Episode 9: The Boxing Match of the Century
Shinji was looking at his dish, cooked by Rei, and he hesitated a little. Despite Rei no longer interested in the topic, she does occasionally cook for various reasons.
"Well, are you going to eat?" Rei asked when watching him.
"Uhh….Well, you see-." Before Shinji could come up with a reason they hear the door being knocked. "I'll get it!" Shinji quickly answered before opening the door.
"Double Detective Agency!" Shinji greeted. The man looked at Shinji and Rei with a funny look.
"You two are the detectives? Aren't you two a little too young?"
"That's about the first thing everyone says to us? But it doesn't mean we can't do our jobs." Shinji said. The man seemed to think about this.
"As long as you two can do your jobs that's enough for me. Anyways, my name is Yoshida and I have a job for you two if you're interested."
"Okay, what is it?" Yoshida seemed hesitant.
"Well, I'm the manager of this Boxing Gym and well…we're going to need you to see it."
(Play WBX Xtreme by Aya Kamiki and TAKUYA)
[Start of the song] Kamen Rider W watches over the city on the top of the building. Scene slowly shifts to the logo with Shinji and Rei on top of it. Scene changed with Shinji putting on one of his hat and Rei putting her book away.
[W-B-X Crime and the City]
[Mata dareka ga totsuzen Door wo tataku] Scene changes to a mysterious person knocking on the door.
[Jiken no yokan Welcome to Windy City] Scene shift to the figure talking to Shinji.
[Kono machi ni wa namida niawanai ze] Scene changes to Shinji going around town asking questions revolving his case without being caught.
[Yami ni hisomou KEYWORD mitsuke dasou] Shinji accidentally bumps into a person which is revealed to be Asuka and hits him with her slipper. Then the word, "KEYWORD", is written on the board. While Shinji and Asuka are exploring a dark place while Rei is in RevolGarry about to go into the GaiaLibrary.
[Hittori de wa todokanai yume (Kensaku suru mugen no Archive kioku to iu umi e to Dive)] Rei finds the book she needs while Shinji and Asuka are caught and Rei starts reading it.
[Kimi to nara kanaerareru Half & Half (Double Boiled Extreme!)] Scene changes to the six halves of W then Rei and Asuka teasing Shinji and soon W took their place riding on the HardBoiler. Then the 6 halves begin walking towards the screen with Joker, Trigger, and Metal on the left and Cyclone, Luna, and Heat on the right. The scene shows Shinji getting out his Joker memory and Rei getting out her Cyclone Memory. The two makes their henshin position despite being far apart.
[W-B-X! Futari no Body & Soul (Hoka naisa only tsumari ainori) hitotsu ni] The Joker and Cyclone halves form W. Next scene shows Shinji and Rei being told about the case and the next in which the two are trying to avoid NERV.
[W-B-X! Saikou no Partner deau toki] Scene shows various forms of W and then W on the HardBoiler in the RevolGarry, which is starting to close.
[Kiseki Okoru (So we can make it!) W wo sagase!] W rides on the highway on the HardBoiler with RevolGarry behind and behind that is Eva-01 with the same color as W.
As song ends Shinji and Rei stand back-to-back and the camera rotates on them and W. The logo appears again with forms of W and ends with the Cyclone and Joker form performing the famous pose.
(At Knock Out Punching Club)
Shinji was staring at the ruins of what remained of the gym and took photos of it. But Misato was also there with him.
"Remind me again, why are you following me?" Shinji asked.
"Because, one, it's my day off so I'm curious to see how you work. And second, Asuka has school and I'm bored."
Shinji sighed.
"Okay, but you let me do the work. Because I'm a hardboiled detective." Shinji said while fixing his black fedora.
Misato sweatdropped.
"Sure Shinji, whatever you say." Misato replied. Shinji then approached Yoshida.
"So, tell me what happened?"
"All I know was that something that isn't human did this." Yoshida said before showing Shinji a recording that the surveillance cameras have gotten before they were destroyed. There was a big bulky creature with terrifying fists who went on a rampage before destroying the cameras.
'A Dopant…' Shinji thought before looking at Yoshida.
"Would there be any reason why this creature would attack your gym?" Shinji asked. Yoshida seemed to think about it.
