Hey, welcome to chapter four! I've gotten multiple people saying that my chapters are too short, so I made this chapter the entirety of episode 2. It's probably still short by most standards, but I want to try getting a chapter out a day for as long as I can. Now, Reviews!

Stupid Op: I see where your coming from. However, I have different viewpoints on the powerlevels of Terraria bosses. I remember reading that the Devourer of Gods was a solar system buster, and with Calamitas even more powerful than that? That's why I believe she's as strong as she is.

But then again, I don't remember if I got that from an official source or not. At the end of the day though, this isn't a story about power scaling, it's a story about Calamitas' redemption. If you want, you can treat my power scaling like my personal headcanon. It's just hard to place Calamity characters on levels like this with the small amount of lore we have.

Guest: I'll try to get better at making longer chapters lol

JaphetSkie: oh, trust me. I know. The only reason you beat Providence is because she comes down weakened and with her core exposed like a dumbass. Xeroc is the supposed strongest being in existence, so obviously he'd be stronger. Astrum Deus is debatable, because Devourer of gods gained it's power when he destroyed it, and he was still weaker than Calamitas.

Saitama wasn't lying, the rent was dirt cheap. Even with the little money that she had, Calamitas wagered that she should be able to live here for a couple months.

She sighed. "I suppose I should try and find a way to make more money eventually."

The apartment was similar to Saitama's. It had a kitchen, a bathroom, and a main room. She was surprised to discover that the place already had furniture in it. It even had one of those broadcasting machines that Saitama had.

Calamitas picked at her dirty robes. They were slightly ripped from her battle against Saitama.

'I really need to get new clothing.'

She walked over to the TV, and grabbed the remote that was sitting on top of it, recalling that Saitama used it to control the volume and channel. Calamitas fiddled with the buttons for a bit, before finding the power button and switching the TV on.

Idly listening to the news, she went out onto her balcony to look around her. Noting most of the buildings around her were in some sort of shambles, she began to think.

'That sign wasn't lying when it said this area was abandoned. I wonder what caused all of the people to leave?'

She was about to head back inside when Calamitas noticed something odd. There was a giant pitch black cloud hovering over the city a couple miles away.

'Ooook. I've been living in this world long enough to know that's not normal.'

She turned her attention back to the television to see if she could learn anything about the strange phenomenon.

"...-ummified remains of farm animals and wildlife have been found. The swarm of mosquitoes is hostile and incredibly dangerous. If you encounter a swarm of mosquitoes, seek immediate shelter!"

Calamitas looked back towards the 'cloud'. "That's... worrisome. I should probably go and make sure that nobody's nearby."

Wasting no time travelling by foot, she took off into the skies immediately.

The smashing of glass echoed across the empty street as a thug with a crowbar stepped out of a freshly looted building.

"Hah! Thanks to that warning they're all empty. What's losing a little blood if I get to walk away with all of this?"

The man's cocky demeaner switched to a nervous one as a strong gust of wind blew past him, making his hat go flying into the air.

"The wind...?"

The man turned around just in time to see a giant swarm of mosquitoes heading towards him. But just as he was about to be engulfed by them and doubtlessly perish, His vision blurred and he found himself inside of a dark building.

"What the hell are you doing out there!? You heard the warnings, did you not?!"

The man looked up to see that he was being held by a feminine monster.

"AUGH! Please don't kill me!"

Calamitas scoffed. "Why would I go to the trouble of saving you just to kill you myself?"

The man got a better look at the monster, and realized she looked familiar.

"Wait a minute! Your the monster that was on the news the other day!"

"Yeah, sure. Look It's not safe here! Get to shelter and don't come out until it's safe!"

The man looked out the window of the building they were in to find an utterly giant swarm of mosquitoes.

"Y-yeah. No problem."

Calamitas unceremoniously dropped the man and went to leave the building.

"Good. Now get the hell out of here. And stop looting stores."

"But what about you? Your not seriously thinking about going back out there?!"

Calamitas ignored the man, melting a hole in the wall with her palm.

"I can handle myself."

