AN: Alright guys, I'm here with a new chapter of my very first story…W! And just in time to cross with Decade's Journey. Now…Showtime!

Episode 10: The Passing-Through Rider, Decade
In the art of Tokyo-3 next to the Double Detective Agency, a white building suddenly appeared next to it with the logo, Hitachi Studio.
The doors soon opened revealing a young man with black hair, casual clothes, and a pink camera around his neck.
"So, this is…W's world." He said before looking at himself. "I don't have a role here?" He questioned before searching his hoodie's pockets. He found an ID with himself on it. Soon, a girl with dark skin, orange eyes, and aqua colored hair came out.
"Which world are we in this time, Nihlus?" The girl asked.
Nihlus Kryis turned around.
"Well Fu, we're in W's world and apparently here, I'm a… NERV operative." Nihlus read the ID before putting it away. "Now then, W is a detective here and is two separate people."
Fu then noticed something while Nihlus was explaining.
"So, all we have to do is to find W's working-."
"Is it this place?" Fu asked. Nihlus stopped to look at the Double Detective Agency building. Nihlus got out his camera and took a picture of it. He liked taking pictures, even though they never came out good.
Nihlus then approached the door to see a sign that said, "Vacation. Come back later."
"Eh?"
(Play WBX Xtreme by Aya Kamiki and TAKUYA)
[Start of the song] Kamen Rider W watches over the city on the top of the building. Scene slowly shifts to the logo with Shinji and Rei on top of it. Scene changed with Shinji putting on one of his hat and Rei putting her book away.
[W-B-X Crime and the City]
[Mata dareka ga totsuzen Door wo tataku] Scene changes to a mysterious person knocking on the door.
[Jiken no yokan Welcome to Windy City] Scene shift to the figure talking to Shinji.
[Kono machi ni wa namida niawanai ze] Scene changes to Shinji going around town asking questions revolving his case without being caught.
[Yami ni hisomou KEYWORD mitsuke dasou] Shinji accidentally bumps into a person which is revealed to be Asuka and hits him with her slipper. Then the word, "KEYWORD", is written on the board. While Shinji and Asuka are exploring a dark place while Rei is in RevolGarry about to go into the GaiaLibrary.
[Hittori de wa todokanai yume (Kensaku suru mugen no Archive kioku to iu umi e to Dive)] Rei finds the book she needs while Shinji and Asuka are caught and Rei starts reading it.
[Kimi to nara kanaerareru Half & Half (Double Boiled Extreme!)] Scene changes to the six halves of W then Rei and Asuka teasing Shinji and soon W took their place riding on the HardBoiler. Then the 6 halves begin walking towards the screen with Joker, Trigger, and Metal on the left and Cyclone, Luna, and Heat on the right. The scene shows Shinji getting out his Joker memory and Rei getting out her Cyclone Memory. The two makes their henshin position despite being far apart.
[W-B-X! Futari no Body & Soul (Hoka naisa only tsumari ainori) hitotsu ni] The Joker and Cyclone halves form W. Next scene shows Shinji and Rei being told about the case and the next in which the two are trying to avoid NERV.
[W-B-X! Saikou no Partner deau toki] Scene shows various forms of W and then W on the HardBoiler in the RevolGarry, which is starting to close.
[Kiseki Okoru (So we can make it!) W wo sagase!] W rides on the highway on the HardBoiler with RevolGarry behind and behind that is Eva-01 with the same color as W.
As song ends Shinji and Rei stand back-to-back and the camera rotates on them and W. The logo appears again with forms of W and ends with the Cyclone and Joker form performing the famous pose.
(At the mall)
Shinji sighed as he waited on a bench for Rei, who was in line at the music store for Wakana's latest CD and autography.
He couldn't believe his luck but then again, this was the only way for Rei to get out.
(Earlier this morning)
Shinji placed up the sign before going inside where he sighed before falling down on the couch in a relaxing position.
"Finally, a day-off!" Shinji said with delight. "No Doapnts, Angels, or anything else out of the ordinary." He said before taking out his SDAT Player. "Just me and my-."
Before he could plug his earphones, he was interrupted by a…
BOOM!
Shinji looked up at the garage door to see…bubbles coming out.
"…aibou." He finished. He sighed before opening it. When he did, a huge horde of bubbles blew past him, soaking parts of his clothes.
When it was clear, Shinji went downstairs.
"Rei! What are you doing this time?" He asked before seeing a completely soaked Rei.
"Oh hey, Shinji." She greeted.
"Rei, what's with the bubbles and why are you wet?" Shinji asked before Rei noticed a bubble.
"Fascinating, aren't they? Tiny spheres of soapy water enclosed with air. Some usually last for a few seconds. Did you that bubbles are also-?" Shinji then covered her mouth with his hand.
"What happened here?" He asked calmly before letting his hand off of Rei.
"Well, in the park the other day, I happened to notice a kid playing with these bubbles and I grew fascinated with them." Rei started. "He showed how he made them which made me even more fascinated. So I spent nearly all night researching them before making this." Rei said before showing Shinji her homemade bubble machine.
"How long did it take you to research the topic and make the machine?" Shinji asked, noticing the eye bags on her face.
"About eight hours, why do you…ask?" She said before passing out from exhaustion into Shinji's arms.
Shinji slightly blushed before carrying her bridal style and laying her gently onto the couch. He looked at the sleeping girl.