"Not really, this just about an average gym…but Yuuki Hoshiro does train here." Yoshida answered.
"Hoshiro!?" Misato exclaimed. She then looked at Shinji and started shaking him. "Shinji, whoever did this must pay for ruining Hoshiro's training!"
"I do-nt e-ven kn-ow w-ho th-at i-s!" Shinji said as he was shook. Misato soon stopped and let him go.
"How do you not!? He's like one of the best boxers here!" Misato said. Shinji got on his STAG phone.
"I'm going to need specifics." Shinji said as dialed Rei.
(At Double Detective Agency)
Rei was in the garage, reading her book until she got a call from Shinji.
"Rei, I have some Keywords for you." Rei nodded to herself before going into the GaiaLibrary.
"Keyword?"
"Keyword: Yuuki Hoshiro."
The GaiaLibrary eliminated a majority of the shelves but there were still plenty of them left.
"Keyword: Boxing."
More bookshelves were eliminated and there was only three left.
"Keyword: Knock Out Punching Club."
Two bookshelves were eliminated and only one left.
"Keyword: Training."
There was soon one book left called Practice and Rei began to read it. Rei soon opened her eyes and got on the phone.
"Yuuki Hoshiro, a boxer of somewhat renown. He had a streak of a few wins earning his way to heavyweight champion until it was taken away from him. He used Knock Out Punching Club as a way of getting himself back on top." Rei explained.
"Thanks, Rei. I'll let you know if I need anything." Shinji answered before hanging up. Rei soon went back into the GaiaLibrary before finding a book that interested her.
"Kamen Rider…Decade?" Rei wondered before she started reading the book.
(With Shinji and Misato)
Shinji closed his phone before looking at Yoshida.
"Was this the only gym attacked?" Shinji asked.
Yoshida seemed to think about this.
"No, however, I haven't heard Hoshiro in a while. I hoped nothing bad happened to him." Yoshida said. Misato looked at Shinji.
"Maybe we should check on him. Maybe the Dopant has some sort of grudge against Hoshiro." Misato said. Shinji nodded before looking at Yoshida.
"Do you know where he lives?" Yoshida nodded and written down the address before giving it to Shinji. Shinji got on the Hardboiler while Misato in her car and the two drove off. They soon arrived at a big mansion.
"Just as I thought, his house would look like." Misato said while Shinji gestured her to be quiet. Shinji goes to the front door and knocked on it. After a few moments Shinji knocked the door again but, just as before, there was no response.
"Okay then." Shinji muttered before transforming his watch into a bunch of lockpicks. As he was lockpicking, Misato noticed something. Misato stopped Shinji before pushing the door and when she did the door fell down.
Shinji just looked at the smirking Misato before sighing.
"I could've thought of that." He said before going inside. The two look around to see everything messed up. They soon started hearing noises.
"Hoshiro?" Shinji started. Misato got her gun out. The two followed the noise to a room but when they got to the room they see furniture flying at them. The two rolled out of the way and the Dopant jumped out of the room and onto the main floor. The Dopant was big, muscular, and had huge punching arms. Misato tried shooting it while Shinji got jumped down and faced the Boxing Dopant. He got the Driver on.
"Rei!" Shinji called and placed it on.
(At Double Detective Agency)
Rei was drawing a diagram on the board until her Driver appeared on her waist. She replaced her marker with her Memory. She pressed on it.
"CYCLONE!"
(With Shinji and Misato)
Shinji pressed on his Memory.
"JOKER!"
(At Double Detective Agency)
"Henshin!"
Rei placed her Memory in her slot of the Driver before it disappeared. She soon passed out on the floor.
(With Shinji and Misato)
"Henshin!"
The Cyclone Memory appeared and Shinji pressed it in before placing his Memory in his slot. He pushed the slots aside.
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
The tune was playing while Shinji's body was encased in W's armor. The Boxing Dopant growled at him.
"Kamen Rider!"
W then charged and side kicked him, forcing the Boxing Dopant to go outside. W's right eye blinked.
"Shinji, I suggest we should switch to range form." Rei suggested.
"Like dodging a bull. I'm game." W said before getting two Memories.
"LUNA!"
