It was supposed to be the end of him when that angel blade slammed into his stomach. He tried abandoning his vessel, leaving a good portion of his power to make his death more real...and ended up blinking above the clouds in confusion while riding a modified Harley Davidson.

'What in heaven's name?' he thought in surprise.

'Who said that?!' came back the reply. The Harley stopped and clouds turned into a medium sized spot in the middle of the air.

'I did. Who are you?'

'Shouldn't I be asking that question? I can tell by your voice you're a male, but if you another demon who took me for an easy snatch and grab I know the exorcism by heart!'

Gabriel snorted in amusement.

'I'm no demon. In fact I'm the exact opposite of one!'

'So how the hell did you end up in my body?'

'No idea. I was ditching my current vessel when I suddenly appeared in here.'

'If you're not a demon, then why did you land in my body? I thought only demons could possess people.'

'Angels can too, though we need permission first. I was too weak to actually go anywhere so I was very surprised to find myself in here,' said Gabriel honestly.

Angels always had to ask permission. That was the rule. Well, there was one exception but the odds were so damn unlikely that he dismisses it out of hand.

'...So, how are you riding on clouds anyway?'

'Magic. I have to say you're at least more tolerable than the last time I had a second soul in my head.'

'Last time?'

'Know what a Horcrux is?'

'An abomination of my father's design. My brothers destroy them on sight when we find them. Wait, you mean to tell me...'

'You're likely taking up the space of a soul I had removed years ago.'

'Well that might explain how I ended up here instead of floating around waiting for a new vessel. A living horcrux is extremely rare, and anyone who survives it and removes the secondary soul would be able to handle a possession without losing conscious control. Only problem would be that I would have a lot of trouble leaving here.'

'You're not going to try and take control are you?'

'No way! Not unless you need the help. I have to recover from nearly dying!' said Gabriel.

'Good. Now where should I go next?'

'...How bored are you?'

'I'm avoiding the Ministries around the world because the British have a warrant out for me, so extremely.'

'What do you know of hunters?'

'Only that they would hunt and kill me if they found out I could use magic. Why?'

'If I were to give you directions to a hunter who wouldn't kill you on sight, would you be interested?'

'Is the life exciting?'

'Extremely. It's life-threatening after all.'

'Where is this hunter?'

Gabriel told her the name and the general state he lived in, but he had no idea what the address was. It took her five minutes to find a Bobby Singer in South Dakota.

It took her three days to get there.

"I'm coming!" shouted Bobby.

Standing at the door under the hidden devil's trap was a girl with long straight black hair and blue eyes. She wore all leather and had a bike parked nearby with a helmet.

"What do you want? I don't repair motorcycles," said Bobby.

"You Bobby Singer?"

"I am."

"Tell the Winchester brothers that the Trickster who saved their idiotic selves is currently stuck and would like them to get off their asses to fix it, seeing as how it's their fault he's like this."

"What..."

"I'll be in the woods if they show up," said the girl bluntly.

She had a portable tent and she had no intention of staying in a hotel where Hunters could make a scene.

Four hours later she heard a car park nearby and fifteen minutes passed before a pair of boys appeared, one much taller than the other. The shorter of the two had green eyes so very similar to her own, when she wasn't wearing colored eye contacts anyway.

"Who are you?"

"My name is unimportant. All you need to know is that the Trickster who saved you at the Hotel is currently stuck inside my head and has no idea how to get out," she said flatly. She had no intention of telling anyone her name when she was being chased.

"How did he get stuck?"

"He said he abandoned his vessel right before he was killed, but Lucifer still clipped him enough that he's going to need a few weeks to recover. Luckily for him I happened to be willing to let his intrusion slide...though if I catch him watching me while I'm showering I'm going to get rather nasty about it," she said flatly.

The short one's mouth was twitching in amusement.

"So to sum things up, Loki, the god of being a pain in the ass, had to ditch his mortal shell and got stuck in a girl? He is never going to live this one down!" cackled the green-eyed man.

She blinked.

'You neglected to mention you were Loki.'

'My original name is Gabriel. You can call me Loki if you want though. Want me to talk to them?'

'I reserve the right to any joint pranks on anyone.'

'Deal,' said Gabriel infinitely amused by her now.

She blinked twice before her eyes turned silver in color.

"Hello muttonheads. How's tricks?" he said with a grin.

"So you really did get stuck," said green-eyes in amusement. Dean was the name he supplied her. The other was Sam.

