AN: Uh, ok so basically I started writing this chapter on the 20th of March… I've been rather lazy but I also have school and work so I'm sorry about the late chapter. Anyway, this chapter is mainly centering on Itachi's resolve, 'The village or the clan..'. And Naruto's way of coping.
-3 Months Later-
Three whole months had passed since Shisui Uchiha's death; to which the clan blamed Itachi for, as they had Shisui watching him.
Speaking of the Uchiha, things have been getting worse and worse for them. The village was ostracizing them due to rumors being spread about the attack 8 years ago and most fingers were pointed towards them.
A certain teen bearing the name Uchiha Itachi was livid about the whole ordeal. While he only wished for peace, the Uchiha seemed to hate it and only wished for glory and power. He was just plain mad, to him it seemed as though any sacrifice, promise, or a dying wish made was simply stomped upon all in the name of one's clan, village, or anything related just for power. But to maintain peace or make it he would gladly do any of those.
'Even if it truly means the eradication of the Uchiha' He thought but was conflicted due to Shisui.
'If I do truly need to...end them,' Itachi started in thought while trying to think of a less morbid way to say it. 'It would keep peace in the village. But at the same time, killing them off would make the other Great Nations jump at the chance to end Konoha, seeing as one of the great clans gone would be a blow to our military…' Thought Itachi with a frown and furrowed brows.
All he was doing these past few months was trying to stop the coup, but it seemed they would rather commit to it faster than he could anticipate.
-With Naruto-
Since Shisui's death, all he had done was train, even going as far as to block the few people who cared about him.
Hiruzen had been extremely worried for the boy as seeing someone you care about die was not an easy thing to go through, not even mentioning killing several people having no prior experience to such death.
Mikoto was oblivious to the whole mood swing as she had not known they were close but wondered why he had stopped coming over. Satsuki had been similar in that aspect but was quite worried for her friend seeing as though he did not show up to the academy for weeks on end.
Itachi on the other hand somehow knew everything was going to work out for the better seeing as he had spent the most time with the boy throughout the time of them meeting to the death of Shisui.
But Naruto's training had not gone to waste.
The first couple of weeks he had skipped the academy to only research the Sharingan and its capabilities. With this knowledge he had started to train using it, even seeking out Itachi even though his time was limited nowadays for reasons he did not know.
Due to his couple of sessions with Itachi paired with shadow clones his knowledge of the Sharingan grew exponentially. In a few months time, he would be able to use it to the full extent. The first two weeks were solely reaction time with activating it on and off in different situations. Yes on and off, even Itachi was confused at the aspect, because normally someone with a transplanted Sharingan who was not an Uchiha could not activate it on and off. Just another mystery planted in the young Uchiha's mind, though he summed it up to being the foxes prowess. Though due to it being able to be activated upon will his Sharingan eye was black in color because of Shisui.
The third week was focused on perception and prediction, using the Sharingan one's perception can be multiplied tenfold, slowing down things so the person can see even at immense speeds and being able to spot things that normally could not be seen even with the keenest of eyes. But with those abilities comes a relatively high handicap, if you could not go fast enough to keep up with the speed of the Sharingan's perception you would essentially watch your death in slow motion depending on what your eyes objective was, that is. But seeing as Naruto's Taijutsu style revolves around high speed, he did not need to worry at the moment with keeping up with his Sharingan.
The fourth week and final week with Itachi was mainly trying to do genjutsu to fix up any weak points Naruto had in the art, seeing as Itachi had finished training him in the Sharingan. Surprisingly it seemed Naruto was a natural at utilizing Sharingan genjutsu, and Itachi thought that in time he could become a master at said art.
After his training with Itachi, he had been able to conquer the Rasengan in a short amount of time and even as far as to form it within an instant due to him being able to see the amount of chakra being put into the technique and how it was flowing.
It then clicked for him, the lightning dragon he was having problems with wasn't shape manipulation, it was chakra output. He previously had tried using more chakra but could not figure out how to properly insert it into the Jutsu without it exploding. It reminded him somewhat of the surface-clinging chakra control exercise, except it was several times harder than that.