"TRIGGER!"
He switched Memories.
"LUNA-TRIGGER!"
W changed forms before grabbing the Trigger Magnum and fired. The Boxing Dopant was withstanding the shots before charging at W. But W dodged at the last second before firing more shots at the Boxing Dopant. The Boxing Dopant picked up a car before throwing it at W. W dodged it before firing more shots. Like last time, this was clearly not working.
W's eye blinked again.
"Alright, his armor is definitely too thick for bullets." Rei observed.
"So all we need to do is-." Before Shinji can finish the Boxing Dopant tackled W to the ground. Before the Boxing Dopant can strike Misato appeared and started shooting him in the back before she grabbed the Boxing Dopant's attention. W used the opportunity to his advantage.
"HEAT!"
"JOKER!"
He switched Memories.
"HEAT-JOKER!"
W changed forms, charged, jumped, and punched the Dopant in the back. The Dopant turned, grabbed W and three him. W landed on his feet but sees another car being thrown at Misato.
"Hey! Look out!" W said before grabbing Misato. The car missed them but the Boxing Dopant got away.
"Damn it!" W said before reverting back into Shinji.
"Sorry about that." Misato said.
"It's no problem. C'mon let's check the inside of the house for evidence." Shinji said as he went back inside with Misato following.
They looked around to see the whole place is a wreck. Furniture smashed, glass displays shattered, and windows smashed. While Shinji was looking around Misato looked at an autographed photo.
Shinji soon went upstairs while Misato was looking in the basement. Shinji found Hoshiro's bedroom and heard a noise from the closet.
"Hello?" Shinji started.
"H-Hello? Who's out there?" A nervous voice said.
"Relax, I'm a detective." Shinji said. And after a few moments of silence…
"I-Is the m-monster gone?"
"He's gone."Shinji said before the person came out of the closet. "You okay?"
"Other than my slight back pain, I'm fine." The man said. "My name is Ren Yamato, Hoshiro's manager."
"Detective Shinji Ikari." Shinji introduced.
"And Misato Katsuragi." Misato introduced herself as she went upstairs.
"Did you find anything?" Shinji asked.
Misato shook her head.
"Damn it." Shinji then looked at Ren. "So what are you doing here?"
"I wanted to remind Hoshiro about the upcoming match and to go over his opponent. The next thing I know is that…monster started wrecking the whole place. I haven't seen Hoshiro since then but I couldn't look; not with that monster there."
"Okay, Yamato, everything is going to be fine. But have a few questions for you regarding Hoshiro. If that's alright."
"If it means getting rid of that monster then by all means."
"Who is Hoshiro's upcoming opponent?"
"An average boxer by the name of Tsugami. They were supposed to fight tonight but I'm afraid I have to cancel the fight."
"Can you tell me anything about Hoshiro's personality?"
"I didn't really have anything bad to say about it but ever since he lost his championship, he's been determined to get it back through training and diets.
"Okay, thanks for the info. Also, would you know where this fight was supposed to take place though?"
"In the Golden Bear Fight Club."
"Thank you, also did you know that the gym Hoshiro went to is now destroyed."
"Jesus…well whoever did must have a grudge against Hoshiro." Ren concluded before Shinji and Misato left the house.
"Well, what's next?"
"Well, we could look for Tsugami but we have no idea where he is. But…"
"But?"
"I need to make a visit." Shinji said before he got on his bike while Misato followed.
(With Rei)
Rei drew a diagram of what appeared to be Earth with W's name on it. Next to that Earth were other Earths connected by lines. These Earths, however, had different Kamen Rider names next on it. And next to each of them was a brief description.
Right now, she was in the GaiaLibrary reading a book called Kamen Rider Blade: The Song of Battle. It was only a few pages long and Rei was immediately interested in this. After this she was thinking on reading Code Ryuki, which had more drama.
"How intriguing…" She said
(With Shinji and Misato)
"Uh…Shinji, are you sure you would consider him an informant?" Misato asked. The two were both looking at a man. He was wearing glasses, a Santa hat, and a matching coat. His name was Santa-Chan.
Santa-chan, like Watcherman, was an informant back in Fuuto. He usually promotes local companies and the latest company he works for has just asked him to do a little promotion in Tokyo-3.