"Man, what am I going to do with you, Rei?" He wondered. "The point of this vacation was for you to relax, not to overwork yourself especially over trivial things."
Just then the radio started playing an advertisement.
"That's right, Fuuto's own Wakana Sonozaki is releasing her new album today at the Tokyo-3 Mall!" Just then Rei woke up at the sound of that and rushed to the radio to hear more.
Shinji just had a face filled with anxiety, considering his past with Wakana.
"Not only that but she'll be there to sign off her latest release today!" The radio announced before Rei quickly went downstairs, put on some fresh clothes, and grabbed her motorcycle helmet. She ran up to Shinji with a pleading face.
"Rei…"
"Please?" She begged with something she learned from Misato called a "puppy face".
Shinji thought about it, this was the only time that Rei could relax and not overwork herself in the GaiaLibrary. He then sighed as he placed on his fedora.
"Let's go." Shinji decided.
(Present)
Rei was next in line while wearing her hood so no one from NERV could recognize her. She was soon up next. She placed her case in front of Wakana.
"Can you please sign this?" She asked.
"No problem, anything for a fan." She answered before writing her signature on it. "Here you go!" She said before giving it to her.
Rei nodded as a thank you before taking it. Wakana seemed surprised when she saw Rei's red eyes before Rei left.
"Those eyes…" Wakana said as if she saw those eyes before.
Rei then approached Shinji.
"You done?" Shinji asked.
"Hai!" Rei answered before she and Shinji left.
"So, you feel like grabbing a bite or something?" Shinji asked.
"Sure, but no meat." Rei answered before Shinji stopped and looked behind him and Rei. Rei looked back in slight confusion. "Shinji, is everything okay?"
"Yeah, I thought someone was following us for a second." Shinji answered before he and Rei resumed their path. "Anyways, based on what you told me, Gendo's plan is still going on its course despite our interference. We definitely can't keep playing passive forever."
"I have been putting it into some thought as well, Shinji." Rei answered before looking at him with a serious face. "As far as I can tell, we have two options. Either keep playing passive and slowly try to bring out whatever evidence we could find."
"And number two?"
"We plant a mole. Either Misato, Asuka, or…me." Rei suggested. She still does hate the bastard Gendo for using her without giving a damn towards anyone else, including her, but if she herself has to give up herself to put him behind bars then….
"No." Shinji immediately answered. "I'm not going to allow you to sacrifice yourself for this. I want to put that bastard behind bars as much as you do but…Lord knows what he'll do to you in that place. Remember those nightmares that you told me about?"
Rei nodded, she has been getting glimpses of her past in dreams but…they weren't pretty. She was remembering her latest dream.
(Rei's nightmare a few nights ago)
Rei opened her eyes, expecting to find herself in the garage but to her surprise, she was in some sort of pod filled with LCL and was naked. She banged against the glass with her hands to try to escape but was no use.
She tried summoning her Driver to call Shinji but she couldn't nor could she access her library. Rei couldn't help but feel worried for her partner but she was trapped. She looked around to see runic markings on the wall and a chair in front of her.
Soon the door opened revealing the son of a bitch who used her. He calmly sat down on the seat despite Rei's best attempts to get out.
Gendo just watched her as if he was admiring at a trophy. Rei looked at him with an angry face before another person appeared at the door.
Rei was expecting Ritsuko but when the person came into view, her eyes immediately widened with shock. It wasn't any of the NERV personnel but…another Rei.
(Reality)
Rei got up from her couch and screamed in fear. The door immediately opened, revealing a worried Shinji. He quickly ran down to her.
"Rei, are you alright!? What happened!?" Shinji asked. Rei just stared at him with fearful eyes as her body was sweating and taking deep breaths. She just couldn't describe what she just saw before looking at her own hands fearfully. She then stared at Shinji.
Instead of talking, she just shoved herself onto Shinji's chest before crying. Shinji understood she must've had a nightmare and hugged her tightly, not wanting to let go. After what seemed to be an eternity, Shinji broke the hug so he can look at her in the eye without letting go of her.
"What happened?" Shinji asked.
Rei took a while to calm down before explaining her nightmare to Shinji. Shinji was about as shocked as Rei.
"My god…" Shinji muttered.
"Shinji…what am I?" Rei asked, wanting answers that even the GaiaLibrary doesn't have.
"Isn't that obvious?" Shinji replied while Rei looked at him in confusion. "You're Rei Ayanami; a human, detective, pilot, and don't forget the most important thing…"
Rei looked at him before smiling in realization.
"That's right…"
"The two of us are a single Kamen Rider!" The two said together.
(Present)
"I know that Gendo was horrible but…even I didn't think that he would stoop to human experimentation." Shinji said. Now that he thought about it, maybe the reason Rei stayed up so late recently was to avoid any more of those nightmares.
"But that…other me." Rei said, remembering when she saw another version of herself in the dream. "What did that mean? Does that have any connection to my past?" She wondered with a worried look, especially since she can't get any answers from the GaiaLibrary. She could only depend on herself and the only thing she could remember is working a little bit for Gendo, her time in Tokyo-3 beforehand, and most of Gendo's scenario.
Rei also found it strange that she doesn't remember how she gained access to the GaiaLibrary. Nor does she remember the leaders of the group that she was transferred to right before meeting Shinji. She worked at the facility but couldn't remember how she got there.
