Alert sirens roared across the token fleet provided to assist in evacuation and provide support to the forces on the ground. Though the men and women aboard one such cruiser at the center of it all, had precious little information on what exactly they were meant to be fighting. The intelligence briefing told them there would be more creatures like that one that appeared on the beach little over a week ago.

But nothing could have prepared them for what came from beneath the surface.

As a massive, pale skinned kraken emerged from the depths. Its long tendrils wrapped around a smaller ship, threatening to start sinking it. Orders were given in an instant, firing lines clear, as the center cruiser turned its guns and unloaded the first salvo. Cannon's roaring, shells exploding against Gesomon's exposed flank, causing the creature to howl in anger.

"Reload and fire again!" The captain commanded from the bridge, "Bring us around, we've got to get that thing off the Marigold!"

"We've got movement beneath us!" An officer on deck shouted.

Before something erupted from the water beside their cruiser, a great serpent with blue scales and a golden face. Arching itself over the ship, releasing a terrifying shriek and a hailstorm of icy winds. Freezing over their cannons in an instant.

"Open fire on that snake NOW!"

"Artillery has been disabled sir!" Another shouted, "Their completely frozen over, we can't fire!"

"Then all hands brace," He ordered over the intercoms, "We're getting out of here!" His hand grabbing the lever to put the ships engines into overdrive.

But before he could push it, the windows of the bridge were blown open with a splash of high pressure water. The men and women present diving for cover or trying to protect one another. Just outside the window, was a Coelamon staring in at them. One of the soldiers present on the bridge drew his weapon, aiming the rifle directly at the marine digimon and opening fire.

But his bullets bounced harmlessly off its hardened shell. The creature turning its eyes to him with a wicked sneer, "How pathetic!" He began to open his maw, charging another watery bullet. "Gah!" Before a silver blade pierced the back of his skull, sticking out through his mouth.

"What the hell!?" The captain exclaimed, watching the monsters body breaking away into particles of light. And in its place was a winged women, wielding a staff and sword. "But... Who-" He'd been warned about some unconvential allies on the ground, but this was ridiculous!

"Pull away from the emergence areas," Darcmon ordered, "It isn't safe here, provide what long range support you can." She added, before taking off and turning her attention to the deck of the ship where a group of men were trading fire with three more Coelamon. Their bullets completely ineffective against the champion level digimon, she narrowed her eyes. "Enough!"

Angling herself into a steep nose dive, she pulled up after gaining speed and flew across the deck with her blade in hand. Slashing through the maws of two more Coelamon, unable to reach the third in time before it could open fire so she instead changed course. Putting herself between the fish and its targets, raising her staff and erecting a barrier of light that easily absorbed the oncoming water blasts.

The moment it ended, she leveled her staff at the creature, it sparked with electricity before sending a bolt directly into the fish digimon. The creature howling in pain as it's body was destroyed. The soldiers cowering behind her watched in awe, one of them finding his tongue to offer her a hesitant, "Th-Thanks lady..."

But she couldn't respond, not before the Seadramon looming overhead released another mighty shriek. Opening its maw wider, inhaling to release another burst of frigid winds and freeze over the entire deck! It's attack was interrupted however, as a wave of small disc shaped devices struck it from behind, before exploding in spectacular fashion.

"Over here you oversize sea snake!" Thomas called out through Mekanorimon's speakers, causing Seadramon to turn towards them as they hovered in the air using the machine Digimon's thrusters. "Smile for the camera!" Seadramon lunged for them, maw opened intent to crush them in his jaws. Before the lenses on Mekanorimon's chest lit up, firing off a massive beam of light right down its gullet, the beams piercing out the back of Seadramon's head and neck.

Darcmon breathed out a sigh of relief, flying up to meet him. "Nice work." Before looking to the massive Gesomon fighting to pull down the other ship, "We aren't done though!"

"Lets go!" Mekanorimon nodded, putting all power to the thrusters and flying towards the beast. "Aim for the tentacles!" He shouted.

Thomas adding, "We'll get his attention!" The silos on Mekanorimon's shoulders opening, releasing another salvo of those disc shaped bombs. They exploded against Gesomon's backside making the creature lurch forward in pain. While Darcmon flew in low at high speed, slashing her blade across the monsters tentacles, cutting deep and forcing it to release the ship.

It turned swiftly, retaliating with a monstrous rage. One of its massive tentacles slamming into Mekanorimon, making Thomas nearly fall from his seat in the cockpit. "Hang on!" The machine digimon putting more powers to the thrusts to force themselves to level out before they could hit the waters. "You okay Thomas?"

The boy shook off the impact, rubbing his head. "Yeah, but I think this big freak is due for a receipt don't you?"

"Way ahead of you!" He nodded, starting to send all power towards the main cannon. "You ready Darcmon!?"

As Gesomon loomed over them, tentacles spreading wide and getting ready to crush the machine digimon, the shadow of an angel appeared above. "I'll set him up." Raising her blade, she came down upon Gesomon with all her might, driving her blade into the top of his head. Before raising her staff high into the air, causing it spark with electricity. "With Lightning La Pucelle!"