"Stay here, I'll be right back." Shinji said. Misato watches Shinji approached Santa-chan. Santa-chan sees Shinji with a surprised face before giving him a bear hug. He then gave Santa-chan some money and Santa-chan gave him a present and the two started talking.
"Aw, how's Rei doing?"
"She's doing well enough." Shinji answered.
"Are you two dating yet?" Shinji immediately blushed at that while Misato laughed.
"I don't know what you're talking about?" Shinji defended himself.
"She's a really unique girl, you're lucky."
"Anyways, can you get me some information?"
"Sure, what do you need?"
"Information on a boxer named Tsugami. Do you know him?"
"Oh! I really like his fighting style. I hope tonight's fight goes real well. Why?"
"Do you know where he would be?"
"He usually trains in the Punching Bag especially since tonight is his match."
"Do you know where it is?"
"Just a couple blocks down the street. You can't miss it." Santa-chan said before an explosion came from the direction that he pointed out. "Well, now you can see it." Shinji quickly got on his bike.
"Misato, let's go!" Shinji said with Misato nodding and getting in her car. The two drove off in that direction.
They arrive to see the Boxing Dopant ravaging the area. He was throwing various cars at the gym before Misato and Shinji arrived. Shinji sees the Dopant about to attack someone, so he had his STAG phone transform and it slashed at him. Shinji looks around to see no one looking at him. He puts on the DoubleDriver and pressed on his Memory.
"Rei!"
"JOKER!"
(With Rei)
Rei was in GaiaLibrary now reading Familiar of Den-O and found herself laughing at it until her Driver appeared. She got out of the GaiaLibrary and pressed on her Memory.
"CYCLONE!"
"Henshin!"
Rei placed her Memory in her slot before it vanished and she passed out on the floor.
(With Shinji and Misato)
"Henshin!"
The Cyclone Memory appeared and Shinji pushed it in the slot before placing the Joker Memory in. He pushed the two slots aside.
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
Shinji transformed into W and charged. He got the person out of here first before dodging a punch from the Boxing Dopant.
"You again!? I'll make this clear, stay off this case, detective!"
"Sorry but threats don't really work on me."
"What about force?" The Boxing Dopant asked before charging a punch and trying to land a hit on W's face.
W dodged it thanks to the Cyclone Memory's power. He soon charged in and punched the Boxing Dopant but he blocked it. The Boxing Dopant then punched W multiple times to the stomach before he started rolling on the floor.
"So what do you have against Tsugami?" W asked.
"Not just Tsugami but everyone who has done the sport of Boxing wrong!"
"Revenge?" Rei asked from her side of W.
"None of your business!"
"When you put this city in danger, you've made it my business." W replied.
"Enough of this!" The Boxing Dopant said before he started punching the ground. Everything was shaking and he soon grabbed a light post and tried to swing it at W. W dodged it before charging at the Dopant before the Dopant threw the light post away. He jumped really high to a building before vanishing.
"Damn it, not again!" W cursed.
"We'll get him next time." Rei assured.
"I hope." W said before looking at the destruction the Boxing caused. "Because if we can't stop this then who knows what will happen. Anyways, when I get back, we're going to use some Keywords."
"Very well." Rei said before making W undoing the transformation. Shinji then looked inside the gym while Misato tried to look for survivors.
Shinji went in deeper before going in the locker rooms. When he gets in there he sees someone trying to hide.
"I-Is he gone?" Shinji nodded. The man got up. "Good, that freak of nature nearly destroyed the building. I'm Tsugami." The man introduced.
"Shinji Ikari. I'm a detective and I'm wondering if I could talk to you about your upcoming match tonight."
"Okay but make it quick because I need to talk to my agent."
"That monster was after you, do you have any idea why?"
"I don't know. Would you have an idea why?"
"I think it has something to do with your upcoming match from Hiroshi. What's your relationship with him?"
"We've only had a few matches but my biggest one would be when I won the championship from him."
"That was you?"
"Yup, but I lost it a little bit after that."
"Would you know where Hoshiro is?" Tsugami thought about it.
"No, I wasn't supposed to meet him until we fight in the Golden Bear Club."