But with all those variables solved he was finally able to create a 20-foot dragon that crackled and sparked with lightning, but as soon as he guided the Jutsu to its intended target it diminished, he was confused but was replaced with mild embarrassment because he had fallen on his face due to chakra exhaustion. Just before he fell asleep one last thought appeared in his brain,' Thank you, Shisui'. And he promptly passed out.
The last two months were simply making the lightning dragon viable for battle because he was pretty sure that 25 hand signs were too much time to waste for a Jutsu, so with that grueling task every so often in a month's time he narrowed it down to 6 hand signs.
To him, it seemed speed and precision were everything, if you were not fast enough to perform or do something such as a Jutsu, taijutsu kata, or even throwing a kunai you would die… But even then if you were fast enough, what good would that do if you lacked the precision to perform said tasks.
The same could be said about the experience, if you threw a punch with immense power behind it but lacked the form to expel that power in, the attack would be utterly useless.
'I need to get stronger... Not for my sake, but for the people I care about,' Thought Naruto valiantly. 'It will not happen again! I will not let people close to me die, not like Shisui….'
And with that, the last month was spent training until exhaustion, whilst simultaneously studying fuinjutsu. He had read up on his father's notes to help increase his speed; he had hoped to find something because the "Hiraishin no Jutsu" was simply beyond him at the moment.
'Resistance Seals' He read off in his mind. 'The resistance seal is a seal that can be applied to the users or enemies body via chakra or ink, using said seal can slowly or quickly increase the weight where the seal is applied.' Naruto recited from the scroll.
Naruto was deep in thought about the applications of this Jutsu when an idea popped in his head.
"Could this be an alternative to the lanky training weights I have to wear?" He said out loud.
He quickly copied down the correct calligraphy that correlates to the Resistance Seal and applied it to his arms and legs and torso using chakra.
Naruto activated the first level to the seal and quickly found the difference between the two. While not activated it obviously felt normal, but on the first level, it felt to him like walking in water.
He tested the seals out for a week and quickly realized that with a week's time, it felt normal to walk and run.
He smiled slightly, barely visible but still smiling nonetheless.
-With Itachi, Around Noon-
Itachi was simply strolling through the village reminiscing about everything really.
His days as a genin, spending time with Shisui, joining the Anbu, meeting Naruto, and now he had to make a choice…
This one constant thought always swirling inside his head yet it was always one-sided to him, he knew the choice and he already somewhere in the back of his mind, made it.
'The Clan or the Village…'
To him, the clan was the village and the village was the clan, both could live without the other yet combined they were an almost unstoppable force, is what it seemed like.
Yet the clan didn't see it that way, ever since the Nidaime Hokage's reign, the Uchiha had been slowly isolated due simply to mistrust.
It started with the Police Force, on the outside it was a position worthy of a clan of their caliber, to keep the peace within the village, but on the inside it was used to keep the Uchiha inside the village, to always have an eye on them and their actions…
Several years later the Kyuubi would attack, and due to a couple of witness reports stating they saw a Sharingan-like pattern in the fox's eyes, it led to even more isolation.
Placing the Clan on the village outskirts, away from everyone. It made the Uchiha clan livid, extremely livid.
Even going as far as to start a coup d'etat. To them, it seemed as though a revolt would restore their clan back to its great image from the clan warring era.
'It seems peace is not an option anymore' Thought Itachi bitterly.
'It's not what Shisui wanted but even I am just one man… I'm sorry Shisui but I'm afraid there is nothing left that I can do…' Were his last thought before heading to the Hokage's office
-Hokage's Office-
The old Hokage was sitting in his office signing mass amounts of paperwork, hearing a knock prompted a sigh of relief from him.
"Come in." Stated Hiruzen
In walked Itachi with his weasel mask but Hiruzen could almost feel the dissatisfaction radiating off his body.
