Chapter 5: Thunder Strangers: Part 3
"See, I knew there was something up with Blake and Hunter!" Shane said as he and Dustin stood behind Cam's chair.
"Dude, you don't need to say, 'I told you so,' okay," Dustin retorted, "I mean, I feel bad enough already."
"That's them," Cam announced, pointing at the computer monitor. "My father enclosed himself in an energy sphere before he was captured. It'll protect him and allow us to track his location within a twenty-five-mile radius."
"But he can't transform or use his Ninja Powers, can he?" Shane asked.
"No," Cam told them, "And he's about to go out of range."
"Why are they taking him out there to the middle of the forest," Dustin asked in confusion.
"Found it!" Tori said behind them. She was reading a scroll from one of the book shelves, "The Mountain of Lost Ninjas."
Cam snapped his fingers, "Of course."
"Oh, that's where all those freaky ninja ghost dudes are right?" Dustin asked.
"So, you do study your Ninja history?" Cam asked sarcastically.
Dustin nodded, "Yeah, sometimes."
"Then you should know that the Mountain of Lost Ninja's is where the Cavern of Spirits is." Cam continued.
"Which houses the Gem of Souls," Tori continued, "It's the only thing powerful enough on Earth that can break the energy sphere surrounding Sensei.
"That's got to be what the Thunders are after," Cam concluded.
Liz and Dee, who had stopped their sparring to listen, walked over, "I wonder why Lexi isn't with them." Liz crossed her arms, "She only showed up to fight Amphibidor."
"And she wasn't with them when they took Sensei." Dee nodded, "Hunter said she wasn't part of this. Maybe she doesn't approve of what they're doing."
"Only one way to find out."

As the Bradley brothers walked through the forest, the only sound that could be heard was their steps on the ground.
"I don't know about you, bro," Black said nervously, "but I'm not really digging this place."
Hunter, carrying Sensei, smirked, "Don't be such a baby! You'll start sounding like Lexi."
"I'll remember to tell her you said that."
"You should be afraid, Thunder Rangers," said Sensei from within the sphere, "There are spirits here of the darkest warriors the world has ever known."
"Quiet!" Hunter snapped. "We know what we're doing!"
"Have you not learned that taking revenge on one that has caused you no harm, makes you as guilty as the one who hurt you to begin with?" Sensei tried to reason.
Hunter stopped and looked down, "You destroyed our Parents," he said, "Parents who adopted us and gave us a life! You deserve everything that is coming to you!"
Sensei just shook his head knowing these Rangers were being misled.

"Tracking systems are online," Cam announced, as the four rangers stood morphed in the back of the Mobile Command Center.
"How long until we get there?" Dustin asked.
"I told you to go before we left Ninja Ops," Cam retorted.
"That's not what I'm asking," Dustin told him, "I'm just freaking here."
Dee looked over at him, "Don't worry, bro. We'll get Sensei. Together."
"You think I'd get into too much trouble if I shoved Hunter's head into a rock?"
Shane looked over at his sister in shock, "Seriously? Violent much?"
"Let's see," She started ticking off her fingers, "they faked friendship to get close to us, used Tori to get into Ninja Ops, broke in and kidnapped Sensei." She rolled her eyes, "Personally, I don't think I'm getting violent enough."
Shane just shrugged before looking over at Tori, who was sitting on her bike looking sad.
"Hey Tori," He called, getting her attention, "It wasn't your fault, you know."
"Well, then whose fault was it?" Tori asked.
"You were just doing what you thought was right," Dee told her, "it could have happened to anyone of us."
"She's right, you know." Liz continued, "Besides, they would have found it, no matter what. If Blake hadn't gotten hurt, and I think that was real, I think they would have eventually just followed here. They were just biding their time."
Cam walked over to them. "This is as far as I go. The rest is up to you. Please find my Father?" He asked.
