And before I forget, warning for spoilers to the game I am describing. Can you guess which game this is? If you see the title then you can guess which game I'm talking about.
I am in a place with water and mountains in the background. There're trees and colourful flowers in this place. I walk around until I see a blue animal running across the place. He jumps up and collects the gold rings in the air. I try to follow him but he is running very fast. I walk around, looking for the blue animal. There are robot animals all over this place. There're the ladybugs, crabs, bees and fishes. I run past them and see a box thing with a picture of a ring on it. I jump on a yellow spring that sends me up and over to the hill at the top. I quickly move away as the floor I land on falls down. I collect some gold rings on the ground. I see a pole with a ball on the top. The blue animal runs past the pole and turns the ball red. He jumps up across the flying platforms. I couldn't jump that high so I keep running on the ground. I run and run until I get tired. I rest up at the box with a picture on it. The blue animal jumps in and onto the box, breaking it. I follow him to a sign that has a picture of a man on it and a big gold ring floating near and above the sign. The blue animal runs into the sign which causes the sign to spin around. He then jumps into the big gold ring and they both disappear. I watch the sign spins around until it stops on a picture. The picture is of the blue animal who is smiling in the picture.
I carry on to the next place. I run and collect rings that are on the ground. I come across a dangerous place. It has moving hills that go up and down. There are spikes between the hills. I carefully jump across the hills. The robot animals attack me. I run away from them. I slide down a tube and then run across the hills. The hills fall down when I cross them. I make it to the sign. I look at the sign until the blue animal runs into the sign and jumps into the big gold ring. That blue animal runs very fast.
I use the springs to jump to the top. I find a box with a picture of a round thing. I jump on the box to break it. A blue shield appears around me. I carry on running through this place. I keep missing the flying platforms and falling to the ground floor. I quickly run as some things appear from the wall and chase after me. I keep running as fast as I can. I stop when I hit a wall. I look back to see the things flying toward me. I thought that the things are going to attack me but then the blue animal jumps in and beats the things by jumping on them. The things break and cute little animals jump out. The cute little animals jump away. I am about to jump on the moving platform but stop when I see the blue animal runs very fast and turns into a ball. He rolls into the wall and destroys it. I follow the blue animal through the wall he destroyed. We run past the bridge and past the pole with a ball on top. I follow him to a place that has two floating platforms.
A round looking guy riding in a round machine flies in. "What's this?! Sonic the Hedgehog?! Why do you insist on getting in my way!" the round looking guy shouts at the blue animal. He laughs when a big ball comes out of the round machine at the bottom. "Let's see you dodge this!"
The round looking guy tries to hit Sonic using the big ball. Sonic runs under the floating platform where the big ball can't reach him. I watch as Sonic jumps on the floating platform and hits the round machine by jumping at the machine from the bottom. Sonic then run to the other side and under the other floating platform. He waits for the big ball to move away from him and then he quickly jumps up the platform and hit the round machine. Sonic keeps doing this till he beats the round machine. The round machine blows up which causes it to lose the big ball. I laugh when I see the round looking guy looks so burned because his round machine blew up.
"Who's that laughing?! No one laughed at the brilliant scientist Dr. Robotnik!" the round looking guy shouts.
Robotnik flies away in his round machine. I follow Sonic to a machine with a yellow button on the top. Sonic jumps on the yellow button on the machine which causes the machine to blow up and the animals inside it to jump out.
In the next place, it is full of old broken buildings. I follow Sonic through this place. I watch as he beats the robots by jumping on top of them. He has to be careful of the caterpillar robot as there are spikes on the body. Sonic jumps on the head to beat it and frees the animal inside it. Every time Sonic beats the robots, the little animals jump out and jump away. There're moving platforms and lots of lava in here. I follow Sonic across this dangerous place. Sonic grabs me and carries me over the round like floor. As soon as we land on it, fireballs appear from one end of the round like floor and spread to the other end. We quickly jump over to the next one which does the same thing. We keep jumping across until we're on the safe floor. Sonic jumps on the box and gets a shield around him. We go underground where dangerous things try to crush us. We quickly jump past them. Bat robots attack us but Sonic beats them by jumping on top of them. We need to push a heavy box over to the button so that the thing blocking our path will go up and we can continue down this place. We have to be careful as there are spikes coming out of the wall. We wait for the box above us to fall on the lava. We jump across the floating boxes. We couldn't jump high enough to get up this wall so we wait for the scary spike thing to fall down. We jump on the spike thing that fell and wait for it to take us up. Sonic carries me up across the moving platforms and the falling spike things. We make it back outside and jump across the platforms. We have to be careful when jumping over the lava because sometime there are fireballs that jump up from the lava. We run quickly across the round hill platforms that float on the lava. Fireballs appear and spread across the floor when we run over those platforms. We turn the sign and jump into the big gold ring.