"I see, thank you, Tsugami." Shinji said before leaving. He and Misato meet outside.
"Anything?"
"Not really, but I'm starting to think that maybe Hoshiro did this." Shinji said only to be smacked by a green slipper. He looks to see Misato holding one.
"What was that for!?"
"Don't just say stuff like that!"
"I was just speculating besides I still need to confirm this with Rei."
"What do you think she's doing anyways?"
"I shudder at the thought."
(With Rei at the Agency)
Rei got a black marker and placed a little black mark on certain Earths.
"He already has quite a collection. I'll have to show it to him when he arrives in our world." Rei said before grabbing a bottle and took a sip.
"Vinegar never fails to keep me quenched." Rei mused before continuing her work. She then grabbed a magenta marker and marked two Earths.
"He's gonna have to do a lot if he ever wanted to keep up." Rei said as she was marking and drawing.
(At the Golden Bear Club)
Shinji and Misato just arrived. The place just looked like a bar with a ring in the center of place. An old man notices them and approaches.
"Hello, welcome to the Golden Bear Club! Do you two need a table?"
"Actually, now that you mention it…" Misato mentioned only to be slightly bumped by Shinji's elbow.
"Detective Shinji Ikari, I wanted to talk to you about tonight's upcoming match."
"I see." The man turned his back on them. "Follow me." Shinji and Misato did so until they ended up at his office. "My name is Reiji Kawaguchi and I'm the owner of this place." Misato looked at glass display nearby and sees pictures of a young Kawaguchi as a boxer.
"Is that you?" Misato asked.
"Yes, it has been many years since my last boxing match. Anyways, I just heard that tonight's mtach was cancelled. I'm assuming that's why you're here." Shinji nodded.
"In a sense, Hoshiro has gone missing and I was hoping you could help us find him." Shinji said.
"Before I retired, I was his old trainer. Bastard was one of toughest I've trained. I hope he's alright."
"Would you happen to know where he would be and what happened to him after the championship?"
"He was really devoted to earning his championship back. He came to me a few months ago, asking for advice. I told him to earn his way back the way he did the first time."
"How did he take it?"
"At first he understood it well enough, but he still couldn't let the match go. It wasn't until he started going crazy; asking for a match with current champion."
"I see. Thank you for your time, Mr. Kawaguchi."
"My pleasure, I just hope that Hoshiro is alright. He's a good kid once you get used to him." Mr. Kawaguchi said before he let Shinji and Misato out.
Just then Shinji heard his phone ringing and answered it.
"Rei?"
"…"
"Nani?"
(At Double Detective Agency)
"Hai, it was just reported on the radio. It would be best to investigate it immediately before the cops get there."
"Agreed, I don't want to run into that cop again."
"It would also be a good place for some Keywords for me to use later."
"Okay, also you haven't done anything weird when I was gone, right?"
"No."
"Weird, by my standards." Shinji clarified before Rei looked into the garage. The boards there were filled with drawings of Earths that were connected by lines. And with each Earth there was a different name and W's was on one of them.
"…Not really." Rei answered.
(At the Golden Bear Club)
"Why do I have the feeling that's an understatement? Anyways, I'll check out the place and then we can review our evidence." Shinji said before putting his helmet on.
"Got it." Rei answered before hanging up. Shinji started up his bike before looking at Misato.
"I don't think I'm going to need you for this." Shinji said.
"Why?"
"Where I'm going…isn't going to be a pretty place." Shinji said before driving off.
Shinji arrived at the address that Rei told him to go to, which appeared to be an alley by the docks. He looked around and saw no police nearby but from what Rei said, they'll be here soon. Shinji got off his bike and looks to see a man on the ground.
Shinji checked his pulse.
"Dead…" Shinji grimaced before recognizing the corpse.
"Hoshiro…" Shinji said but then thought to himself.
'If he isn't the Boxing Dopant then who is it?'Shinji thought before getting the Bat Shot and taking pictures of it. He soon notices a ring in Hoshiro's hand. He took a good look at it before placing it in his pocket.
He looked around to see puddles of blood. Whatever happened here must've been something. Shinji took a couple more pictures of Hoshiro's face. He then searched his pockets but there was no GaiaMemory; confirming that Hoshiro wasn't the Dopant. He soon heard police sirens and decided to leave before anything else. He got on his bike and revved it up.