They all nodded as they got on their bikes. "Don't worry, Cam. I promise you; we'll bring him home." Dee reassured him, clapping her hand on his shoulder. They shared a smiled, making Liz cough in her hand to get their attention, "Sorry." She revved her engine and ducked her head, avoiding her brother's inquisitive look.
"All right guys, let's go!" Shane told them. They all revved their engines and took off down the ramp, one at a time to find their missing Sensei.

"How much further?" Blake complained as they walked into a clearer part of the forest.
"Nearly there," Hunter told him as they looked around.
"Did you hear that?" Blake asked nervously.
"Yeah..." Hunter's voice was more controlled. Suddenly they were surrounded. The brothers looked to each other, "Ok, bro?" Blake asked. Hunter set down the orb in front of him slowly, and they got ready to morph.
"THUNDER STORM, RANGER FORM, HA!"
"Power of Thunder!" they morphed into their Crimson and Navy suits, and the dead Ninjas shot at them. Hunter grabbed the Sphere before ducking under a kick as he punched a ghoul and flipped him over.
Meanwhile, Blake, who was not carrying anything, flipped over the ghouls he was fighting and elbowed on away and continued battling the ghouls.
"They just keep coming!" Shouted Hunter. They tried, but it seemed like they were surrounded. The ghouls had swarmed around them. "What now?" Hunter grunted as he struggled to break free.
"Put me down, I said!" Sensei told him, but he was ignored. Suddenly the ghosts were blasted out of the way by a series of lasers, and the Thunders looked over to see Shane, Tori, Dustin, Dee and Liz riding into view.
"Coming through," Shane announced.
They came to a halt in front of the Thunder Rangers, who were shocked to see them.
"Whoa! Who do we fight?" Dustin looked around in confusion.
"Anyone not wearing a primary color?" Shane suggested as he looked around at the Thunder Ninjas.
Liz gapped, "Big brother or not," She jumped off of her back and started fighting. "I will sick Dee on you, Shane!"
"Please don't." Shane begged, avoiding the glare his ex sent him, "How about, anyone not wearing a primary color, besides Liz and Dee!"
"Thank you!" The two girls yelled, kicking back creature that had come at them.
"Good plan," Tori nodded, only to be tackled off her bike. The group began to fight off the dead ninjas.
"This is crazy," Liz was thrown into a tree by a ghoul. She looked up just in time to see Dustin ride past Hunter on his Tsunami Cycle and take the energy sphere from him.
"Hello, I'll take that." When Dustin got away from Hunter, he looked down at Sensei, "You okay?"
Dee sighed as Blake came in and took Sensei from Dustin. Then it became a game of keep away with the energy sphere. Liz caught Sensei when he went flying her way, before Blake shoved her off her feet once more and grabbed Sensei as she dropped him. With their attention divided, the ghouls were able to get the ninjas surrounded.
"These guys are fearless!" Shane complained.
"They're dead, it's not like they have a lot to lose," Tori reminded him as they were all pressed together. Liz tried to grab the ninjas and force them away, but she was just pushed back into Dee, who was having the same problem.
"So that would be the glass half-empty, right?" Dustin commented.
"Back off!" Hunter yelled.
"News flash!" Liz snarked, "They're dead. I don't even know if they can hear you!"
Hunter just rolled is eyes at her, before turning back to the problem at hand.
"How about a truce?" Shane asked, "Let's do this together?"
"Fine by me." Hunter answered, "But only for now."
"God forbid Power Rangers willingly work together." Dee muttered, pumping fist with Liz as the fight continued.
Hunter teamed up with Shane, leaving Tori, Dustin and Blake together. As everyone was fighting, it seemed like more and more ghouls were showing up. They continued to defend themselves, but it seemed like there was nothing they could do.
Liz had had enough, "Ready for some Eclipse Power?" She asked, looking at her partner.