Wow, this place is so colourful and there birds in the background. There're red and white round things around this place. I see some round 'R' things around this place. There're also round star things that push Sonic away when he hits it. I notice that the whole place moves in different direction when Sonic hits the round 'R' things. Sonic rolls over to the shiny square things. The shiny square things come in yellow, purple, blue and green. When Sonic hits them, they change colours. It change from blue to green to yellow and then to purple. When he hits the purple ones, they disappear. Now the background changes into fishes. I look closely and see a colourful gem hiding in those shiny square things. Sonic breaks some of the shiny square things that are in his way and rolls into the colourful gem. Sonic shows me that he has collected three colourful gems. He has a blue one, a yellow one and now a purple one.
In the next place, we beat the bad guys by jumping on top of them and then we go underground. We have to press a button to make the big thing moves down. We push a box into the lava. Sonic carries me and we jump onto the moving box on the lava. We jump over the floating platform that is in our way. We jump on top of the floating platforms in front of us to avoid the falling lava. We quickly jump across it only to get attack by machines that spit fireballs. We jump down to avoid them. Sonic moves some more boxes. We jump down where the lava chases us. Sonic quickly grabs me and he runs as quick as he can. He has to jump over some of the floor that are high and avoid the spikes on the floor. We make it out before the lava reach us. Next we go across the swinging platforms over the lava and when we make it across, we press the button to make the big thing go down. We jump up and push the box into the lava. Sonic carries me again and jumps onto the moving box. The lava under us jumps up, taking the box we are on up with it. We jump over more floating platforms that are in our way while being thrown upward by the lava. The lava throws us up high above the wall. When the box reaches the top, me and Sonic jumps over to the floor at the top of the wall. We jump up across the moving platforms and make it outside again. We jump across more platforms over the lava while avoiding the jumping fireballs. Sonic breaks the boxes by jumping onto them. We go back underground where there are more lava falling and lava all over the floor. Sonic carries me and he breaks the box that has a picture of lots of little shiny things on it. Sonic has the shiny things all over him. He jumps on the lava and quickly runs across it. The shiny things make Sonic invincible. The spikes don't hurt him and even the bad guys get defeated very quickly. But this power up doesn't last long and it disappears after a while. We jump back outside where we turn the sign and jump into the big gold rings.
We are in the colourful place again. This one looks like it will be difficult to get to the colourful gem. I watch as Sonic jumps all over the place. I also see round red things that say goal. I think that will take Sonic back out. Going through this place must be very hard since it keeps spinning around. And those round star things might push Sonic to the wrong place. Sonic collect the colourful gem that was hiding in the shiny square things.
After that…I don't really remember. I keep looking up, down, left and right. I look again; up, down, left and right. I look again but this time quicker; up, down, left and right. I think I hear a ring sound. I look at Sonic and then I look around. Sonic has already made it to the end of this place.
Robotnik is in the round machine as he flies in. "Don't think you can beat me, Sonic! I will get all the Chaos Emeralds and then I can do whatever I want, hahahahahahaha!"
Chaos Emeralds? That must be the colourful gems. Robotnik attacks us by firing fire onto the floor. This causes the fire to spread all over the floor. Sonic jumps over to the other platform to avoid the attack. Robotnik then flies over to where Sonic is. Sonic attacks Robotnik by jumping at the round machine that Robotnik is in. Robotnik fires another fire this time at the platform that Sonic is on. Luckily, the other platform that was on fire is all clear. Sonic jumps back onto that platform to avoid the fire. He has to jump over the jumping fireballs that jump out of the lava. Robotnik flies over to Sonic to fire more fires at Sonic and the platform. Sonic jumps and attacks Robotnik's round machine then jumps back to the other platform to avoid the fires. They keep doing this until Robotnik is defeated. I laugh again when I see how burned Robotnik's face is when his round machine blows up. He flies away and we go to free the animals in the machine.
The next place looks fun. It's full of shiny things and it looks fun to play in. There're lots of round star things that will push us in any directions. I hear fun music in the background. I slide down a hill and jump over the spring. A round robot quickly rolls toward me. He stops and opens up. He looks weird. Sonic beats that robot before he can hurt me. I don't remember much about this place. I remember jumping across moving big spike balls and bouncing around the place because of the round star things. I also remember Sonic collecting two more of the Chaos Emeralds. I think back on what I said to Sonic when we collected all the Chaos Emeralds:
"We need all the Chaos Emeralds to stop Robotnik," I said to Sonic after he collected a Chaos Emerald.
Sonic gave me a thumb up to say that I was right and then held up six of his fingers.
"There are six Chaos Emeralds?" I asked Sonic. I saw Sonic smiling at me to show that I was right. I counted the Chaos Emeralds that Sonic collected. "We got all of them!" I was happy to see that we got all the Chaos Emeralds. Now we can stop Robotnik's evil plan.
I shake out of my thinking as I hear Robotnik shouting, "Why are you always getting in my way?! All I am doing is making an army of robots using your animal friends I have captured. Is that so wrong?!"
I look to Sonic to see him giving Robotnik an angry look. I copy Sonic; I fold my arms, tapping one of my fingers onto my arm, tapping one of my feet on the ground and give Robotnik an angry look.