"This is going to be hard to explain to Misato later." Shinji noted before driving off.
(At Double Detective Agency)
Rei hears a knock at the door and sees Misato crying and latched onto Shinji.
"Please, help me." Shinji pleaded. Rei soon go onto Misato and pulled her out hard before she finally got her off.
"How could someone do that to Hoshiro!?" Misato let out.
"I don't know but we're going to find out." Shinji then looked at Rei. Rei nodded before going to the GaiaLibrary.
"Keyword?"
"Keyword: Yuuki Hoshiro." In front of Rei, several bookshelves vanished but there were still a few more.
"Keyword: Boxing Dopant." More bookshelves were vanished and there were only three left.
"Keyword: Championship." Soon there was only one bookshelf left.
"Keyword: Boxing." Now there were only a few books left.
"Keyword: Ring."
Keyword...Anger." Soon there was only one book left. The title said The Old Generation. Rei began reading it. And a few moments later, she joins the others.
"The book that I found described a man's love for boxing which was the one of things that motivated him to not only be a boxer but a champion too. He spent many years as a champion before retiring. That ring that you possess, Shinji, is something that can only former champions have out of respect. But the league stopped making them since the 1960s. Also with boxing evolving, the man thought that boxing is now a shadow of what it was."
"So he bought a GaiaMemory to teach them a lesson." Shinji concluded while Rei nodded in response.
"Not only that but he also targeted anyone who was once heavyweight champion because he felt that they're unworthy of the title." Rei said.
"Who would do such a terrible thing!?" Misato questioned.
"So Rei, did the book say anything about who it was that did it?" Rei nodded.
"Reiji Kawaguchi." Shinji then stood up.
"Alright, let's get the guy."
"I didn't finish." Rei pointed out, stopping Shinji in his tracks.
"With Hoshiro's death announced, Kawaguchi would probably go into hiding. I would suggest looking into his apartment."
"You know where it is?" Rei then told Shinji the address.
"Thanks, also before I go…" Shinji then went to the garage's door. "I need to get something."
"No Shinji, wait!" Then Shinji went in.
"Rei!" Shinji called out and stood astonished of the notes she took. "What is this!?"
"I can explain." Rei said, trying to calm her partner.
"Oh do tell!" Shinji said.
"Actually you'll have to come back after the case if you want to hear." Rei said, suddenly changing her mind.
"Why?"
"So you have a reason to end this case now." Rei said before Shinji got on his bike outside and drove off.
"You two really are like a married couple." Misato mused. Rei blushed.
"Stop talking that." Rei requested which only prompted Misato to laugh. And the more she laughed the more intense her blush was.
(At Mitaka)
Shinji just arrived at the address that Rei had given him. He soon looks around and sees the apartment building. He looks at door 104. He squeezed his nose before knocking at it.
"Special delivery for Mr. Kawaguchi." Shinji said, imitating someone else.
"What is it?"
"Something mentioned in Hoshiro's will." Shinji quickly made up. He heard footsteps and Kawaguchi opened the door. Shinji then grabbed him.
"You're under arrest, Kawaguchi!" Shinji said but Kawaguchi headbutted him and ran. "Damn it." Shinji said before chasing him.
They were running all over the city. Shinji had to admit it, despite being retired, Kawaguchi is still athletic. Shinji soon got on his phone before dialing a number. Just then his bike activated and drove off on its own.
"You're only making things worse for yourself!" Shinji warned. They ended up running in an alley. At the end of the alley the Hardboiler appeared and it tripped Kawaguchi. Kawaguchi was backing up as Shinji was walking towards him.
"Murder? Just because of boxing being changed." Shinji said. "That's low."
"Boxing is an art and I'll be damned if I allowed it to be degraded!"
"Even killing your student!?"
"Hoshiro learned too much. I had to silence him but now…" Kawaguchi got out the GaiaMemory.
"BOXING!"
"I have to silence YOU!" Kawaguchi then placed the Memory into his neck before transforming into the Boxing Dopant. Shinji got out the DoubleDriver and placed it on. He soon got his Joker Memory out.