"Hokage-sama," Itachi started waiting for further acknowledgment, gaining a nod he continued,"*sigh*I'm afraid there is nothing more we can do."
Hiruzen just sighed sadly.
"I truly wish it didn't have to come to this, but the safety of the village always comes first." said the Sandaime Hokage.
"There is no convincing them anymore. That belief died the moment Shisui did…" Itachi said remorsefully
With that notion, Hiruzen gave a stiff nod and gained a serious face but before he could say anything Itachi spoke up.
"Hokage-sama, I know what you're going to ask and I will agree on one condition." Itachi said seriously, Hiruzen nodded curtly.
"I want to spare my younger sister and my mother." He clarified.
Hiruzen nodded, "Very well, Uchiha Itachi, are you prepared to take your final mission for Konohagakure." He said seriously, gaining a curt nod he continued.
"You are to continue gaining knowledge on the coup and a week before they are to strike, you are to eliminate them." He stated coldly but you could hear sorrow leaking out of his voice.
Itachi nodded stiffly. "Hai Hokage-sama"
"This is an SS-rank mission, you will likely have to become a missing-nin, I hereby commence Operation Ghost." Hiruzen Informed.
Itachi managed to hold in a flinch, an SS-rank mission was a suicide mission at the top of everything and any knowledge on it would die with the people who knew of it. To top it off he would have to leave the village and never come back unless he was willing to die…
"I understand and accept." was all he said before bowing.
"Dismissed." Command Hiruzen.
Itachi got up and vanished from the area.
Hiruzen let out a sad sigh.'To think it had to come to that, I'm sorry Hashirama-sama it seems that the peace you longed for with the Uchiha clan is gone..' He thought sadly.
-1 Month Later-
Naruto was annoyed, something he found quite frequent these days.
He had slowly gotten over Shisui's death and the trauma of killing several Root ANBU. For some reason, it still sat in the back of his mind, and even with the masks, he could just picture the lifeless faces of the dead ANBU.
To take his mind off of things like that he trained, and trained, and trained. For most of the four months after Shisui's death, the only thing you found him doing was training. For him, training was a way to let loose all your pent-up emotions and keep your mind off of trivial things.
After finally feeling free from everything that happened he had finally made the decision to go back to the academy.
And now here we find a slightly nervous Naruto.
It was around 11 o'clock am he was rather late for class but seeing as though he missed four months it was not like they expected him to show up anyway.
Walking through the sliding door he peeked his head in, the looks of bewilderment on each and every one of their faces was priceless.
With that, he lazily strolled into his spot, next to Satsuki and sat down.
Feeling rather tired he put his head down and slept.
It was almost comical at the number of tick marks appearing on everyone's head after he put his head down.
Satsuki just looked at him blankly before raising her hand and whacking him on the back of his head.
Naruto was kind of expecting something of that sort but still fell out of his seat.
"Ouch, don't you think you could hit a little softer?" Naruto questioned, before looking at the room.
"Uh, why are you all giving me those looks?" He asked shakily
Satsuki now slightly fuming looked at him in the mismatched eyes,' Wait mismatched eyes?' She thought but quickly shook it off.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE PAST FOUR MONTHS! YOU JUST UP AND DISAPPEAR WITHOUT A TRACE FOR THAT LONG AND WALK IN THE ROOM ONE DAY WITHOUT A CARE!" She shouted.
Naruto just scratched his head with a sheepish grin, "Well I was doing… things?" He said, although cringed at the angry expression on her face.
Satsuki was about to yell again before noticing a sad look in his eye when he said 'things' so she just huffed and decided to ask later. She then looked intently at his face making him recoil slightly.
"Why is there a scar on your eye, and why is your eye color different than before?" She questioned, although to him it was like a mini interrogation.
Naruto shuffled uncomfortably in his seat, recalling all the circumstances from before that gave him his eye. He subconsciously pressed his fingers over his eyelid.
"I…. Don't wish to speak on it…" He stated nervously after a couple of seconds.
