Disclaimer- Sadly I don't any of the characters! I wish I did! sighs
Author's Note-The basic outline of my story was from the story that I wrote for my English class. I changed things of course so it will adapt to the law and order world. Hope you like it!
Chapter One
In a hospital full of noises you could hear the scream of a daughter wanting her father to stay alive.
"Flat line," the doctor said. "Get the crash cart," he ordered a nurse.
"What's happening? What's going on?" Alex asked. It was her scream that pierced the hospital.
"I don't know yet. He might have suffered another stroke. Paddles!" the doctor said loudly. "Charge to 200 jewels!"
"Charged," a nurse said.
"Clear!" the doctor shocked the man on the bed. "Still no rhythm. Start CPR and charge to 250!" A nurse stated CPR while another charged the paddles to 250.
"Charged," the nurse said.
"Clear," the doctor said shocking the man yet again. It was a scene all too familiar.
"Let's intubate him." The doctor said. Another doctor, a bit younger, inserted a tube into his mouth and hooked the man up to a ventilator.
Minutes had passed and there was still now change. The doctor knew he had to call time of death but looking at Alex and her family he decided to try one last time to revive the man
"Charge to 360" the doctor said in a flat tone. The nurse looked at him questioningly. She knew that there was little hope that the man on the bed would come back to life but still she charged the paddles to 360.
"Charged,"
"Clear," the doctor. He shocked the man one last time; still no pulse. The doctor started to call time of death when the heart monitor started to beep.
"Daddy!" Alex rushed to her father's side but was pushed away by the doctors and nurses and held back by her partner.
"We need to get an MRI on your father to find out if he had another stroke!" the doctor said while exiting the room quickly.
"No!" Alex shouted.
"Eames calm down! There's nothing you can do" Bobby said to his partner whom he had let go from his grasp.
"Don't you dare tell me to calm down. You don't know what it's like to watch your father almost die! He was always there for me. You don't know what its like," she said harshly. She knew what she said was insensitive but at that moment she didn't care. All she cared about was her father.