Soon Shinji patted her on the back with a smile.
"Don't worry Rei, I'll solve your case." Shinji said confidently. "After all, you're my partner."
"But-."
"I don't care how messed up it might be, you deserve to know the truth. Plus…solving a case like this could prove how hardboiled I am." Shinji said as he adjusted his fedora.
Rei had a smile on.
"Even if you solve my case, no matter what…you'll always be…half-boiled." Rei said before chuckling a little bit. Shinji had a flabbergasted face while Rei was walking away from him. He then had an angry look.
"I am hardboiled!" Shinji defended as he caught up to her.
"Whatever you say…" Rei said before they heard screaming. They looked to see dozens of people screaming and running away in terror. Shinji and Rei nodded to each other before the two detectives went to investigate.
The two saw a humanoid reptile terrorizing everything in his sight.
"Any guesses?" Shinji asked.
"If anything, I'd say that's the Lizard Dopant." Rei deducted.
"C'mon, let's see what we can do to help." Shinji suggested before he and Rei helped evacuated everybody. While Rei was helping, she noticed an aqua haired girl with a hood on helping them as well. Rei felt a sense of familiarity with her before the girl saw a child and went for her.
The Lizard Dopant jumped and tried to punch her but to Rei's surprise; the girl dodged the hit before she did a hand gesture and exhaled some sort of powder at the Dopant, temporarily blinding him.
She picked up the child and ran. Rei would've gone after them but she and her partner have bigger things to worry about. The two walked up to each other before facing the Dopant, who can see clearly now.
"Even on our day off we still have to fight. Oh well." Shinji sighed as he placed the DoubleDriver on while Rei's was materialized around her waist.
"I suppose it can't be helped. Ikuze, Shinji."
"Right." He replied before the two got out their Memories and pressed on them.
"CYCLONE!"
"JOKER!"
"Henshin!"
Rei placed her Memory first in her Driver before it teleported to Shinji's slot in his Driver. Shinji pushed it in before inserting and pressing his Memory in. He then pushed the two slots aside.
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
The tune was playing Shinji's body was enveloped in the small tornado before the particles surrounded his body while Rei closed her eyes and was prepared to pass out. Soon Shinji transformed into W.
"So that's W…" The girl said, revealing to be Fu. She noticed that Rei's body was about to fall so she ran up behind her and caught her. W looked in surprise before Fu nodded at him, saying that she'll keep Rei's body safe.
W nodded back before Fu dragged Rei's body somewhere safe. W flickered his left wrist before pointing at the Dopant.
"Saa, omae no tsumi o kazoero!" W announced with the dual voice.
The Lizard Dopant just charged at him while W charged as well. The Lizard Dopant attacked first before W dodged and kicked him in the head. W landed while the Dopant stumbled back.
It soon turned and smacked its tail against W's body. It quickly turned around before scratching W. Sparks were flying off his body before the Lizard Dopant kicked him away.
W tumbled on the ground before his eye started blinking.
"Shinji, we need a switch now!" Rei suggested.
"I got it!" W confirmed before getting a new Memory.
"METAL!"
W placed his Driver on standby and replaced his Joker Memory with Metal before placing the Driver back in its original position.
"CYCLONE-METAL!"
W's left side changed to gray before his staff materialized. W pulled it out and it extended before charging.
"Let's go again, you big lizard!" W called before striking the Lizard Dopant with his staff. He then jabbed it in the gut. "Now then, time for a-."
Before W could finish the Lizard Dopant kicked him in the gut before whipping him with his tail again. W dropped his staff before the Lizard Dopant slashed him to no avail. W soon flew across the floor as the Lizard Dopant slowly walked to him. W had trouble getting up.
"Shinji, we have to do something." Rei said.
"I know…" W said.
"Must destroy…Rider." The Lizard Dopant said before…
"ATTACK RIDE: BLAST!"
The Lizard Dopant got shot multiple times and W looked behind at his savior. It was an armored warrior, like W, but had magenta armor. W's eye blinked.
"Decade…" Rei recognized.
"Sorry, I'm late." Decade apologized before helping W up. He then looked at the Lizard Dopant.
"Decade…" The Lizard Dopant recognized.
"I'm guessing Dark Decade sent you, right?" Decade deducted before looking at W. "Feel like getting some payback?"
"Like you have to ask, I'm in. What about you, Rei?" W asked.
"It's not like we have much of a choice." Rei answered. W then took out his Joker Memory and replacing his Metal Memory with it.
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
W reverted back to his original form and Decade transformed his gun into a sword before the two charged. Decade placed a card in his Driver and closed it.
"ATTACK RIDE: SLASH!"
Decade's sword started to glow before he slashed the Lizard Dopant with it multiple times. W then used Decade's shoulder as a spring board before kicking the Dopant in the head. The Dopant stumbled back before it grabbed a bench and threw it at them. The two moved out of the way and Decade got a new card out.
"Okay, let's see if this works." Decade said before opening his Driver, placing the card in, and closing it.
"KAMEN RIDE: KUUGA!"
Decade soon transformed into Kuuga, much to W's surprise. D-Kuuga looked at the Lizard Dopant before charging.
"He changed!" W remarked.