"Let's do this, Rei." He soon pressed on it.
"JOKER!"
(At Double Detective Agency)
Misato was looking over Rei's notes on parallel worlds while Rei was reading her book.
"Man, Ritz will go crazy for this." She mused. Before Rei can answer her Driver appeared. Rei got her Memory out.
"CYCLONE!"
"Henshin!"
Rei placed her memory in before it vanished. When she passed out, Misato caught her.
"Good luck, guys." Misato said before gently laying Rei's body on the ground.
(With Shinji)
The Cyclone Memory appeared and Shinji jammed it in its slot before putting the Joker Memory in its respective slot. He pushed the two slots aside.
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
Shinji turned to W again. The Boxing Dopant growled as W flicked his left wrist and pointed at him.
"Saa, omae no tsumi o kazoero!" W said in the usual dual male and female voice.
The Boxing Dopant just charged as W dodged a hit before kicking him in the back. The Boxing Dopant quickly got his bearings before attacking W. After a few punches, W flew to parking lot. Everyone there started screaming and running away from the area.
"Looks like we get the ring to ourselves, Kawaguchi!" W said.
"Round 1…" The Boxing Dopant said before getting into a combat stance.
"Shinji, let's bring the heat up for this match." Rei said before W pulled out the Heat Memory.
"HEAT!"
W replaced the Cyclone Memory with it.
"HEAT-JOKER!"
W changed before getting into a boxing stance.
"Ikuzo!" W said before he and the Boxing Dopant charged. W blocked an oncoming hit before punching the Dopant in the gut. The fire from the Heat Memory was doing extra damage. The Boxing Dopant ignored it before sending a few more hits to W. W dodged most of them before he smacked the Dopant in the face.
The Boxing Dopant stumbled back before W jumped and punched him with his burning fist. The Dopant rolled on the floor before quickly getting up.
"Round 1 goes to us." W said.
"Let's see how you do Round 2!" The Boxing Dopant said before quickly rushing at W. He punched W in the gut before W rolled on the ground. W had a little trouble getting up.
"That was a powerful punch." Rei observed.
"Hai, but not enough to take us down." Shinji said before W charged. W dodged the next hit only to be met with another hit. When W stumbled back a little bit, the Boxing Dopant gave W a head butt to the helmet. W was on the floor for a few seconds before getting up.
"Round 2 goes to me." The Boxing Dopant said.
"Alright then! Final Round!" W said before attacking. W dodged a punch before giving the Boxing Dopant an aerial kick. The Boxing Dopant tried to grab W and knee him only for W to do a head butt. The Boxing Dopant stumbled back before W punched him in the chest.
Soon the Boxing Dopant was on his knees.
"Time for the finishing move." W said before placing the Joker Memory in the Maximum Drive Slot.
"JOKER! MAXIMUM DRIVE!"
W jumped with both fists burning. W then split into two.
"JOKER GRENADE!"
Each half flew and each half landed multiple punches. Soon both halves joined together for one last punch to the face. Upon contact, there was an explosion.
When it faded, there was an unconscious Kawaguchi with a broken Boxing Memory with W standing over him.
"K.O!" W said before his eye started blinking.
"Ok, Shinji, let's leave now." Rei proposed. W nodded before getting on his bike and leaving.
(Later at Double Detective Agency)
"Alright, Rei, can you explain to me what is this?" Shinji said as he pointed out Rei's notes.
"Well, after our first lookup, I found a book on Kamen Rider Decade." This immediately caught Shinji's attention.
"A Kamen Rider?" Rei nodded.
"Not just any Kamen rider but the passing-through Kamen Rider. He is able to travel to multiple words. This sparked my interest into going deeper into the GaiaLibrary. There I found out that there are multiple worlds with their own Kamen Riders."
"So that was the drawings are for? They're maps?" Rei nodded.
"I also happened to find out about Dark Decade. An evil version of Decade bent on taking over our multiverse with the Dark Riders."
"Let me guess; Kamen Riders who are evil."
"Basically and Decade's role here is to stop them with our help."
"How many Kamen Riders are there?"
