"That's all. Any questions?" Elsa asked. The afternoon sun suddenly seemed a little too bright as she looked around. A sudden headache pierced through her skull and she quickly suppressed a cry of pain.
Thank goodness there are no questions! I don't know if I could have sat there any longer... my head is-.
Stop, Elsa. You're just overreacting to the light. You know you'll be FINE
She told herself as she swept out of the room quickly into the courtyard for a small break between meetings. She wandered off in a daydream. "Queen Elsa!" a servant called, making her head throb. "Your next council meeting is on now!" his voice was too loud even though he was all the way across the courtyard. She winced in pain.
They really need to be quieter. It only makes my headache worse.
She thought.
She stood up and walked to the hall, where some villagers performed an entertaining play.
After the meeting, her eyes were leaden with exhaustion and her chest burned with every breath.
Only one more meeting with Kristoff and some papers then it's done. You can go to bed earlier and be all right in the morning.
She told herself as she strolled out of the castle.
It's going to be fine and then after you can get some rest plus you're not sick just a little tired...
A small breeze blew. Usually it would be fine as she never even felt cold but this breeze was freezing. As she shivered and pulled her cloak tighter, a wave of heat washed through her body along with a sudden bout of dizziness, all enhancing the pounding headache. She quickly grabbed on to a nearby pillar to stabilise herself, clutching at her head under the disguise of fixing her crown.
Come on, Elsa. You can do this.
She told herself.
Gathering all the dignity she could muster, she made her way up the north mountain slowly. Sometimes she was freezing cold, sometimes scorching hot with sudden surges of dizziness. By the time she had arrived at Kristoff's hut, she was both physically and mentally exhausted. Her body ached with the most minimal movements. "Kristoff?" she mumured, knocking on the door of the hut.
"Come in" came the muffled response. She pushed open the door. Kristoff turned around and the relaxed expression on his face turned into a panicked look and paper became airborne. "Oh my goodness! It's the queen? I'm so so sorry! LikeIwasexpectingyoutocomelaterandIwassonotpreparedIdon'thavemypapersreadyand..." he stopped, took a deep breath and calmed down a little. "Oh by the way, are you alright? You look a little pale to me."
"It's okay, Kristoff. I'll wait here while you get your papers." Elsa soothed. His expression relaxed a little as he delved into the various mountains of paperwork, letters and more. "Oh, and I'm fine but thanks for asking" she managed to squeeze out, using her last energy to make it sound light and normal.
Oh no no no no no. I can't just lose my voice! And now?
"How's Anna?" he asked casually but Elsa didn't hear. All the noises had melted into one another and nothing made sense. Her vision blurring, she took a step forward and the rest felt like slow motion. Her knee buckled, sending her to the floor as both her mind and body gave up. She was falling, falling...