She merely sighed and gave him a questioning look before dropping it completely.
To Naruto, the rest of the day just sped by with ease. He went home that night and for some reason felt completely content compared to other nights and he went to sleep with a small smile.
-2 Months Later-
Itachi was scared, no scratch that he was terrified. In just two weeks time, the Uchiha would commit a sin beyond redemption and he would retaliate tenfold and bear the burden himself.
He had been distancing himself from everyone since being given the order. People didn't necessarily notice due to his normal antisocial attitude, so it made it easier for him to cope with his decision.
Shaking out of his thoughts he glanced at the sky. 'Shisui, if only you had been able to complete your task, I wouldn't have to dishonor you, the Clan, and even myself. If I don't do this though, the other villages could see a weakness within the village ranging from the coup and the Nine-Tails attack. That alone could spark the Fourth Great War.' Itachi thought, everything weighing heavily on his mind.
-1 Week Before the Coup D'etat-
Itachi was sent on a mission with a team of Anbu to spy on the Naka Shrine to find more intel regarding the coup.
Fugaku had demanded Itachi to come to the meeting he was currently spying on, via crow. And Itachi denied stating that he had an important mission leading the both of them into a heated argument.
Itachi ended up doing something that he knew he would regret, in his little spur of anger during the argument he had flared his chakra and accidentally activated his Mangekyou.
Fugaku had furious at the development and had berated him harshly for not telling him, saying that with their eyes Konoha would fall before the Uchiha.
Itachi merely scoffed at the notion and glared fiercely at his father whilst letting loose a small burst of KI, before saying that his arrogance with the Sharingan would be the end of him, and promptly walked out of the room.
Itachi hadn't bothered to turn around to see the reaction of his father but if he did he would've seen another blazing Mangekyou Sharingan glaring at him.
Snapping out his thoughts, Itachi looked back at the entrance of the Naka Shrine, seeing several satisfied faces of content from his clan members.
After seeing them get out of sight he called his crow back…
-Crow POV, Flashback-
The crow had just left Itachi's hand and flew into a narrow passage from the top of the shrine, leading into the ceiling of the building with a clear view of the meeting.
The crow listened in to the conversation, "The Uchiha have time and time again been subjected to the disinterests of the village, And I for one WILL NOT STAND FOR IT," Fugaku shouted in fury getting shouts of approval from his fellow clansmen.
"The village has belittled us simply from biased rumors, the Sandaime Hokage has done nothing but appeases them and the Clan has been moved to the outskirts of the village…" He continued, clenching his fists in anger.
"I will not continue to support a village if it does not do the same." Getting several nods of agreement and he started to tell the plan to his clansmen, a furious look in the crow's eyes and a wide girth of approval from his clansmen.
-WIth Itachi-
He had just received the info from his crow and was extremely livid. He had to report to the Hokage immediately.
He signaled his Anbu squad and they disappeared into the dark, not noticing a figure with long spiky black hair and an orange mask with tiger-like stripes on it and a single hole in it.
'You really are growing nicely, Itachi' they thought with a sinister smile.
-Hokage's Office-
Itachi had told his squad to leave them alone, they had of course done so albeit reluctantly.
"I have come with grave news regarding the clan, Hokage-sama." Itachi stated grimly.
"Continue." The Hokage replied
"It seems they are not simply going for the power of the village, they are calling it Operation Genesis." Itachi said with narrowed eyes.
The Hokages eyes widened at the name, "Explain." He stated calmly although you could see extreme nervousness pouring out of his eyes.
"They have found out the close relationship to my mother and...Naruto, their plan is to use it and gain control of the Nine-Tails. Which at first thought made no sense and was foolish, but then my father re-assured them by revealing a... Mangekyou Sharingan," He whispered with a slightly terrified look in his eyes. "It was revealed how by destroying the village they would rebuild it from the ashes of the current village, with Fugaku as Hokage….." Itachi informed.