"And I have no clue how the hell it happened either. One minute I'm about to be stabbed by my own brother, the next I'm riding a Harley on the clouds."

"I think you mean mists," said Sam.

"No, I mean she was literally driving on clouds when I came to. It was awesome!"

"But you can't drive on clouds!" said Sam in disbelief.

"You can if you're a witch. Not the kind you deal with, but a natural born one. Pretty powerful too since she was able to drive through the sky all the way here once she had Bobby's address."

"Why Bobby's?" asked Sam.

"He's the only one of you who has a permanent address that was reachable. You two muttonheads move around way too much for me to bother with trying to track you down," said Gabriel flatly. In fact the only reason he had even pranked them was because they had the bad luck of finding him by accident during his prank mode. He never actively sought them out because he found them slightly irritating to be around.

"So...what do we do?"

"Well since it is your fault I'm stuck like this for the time being, how about...FINDING A WAY TO GET ME OUT?!" said Gabriel more than slightly incensed. He fully blamed the Winchesters for this mess. If they had left when he told them to, then he wouldn't have been nearly killed by his ass of an older brother Lucy!

So yes, he blamed them for this.

"I thought angels couldn't possess humans without permission? And that the souls were passed on to the next destination automatically once they surrendered control?" asked Sam.

"In most cases yes. There are extremely rare circumstances in which two souls can inhabit the same body, even if an angel is possessing it. I had the luck of someone fitting those requirements flying over the hotel when I ditched the vessel you two morons were familiar with."

"We need Cas..." muttered Dean.

"Yes?"

"Don't do that! You know we hate it when you show up without warning!" said Dean, holding his chest.

"You called for me didn't you?"

"We need confirmation that this is really Gabriel. Apparently he's stuck sharing a vessel with a girl," said Sam.

Castiel looked at her and his eyes widened.

"How are you able to share a body?" he asked in confusion.

"She's a former soul container. According to her memories she ditched the parasite but didn't know that made her wide open to a shared possession, even if the second was from a higher plain," said Gabriel.

Castiel nodded. That would do it.

"Why didn't the demons try to possess her?"

"They tried, but every time she noticed one she started chanting the exorcism and drinking holy water until they took the hint and left. They really don't like her from what she's said."

"So a demon has no trouble leaving but an angel does?"

"If I had come here by choice, then yes, I might have been able to leave once I found a more suitable vessel. As it is, I was sucked in here without warning so leaving is much more difficult," said Gabriel patiently.

"A willing possession would mean he could leave any time. Unwilling means he would have to find something to first break the bond between them and then find a suitable host before he was sucked back in," explained Castiel.

"So basically he's stuck like that forever," said Dean with glee.

"Does she have a name?"

"She has a name, but has threatened me with things even I would pause at should I tell you before she trusts you."

"Why?"

"She is currently being chased by the magical communities because she didn't want to be their poster girl and would rather be left alone. As such she tends not to stick in one place."

"She is the Girl-Who-Lived. I can see why she would prefer not to be found," said Castiel.

Gabriel suddenly honed in on Castiel, though his eyes were now a silvery greenish color.

"Congratulations angel, you've pissed me off to the point that you will be pranked mercilessly for a week," said the girl flatly, proving she was strong enough to steal control even from an arch angel. She had the echoing quality of Gabriel's voice, but it was definitely her speaking.

"Girl-who-lived?" asked Sam.

Castiel looked at her in confusion, before he told Sam.

"She survived a direct hit from a one-hit kill technique magicals use. She then proceeded to destroy the same man who murdered her parents and tried to murder her in cold blood seventeen years later. She's been missing for four years now, not even the angels have any idea where she had vanished to."

"Yeah...you might want to stop talking now Castiel...some of the things she's planning to hit you with are almost making me cringe in fear..." said Gabriel with a wince.

Who knew there was a girl out there just as devious as him, only infinitely more sadistic? If he didn't know any better he would swear that his father was behind all of this.

It took all of two weeks before they finally learned her name. During that time she had pranked Castiel relentlessly, whether or not he was in close proximity to her at the time was a moot point. Some of those time-delayed pranks had made even Dean cringe.

It was mostly due to the fact Dean had shot some Ministry official who had barged into Bobby's house looking for her with his salt-round shot gun after he heard who they were after.

Anyone who could put up with Gabriel in their head for several weeks had to have the patience of a saint. Plus she had apparently found out that Death was out and about and had agreed to give them the stone for his ring so they could properly seal Lucifer once and for all.

