"Stupid… Uncle… Chrom," Zephyra grumbled as she roughly washed the army's pile of laundry from yesterday. "Stupid... dirty laundry! Stupid everything!"
"Hey," Ananias fully greeted. "Watcha doing?"
Zephyra scowled at him. "Chrom told me that since I ditched out on doing the laundry yesterday, I had to do twice the amount of laundry today to make up for it," she answered. She gave Ananias an angry pout. "It's not fair!"
"Actually -"
"Don't you dare!" Zephyra cried, pointing a threatening finger at him.
Ananias simply shrugged. "Alright then, I won't."
Zephyra stuck her tongue out at him, revealing the Mark of the Exalt on her tongue, before grumpily getting back to doing the camp's laundry. "So... what about you? What wonderful chore have you had the pleasure of being assigned today?"
Ananias awkwardly rubbed the the back of his neck before answering, "Well, the thing is..."
Zephyra stopped what she was doing and eyed him curiously. "Hmm?"
"The thing is," Ananias continued, "Chrom gave me the day off."
"What?!" Zephyra cried.
Ananias nodded. "Yeah. He said that he appreciated everything that I did around here, so he told me to take the day off."
"And you, out of all people, accepted this?!" Zephyra cried out incredulously.
"Well, I wasn't going to, but I guess he knew that I'd refuse it and told me that the day off was an order and that I wasn't allowed to help anyone out for the rest of the day, so," he shrugged, "here I am."
Zephyra gaped at him before shaking her head. "Unbelievable," she said in disgust. "You don't even know what to do on a day off, do you?"
Ananias blushed as he shook his head. "No, not really."
Zephyra flung her arms into the air. "Well great! That's just great! Here I am, being forced to abandon all of my plans for today and do double the work, and then I find out that my friend has been given a day off... and he doesn't even know what to do with it!"
"You don't have to rub it in," Ananias muttered.
"But it's just not fair!" Zephyra whined. She went back to washing the laundry. "I was the one with plans today, not you!" she grumbled.
Ananias nodded. "Yeah, I guess that IS a bit inconvenient," he admitted. "Do you want me to meet up with your date so that I can tell him that you can't make it today?"
"I'm sorry, but you're not supposed to be taking request today, remember?" Zephyra snapped.
Ananias blinked. "Oh, yeah, sorry." An awkward pause came between the two of them before Ananias said, "I'm just going to do that anyway. Isn't really fair to your date, you know?"
Zephyra let out an exasperated sigh. "Do whatever you want," Zephyra muttered. "That's what days off are for."
"Oh... okay." Ananias was about to leave, but stopped himself just in time to go back and ask, "Do you want me to bring you anything, or...?"
Zephyra wearily sighed. "Really, Annie-Bear? Is it really THAT hard for you go a day without doing something for someone else?"
Ananias lightly blushed. "W-Well, I mean..."
Zephyra groaned. "Just go," she said, waving her hand as she did before Ananias nodded and made his leave. She let out another sigh after he had gone. "Geez, teaching him to have fun is more work than doing actual work." She then thought for a moment before whispering resolutely to herself, "But gosh darn it, someone's got to do it!" She then grinned mischievously. "And that someone is going to be me!"
Author's Note: Shortest support ever? Maybe, I'm not really keeping too much of a track. Still, this seemed like the only logical next step in their interactions, so here it is. Hope you all liked it! See you next time!
