Chapter 3: Thunder Strangers: Part 1

Laying on a towel, drying off, Dee looked over at the voice hailing them, "Isn't that Lexi? Hunter and Blake's sister?"

Liz followed her friend's gaze, "Yeah, it is." She raised a hand and waved the new girl over, "Hey, Lexi. What's up?"

The blonde walked over in a black and gold swim suit and board shorts, carrying a gold surfboard with a large black dragonfly on it, "Nothing much. I was surfing on the other side, but decided to head in. Got tired of the chauvinistic comments on the water. Didn't feel like dealing with it."

"Yeah, the guys out here are idiots." Liz look around, "No brothers?"

"Nah, they're probably at the track. I ride too, but they get too competitive. It's not always fun being around them."

"Really? What do you ride?"

"125s. I don't have the strength to do 250s."

"That's cool. I ride 125s, too. Dustin's really easy going, so it's easy riding with him."

Liz smirked, "You're faster than him and you're a freestyle rider."

"That's because I'm smaller than him and I don't attempt to get so much air on my jumps."

"Nice." Lexi smiled, "It'll be good to ride with another female. I am constantly surrounded by guys; I'm going insane."

"What else do you do?" Dee asked, curious.

"I rollerblade and do a little skateboarding."

"Shut up!" The two friends exclaimed, "That's crazy."

"Why?"

"We both surf and rollerblade."

"Serious?"

"Yep. We also do BMX," Dee she pointed to Liz, "and she skateboards."

"Okay. You two are now my new best friends."

The girls sat there talking for a few hours before Liz and Dee's morphers went off, "What was that?" Lexi looked around, trying to find the noise.

"Um, that was our alarms. We've got to head out." The two girls stood up and gathered their stuff, "Um, want to catch up later? Maybe meet at the skate park?"

"I'd love to." She pulled out a piece of paper and wrote on it, "Here is my cell number. Let me know when you want to get together."

"Thanks, Lexi. Call you soon, okay?"

After they got some distance away, the girls put their stuff behind some rocks and answered their morphers, "Hey, Cam. Sorry. We had to get away from a crowd. What's up?"

"The others need you in the quarry. They've just been attacked by two new Rangers."

"What?" The girls shared a look, "We're on our way."

"Ready?"

"Ready!"

"SPECTRE STORM!"

"RANGER FORM, HA!"

"Power of Light!"

"Power of Shadows!"

They morphed and Ninja-streaked towards the Quarry just in time to see another Red and Blue Ranger fighting the Wind Rangers.

"Um, seriously?" The girls pulled out their staffs and streaked down just as the bad Rangers knocked their friends down with their own staffs. They landed in front of the three on the ground brandied their staffs at the two advancing Darker Rangers, "Stop right there!"

"What's this?" The one in the dark red inclined his head, "You're not Wind Rangers."

"No, duh, dummy." Dee rolled her eyes, "Gee, they must not care too much about brains over at your academy."

The smaller of the two pointed at the girls, "The Spectre Academy. I thought that was a myth. Didn't think we'd ever meet one, much less two." He turned to his friend, "If what I've read about their academy is true, we might want to be careful."

"Oh I get it, this is a training thing, isn't it?" Shane asked as he got to his feet.

"Cam, you got us," Tori smiled nervously.

"I think this for real," Dustin shook his head.

"Alright, ready?" the Crimson one asked the shorter Ranger.

"Yeah," the Navy Ranger replied, and the two lifted a hand each. Coloured energy began to shine, before they suddenly darted off.

"Where'd they go?" Shane demanded as he looked around.

"Really far away...if we're lucky..." Dustin gulped as they stood together.

"We're not that lucky." Dee lowered her staff and turned toward her brother, "Are you okay? Sorry we didn't get here sooner. We were at the beach when Cam called. It took too long to get out of the crowd without anyone seeing us."

"No worries. Doubt you would have made a difference."

"I don't know, dude." Shane rubbed his head, "Did you see them hesitate when they realized what academy they go to?"

"Nobody messes with Spectre Ninjas." Liz crossed her arms, "They're not that stupid."

"Um, okay." Tori nodded, not really understanding, "We need to talk to Sensei."

Back at Ninja Ops the three Wind Rangers bombarded their teacher with questions about the two new Rangers as the two Spectre Rangers just leaned on the table next to Cam. Sensei finally let loose a loud whistle, cutting his students off.

"One at a time."

"Sensei, who were those guys?" Shane spoke first before the other two could.