A bolt of lightning coursing through her body, channeling into the blade and right into Gesomon's body. Causing the massive kraken Digimon to writhe and shriek in pain, and while its maw was opened wide. "And we'll knock'em down!" Thomas hit the big red button, firing off Mekanorimon's full power twin beams, they bored right through Gesomon's body and out the other side, destroying him in an instant.

As he disappeared, all was quiet aside from the roaring of boat engines pulling away from the coast. Taking Darcmon's warning and trying to pull back to a safe distance for providing fire support. But as they pulled away there was another sound that began to echo across the bay, cheers ringing out from the men and women aboard the ships that had been saved.

"Yeah I guess that was pretty awesome." Thomas grinned, soaking in the praise.

"No time to celebrate," Darcmon pointed down into the depths, as more flashes of light lit up the ocean floor. "We aren't done yet."

Shadows in the water, they were racing towards the beach, attempting to make landfall. "Come on!" Mekanorimon engaged his thrusts and started flying towards the beach. "We can't let these things get into the city!"

. . .

From the coast, where boardwalk met beach, Cody and Kai stood beside their partners. Watching as Gesomon was destroyed, in a brilliant display of power, followed by the resounding cheers from the naval forces.

"Look at those two out there," Cody scoffed, "Bunch of show offs."

"Must be nice being able to fly," Kotemon chimed in. "I feel so useless here."

Before flashes of light flickered beneath the waves, shadowy figures moving towards the shallows. "Don't count us out just yet." Kai replied simply, pulling his Digivice. "Are you ready for this Kotemon?"

The small warrior digimon nodded, "These Digimon are here to do nothing but hurt others, I won't hold anything back!" Despite his reservations, he'd set aside his morals for the greater good for now.

Cody and Shamanmon both nodding, saying in unison. "Hell Yeah!"

Digivolution

"Shamanmon Digivolve to!"

"Kotemon Digivolve to!"

Both Digimon enveloped in a flash of light, their bodies growing rapidly as the shadows began to emerge at the waters edge!

"Apemon!"

"Yasyamon!"

"HRAAAAGH!" A thunderous roar sounding, as a massive Ebidramon emerged from the waters. Flanked by two shell covered digimon that looked like enormous trilobites. Though they were lined with razor-sharp blades and long claws. They immediately tried to spread out in different directions, aiming to get into the city and cause as much chaos as possible.

A gust of wind whipped across the sands as Yasyamon and Apemon went on the attack. The sword wielding warriors dashing straight in, while Apemon jumped high into the air. "Furious Spike!" He roared, unleashing a hailstorm of piercing quills.

They covered Yasyamon's charge, and simultaneously prevented the digimon from advancing out of fear of being turned into pin cushions. Giving Yasyamon time to close the distance and bury his blades into the head of one Anomalocarimon. "Twin Strike!" Destroying one, before the second charged slashing at Yasyamon with its bladed body, forcing him to backpedal across the sands.

While the Ebidramon charged at Apemon the moment he landed. Swinging its massive claws to try and slam down the big yellow monkey digimon. Apemon caught one of them, snarling as he struggled against the monsters strength, before turning and throwing the giant lobster over his shoulder slamming it into the sands. And while its softer underbelly was exposed, he went for the finishing blow by cocking back one fist, wreathed in blue flames, "Magical Monkey FIST!"

Driving it deep into Ebidramon's body, causing it to be destroyed in an instant. Just as Yasyamon sliced away the massive trilobites arms, and delivered a lethal finishing blow to the center of its body.

"Hey!" Called a voice from above, both Digimon and their partners looking up to see Mekanorimon and Darcmon descending. "Looks like you've handled the next wave." Mekanorimon stated, thruster powering down as it touched the sands.

"These guys aren't so tough," Apemon grunted, punching his fists together. "Bring on some more!"

Yasyamon shook his head, "No, constant fighting will drain our strength, we need to pace ourselves as best we can."

"Damn you guys got here fast!" Sounded Samantha's voice, as she ran down the beach to join them. "Glad to see things are going well, maybe a little too well huh?"

Before a loud buzzing came from Thomas' device, "Huh?" Pulling it out, he blinked in surprise. "The CSGO is calling me?" He answered it quickly, "Hello?"

"Something big is coming!" Arthur sounded from the other side.

"What?" Thomas questioned, looking out over the waters, his body stiffening as he saw the clouds starting to swirl overhead. Slowly but surely, they were gathering en masse and the waters were starting to turn turbulent.

"We've got a massive spike in energy, its not the full breach but you guys clearly pissed off someone on the other si-zzzt!"

"What the- Arthur? Grayson are you there!?" Thomas shook his device, "The signal is being blocked, guys we've got incoming and its a big one!"

A beam of light erupted from the depths, piercing the water and up into the heavens. It lasted only a few seconds, but as it faded away, a dark shadow dwarfing all they'd seen before it began to emerge from the deep waters.

"Oh you've gotta be kidding me." Cody muttered.

The sky above going dark, lightning crackled and rain began to fall. The waters began to part as it neared the shallows, and a digimon larger than anything they'd ever seen before began to rise.