Not waiting for the man to respond, she jumped out of the building and back to the ground.

Calamitas was searching to make sure there was no one else nearby before she let loose when she noticed that the center of the swarm was starting to disperse. As the swarm moved away, she managed to get a better look at the center. There was a humanoid being in the center with the wings, limbs, and antennae of a mosquito.

'So she's the one controlling the swarm.'

Calamitas was about to confront the mysterious mosquito woman ask her what she was doing, before she noticed a flash of light out of the corner of her eye.

"I see. You order the mosquitoes to suck the blood, and then take it all for yourself. So if I were to eliminate you, their leader, would the swarm disperse as well?"

Calamitas looked towards the voice, only to find a young man with metallic arms, yellow hair, and strange black and yellow eyes glaring down the monster above them.

The mosquito lady seemed to shrug off the man's threat. "Hahahah! Looks like out next meal is here! Go suck that fool dry! Oh, and that lady standing next to him as well."

At the mention of another person being near, the man looked next to him, before widening his eyes.

"Another monster!? Was this a trap?"

Calamitas sighed. This was going to get REALLY old.

"I am in no way affiliated with that lady, and I have no intentions of attacking you. Besides, I think we have more pressing matters to attend to.

The two looked back up to see that part of the swarm was rapidly descending towards them.

Calamitas didn't really care, she just let the mosquitoes burn as they touched her. She was slightly worried about the man next to her, but he seemed to be rather capable.

Her suspicions were proven correct when she saw another light ignite where the man was standing, along with the word "Incinerate."

There was a blast of fire, and the swarm burned away in under a second.

"I will eliminate you. Stay right where you are."

"Heh, you think YOU can eliminate ME?! THEN GO ON AND TRY!"

Calamitas was content to sit back and watch the ensuing fight. Of course, she'd intervene if things got out of hand, but they seemed to be evenly matched.

After a couple minutes of struggling, the mosquito monster managed to catch the man off guard and ripped of his arm with the spike on her head.

Calamitas gasped. She hadn't been paying much attention. She sighed in relief, however, when she saw the only thing coming out of the socket was circuitry and electricity.

'Oh thank god. He's some sort of cyborg.'

"Hmm, maybe a leg next time? Wait, what happened to MY legs?"

The mosquito lady looked down to see that the cyborg had taken them when she approached. She scowled, before flying off.

"Futile." The cyborg fired another blast of fire towards her, but it was blocked by a wall of mosquitoes.

As he went to fire another attack at her, he noticed that the swarm was encircling her once again.

"This is bad. If she's absorbing this much blood, then it must be more than a simple food source to her. I should end this now, before-"

"COME BACK HERE YOU BASTARD! YOU AND I AREN'T FINISHED YET!"

Saitama came running down the road, wildly spraying a can of bug killer at a mosquito he was chasing.

The cyborg looked at the man confused. 'Who's this idiot?'

Calamitas was also looking at Saitama confused, but for different reasons. 'What the hell is he doing? Just punch it!'

He came to a stop right in front of the two of them.

"Pttft, Pfft! It's in my mouth! Gross!"

"Saitama? What are you doing chasing a mosquito across town?"

"The damn bastard wouldn't die!"

The cyborg looked over at the bald man. "You are acquainted with a monster?"

Saitama looked at him confused. "Huh? You mean Calamitas? Yeah, we're neighbors."

"Well, regardless, you should leave now. That swarm is conscious, and if it senses you, it will attack."

Saitama looked worried. "Seriously? That's pretty bad. You should get outta-"

Everyone stopped and looked up to see the swarm descending on the city rapidly. It engulfed an entire city block, breaking windows and toppling small buildings.

Suddenly, there was a massive explosion of fire that spread through the storm rapidly, igniting all of it.

The cyborg lowered his remaining arm. "Since she could speak, I assumed she possessed intelligence, but she was just a bug. Bringing the entire swarm together made for one easy to burn target. When I first engaged the enemy, apart from that strange monster, there was no one within a 1000km radius, allowing me to fire at will. WAIT! That man! Is he-"

"Wow! Your awesome! I guess you could say you made the bugs bug outta here."