"Thunder Ninjas." Liz said, examining her nails. When silence followed, she looked up to see her teammates, except Dee, looking at her weirdly, "What?"

"How do you know that?" She turned to her brother, "Shane, we were at our school for three years. And, we're at the top of our class. We know of every Academy that exists. Including the ones outside of the country. And only a few of those schools have morphers."

"And all the ones outside of the country are untouchable." Dee pipped up, "That's why Lothor struck here first. Get through these schools and the morphers, the rest is easy."

"It's also why you haven't gotten any help from any other school. They stay apart for a reason. Apart and hidden. It's for their protection."

The Wind Rangers turned toward Sensei, "They are correct. Their fighting style is very unique and only taught at the Thunder Academy. I however, know nothing about them."

"I really thought Lothor had captured all the other Ninja schools." Dustin frowned, "Now, there's not only the Spectre Academy and this Thunder Academy, but many other schools outside of the US? That's insane, dude. My head hurts." Dee leaned over patted him on the head, "Thanks, sis. Always a comfort."

"You're welcome."

"Could Lothor have turned the Thunder Rangers against us?" Tori asked curious, "To fight fire with fire?"

"Their fire is from deep within. Even Lothor cannot be driving them to attack with such passion."

"Could they be under a spell?" Dee asked, looking at Liz, "I mean, it wouldn't be the first time a Power Ranger was put under an evil spell." She looked at her brother, "You know Ranger stuff as much as I do. You know this."

"It's possible. Spells wouldn't really be Lothor's thing. They could be brainwashed. Maybe."

"You know what? I don't really care what their problem is." Dustin shook his head. "All I know is, those dudes almost smoked us."

"Yeah, but they didn't." Shane reminded them. "And I want to know why."

"Well, maybe, smoking you…" Liz smirked at the glare her brother threw at her, "smoking us, isn't what they want. Maybe there's something more to it."

"Like what?"

"How should I know? Am I in their head?" She shook her head, "All I know, is that we've got to figure it out and fast."

As the Rangers pondered the problem that was the Thunder Ninjas, the computer began to beep again, alerting them to another foreign being.

"The quarry again?" Cam rolled his eyes as he looked up at the screen. "What? Is it like a Monster-Con over there?" he wondered aloud.

"Zurgane," Shane groaned as the screen closed in on the alien general. "Still ugly as ever."

"How can you tell? He doesn't have a face." Dee commented, confused.

"Doesn't he usually come equipped with an evil alien sidekick?" Tori frowned as she watched him wandering around.

"It could be a trap," Sensei told them as they nodded. "Use caution when engaging him."

"We always do," Shane nodded.

"Yeah, right," Cam rolled his eyes as they went to walk off.

"Ready?" Shane called, looking around.

"Ready!"

"NINJA STORM!"

"SPECTRE STORM!"

"RANGER FORM, HA!"

They streaked to the quarry and landed in front of Zurgane. "What," Shane asked, "Lothor run out of good-looking monsters?"

"If you want something done right, then you do it yourself!" Zurgane answered as he pulled out his swords, "Rangers, meet your destiny!"

"Ninja Swords," The Wind Rangers exclaimed as they got ready to fight.

"Crystal Staff."

"Onyx Staff." The girl pulled out their staffs and stood with the others.

The Wind Ninjas went in first, but The Faceless General ended up sending them to the ground. "Pathetic."

"Ok, good idea, bad result," Dustin told them.

"I'm getting sick of Power Rangers," Zurgane growled in anger, "Rangers, Rangers, Rangers! That's all I ever hear! This will teach you to disrespect me!" he said, before sending them to the ground again. "Now to finish what those imbeciles could only start."

Before he could anything more, a beam of light shot down, before making him disappear.

"Catch you later, big guy!" Shane taunted.

"That was weird." Dustin stated, confused.

"What do they want from us?" Tori asked, shaking her head.

"Nothing good." Dee muttered, as she and Liz went on high alert.

Thunder hit the ground, sending shocks over everyone. They looked over to see the Thunder Rangers walking toward them. "Here we go again." Dee smirked.

"This time, they won't be able to run away from us." Liz nodded, excited.

Tori looked at them, "What is wrong with you two?" They shrugged.

"Recognize these?" the Crimson Thunder Ranger asked as two bikes appeared in front of them. One in Navy and one in Crimson.

"No!"

"Dude!"

"No, way!"

"Yes, way." The Navy Ranger mocked.

The Crimson Ranger laughed as they got back on the bikes, "But ours come with a few improvements."

