with whatever Bazett is holding. It could instantly kill both of us. Blocking a punch I swung. Ni no kata Nobori En Ten! Once more I forced the fist fighter to back off. Deciding to not let her get a chance to breathe I sheathed my sword and dashed forward. Ju no Kata Senko Moyasu!
My speed caught the woman off guard and switching the side I was using mid-swing. Struck her stomach launching her back. Flying back she righted herself before pointing her finger at me. Once more another Grandr curse was fired off at me. I was prepared to knock the spell away, instead I dodged it as the curse fly past me into another building. As you could guess… there was even more property damage.
"BAZETT! Please control yourself! I don't need to pay for even more repairs thank you!" I heard Tanjiro mutter something about someone else understanding his pain. But didn't pay too much attention to him as I leaned back from a kick. A kick that had barely clipped my cheek, cutting it, and then cratering the ground. Rubbing my cheek with some healing magic I didn't let any of my nervousness show. Instead my grin only made her eyes narrow. "Again no sign of magecraft, pretty crafty and talented."
Jumping back I switched stances. "Like I care for your compliments. If I were you, I'd leave us be before we get even close to being serious." I was both bluffing and telling the truth, Tanjiro and I have yet to use our slayer marks, and I myself still have my dimensional surge. That and if needed our crimson blades would definitely incapacitate a bunch of humans. I was sadly mistaken on just how much whom was holding back though.
"Ugh, I see that you two are stubborn enough to give Alexander the Great a run for his money. In that case… GRAY!" Pausing the fight the girl turned to her master. "Release Add a bit and take them out, just again don't kill them."
There was a laugh from within the cage. "HAHA! Finally time to let loose a little! That little magic sword of his will be no match for me now!" As she began to chant I had to block another punch to the face.
"Shouldn't take your eyes off your opponent boy." Now ticked off I pushed her back. Though I was inwardly smiling.
Heh these guys have no idea how our breathing techniques work. No magic needed for that! Jumping back I swung down. Go no kata Enko. As the flame tiger flashed forward the woman brought her fists together, green magic forming around them as she caught the tiger.
"WHAT?!" I couldn't help but smirk as the attack exploded onto her. Her defense was meant to protect against magic, not physical energy.
"Beginning to wonder what I was worried about. These guys are amateurs, and can't think beyond whatever this magecraft magic is." I immediately regretted my words as with speed I hadn't seen outside of the upper-moons. Bazett charged me, her clothes slightly burnt and ruffled as she punched me in the face. Let me tell you… THAT HURT! If it wasn't for my own toughness, as well as always having my shield spell up. That punch of hers would've taken off my head! "UGH! I was wrong…" I could do nothing but admit my fault as I was tossed into the now even more broken house.
"NII SAN?!"
"Should also pay attention." Tanjiro turned around and deflected Gray's scythe to the side. "Oh… you aren't using any magecraft are you?" Tilting his head to the side as I wiped blood from my now repaired nose. Tanjiro let his slowly dwindling innocence show.
"Hai! Umm… what's magecraft?" That really got everyone to pause for a moment before Gray, with unforeseen speed, kicked him towards me. ""Gack!"" He of course collided with me and we were sent further into the house. "Itai… I think we've underestimated them too much."
Rubbing my head and wiping off even more blood I stood up. "Yeah." I then had a thought. "Think that's the lesson Judan wanted for us to learn? Makes about as much sense as anything he does." Tanjiro shrugged before spitting out some blood.
"Maybe, but something tells me that's just a first lesson." With a sigh and a slouch I agreed as we walked out still relatively unharmed. Looking at each other we nodded, both knowing what we needed to do.
Getting ready to fight once more I cracked my neck. "I'll admit you two are a lot stronger than we first thought. However…" With simple flexes our demon slayer marks activated. "We can't waste too much more time on you three." Releasing our now stronger auras we got into our stances. "Sorry but we're ending this!" As we rushed forward the second part of the fight began.
LET'S DO THE TIME WARP LINE BREAK!
Argentum: And that's finally the end of that! Man have I been both lazy and busy.
Slayer: Yeah we all have. But we're back again! And I hope you enjoy the small improvements we've made!~
Waver: And with that you've dragged us into your insanity. As if I didn't already have tons on my plate.
Slayer: Speaking of you, kudos to those that know what franchise you're from! All of you deserve a virtual cookie.
Gray: How can a non-tangible cookie please someone?
Judan: You're adorable.
Gray: Heh?
Argentum: Ignore him. In any case one of the reasons it took me so long was that while I knew what I wanted to do with you all. My issue was trying to represent the danger you people and your stinking conceptual weapons actually posed! Bunch of cheaters the lot of you.
Bazett: I cannot deny that.
Slayer: Didn't really watch any fate shows until this little thing came up. Only saw Unlimited blade works. Now that I've read up on some things, even I have to admit a lot of your stuff is bullcrap!
Judan: Yeah… why do you think I made certain adjustments to different Darkwraiths?
Argentum: Complete bullshit… Well before we all go into a rant. Waver mind sending us off?
Waver: Sure whatever, Ahem… This has been a Dark Guard production now signing off.
Everyone: Goodbye!
Slayer: Seriously I thought I was good at using concepts as a weapon. But fate is ridiculous.
Judan/Argentum: No arguments here.