Genos looked behind him to see the monster lady looking away blushing from the man who was buck naked.

'How did he..-'

The cyborg's thoughts were cut off by the sound of a laugh coming from above them. Flying above the city was the mosquito monster, but now her legs had regrown, and she had become a crimson red.

"HAHAHA! I no longer need the little ones! I mean,-"

She swiped her claw, decimating a nearby building with the wind pressure.

"JUST LOOK AT HOW STRONG I'VE BECOME!"

The mosquito lady raced behind the cyborg faster than he could follow and clawed through the majority of his torso. Turning around quickly, he tried to punch her, but she reave out of the way, attacking him again and again, sending him flying up into the air. She was about to continue her assault, when she was punched away by a flaming fist.

"What?!"

As the cyborg hit the ground, clearly unable to continue fighting, he saw the monster from before with her fist outstretched standing in front of him.

"That's quite enough. There's no point in attacking an opponent who can't fight back. Besides, I think you've more than paid him back for the damage he did to you."

"That asshole tried to kill me!"

"Well, to be fair, you WERE terrorizing the city with your swarm."

"So?"

Calamitas sighed. This was going nowhere. "Fine. Then how about this. If I defeat you, you leave the city in peace. If you win, you can kill him. Deal?"

The mosquito girl smirked. "Fine by me."

She immediately sped towards Calamitas at breakneck speeds, thinking she would just impale her and be done with it. She certainty wasn't expecting her opponent to dodge at the last second. And she definitely wasn't expecting to be thrown through a building by a wall of fire.

"OW! Damn it! This is my superior form! How could you possibly dodge so fast?!"

Calamitas suddenly landed in front of her. "One thing you should know is that no matter how powerful you think you are, there will always be someone stronger. If you get cocky, that only works to your disadvantage."

Calamitas threw a punch. Not powerful enough to kill her, but definitely strong enough to make a statement.

"AUGH! D-damn it! You'll regret this!"

Understanding that she was completely outmatched, Mosquito Girl flew away.

'Damn it! The doctor was recording my actions, so he no doubt saw that. I can only hope that his curiosity spares me punishment.'

As the threat disappeared over the horizon, Calamitas went back to Saitama and the defeated cyborg. She knelt down and inspected the damage that he had taken.

"I apologize for not stepping in sooner. I was waiting to see if you could handle yourself. Although I admit I was caught off guard by just how much her power spiked."

The cyborg looked up at Calamitas in wonder. She had easily defeated an opponent that had defeated him. His belief that he was unbeatable had been shattered, and was humbled by the turn of events. But more importantly...

"You saved my life! If that monster had continued attacking me, I no doubt would have been killed. I am in your debt! I will pay you back any way I know how!"

Calamitas facefaulted at the cyborg's change in demeanor. He seemed so cocky and full of himself a moment ago, and now he was praising her.

"Uh, thank you, but you really don't need to do that."

"I see. Then I have a request. My name is Genos! I am a cyborg that fights for justice! I would like to learn under you!"

Calamitas' mind nearly stopped.

"What?"

Mosquito Girl came in through the window. She was burned, bleeding, and mildly sure she had a concussion.

"Dr. Genus! Dr. Genus!"

"Ah, Mosquito Girl. Your back. You're very lucky that that woman allowed you to escape."

"Forgive me doctor! I got too full of myself and didn't properly evaluate my opponent's strength! I promise I'll do better next time!"

"Calm yourself Mosquito Girl. In case you weren't aware, the very reason I sent you into the city was to lure out potential samples. This woman is very interesting. She doesn't appear to have mechanical parts like that cyborg, and she was capable of summoning fire like he was. Coupled with her odd appearance, she'll make an interesting specimen indeed. You've done well, Mosquito Girl. Go rest in the healing cambers in the basement."

"O-of course! Thank you doctor!"

As Mosquito girl went to go heal herself, The mysterious Dr. Genus looked to a tablet he was holding.

"Yes. Given your strength, I'll have to send out my elite subjects to 'escort' you."