Hiruzen was infuriated at the initiative of them using the Nine-Tails in Naruto, at attempting to destroy the village at everything about the Uchiha.
"Very well your mission remains, we need to find a safe spot for Naruto to keep him out of the hands of the Uchiha." stated Hiruzen
Itachi nodded.
'There is a place west of the village, a safe house made from the Yondaime in case of emergency, I will also send a trusted Anbu with him.' thought Hiruzen
Itachi again settled for a nod, "What about my mother and sister?" Itachi asked
Hiruzen thought about it for a second, "Well it's going to be quite difficult to get your mother out of the village due to her being off active duty, as for your sister well I'm sure you can decide what to do with her…"
Itachi thought about all the places or things he could have his mother and sister do.
'There's not much I can even consider, maybe I could send Satsuki with Naruto… But what of my mother… She wants nothing to do with the Uchiha Coup but if I tell her the truth…' A single tear rolled down his cheek behind his mask.
"Satsuki will stay with Naruto, I'm still unsure about my mother but if we cannot find something, I just don't want her to have to die from something she didn't want to be a part of in the first place…" Itachi said sadly
Hiruzen gave him a small nod with a grim look.
"Is there anything else Weasel?" asked Hiruzen.
Getting a shake of the head in return, "Very well, dismissed."
Itachi simply shunshin'd out.
'Another prodigy with limitless potential being sacrificed for the misgivings of our ancestors.' Hiruzen thought regretfully.
-7 Days Later, 12 Hours Before Itachi's Mission-
12 Hours… Itachi was terrified, no there was no word to describe his emotions right now, his heart was pounding, his head was throbbing, he felt as though he would pass out any second.
Yet as soon as he came upon a familiar set of faces it all vanished.
He had gone to the training ground to meditate so he could calm down but he instead found Naruto helping out Satsuki with shurikenjutsu.
'Interesting,' He mused, he had thought they would still be in the academy.
He continued to watch them for a bit until he saw Naruto setting up targets, six in the open and two in a blind spot. 'That's similar to how I train, let's see how much you have grown Naruto-kun.' Itachi thought with a smile.
He then saw Naruto jump in the air with eight kunai four in each hand, Naruto then maneuvered his body and started falling upside down throwing three kunai from each hand, then throwing the last two deflecting another two, Itachi gained a smile, Naruto had hit each target.
Though when he landed, Shisui's Sharingan was activated although his back was turned so that Satsuki couldn't see, he quickly deactivated it and turned around to look at Satsuki; whose mouth was gaping in shock.
"What?" Naruto rhetorically asked, with a smirk.
"Y-you…How?" She stuttered out.
"Hmm, training?" He said
She in turn dropped her shocked look and gained an annoyed one before wracking him across the head mumbling something about 'blonde smartasses'.
Naruto just laughed and rubbed the back of his head before abruptly snapping it towards the trees and staring intently with his Sharingan, but quickly relaxed upon seeing the familiar chakra signature.
"I was wondering when you would find me." A voice called towards Naruto
Satsuki turned and saw her big brother, "Nii-san!" She shouted and went for a hug only to be poked by those two infamous fingers in the forehead.
She nursed her forehead slightly before glaring at her older brother who was lips were tugging into the smallest of smirks.
Naruto just gave a slight wave with a smile. Itachi just took this as his cue to explain what needed to happen that night.
"Satsuki-chan, tonight I need you to stay with Naruto." He stated out of the blue.
Satsuki went wide-eyed and started stuttering, "Y-you w-want me to WHAT!" She half shouted. Naruto was confused as well.
Itachi face-palmed, "Not like that, just train at his house or something, Sandaime-sama had something he wanted to speak with you about." He said hoping they would buy it.
Naruto narrowed his eyes but nodded nonetheless, he suspected that there was an ulterior motive behind all of this but did not question it.
Satsuki just dumbly nodded.
Itachi was glad he didn't have to explain anything else, he did not want either of them present when he was completing his mission.