First came its large rounded head, tattooed with some kind of blood red symbol on its pale blue skin. Its face was a gaping maw of teeth with tendrils and tentacles hanging from the edges. It stood up on two legs, though they were made of tentacles massing together, its long arms dragging in the waters as well. The right one a single massive tentacle, while the left was a number of smaller tentacles bound together. In its right limb, it held a massive obsidian trident, the large tentacle coiling around its length. And on its back were two large misshapen fin-like wings.

"Wh-What is that thing!?" Kai exclaimed, stepping back as its shadow loomed over them.

Even Darcmon found herself fearing the monstrosity staring down at them, "This pressure is- I-It has to be an ultimate, possibly even mega level..."

"You have committed crimes against the future ruler of this world," Its voice was a deep, guttural rumble that made the very ground vibrate. "Kneel before Dragomon, Lord of the Deep... Beg for forgiveness, and perhaps I'll allow you a swift death."

"Not gonna happen!" Cody retaining his defiant spirit, "I got your swift death right here bastard!" Giving the middle finger to the massive digimon.

"We won't let you hurt anyone!" Kai added upon shaking his initial shock.

"This world is under our protection," Yasyamon chimed in, "Return to the Digital World at and cease these hostilities!"

"Mmm, you will resist, fools will always resist." Dragomon rumbled, "But you've slain my servants, easily replaceable but a transgression none the less, one that demands tribute." He raised his trident slowly, "Now you must pay that tribute, in blood."

A thunderous lightning crack ignited the sky, and in that moment twin funnels of raging water erupted around Dragomon. Coiling together and building force before racing towards the humans and their digimon. Darcmon grabbed Samantha and moved, Apemon snatching up Kai and Cody before jumping clear as well, while Mekanorimon ignited his thruster and flew clear of the attack and Yasyamon evaded to the left.

But it was then they realized, as it raced across the beach and curved upward.

That it was never meant for them.

The high pressure water blasts smashed into the boardwalk, and its surrounding buildings. Ripping them apart, toppling the Ferris wheel and reducing the small shops around to rubble in a matter of seconds. The children watching in horror, the stakes of their battle suddenly becoming much more apparent to them. Only imagining what that kind of attack would do it if hit a person.

"See true power," Dragomon rumbled, his massive feet making landfall as he stepped out of the waters. "See what you have pretended to understand, and drown in your own despair."

Darcmon landed a few streets away, setting down Samantha before drawing her blade once more. "I'm going, get somewhere safe."

Samatha watching her turn to fly off, before quickly responding. "Don't do anything crazy out there, we're in this together remember?"

Darcmon looked back at her once, before simply nodding with a faint smile. "I'll be alright."

Samantha watched her go, feeling so helpless as her partner went to take up the defense. One hand idly resting over her chest as she gripped her shirt. Knowing full well, that this would be the toughest fight of their partner's lives.

. . .

In the hospital room, Madison sat in her bed with Tsukaimon as the TV played the live news coverage of everything happening down at the coast. Her brother sitting nearby as well, none able to take their eyes from the screen as they watched the massive Digimon make landfall. His rumbling voice reaching the camera's, his words spreading to the whole world before his attack ripped through the boardwalk.

"It's been less than thirty minutes since more of the strange sea monsters began to appear!" The reporter said as their chopper skirted the edge of the battlefield. "We have seen a number of different monsters appear and confront these sea creatures, but we are unclear who they are or if they are here to help us... But after hearing what that massive monster just said," She hesitated for a moment, "I think I know who I'm putting my hopes on."

Tsukaimon watched with her ears down, "They... They can't beat him."

"What?" Madison blinked, looking down at her. "Tsu don't say that, we need to have faith in them t-"

Her words were cut off as the screen flashes, bolts of lightning from Darcmon striking the greater Digimon. While lasers and explosions erupted from Mekanorimon, burning the massive Digimon's body but doing little more than scuffing his surface. While he continued to walk inland, the ocean seeming to rise with him, water flowing through the streets and flooding the area surrounding the beach.

She didn't want to admit her doubts, but even Madison was unsure. "I want to believe they can win but..."

"Look at that monster," Mark scoffed, crossing his arms. "Its like... A force of nature."

"Maddie..." Tsu looked up to her partner, holding a nervous but determined fire in her eyes. "I... I want to help them!"

Causing her to blink, "Help them? How-" Realizing what she was implying, "No, no way," She shook her head, "I won't make you do that-"

"I'm not asking you to make me!" She argued, jumping out of her arms. "Please, I... I don't want everyone to get hurt because I'm scared!" Tsukaimon shook her head, "I... It's never been my choice to digivolve... Someone is always..." She trailed off grimly, before locking eyes with her partner. "B-But this time I want to be the one who chooses what I do with my power!"

Madison understood her feelings, but even so- "Tsu... If you can't control it..." Then they'd have two monsters to deal with.

But she was ready to face those doubts, "Then I'll aim it."

Madison was taken back by her partners determination, unsure if it could work but... They didn't have many options. "Mark, think you can give us a ride?"