"You bet." Dee nodded, looking around at the others, "Everyone down!" The others looked over for a moment and ducked, covering their heads. "Ready?"
"Ready."
"Quintessence!" Dee called, gathering a large form of energy in her hands. "Nova Lumina!"
"Nebuloses!" Liz copied her, "Obscura Materia!"
They shot out the energy, sending a yin and yang color of light and dark out at the dead ninjas, turning them to dust. A moment of silence and the two girls dusted their hands and turned back to the ones on the ground, who was staring at them in shocked awe.
"Please don't ask us to do that again." Liz said, shaking her arms.
"Yeah." Dee agreed, rubbing her own, "Those are really advanced techniques and they take a lot out of you. They're only to be used in extreme circumstances.
"Those were extreme." Liz help Shane off the ground, who just continued to stare at his sister in shock, "And you need a full bar of energy for that. It's dangerous on all involved."
Blake, deciding enough was enough, suddenly flipped Dustin and pushed Tori out of the way. Hunter took out Shane and grabbed Sensei before anyone else could.
"Let's go," he nodded to his brother, Sensei secured under his arm, and the two Ninja-streaked away. They caught up to them in the quarry, and both teams of Rangers faced off.
"Why are you doing this?" Dustin demanded as he got back to his feet.
"Simple. Revenge," Hunter told them, before the ground shook.
"What now?" Liz asked as they all looked up as a Zord appeared, and Zurgane laughed from inside.
"Zurgane!"
"Who gave him the keys to a Zord?" Dustin demanded as he looked up with a frown.
"That'll keep them busy," Hunter nodded to Blake, and they took off with Sensei again. Tori stayed to take on Zurgane while Shane, Dustin, Dee and Liz pursued the Thunder Ninjas.
"Give me that ball!" Dustin yelled, leaping into the air, but Blake knocked him out of the sky before he could reach Hunter. Dee caught him before he could hit the ground. Shane went after Hunter, though Blake intercepted. After Dustin knocked Sensei out of Hunters hands, he went flying before Liz caught him.
"What?" Hunter asked in shock.
"Sorry, Thunder Boy." Liz taunted as she ran over to where Dustin was. "Are you ok Sensei?" she asked.
"Yes, I am fine. Behind you." Sensei warned. She looked in time to see Hunter coming at her. She held him off as long as she could, she was holding Sensei after all, before she was finally tackled to the ground. She rolled along the sand of a beach, groaning. The Thunder Ninjas stood over her, demorphed and scowling.
"If these were different circumstances…" Hunter trailed off as he crouched down and pulled Sensei's orb from her hands, "Well, who knows." He shook his head and left.
"You okay?" Dee, Shane and Dustin asked as they helped Liz up.
"Yeah," She answered, "I just wish I knew why they were doing this!" Her mind stuck on his comment, and the sad look on is face.
"Well, let's go find out!" Shane said, and they took off after the Thunders.

Hunter and Blake walked down a beach looking for the Cavern of Lost Souls.
"The Ninja Spirits sense our presence," Sensei spoke.
They ignored him as they looked around until they saw what they were looking for.
"The cavern," Blake spotted the cavern nearby.
"Consider what you are about to do carefully," Sensei warned them. "There are powerful forces here," the two just ignored him and walked into the cavern. They walked through the dark cave, before coming to an open spot, where a glowing green gem sat. "Quiet," Hunter ordered, "the Gem of Souls will take care of you."
They walked to an alter where the Gem was. Hunter grabbed it and placed the Sphere in the same place the Gem was. He lifted over his head, and was about to strike when the other Rangers showed up.
"No!" Shane's yell of panic made them look around quickly. "Put it down. Sensei didn't do anything."
"Lothor told us everything!" Hunter told them.
"Your Sensei destroyed our parents!" Blake continued.
"Lothor saw the whole thing!" Hunter nodded as he lowered the Gem.
"And you believed him?" Liz asked, incredulous, shaking her head.