-10 Hours Later-
Naruto had been patiently waiting for the old man to show up and so far nothing had happened. 'Just what did you hope to ultimately achieve with this Itachi…' He thought while looking at the lone figure sleeping in his bed.
He waited another 2 hours and was getting increasingly frustrated, he finally blew a gasket and made a shadow clone to watch over Satsuki.
He got dressed in a pair of black Anbu pants, a black long-sleeved shirt, and a black face mask that covered his nose and neck. Grabbing his chokuto and strapping it to his back with a lone kunai pouch on his right thigh he put on a pair of black sandals and headed towards the Uchiha clan compound.
-With Itachi 30 Minutes Earlier-
'I guess it's time.' He thought while looking down from a vantage point. He shunshind down from there and started his mission.
He came across a group of Uchiha chunin talking and drinking, he pulled out his sword and quickly ended them without hesitation, he sliced the first guys throat open, stabbed through the second guy's heart, and as the third got ready to retaliate he activated his Sharingan and put him in a genjutsu putting him to sleep and killed him.
This bloody mess of a massacre continued throughout the entire compound until he came across his house.
He walked inside on guard, he was looking for his parents.
He walked through the house and found a sight that would make most people vomit their guts out.
The dead mangled corpse of Fugaku Uchiha, his eyes were missing as was an arm and half a leg. Itachi went wide-eyed and frantically searched around the house and found his mom about to get struck down by a masked man with long spiky black hair.
He rushed towards the man and swiped through him only for his blade to pass straight through him.
"That wasn't very kind, Itachi." Stated a deep yet wise voice that sounded like he was mocking him.
"What the hell are you doing!" Itachi shouted.
"Me? I was merely doing what you sought out to do in the first place." The voice stated, whilst turning around.
Itachi saw a single hole in the orange tiger patterned mask and what he saw made his breath hitch, a Sharingan yet this one was different, it looked like a three-pronged shuriken with the end of each tip swirling into each other, a Mangekyou Sharingan, Itachi activated his own Mangekyou and stared right into the eye of this other Uchiha.
"How did you even know what was happening! This was a secret known only to the Hokage and I!" Itachi demanded.
"Secret? You could say I was doing this on a whim, after all this clan did betray me…." The masked Uchiha said, although his voice sounded like he was talking to a child.
Itachi thought about everything this man said so far and was narrowing down all the possible variables and thought about who could have been betrayed by the clan, nothing came though as the Uchiha rarely exiled or got rid of their members, all but one person, "Madara Uchiha." Itachi whispered, backing up slightly.
"Hmmm I wonder about that-" Was all he said before a blonde-haired boy barged into the room with a frantic, terrified look in his eyes.
-With Naruto, 15 Minutes Earlier-
Naruto had just left his apartment and shunshind towards the Uchiha compound in short bursts in search of Itachi.
When he arrived he expected to find the Uchiha to be walking around talking and interacting with one another.
What he found was bodies upon dead bodies. People missing limbs, lifeless eyes staring into his soul. He was truly horrified.
He started sprinting towards Itachi's house hoping he was alive.
He arrived to find the mangled corpse of who he could assume was Itachi's father, via pictures. He was sprinting through the house in wrangled breaths hoping to find Itachi.
Naruto then heard a voice speaking, "-ou could say I was doing this on a whim, after all this clan did betray me…" Naruto did not recognize that deep calm voice, but he did recognize the second one and the name he heard made him freeze and even the fox to open his eyes, "Madara Uchiha." He heard Itachi say.
Naruto then foolishly ran in without any plan at all just hoping to keep Itachi safe; even though the latter was far stronger than he.
-Present-
Itachi saw the blonde and his eyes went so wide one might think his Sharingan would fall out.
"Naruto! What the hell are you doing here!" Itachi shouted his eyes never leaving 'Madara Uchiha'
'Madara' Turned his head slightly to see a small boy around eight dressed in all black with a sword strapped to his back, he felt a presence inside the boy that he had not felt in 8 years, his eyes widened behind the mask, 'So that fool really sealed the fox into his own son, how pitiful.' He thought.