D-Kuuga punched the Dopant again and again before the Dopant finally blocked the hit and kicked him away. W then charged before punching the Dopant in the face, D-Kuuga got up before kicking the Dopant in the gut and punching him in the face.
"Let's finish this together." D-Kuuga proposed.
"Right!" W answered before he took out his Joker Memory and D-Kuuga with his card. The two placed them where they needed to be.
"JOKER! MAXIMUM DRIVE!"
"FINAL ATTACK RIDE: K-K-KUUGA!"
The two jumped in the air with D-Kuuga, in a sidekick position, aiming his fiery leg at the Dopant while W split apart and aimed the legs too.
"JOKER EXTREME!"
The two attacks collided with the monster, resulting in an explosion. Decade and W came out okay while all that was left of the Lizard Dopant was an unconscious man and the shattered Lizard Memory.
"Time for the police to do the work now." W said before reverting back to Shinji and Decade reverting back to Nihlus.
"Shinji Ikari." Shinji introduced.
"I'm-."
"Nihlus Kryis." Rei answered as she stepped forward with Fu behind her.
"So, you searched me up?" Nihlus asked, surprising Shinji that he knows about Rei's connection to the GaiaLibrary.
"You and the other Riders." Rei answered.
"What does she mean, Nihlus?" Fu asked as she walked to him.
"I don't think this is the best place for a conversation regarding this." Nihlus answered. "We should head back to the studio." Nihlus suggested.
Meanwhile, Dark Decade was watching them before leaving through a Gray Mirror.
(Later at Hitachi Studio)
"Mr. Hitachi, we're back." Nihlus said before he opened the door with the others following him.
"Oh, good I'll get some more plates then." Mr. Hitachi said as he left.
"And we brought-huh!?" Nihlus said as he stood with complete shock.
"Nihlus, what's wrong-What the!?" Fu went off after seeing what Nihlus saw. Shinji and Rei went to have a peak only to see an old man leaving the room with a younger man eating some food on the table. The only thing off with this young man was his weird hairstyle.
"Ah, Nihlus! Fu!" The younger man recognized as he got up to greet them.
"Yugi!?"
"It's good to see you guys again!" Yugi greeted before looking at Shinji and Rei. "Who are these guys?"
"Shinji Ikari and Rei Ayanami. These two are the two-in-one Kamen Rider, W." Nihlus answered.
Yugi had a bright smile.
"Wow!" Yugi then approached them. "Nice to meet you two, I'm Yugi Muto, Kamen Rider Kuuga. I hope we can get along!" He said as he offered his hand. Shinji and Rei stared at him before looking at each other.
"What do you think of him, Rei?" Shinji asked.
Rei looked at the two before coming up with an answer.
"Yugi Muto…and Shinji Ikari. Sounds like we have two peas in a pod."
Shinji seemed offended.
"Me and this guy!?" Shinji then shrugged. "Don't make me laugh."
Yugi the placed his hand on Shinji's shoulder.
"It's okay, I just hope you two are doing a good job bringing the smiles to all those people like I did. If it's one thing I can't stand, it's those smiles gone." Yugi answered
Shinji seemed to have a surprised face.
"You…are alright!" Shinji said as he shook Yugi's hand.
"Good to meet you!" Yugi stated back.
"Good to meet you!" Shinji said.
"Good to meet you!"
"Good to meet you!"
Fu then decided to break up this cycle by getting in between them.
"So anyways, Yugi, how did you get here?" Fu asked
"Well…it started back shortly after you left my world…" Yugi started.
(A while ago)
Yugi was paying his respects at the memorial. After he was done, he got on his bike and drove but as he was driving, he notices a familiar figure.
"Dark Decade!" Yugi chased after him but Dark Decade left through a Gray Mirror but…Yugi went in as well.
(Present)
"Then after I went through, I found myself in this city except I didn't see Dark Decade anywhere. I was exploring around until I found the studio." Yugi explained.
"So Dark Decade is here?" Rei asked.
"It is possible." Nihlus assumed. But then Mr. Hitachi came back with plates.
"Here." Mr. Hitachi started as he laid the plates flat on the table. "Take anything you want."
Shinji shrugged before sitting down and started eating since they didn't really have lunch.
"Rei, you want to a bite?" Shinji asked before he started eating his soup.
"Maybe but right now I need to talk to Nihlus about something." Rei explained.
"Uh…is something wrong?" Nihlus asked.
"No, just some things I want to ask…privately." Rei requested.
"Okay." Nihlus answered before he and Rei go to the back. Fu had a worried look as they went off.
Shinji looked at her and could tell that she was worried about Nihlus.
"You worried about him?" Shinji asked.
Fu looked back at him.
"Maybe a little." Fu answered. "I just hope he doesn't get stressed out here. Anyways, it appears in this world that he is an agent of NERV. You know who they are?" She asked.
Shinji stopped eating as he had a serious look on his face.
"A military organization here in the city, they're main purpose is to combat the Angels." Shinji explained.
"Angels? What like spirits form heaven?" Yugi asked.
"In a manner of speaking…" Shinji answered before telling them about the recent Angel appearances, what they look like, and the Second Impact. To say that everyone in the room was surprised was an understatement.
"These Angels sound more troublesome than Grongi." Yugi noted.
"So what about NERV? Anything you could tell us about them?" Fu asked.
"For starters, it's led by Gendo Ikari."
"Ikari?"