It was quite a surprise to learn her name was Holly Marie Black (formerly Potter, but apparently they had used the Taboo spell to try and find her).

Finally, Holly had enough and decided to find the one who wrote the Supernatural series, if only for his autograph.

Chuck answered the door to find a rather attractive young woman with blue eyes.

"Can I help you?" he asked nervously.

"You the guy who writes Supernatural?"

"I am."

"I love your books and I would... wait what do you mean he's..."

Gabriel apparently noticed something she hadn't, and was calmly asking if he could take control for a bit. Considering she just wanted the man's autograph, having missed the fan convention, she allowed it.

Chuck looked at her nervously. That skyrocketed when her eyes shifted to silver and her voice changed completely.

"Hello Chuck. Nice to finally meet you," said Gabriel eyes narrowing. From the way he emphasized those words, Chuck knew that he had been busted.

"Come on in," he said with a tired sigh.

Chuck firmly latched the door and added some sigils he shouldn't even know, let alone have them work for a human without blood. Then he turned to Gabriel and his vessel Holly.

"Go ahead and ask, I know you want to."

"Why bother? You left for the same reason I did, because you got sick of them arguing. They've both done things that make it hard for you to step in without showing favor to one of them and hurting the other. All I want to know is if I can break free from Holly without killing her in the process."

"You can't. The entire reason you got stuck together isn't because she is a former soul carrier, but because of the nature of her soul. Have you even examined her essence properly?" sighed Chuck.

Gabriel blinked.

"Not really. I try not to because she's quite inventive and far too happy to make me a test dummy for whatever her mind can create. Stupid mental shields..."

Chuck gave him a look, before he addressed Holly personally.

"Holly, bear with my idiot son for a few moments while he sees the real issue with separating you two," he said.

Gabriel closed his eyes for a moment then examined her soul in detail. Inwardly he swore.

"So that's why I ended up in her while she hadn't given her consent. I wondered why I got along with her so well..."

'What's going on?!'demanded Holly in her mind.

'I was absorbed by you because we're soul mates. Since you were close enough to the area when I fled and had an open connection to wayward souls, I was sucked in so fast I didn't have time to notice it.'

'And that means what exactly?' she asked dangerously.

'We're effectively stuck with each other. Even if we got separate bodies we would only be drawn to each other in a few weeks until we acknowledged the bond,' said Gabriel apologetically.

'I never asked for a boyfriend!' shrieked Holly.

Gabriel looked at Chuck.

"Is there any way we could possibly make it easier for her?"

"Aside from dumping you both in the past and letting her come to terms with this on her own? Not really."

Holly took control, and Gabriel let her.

"What do you mean leaving me in the past?" she asked angrily.

"Between Gabriel and I, we can leave you a few years into the past, roughly when Sam returned to being a Hunter with his brother. The only problem would be that the open connection would keep Gabriel's spirit anchored to your own until he is able to return to his own body. You would be drawn to his general location until the bond settles at least," said Chuck apologetically.

This was not how he wanted Gabriel to meet his soul mate.

"What exactly would I get out of this bond?"

"The magical world has laws about this sort of thing. You can't be forced to marry another if a bond is present, and you can't be separated from your bonded without going insane. In other words you would be free to do whatever you wanted and they can't stop you because of who your bonded is."

"I would be free to live my life?" asked Holly.

"They can't force an angel to do their bidding, and Loki is rather well known as a very vengeful prankster in the magical communities. You wouldn't have to keep running anymore," said Chuck.

"What's the catch?"

"Gabriel will have the ability to see into your mind and dreams with no real way of keeping him out. Other than that he'll be able to keep demons from bothering you ever again, though I would prefer it if you didn't let him nearly die again," said Chuck bluntly.

'That and the fact you'll be stuck in your past body,' added Gabriel as an afterthought.

"How far back will you send me?"

"Five years at least."

"Five... You do realize I would be back in the middle of that damn war again right?"

"And this time you know how to take him out without actually fighting him," said Chuck.

"What?"

"He has a demon contract, one that the demons have yet to collect on thanks to his soul carriers. Give them the general location of where he is and they'll drag him and what's left of his soul to hell for you."

Holly paused. She had an idea in mind for who could tell the demons exactly where to go and get her revenge for their betrayal at the same time.

"Send me back. I'll find Gabriel and hopefully fix this mess at the same time," she said.

Chuck handed her a bag (and signed her books, as that had been her original goal for coming here) which she threw everything in. once she was ready he tapped her lightly on the forehead and everything went white.