The masked man quickly darted towards the boy and a tanto materialized into his hand. He got behind Naruto and poised the tanto behind him just below his heart.
Meanwhile, Naruto was in his own train of thought, 'Fast, I can't even keep up with his movements with my Sharingan activated, Kurama is this-' He was cut off by a massive roar and a blast of killing intent that would make even the Hokage pale.
"THAT BLASTED UCHIHA, HE WAS THE ONE WHO FORCED ME TO ATTACK YOUR PATHETIC VILLAGE 8 YEARS AGO." Kurama said, snarling.
Naruto's eyes widened but then were filled with rage, his Sharingan was already activated, he reached for his sword only to feel a hand grab his and point the tanto closer to his body.
"You care for this boy, yes?" questioned 'Madara'
Itachi widened his eyes and tried to move only to hear a dark chuckle emerge from the masked Uchiha. "Move and the boy dies, yet don't move and it'll happen either way." He taunted.
Itachi clenched his fist in anger, though unknowingly he sent chakra to his right eye and a word came out of his mouth almost instinctively, "Amaterasu" He whispered and a pool of black flames pooled around the masked Uchiha making him cry out in agony and fall into the shadows.
Itachi finished his attack, he felt drained but then an unimaginable pain bore into his right eye, he gripped it tightly hoping to ease it.
Itachi regained his bearings and went towards Naruto only to find a pool of blood forming around him, his eyes widened in shock as he saw a lone tanto sticking out of Naruto's stomach.
He placed his hands on the boy's stomach and they started to glow a green essence, they stopped the bleeding only to a degree but Naruto was already unconscious and he begrudgingly left him and went to report to the Hokage, not noticing his Mother had awoken and seen it all.
-Outskirts of the Village-
Itachi was racing towards the rendezvous to which the Hokage had stated. He arrived and found the Hokage and an Anbu guard, who he quickly recognized as his old squad.
"My mission is complete, Hokage-sama." Itachi informed, but you could hear the hollow tone in his voice.
"I'm truly sorry it had to come to this, tell me the details." Hiruzen requested
Itachi had told him everything, about killing them, finding his father dead and mother about to be killed by this 'Madara Uchiha' and Naruto. By then the Hokage was extremely wary, a man claiming to be Madara and having the power and information to back it up was scary.
The old Hokage had nothing to say after it.
"I might have found a group that is willing to give me refuge, they call themselves Akatsuki, they are a mercenary group composed of S-Rank missing nins, the only reason I know of them is due to one of my missions, Sasori of the Red Sands was his name, their goal is unknown but I wish to keep an eye on them." Itachi requested.
The Hokage gave a nod, "We will put you in the Bingo Book as an S-Rank Missing Nin tomorrow so that the hunter nin will not have time to find you. Once again I am truly sorry about this Itachi." Hiruzen said regretfully.
"It is not you who should be apologizing, but the clan whose delusions took them to their demise…" Itachi said.
"I will keep in contact, farewell, Sandaime-sama." Itachi said before leaving in a murder of crows.
A single tear rolled down the old kages face. 'It seems we cannot keep the dreams of our predecessors.'
AN: Ok so about this taking so long, my bad. The save was literally shit on and I had to rewrite like ¾ of the chapter and I got really unmotivated, as well as having long shifts, but other than that pretty good right? No okay, whatever… But anyway that was the massacre, Satsuki was asleep so she didn't get to experience the horrors of the mutilated bodies of her clansmen like Sasuke did in cannon. As well as 'Madara Uchiha' making an appearance. Itachi did not ask for help from him this time around as he did not know 'Madara' was there. Mikoto lives, Fugaku dies. Akatsuki… Uh, Itachi is rather weary around the group and does not know that Madara actually leads them but wants to keep an eye on them.
Thanks for reading, feel free to follow, maybe leave a review as well, find any mistakes I make. Thanks!