"My father or I prefer to call him, the sperm donor." Shinji said with little sympathy in his voice. He then started explaining his relationship with his so-called "father" after his mother's death to everyone. Fu couldn't help but feel sorry for him. To her, the story reminded her of how her village back in her world abused her for being a Jinchuriki. Thinking about it, she was glad that she met Nihlus when he came to her world and because of that Fu bonded with him. She even volunteered to come with him on his journey.
"That's unforgivable! No father should do that to his son!" Yugi exclaimed.
"Especially if you didn't do anything." Fu supported.
"I know, but it wasn't all bad. After all, I met Boss…" Shinji said as he reminisced.
(Years ago)
The little four year old Shinji was crying on the curb.
"What's wrong, young man?"
Shinji looked up to see a man in a full white suit with a matching white fedora.
"I'm not supposed to talk to strangers." The young Shinji answered.
"Good, as you should. But if I told you my name, would that make me a stranger to you?"
Shinji just stared at him before the man took a seat next to him.
"My name is Sokichi."
"Shinji Ikari."
"So tell me, Shinji. Why are you crying? A man like you shouldn't cry." Sokichi pointed out.
"My mother died and my father left me to a teacher. He said that I'm 'not needed'."
"I see, your father has committed a great sin: avoiding his responsibility to make you into a man like a real father should." Sokichi mused before looking at the young Shinji. Just then an explosion occurred nearby; Sokichi got up but looked at Shinji with a serious look. "Go and get somewhere safe." He advised before running into the direction of the explosion…but Shinji followed.
Shinji stopped around the corner to see a bunch of criminals robbing a store with Sokichi approaching them.
"So, it appears that I was right." Sokichi deducted.
"It's that damn detective!" One of the robbers recognized. "Well, stop him!"
One of them charged before Sokichi grabbed him arm and flipped him before punching him directly in the face, knocking him out. The other charged before Sokichi kicked him away.
Shinji was watching in amazement as Sokichi, who had just learned that he is a detective, was in the process of stopping a crime. While Sokichi was fighting, the leader pointed a gun at his back.
"Behind you!" Shinji yelled.
Sokichi looked and quickly disarmed the man before knocking him out. More men appeared and Sokichi and Shinji noticed hostages nearby. He looked at Shinji before he resumed fighting.
Shinji went over and to help and untied the ropes.
"Thank you." One of the hostages said before leaving. As Shinji looked at them, he saw that their faces, which had tears, were replaced with smiles. Shinji smiled back.
Later, the police arrived and Shinji was in front of Sokichi.
"That was reckless of you. To storm in while dangerous men were nearby." Sokichi scolded. "But…you have helped. I guess I should give you that. Maybe you can be a real man with the right training."
Shinji then looked at him.
"Can you…train me then?" He asked.
"Are you sure? Being a detective is a dangerous and cold path, child. There are many obstacles and heavy decisions that you must make as one. Answer this, why do you want to learn from me?" Sokichi asked.
"At first, all I cared about was my tears but after seeing those hostages with their tears, I didn't want them to feel what I feel. I just didn't want to see any more tears in this city. Maybe…with your help I can do so, even if I have to live alone." Shinji answered.
Sokichi smiled.
"Well child, I like your determination. I'll consider it."
"Thank you, Sensei."
"You don't have to go with any formalities. If you're going to be my student, then at least call me with a more…casual name."
"Okay…Boss."
(Present)
"If anything…Boss was the man that I look for guidance in."
"What happened to him?"
Shinji had a dark face as he remembered Begins' Night.
"I…messed up." Shinji answered.
"What about Rei?"
"My partner, Rei Ayanami. I met her two years ago on a case with Boss. We were sent to rescue her before we got into trouble. Then after that, she and I transformed into W forthe first time. We became partners since then." Shinji explained.
"She said she 'look up' Nihlus. What did that meant?"
"Rei has a connection to the GaiaLibrary, or at least that's what she calls it. It's apparently a huge database with information on everything on this planet."
"No way! That sounds really useful for detectives like you!" Yugi remarked.
"I'm not sure if it's a boon or a curse. Don't get me wrong, the GaiaLibrary has really helped us solved cases in such a short amount of time but…Rei also goes in there to learn on her own before…testing them out." Shinji answered, remembering her experiments.
"Rei Ayanami sounded like a weird name." Mr. Hitachi remarked as he was drinking his coffee.
"It's the only thing that she remembers. She has amnesia and not even the GaiaLibrary has the answers she wants."
"You sound like you care about her." Fu observed.
"She's a good partner. Better than I deserve." Shinji said before drinking his tea.
"You sound like you want to be more than partners." Mr. Hitachi observed.
At the instance, Shinji did a spit take.
"W-What is that supposed to mean!?"
"Mean by what?" Rei asked as she and Nihlus joined the others.
"The whether you and Shinji are more than partners." Fu answered, causing Rei to blush as well. Everyone laughed at their misfortune while Nihlus took a picture.
"Oh, you're one to talk! What about you and Nihlus?" Rei asked, causing Fu and Nihlus to blush this time.
"We're just friends!" The two of them defended at the same time.
"Uh huh, likely story." Shinji said, using his power of deduction to obviously tell that these two have feelings for each other.
"Can we please not talk about this?" Nihlus pleaded. "We won't tease you if you don't tease us. Deal?"