"Fifteen but when I look up Kamen Riders OOO, Fourze, Wizard, and Gaim. Their books were completely blank as if they weren't created yet. The only thing I did learn about them is that we share this world with them. But like I said, those Riders don't appear to be born yet."
"So we're like Sempai then? Maybe if we get a chance I can teach them a few things about being a hardboiled hero like myself." Shinji said.
"That isn't the point, halfboiled hero." Rei said, earning a look from Shinji. "My point is that something big in this multiverse will happen and soon all the Riders, even us, will have to work to stop it." Shinji nodded before looking at the worlds with a black mark.
"What are those?"
"Dark Decade's captured worlds. He as quite a large collection of them." Shinji bawled his fists.
"Do you know when this Decade is going to be here?"
"No, it's random."
"What about his name?" Rei looked at Shinji.
"Nihlus Kryis."

Shinji was at his desk eating breakfast until….
BANG!
Shinji nearly fell off his seat when he heard that.
"What was that!?" Shinji immediately questioned before…
BANG!
Shinji then looked at the garage door to hear another bang.
"Rei…" He soon went in. "Alright, Rei what's with all the…" He then looks around to see no one. "…noise?"
Shinji looked around before another explosion occurred in front of him. Shinji fell and when the smoke vanished, he sees Rei.
"Rei?" Rei looked at Shinji.
"Oh Shinji!" Rei soon gave him a hand and helped him up.
"What was that noise!?" Rei then showed him an orange cube.
"In my latest trip to the GaiaLibrary, I found a schematic for a teleportation device." Shinji the takes the cube and looks at it.
"Does this actually work?" Rei nodded.
"However, it needs a relay at the destination to get there." Rei showed Shinji a miniature version of the cub. "This is one of those relays. After I created a few and activated the device, the relays were teleported away. Plus the cube only works when it wants to."
Soon the cube glowed before Shinji and Rei vanished with an explosion. They soon end up on a highway.
"Like so." Rei pointed out.
"Rei! This thing could be dangerous and-." Shinji said before he dodged an oncoming truck. "Anyways, who knows what could happen if someone finds a relay?" Shinji pointed out. He looks down and sees a relay next to Rei's boot.
"Shinji, in all honesty, this thing could beneficial to us."
"I'd rather not talk about it now but first we should focus on getting these relays. How many relays are there?"
"Ten but now we have four." Rei pointed out before the cube teleported them again. They then find themselves in a campsite. The detectives soon looked to see campers with open mouths and wide eyes. Rei sees one of the relays in one of the camper's hands. She took it.
"Arigato!" Rei said before the cube teleported them. The two then found themselves on the top of the Eiffel Tower. Shinji looks down.
"Jesus!" Shinji said, gasped at the height before Rei notices a relay behind Shinji.
"Shinji." Rei pointed out and Shinji carefully took the relay before the cub teleported them away.
They then find themselves in a dark hallway.
"Now where are we!?" Shinji questioned before they heard gunfire.
"This Alpha Team, we're moving in to secure the target." A voice said.
"This isn't good." Shinji said before the two soon saw a relay in the room across from them. Rei grabbed it.
"I got it!" Just then a soldier saw them and pointed his gun.
"Freeze!" Just then the cube teleported them away.
They then find themselves in a desert. Shinji and Rei looked around.
"Are we in Nevada?" Shinji questioned. He and Rei had a case there once. The two looked to see the relay…guarded by a snake.
"Go get it. I got it last time." Rei said before Shinji carefully got the relay. The snake hissed at them and lunged before they teleported away.
The two soon find themselves on Mt. Everest. The two started freezing until they see a relay on a skeleton. They teleported away to find themselves in a bathroom.
Rei sees the last relay on the sink and grabbed it.
"There's the last one." Rei said while Shinji was looking around.
"Hey Rei, doesn't this place look familiar?" Rei looked around.
"Now that I think about it, you're right." Just then the shower in front of them opened, revealing Asuka. Asuka notices them and quickly grabbed a towel. She then had a dark aura.
"We could explain!" Shinji said but she got her slipper out.
"YOU IDIOTS!"
SMACK!
Shinji and Rei come back to the Agency with red marks on their faces. Shinji placed the cube and the relays in a box before lying on the couch next to Rei.
"You and your crazy finds, Rei."