The doctor called out to someone behind him.

"Go fetch Beast King and the others. Tell them they have a new mission."

A man in a white shirt with the number 54 on it nodded. He looked shockingly similar to the doctor.

"Of course sir."

'Once I have your DNA, I can only imagine how far my research will progress.'

Calamitas woke up early the next morning. She had no idea why, but she had accepted Genos' request. He seemed so hopeful, and it was hard to say no.

"Ugh. I need some coffee."

She went into the kitchen and began using the coffee maker that Saitama had lent her. Speaking of the bald headed hero, he had left shortly after she started fighting the mosquito girl. Which made sense, considering his clothing had been incinerated. She thanked the lord that her robes were highly fire resistant. She had managed to wash them finally, given that she now had her own private space. She still wanted new clothes though.

Calamitas was interrupted from her thoughts by a knock on her door.

"Master!"

'He's already here? It's only 7:00!'

Calamitas opened her door to see Genos standing there.

"Uh, come on in. You didn't have to show up so early."

"I wished to begin learning under you as soon as possible."

"I get that, but I just woke up!"

"I apologize for disturbing you so early master."

"Ok, can you cut it out with the master stuff? It's making me feel uncomfortable."

"Yes sensei!"

"Please just call me Calamitas. I don't like any of that formal stuff."

"Just your name then? I understand."

"Hey, wait a minute. How are you already all fixed up? I expected that to take some time."

"Dr. Kuseno, works very fast. My parts are easily replaceable. What parts do you use?"

"What? I don't use any."

"Then how are you able to expel fire from your body?"

"I'm a very talented mage. I can cast many sorts of magic, but I excel at pyromancy specifically."

"Magic? I'm sure it must be something else. Magic doesn't exist outside of fantasy."

"Magic isn't known in this land? That's very odd. Where I come from, everyone has at least a small amount of magical capability. In fact, now that I'm focusing on it, you have a significant amount of mana locked within you yourself. You said you wanted to learn from me? Well you could start by learning how to control your mana."

"You mean I could learn to cast fire without he aid of my incineration cannons?"

"Well, fire is only one part of magic. Mana can also help you fly, increase your physical capabilities, or even teleport. Of course, some are more capable in certain areas than others."

"I see. That would be very useful to learn. When can we start?"

"Well-"

Calamitas was cut off by another knock on her door. Before she could get up to answer it, it opened.

"Oh, it's unlocked. Hey Calamitas, are you talking with somebody? Oh hey, it's the robot dude from yesterday."

Genos shot up immediately.

"How dare you enter my master's house without permission!"

"Genos, it's fine. He's my neighbor."

"I see. I apologize for being so rash."

'He changes emotions so fast it's almost scary.'

"Huh, so your actually gonna teach this guy?"

Calamitas shrugged. "It's not like I have anything better to do."

Saitama took a seat near the table with them.

Calamitas looked back towards Genos.

"So why do you want to get stronger so badly anyway?"

"Well, you see-"

(One incredibly long and drawn out tragic backstory later)

"That is why I seek power."

"I... see. That's quite the tale."

Calamitas was a bit overwhelmed by the story Genos had told. Saitama had gotten annoyed about halfway through and went out onto the balcony. The bald hero poked his head back inside.

"Is he finally done?"

"Saitama, don't be rude."

"Ah, yeah, ok."

"Well, Genos, after hearing that, I suppose I have no choice but to train you. We'll begin later today."

"Ok! I will give it my all!"

Genos suddenly turned his head and started muttering to himself.

"High speed object approaching."

Saitama leaned over and whispered to Calamitas. "He's kinda creepy isn't he?"

"I think he's just overly serious."

All of a sudden, Calamitas' ceiling caved in, revealing a preying mantis like monster.

"Kyakakaka! My name is Kamakuri! I've been sent form the- huh?"

"You're paying for my ceiling!"

Calamitas Picked Kamakuri up and Threw him off of her balcony, before jumping on top of him and burying him in the concrete.

"Owwww..."