"Deal." Everyone agreed.
"So, I've been talking with Rei here and we settled a few…matters." Nihlus said. "For starters, since I'm going to be working for NERV in this world, I'll try to gather as much data as I can for you two. After all, us Riders have to help each other."
"What's the other thing?" Shinji asked, curious of what Nihlus and Rei talked about.
Just before Nihlus answered, the doorbell ranged. Nihlus answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hi, I'm Misato Katsuragi and this is Asuka. We're your new neighbors!" Misato said. "Do you mind if we come in?"
Nihlus gestured them in before the two saw the detectives.
"Oh you two are here too!? Now, this can be a party!" Misato exclaimed while trying to get to know everyone while Asuka had a somewhat sour look on her face.
"What's wrong with you?" Shinji asked.
"I don't want to talk about it." Asuka answered, thinking about school today.
Shinji noticed Nihlus smiling at the scene before taking another picture.
(Later around nighttime at the Agency)
"So what did you and Nihlus talked about?" Shinji asked.
"Nothing you have to worry about. He's an okay guy." Rei commented.
"But you made it sound like it was important."
"Shinji, if anything major has come up, you'd be the first I'd go to." Rei pointed out.
Shinji seemed to relax a little.
'Good point, plus, we finally have our mole. Now you don't have to worry about it." Shinji said.
"Don't forget, Nihlus is in this world for a short amount of time." Rei reminded Shinji. It was true, Nihlus's goal was to unite the Riders against Dark Decade and his Riders which meant he had to travel to every world to find the rest of the Riders.
"I know but I'd rather savor this moment while it lasts. Anyways, from what you told me, Jet Alone is making its test run tomorrow, right?"
When Rei told Shinji all about Gendo's scenario, she mentioned possible competition against the EVA. And knowing Gendo that competition isn't going to last if he has anything to say about it. However, she didn't remember how he'll sabotage only that Jet Alone will work…in his favor.
"That's right. I told Nihlus and Yugi about the situation, they said that they'll help however they can."
"Good, glad to see Riders working together like we should." Shinji said as he relaxed himself on the bed.
Rei got her book out and was about to open it but…
"Rei, go get some sleep this time."
"But, the nightmares…"
"If it means anything to you, you can sleep in my bed. I'll take the couch here." Shinji said as he got up.
"You sure?"
Shinji nodded.
"Of course, I care about you. After all, you're my aibou." Shinji explained before he got himself comfortable on the couch. "Night, Rei." Shinji started before sleeping.
Rei looked at him before smiling.
"Night, Shinji and…thank you for everything." Rei said before she slept on the bed.
(Elsewhere in the city)
In the mansion that Ryubee bought for the time that he and Wakana were here, Wakana was in her room and was thinking about the red-eyed fan that she met today in the mall.
She couldn't help but think that she saw someone with those bright red eyes before. That was when it came to her.
"That's right…" Wakana thought before remembering.
(Two years ago in Futo)
Wakana was walking around the mansion until she noticed a car at the front door. She decided to go out front and investigate the matter. She then saw her father talking with the driver. Out of the back, came a young girl with blue hair and bright red eyes. She was also wearing s school uniform.
Wakana approached her father.
"Tou-san, what's going on? And who is this?" Wakana asked as the girl approached them.
"This is Rei Ayanami and she'll be staying here with us for a while."Wakana looked into Rei's eyes and saw the cold emotionless tone in her.
Ryubee placed his arm around Rei.
"Now come, Rei. Let me show you around here." Ryubee said before taking her in.
(Present)
'But that couldn't be the same girl…could it?' Wakana thought. The eyes she saw today were full of life and excitement of seeing the idol while the eyes she saw back then were cold, lifeless, and looked as if they didn't care about living.
She then decided just to shake it off. Those red eyes could just be contact lenses or a genetic disorder. Besides, Rei disappeared two years ago when the facility was wiped off the map.
Wakana soon decided to get something to eat until she saw her father on the phone.
"I understand. When will you be coming?"
"…"
"Good, bring the equipment that I've requested. I look forward to seeing you again."
"…"
"Love you too." Ryubee said before hanging up. He then noticed Wakana.
"Tou-san, who were you talking to?"
"Your sister, apparently she and her husband will be coming here soon." He explained.
"Why?" Wakana asked. She was really surprised.
"I think it's important to have a good foothold here in Tokyo-3. I doubt Ikari can hold his plan together with the Kamen Rider up and about." Ryubee started to explain. "Plus, they've decided to spend their honeymoon here. I thought they would be kind enough to bring some equipment from home to here."
"Why?"
"Just to make things…more homey here especially since the Kamen Riders is here." Ryubee answered.
"Riders?" Wakana asked, confused of the plural form.
"Hai…" A new voice said, revealing to be a figure in a black coat. "Where are my manners? I am Dark Decade and a few…adversaries of mine. Mind you that they are also Kamen Riders." He advised.
"Dark Decade has gone to great lengths to find and ally with us." Ryubee explained. "And I can already tell that he's smarter than Gendo here. Dark Decade, I can tell that this is the start of a beautiful friendship here."
(The next day)
W and the other Riders were discreetly following Misato with HardTurbuler. They were avoiding any unnecessary air traffic.
"Are you sure we can't let Misato know? I mean this is dangerous if she does volunteer." Kuuga pointed out. W told everything that Decade and Kuuga need to know about the upcoming Jet Alone test.