"How is it that they got bikes before us?" Dee complained, staring at the duo.

"Ready to ride?"

"I've been ready."

"Okay. Let's show these posers how it's done!"

"Posers?" Liz frowned, looking at Dee. Before she could say anything more, the Thunders sped forward, shooting lasers others, sending them to the ground.

"I can't believe they stole Cam's disk!" Dustin yelled in disbelief.

"Yeah," Tori agreed, "but how?"

"This is so easy, it's almost boring," the Crimson Ranger complained as they dismounted and walked towards them.

"I thought they'd at least put up a fight," the Navy Ranger sighed, shaking his head.

"Those guys never could compete with the Thunder Ninja Academy," the one in Crimson mocked. "They're so lame," he stopped a little way from them.

"No doubt," the Navy Ranger agreed as he walked towards the other Ranger. "I thought their Sensei taught them better than this," he smirked.

"You haven't actually tried us out yet." Dee called out, stepping forward with Liz. "Talking bad about another academy is really just bad form."

"I agree." Liz said, holding up her staff, "But, if you don't like the Wind Academy, let's see how you do against the Spectre Academy."

"We don't play with little girls." The Crimson Ranger growled, turning back toward the Wind Ranger, "You're not who we're here for anyways."

"Well, that's just too bad." The girl's staffs lit up as they sent their powers into them. A multitude of image of each girl surrounded the two Thunders, confusing them.

"Wait, what?" Crimson turned in a circled, trying to figure out what was going on.

"Which ones are the real ones?" Navy asked, just as confused.

All of a sudden, blades of light and shadows shot out of the circle, sending the two Thunders to the ground. "Whoa!" The Wind Rangers stood there in shock and awe, "How did they…"

The mirages stopped, with both girls still in the same position that they started with, "Are you ready to end this?"

"Oh, it is definitely time to finish this." The Crimson Ranger decided, and they held out their morphers, which resembled insects. "Sky of wonder..."

"Get back!" Dee and Liz shouted, knowing what was fixing to happen.

"Power of Thunder!" the Navy Ranger finished. Lightning flashed and thunder boomed, and they were surrounded in smoke as the lightning hit the ground around them.

"That does not look good," Tori groaned as they got back to their feet.

"Crimson Insectizord!"

"Navy Beetlezord!" two Zords burst into view.

"You've got to be kidding me," Tori spoke, having run over to the other two girls.

"They have Zords?!" Dustin groaned in disbelief.

"This is getting ridiculous!" Shane growled.

"Again, where's ours?" Dee complained, looking up.

"Later days!" the Thunder Ninjas leapt up into their Zords. "By the time this is over, we'll be the last Ninja Rangers on the planet. So, let's stay focused."

"They want to play rough?" Shane growled. "We're all about rough! Cam hit it!" he contacted the genius, who sent them their Zords.

"Liz. Dee. We found your Zords."

"Yes!" The girls looked up as a White Crane Zord and a Black Owl Zord flew forward, "Let's get this started." They jumped into their cockpits, ready to fight.

"Let's show these impostors who's who in the Zord Zoo," Shane encourage the others as the battle between the Zords started. Shane seemed to gain the upper hand at first, but the Insectizord suddenly burst out of a rock and blasted him, nearly knocking the Hawk Zord out of the sky. The Beetlezord caught Dustin, who cried out as he was trapped.

Dustin managed to blast the Navy Ranger's Zord off him, but the Beetlezord disappeared before grabbing Tori's Dolphin Zord. Dee's Crane flew in and clamped it claws onto the Beetlezord's back, lifting into the air and throwing into a mountain. Liz's Owl came down in a black tornado, shooting the Insectizord back, landing on top of it's partner.

The Wind Rangers quickly formed the Megazord when they saw the Thunders regroup and form their own. The two Megazords began fighting, with Dee and Liz trying to get the occasional shot in.

"Kind of wish we could come together for a better fight!" Dee complain, ducking a swipe from the Thunderzord. The Wind Rangers called on their Serpent Sword, but it didn't even seem to faze the Megazord when it struck it. They summoned a Power Sphere, and judging from the yells from their team-mates, the girls assumed that it was stolen from them. With a couple of quick slices, the Thunder Megazord defeated the Megazord by sending them flying back into the Spectre Zords, making them crash to the ground.

"Now time to do a little touchdown dance on their head," Crimson told his partner.

"We've knocked out their Zords. That's enough…" Navy stated, "For now."

"Come in, Shane." Cam called, "Tori! Dustin! Liz! Dee!"

To be continued…