Genos looked down. "There's two more close by. I'll handle- huh?"

Genos blinked, and suddenly Saitama was standing in front of the two monsters, who's upper bodies were now buried in the street.

"That was a real dick move you know. There's a door for a reason."

"HIGH ENERGY LEVEL DETECTED!"

A nearby wall collapsed, revealing a titanic armored being. Genos gasped at the sight.

"A cyborg..?"

"OUT OF THE WAY! YOU ARE NOT THE TARGET!"

"Target? What are you talking about?"

The cyborg didn't bother responding, instead deciding to hammer it's fist down on Genos. However, he blocked it with ease.

"Stay still. I have a few questions I'd like to ask you"

Saitama looked at Calamitas. "Hey, do you know what these jerks want with yo- Whoa!"

Saitama was pulled underground up to his head.

"Hm?"

"Bwahahahah! He won't be interfering anytime soon! Excellent work Ground Dragon!"

A giant humanoid lion came marching past Saitama and up to Calamitas, while a mole like being popped out of the ground a ways away.

"We don't want anyone getting in the way of our mission, you see."

The Beast King eyed Calamitas up.

"So you're the one who roughed Mosquito Girl up so bad. Hmph. You don't look like much to me."

"Oh? Are you her friends or something? I apologize for what I did to her, but she was about to kill someone."

"Hah! At least you have some manners. You see, we've been sent by the good doctor Genus. He's become rather interested in you. Since you appear to have some sense of respect, I'll give you one chance to come peacefully."

"What exactly does this Dr. Genus want with me? If it's to clone me, been there, done that. It won't work, sorry to say."

The Beast King shrugged. "What the doctor does is none of my concern. I'm just here to fetch you."

"Well, thank you for the offer, but I'll have to decline. I'm not a fan of being experimented on."

The Beast king grunted, standing up straight.

"A shame. But it's no matter. I'll just have to make you come! Now, prepare to witness the power of the mighty Beast King! Lion Slash!"

Calamitas ducked under the attack, noting the building that it cleaved to pieces behind her.

"Impressive..."

The Beast King advanced, slashing at her wildly.

"You're not going to hit me like that. You might as well try something else or give up."

"You'll regret saying that! Lion Slash: Meteor Power Shower!"

The Beast King's muscles bulged, snapping the chains on his torso.

"Wait, Don't kill her! The doctor want's her alive, remember?!"

While The Beast King had increased in speed and power, Calamitas was still weaving between his slashes effortlessly. As she got closer, she began to summon a miniature brimstone monster, before she slammed it into his chest, sending him careening forward and slamming his unconscious body through a building.

"And that's that."

Ground Dragon watched the event unfold terrified.

'N-no one told us she'd be this strong! even if she doesn't kill us, if we return to the doctor empty handed, we'll be punished for sure!'

Around the corner, Armored Gorilla was laying on a wall. His limbs were detached, and his helmet had been broken off.

"Answer my questions or die. Your choice."

"IT IS YOU WHO WILL DIE, YOU BLITHERING FOOL. I AM THE THIRD MOST POWERFUL FIGHTER IN THE HOUSE OF EVOLUTION. AT YOUR LEVEL, YOU WILL NEVER BEAT THE BEAST KING! HE IS THE SECOND MOST POWERFUL. YOU WILL BE DESTROYED."

Saitama walked over to them, having gotten himself out of the ground.

"Do you mean that guy?"

He pointed over to where Calamitas was inspecting the Beast King's unconscious form.

"I believe he does."

Armored Gorilla glared at the two for a moment, before he broke.

"H-hey hey, I'll tell you anything, just please don't kill me!"

"Huh? What happened to your robot voice?"

"Oh, uh, I was just trying to sound cool."

So, I know some might be wondering why Calamitas spared the house of evolution monsters. My reasoning for that is because of her past experiences, she is going to try everything she can to reason/pacify her opponents before she kills them. Some might be upset that Saitama didn't have much of a role in this chapter, but that's because I wanted to set up Genos and Calamitas' relationship. He'll get more time to shine after this, don't worry.