W's eye blinked.
"This might seem dangerous but I have no doubt that Misato will be okay. After all, she survived the Second Impact. But, she's blinded in her revenge against the Angels maybe one day, we'll tell her of the Commander's true intentions along with anyone else that he used." Rei answered.
W continued to fly around while trying to avoid unwanted attention for a couple hours.
"Better make yourselves comfortable here because we're going to be here for a while." W said.
After a couple hours of flying around, the three Riders soon saw Jet Alone.
"That thing is massive!" Kuuga remarked.
"So are the Angels." W responded.
They started watching Jet Alone moving and W and Decade started to look anticipated. It only took a matter of seconds for Jet Alone to lose control and started heading towards the command center.
"Shinji, it's time." Rei reminded.
"Right." W said before pulling out one of his Memories.
"TRIGGER!"
"CYCLONE-TRIGGER!"
W and Decade started shooting Jet Alone until it stomped a piece of the command center and continued walking. The Riders decided to check to see if anyone is alright.
"CYCLONE-JOKER!"
"Oi! Is everyone alright?" W asked as he reverted to his default form.
"W!? What are you doing here!?" Misato questioned as she stood up. "Who are these people?"
"These guys are Kamen Riders Decade and Kuuga." W introduced as he landed the hover cycle. W was about to respond to why they're here but…
"It doesn't matter, if we don't stop that thing a meltdown can occur!" Decade pointed out. He knew that Jet Alone was running on a nuclear reactor and will cause a meltdown from overheating if it wasn't stopped.
"He's right, but normally under certain circumstances, our only option is to wait for it to stop." Shiro Tokita answered.
"What are the chances that it'll stop automatically?" Kuuga asked.
"0.00002%! We'd better hope for a miracle!" A technician said.
"We can't just stay here and do nothing! Is there any way to shut it down?" Misato asked.
"We've tried every possible option."
"I wouldn't say that." Rei answered through W. "There's always some sort of failsafe in case of an event like this. Like a password or something similar, correct?" She deducted.
"The password to delete all programming is top secret. I can't authorize it." Shiro answered.
"Then get the clearance. Right now!" Misato ordered.
Shiro got on the phone and it lead to one person to another. Misato and the Riders thought that this call was just a waste of time since the real reason for these transfers was that no one can claim responsibility.
He soon got off the phone.
"A written order of clearance will be sent. That will make this an official operation." Shiro explained.
"There's no time, by the time we get it, it'll explode!" Decade reminded.
"Jet Alone is heading for Atsugi." The intercom announced.
Time is running out." Misato pleaded. "I'll take responsibility for this myself."
Minutes later, W volunteered to go into Jet Alone and shut it down from the inside. Misato was trying to plead with W to let her do it instead.
"You two, don't have to do this." Misato pleaded in the halls. It was safe for her to use W's real names since no one was around.
W looked at her as his eye blinked.
"I'm sorry, Misato, but it's really too dangerous for you. Shinji and I have been on a few cases when it comes to diffusing a bomb." Rei said.
"But the radiation…"
"This armor deserves more credit than it has." W answered as he looked at himself. "Nothing can get in our out of this suit without our saying."
"Nothing is going to change your minds, huh?"
"No." Both halves of W responded.
"I didn't think so. In that case…I'm coming with you." Misato decided. Both halves were obviously surprised.
"What!?"
"You two heard me, I'm coming with you." Misato said before she walked into the locker room to change.
"But, it's going to be simple, we're inputting a command directly into its mainframe." W said but they soon heard Misato changing and her calling Hyuga to bring Asuka, Unit 2, and the F-Module. She soon came out in a radiation suit, making W sigh. Like him, Misato isn't giving up on this.
They soon reported back to the command room and proposed their idea.
"Are you two serious?"
"Yes."
"But the interior must be flooded with radioactivity. It's too risky!" Shiro replied.
"We don't have much of a choice. If we do this, then we can save everyone." W pointed out.
Just then the terminal was destroyed by a technician with an axe.
"The hatch can be opened as soon as our signal is cut off."
"You two should be able to enter through the back pack." Another technician explained as he tore a plug apart. Misato and W nodded.
"'Hope'." Shiro said.
"Huh?"
"That's the password to delete the programming." He explained.
"Thank you." Misato said before looking at the HardTurbuler.
After a few minutes, the Riders and Misato got on before chasing Jet Alone. The Riders were on the side while Misato was at the back.
"So can this thing catch up to JA?" Kuuga asked as Jet Alone was in their sights.
"Maybe, haven't tested that out. I do have some doubts." W admitted.
"I can take care of that." Decade volunteered. "Just get us close enough to JA and I'll handle the rest. Once you guys get inside, me and Kuuga will try to distract it."
"How?" Misato asked.
"Let us worry about it." Decade said.
It soon looked like they're not able to catch up.
"Oh no, you don't!" W said before revving up his machine. They were soon close to its back now. "Decade!"
"Right!" Decade said before placing a card in his Driver and closing it.
"KAMEN RIDE: KABUTO!"
Decade transformed into Kabuto much to W and Misato's surprise. He then got a new card out and used it.
"ATTACK RIDE: CLOCK UP!"