"Why shouldn't we?"
"Well dude, he's not exactly known for being one of the good guys," Dustin pointed out.
"You think?" Dee muttered beside him, but Hunter just shook his head in denial and lifted the Gem again.
"We're done talking," he told them.
"No!" Tori cried out and they ran forwards, before a voice spoke out.
"Put it down, Hunter." A voice called out, making everyone stop and look up.
They saw to ghostly figures reach up and pull of the hoods they were wearing.
"Who are you?" Shane asked.
"Mom? Dad? How did you-"
"This is the Mountain of Lost Ninjas, we'll be here for all eternity," the man told them.
"Because of him, right?" Blake growled as he looked to Sensei.
"No Blake," the woman shook her head. "He's not responsible for what happened to us," she told them softly.
"Well then, who is?!" Hunter demanded desperately.
"The one they call Lothor," the man revealed, taking them by surprise.
"Shocking," Liz said, sarcastically.
"They're fading," Hunter breathed as the two spirits began to disappear.
"We'll always be looking after you," their mother smiled to them as she lifted her hood to cover her face again.
"Make us proud," their father spoke before they disappeared.
"What a sight," they all looked around to see Lothor. "The Thunder Rangers crying for their mommy," he mocked with a smirk. "My ears were burning, you've been talking about me, haven't you?" he grinned.
"It was you all along!" Hunter snarled as he pushed ahead of the others. "You lied to us!"
"Not the brightest bulbs on the tree, are you?" Lothor raised an eyebrow at the Crimson Ranger. "Now give me the hamster. We've got business to attend to," he ordered.
"Actually, dude, he's a guinea pig," Dustin corrected the evil ninja.
"And we're not giving him to you," Shane snarled at him.
Lothor frowned as he looked at the group, "You're missing one." He smirked at the Thunders, "Let me guess, little sister was smarter than you?"
"Smarter than you." A voice called out before he was kicked from behind and shoved into the wall, "What's that matter? Scared of a little girl?" Lexi taunted as she walked over and stood between her brothers, "And you're the Great Evil. Pathetic."
"I'll show you pathetic when I've destroyed the Wind Academy and took over the world." He growled, "Now, if you won't hand him over, I'll just have to take him."
"Uh, hello? Lots of us, and one of you," Tori smirked, and Lothor rolled his eyes.
"Oh please," he scoffed, and blasted them with his dark energy.
"Stand back!" Hunter rolled in the way of the attack and held up the Gem, which blasted the attack back. Lothor cried out as it hit him, and he disappeared in a flash of bright light.
"What happened?" Tori asked.
"Good question," Liz agreed.
"Dude, you nailed Lothor!" Dustin exclaimed in shock.
"How did you do that?" Shane asked.
Hunter opened his hand to reveal the now shattered Gem of Souls. "The Gem of Souls...it's broken," Hunter frowned at them. "I used it to protect us, but it shattered," he explained as the green light faded.
"That's bad, right?" Dustin asked them.
"For better or worse, the power of the Gem cannot be destroyed," they all looked around at Sensei as the orb around him faded.
"Speaking of power, what happened to Lothor?" Tori asked curiously.
"I suspect that he is very much alive, and, I fear, more desperate than ever," Sensei replied.
"And as much as I loath him," Lexi smirked as she turned to her brothers, "he got one thing right. I never liked him and I never trusted him. I tried to tell both of you that he was full of crap. But would you listen? Nooo." She threw up her hands in frustration, "I mean, come on. Evil Space Ninja bent on taking over the world. Why would you listen to him?"
"Ream us about it later, please." Hunter sighed, exhausted.
"Yeah, dude. Enough." Blake pleaded, "We'll let you beat on us."
"Let me?" She squawked in outrage.
"Um, guys? Can we get out of here before this becomes a family in this haunted cavern? This place is giving me the creeps," Shane looked around the damp cavern as they all left.