"Oh right, it is wrong," Robotnik says when he looks at us. "Well too bad, I do whatever I want!" Robotnik starts attacking by falling down on top of Sonic with a spike at the bottom of his round machine. "And I'll start by getting rid of you, you pesky hedgehog!"
Sonic is too fast for him, he runs away as Robotnik drops onto the floor box. Robotnik takes the floor box that gets stuck on the spike. He flies back up and breaks the floor box. I look through the hole to see that it's a long way down. We must beat him quick or else we won't have any floor left and we will fall down. Sonic hits Robotnik's round machine when he drops down. We beat him just in time. We jump over the holes in the floor and free the animals from the machine.
I don't remember this place. I know it's full of water. I am scared as we nearly drown in this place. Sonic uses the bubble to get air. He gets me to use the bubble. I don't like this place. It is very hard to find our way through this place. The only thing I like about this place is the water slide. It is fun sliding on the water. The only problem is that we keep sliding all over the place. We need to find a way out. Sonic finds a button that opens the next area. I notice Sonic doesn't look happy, I think it's because of the water.
When we face Robotnik, he is running away upward in his round machine. We chase after him. Head statues fire fireballs at us and there are pointed sticks that come out of the walls. The water starts to go up. We have to quickly go up or else we will be underwater and drown. We make it to the top where Robotnik flies away. We free the animals from the machine.
I like this place much better, it has a relaxing music to it and the stars are beautiful outside. The only problem is the bad guys in this place like the dangerous bombs that blow up into four dangerous little balls. And then there're the little robots that have spike balls around them. We have to wait for them to throw the spike balls before we can defeat them. We also get stuck because fans keep blowing us away. Once the fans stop, we run past them.
To defeat Robotnik, we need to use the three see-saws. Sonic uses them to jump high enough to hit Robotnik's round machine. I use the see-saws to throw the spike balls back at Robotnik. Robotnik attacks us by dropping the spike balls on the see-saws. The spike balls will blow up soon and they blow up into four dangerous little balls. We free the animals when we beaten Robotnik.
This place is full of machines. There are machines everywhere, dangerous machines. We have to be careful not to get crush by the big moving machines. There are also dangerous round sharp things that run across the floor. Fires come out of the floor and the top. And there are bad guys that try to stop us. Inside this place is more dangerous. There are more dangerous things like the machines that shoot lightning and there are even more bad guys. I think I see a face in the background. When we finish with this place, we move forward to face off with Robotnik. I don't like the look on Robotnik's face. He looks so happy.
"You can't get me Sonic. You can't break through this. Now this is where we say goodbye for good!" Robotnik shouts. He jumps on the button which causes the floor we are on to fall down.
We fall down in what looks like the place full of water. I don't like this. Sonic presses a button to make the platform moves down. We go down where we press another button to open the path below us. We have to go underwater to reach Robotnik. I look at Sonic to see that he isn't happy. Sonic does not like the water at all. Me and Sonic can't swim. We hold our breath and quickly move through this very dangerous place full of traps. We use the spring at the end of this place to jump up to where Robotnik is.
We run over to where we see four big machines, two on the bottom and two on the top. Any two of these machines will pop out and try to crush us. Robotnik is inside one of these machines when they pop out. He laughs at us from inside the machine. Sonic jump attacks the machine that Robotnik is in. Ha, take that Robotnik! Robotnik doesn't look too happy when he gets hit. After the machines go back in, the red machines at the top fire four laser-like balls. The laser-like balls then go toward Sonic. Sonic dodges them by jumping through the small space between the laser-like balls. Robotnik attacks us again by making two of the machines pop out. He is trying to crush Sonic. It's very hard to hit Robotnik as we don't know which machines he will be in. Sometime, Robotnik will be at the far end and Sonic can't reach him because the other machine is in his way. After hitting Robotnik's machines several times, the whole machines blow up. Robotnik escapes by jumping out of the machine to our right. He runs to his round machine and starts to fly away.
"Get him!" I shout.
Sonic jumps and hits the round machine just as Robotnik is getting away. Robotnik gets away with a burned face due to the round machine blowing up.
We go back to the first place with the green grass and trees. All the animals are happy that Sonic freed them. They are all jumping for joy. Sonic uses the Chaos Emeralds which make this place better. Sonic is so happy that he jumps up for joy. I am very happy that we beat the bad guy. I say goodbye to Sonic. Sonic gives me a thumb up and smiles at me. I give Sonic the thumb up and smile back. I go across the place until the portal shows up and takes me home.
It's the first Sonic the Hedgehog game I ever played. It's Sonic the Hedgehog on the Megadrive. I was going to have Sonic talking like in the cartoon 'the Adventure of Sonic the Hedgehog' but I decided to based him on Sonic Generations where he doesn't talk. Also, I couldn't finish the game because it was too hard for me. I was only able to get past the first two zones. I can finish the game now but back then it was very difficult. I found out about this cheat that lets you select the stages and listen to music. I can't remember how I found it, was it the video game show...or maybe the video game magazine?