Soon in the matter of a few seconds, W and Misato found themselves on Jet Alone with the emergency hatch opened. They looked at Decade and Kuuga were on the HardTurbuler. Decade gave them the thumbs up to go in.
Misato looked at the entrance as she felt heat coming from it.
"Talk about hot. This looks bad." She noted before she and W went in.
Decade looked at Kuuga.
"Now, we gotta buy them some time by restraining that thing." Decade said.
"But how are going to stop something that size?" Kuuga asked.
"I'm sorry, Yugi but we don't have a choice." Decade said as he pulled out another card and placed it in his Driver before closing it.
"FINAL FORM RIDE: K-K-KUUGA!"
(Inside the Jet Alone)
After a few seconds of exploring, the two found the terminal room.
"Here it is." Misato remarked before using her card to access the terminal. Unknown to Misato, W pulled out the Bat Shot in its camera form before he started taking pictures of the terminal. The prompt for the password came out, which W took a picture of, and Misato typed it in.
When she pressed the Enter button, all she got was an error message. W took a picture of it.
"Error? What the hell is this!?" Misato questioned before pressing it again only to get more Error messages. "There's no doubt. The programs been altered."
"Sabotage, huh? Sounds like a serious crime." W said before putting his camera away. W's eye blinked.
"We'll look into this further later, Misato. Right now, I suggest we find an alternative towards shutting down JA." Rei suggested.
"That's right." Misato said before she started looking around. The two then noticed the control rods to JA's core. Rei then had an idea.
"Maybe we could try pushing the control rods into the core itself." Rei suggested before W and Misato felt shaking from outside. The Riders and maybe Asuka were trying hard to hold JA back but they obviously can't do it forever. And the reactor itself seemed to be acting tenser than it was previously ago.
"Guess, we have no choice, we'll have to go for the long run." Misato said before she and W started pushing on the rods.
The rods didn't seem to budge but W and Misato kept pushing on them but soon W stopped and got his camera out again. After a few moments, the rods were automatically pushed back in and W took pictures of it before the system was green and JA has shut down.
Misato and W were thinking about what just happened.
"That miracle was set up by someone." Misato noted.
"To be honest, we anticipated this." W said, surprising Misato.
"You did?"
W's eye blinked.
"Jet Alone; the giant robot that is able to outclass an Evangelion and can hurt NERV in more ways than one. That definitely would've caused unwanted attention." W's female side explained.
"We do have an idea for a prime suspect. But for now, we'll look into it further
After a few moments, the two went out to see the downed JA, Unit 2, and D-Kuuga Pegasus Form riding a metallic stag beetle.
W got on his phone and summoned his HardTurbuler before he and Misato got on and flew.
(Later in NERV Headquarters)
"Recovery of Unit One is completed. No danger of radioactive contamination. Except for Captain Katsuragi and the Kamen Riders' intervention, everything went according to plan." Ritsuko summarized as she and an agent were talking to Gendo.
"Good." Gendo said but he still had a troubled look on his face. The fact that there are more Kamen Riders out there isn't worrying enough but the fact that W has seen the system come back on its own. He knows that W doesn't trust him and he has no doubt that W is, at this point, very suspicious of him and has the potential to be a very dangerous enemy.
Ryubee said that he'll take care of it when the time comes but Gendo had to be sure of it himself. Right now to Gendo, the only way to keep W at bay is blackmail meaning that if he wants W off his back, then he needs to learn his identity and fast.
Unknown to them, outside the office was Nihlus holding a mechanical frog. Nihlus had a smile on his face, thinking he just heard enough. He turned off the Frog Pod before placing it in his pocket and resuming his business.
(The next morning in Double Detective Agency)
Shinji was on his typewriter with the printed pictures and the Frog Pod with the audio files that Nihlus has.
"Finally, have our real first piece of evidence against Gendo and NERV. It's also refreshing for us Riders to have each other's backs. But yet, I still worry about Rei sometimes. These nightmares that she tells me about are getting stranger and creepier with each passing night to her. But maybe this first piece of evidence maybe the first step in not only stopping Gendo but discovering Rei's-."
Just then Shinji heard flashes from the garage door, he decided to investigate. He opened it and went down.
"Rei, what's going on-?"
Just then his eyes were blinded by a bright light.
"Hey!" Shinji rubbed his eyes to see Rei with the Bat Shot and background in front of her. "Rei, what are you doing?"
"After being in the photo studio next door, I've grown curious and decided to search up photography and I've came back with over 3 million results." She said before taking another picture of Shinji.
"How many pictures did you take?" Shinji asked.
"Take a look." Rei answered as she passed the camera to Shinji. Shinji looked and to his surprise, all these pictures were really good. But he was surprised at….
"Rei, you've used up about 90% percent of the memory in this thing." Shinji pointed out as he passed it back to Rei.
"Really? This can go with the others then." Rei said.
"Others?" Shinji looked to see other pictures on the desk nearby. Shinji stared at Rei while she took a picture of his stare.
"This can go in the scrapbook." Rei mused.
"You'd better not! Gimme that!" Shinji protested as he tried to take but Rei evaded his reach.
"Sorry, can't do that." Rie said before she ran off.
"Rei!" Shinji called before chasing her.
AN: There's my latest chapter, Nihlus making his appearance and the detectives getting their first piece of evidence of Gendo's plan. Usually I would've made an Omake but I've decided to cancel that for this announcement;
