Kihimoto was asleep in his bedroom until the alarm clock woke him up, he groans as he wakes up and starts his morning routein he starts making breakfast as he waits for the toast to be done a voice asks "Good morning I hope you & Mero are getting along."

"Yeah we do" Kihimoto answered until he realises the voice doesn't belong to someone who isn't living in the house, he searches for the source of the voice and meets MS. Smith sitting across from him he gulps down as he readjusts himself "Good morning to you as well MS. Smith may I ask what are you doing here? And more importantly how did you get in?"

Smith chuckles and adjusts her sunglasses "Of course I Smith your lovely coordinator have ways to enter your house in case of emergencies" Smith says then continues "As to why I'm here it's to make sure that Mero is alright."

Kihimoto nods "Mero is fine you don't need to worry as her host it's my job to ensure her safety and happiness" he says determined while smiling, Smith chuckles as she gets Kihimoto's attention "Was it cheesy for me to say that?"

Smith shakes her head "No it's not" then her expression takes a serious tone "As a host you can also be considered dangerous."

Kihimoto gulps down nervously "In what way am I dangerous?"

"Well you're a guy and she's a girl so do the math."

Kihimoto gets confused until his eyes widens "No we're not doing any of these things I promise, while I admit Mero is beautiful, I respect her privacy and wouldn't do anything to upset her" saying the last bit determined.

Smith chuckles "I know your not that type of guy" then she takes off her glasses staring at him with her brown eyes "But how long can you keep yourself under control? After all you admitted she's beautiful not to mention the mermaids normal attire leaves little left to the imagination" saying the last bit in a dangerous whisper, Kihimoto sweats nervously as his face adopts a large shade of red, he struggles to say something which promotes Smith to laugh internally she always liked teasing people with sexual talks however the sounds of a wheelchair approaching gets both of their attention they look at the kitchens entrance revealing a sleepy Mero in her mermaid attire which doesn't help Kihimoto's case as his entire face becomes red with embarrassment which causes Smith's laughter to be heard by both of them.

"um what's going on? Why are here lady coordinator?"

Smith recovers from her laughter and explains what had occurred which causes Mero to join Kihimoto in the argument with the coordinator "Lady coordinator you should know that MR. Kurusu is not that kind of person, he's kind & caring person who respects others privacy" then she smirks dangerously "After all you chose him to be my host" Smith tries to defend herself, this statement caused Kihimoto to wonder.

"Ahem" he coughs getting both lady's attention "If the coordinator is the one choosing which host has which liminal, then why did you choose me specifically to be Mero's host? Not that I mind just curios is all."

Just for a moment Smith's professional mask slipped but immediately went back like it didn't slip at all she gains her bearings and speaks "Well I have to make a background check on hosts to ensure the liminals safety you're an average guy at best but still have lovable quirks and like I mentioned in our first meeting you do have a large house that Mero can move freely in her wheelchair not to mention you're a work loader meaning you'll be more than fine to take care of Mero" the answer was logical and made sense before he could ask what reasons Mero was seen as a good match to him the toaster binged reminding him of the breakfast the 3 of them ate their breakfast after that Smith coughs gaining back their attention "Actually there's another reason why I came here today".

"May I ask what that reason is lady coordinator?" Mero asks.

Smith nods "Yes I think you should get out more and see the neighbourhood the program isn't just about sitting around in the house you should learn human culture so you can migrate successfully into the human society."

Mero nods in understanding "So you're here to take me outside?"

Smith chuckles "No I'm quite busy so Kihimoto will have to do it after all he's your host, bye" she leaves leaving no time for arguments.

Kihimoto coughs gaining Mero's attention "So we'll be out whenever you're ready."

Mero shakes her head "Kihimoto I can't ask you to do this for me."

He shakes his head smiling "No it's okay I was thinking about showing you around, but if you don't like it, I won't force you into it."

Mero smiles 'What a kind person he's just like the prince of the little mermaid this's indeed my tragic love story' looks up to him giving an eye smile "I just need time to dress in human attire then we can leave."

After some time Kihimoto stands in the door wearing a plain white shirt along with a green jacket over it and brown pants eventually he looks at the stair way as Mero makes her way down on the stair chair having her wheelchair folded in her arms after making it down she unfolds her wheelchair and gets on it. Her attire consists of a black dress that covers her tail and the chaste piece of the dress is white on top of her head is her ever present black headband with frilled white parts but what caught Kihimoto off guard is the decoration on her neck it's non-other than his gift "Mero I'm touched you're wearing it means a lot to me."

"of course it means a lot to me too so shall we get going?" he nods, and they go out.

The 2 walked around or in their case Kihimoto was walking while pushing Mero's wheelchair they continued their trip until Mero let out a wow sound which caught Kihimoto of guard and decided to stop he gazes upon his homestay's face seeing staring somewhere off the distance, curious he follow's her stare and finds an aquarium 'Well she is a mermaid so she wants to see it not to mention it's something common between us & them' he coughs and gains Mero's attention "So do you want to go in?"

Mero's eyes shine with joy "Can we?"

Kihimoto smiles as chuckles "Of course it's not a bother, besides a friend of mine works here so I can say hi to him while we're here" the 2 go to the ticket counter until their stopped as a group of workers show up out of nowhere and lay a red carpet in front the 2 of them they stand on each side of the carpet and they kneel "Welcome lady Meroune Lorelei" they shouted, this caught Kihimoto off guard before he could ask Mero interrupts.

"Thank you all you didn't need to do this honestly" she replies in a grateful tone, she looks up to her host "Shall we begin our tour?"

Kihimoto nods deciding to ask Mero later about this treatment, they start walking around seeing fishes and all other kinds of water life around until they stop in front two fishes whom swim beside each other's and touching lips "Are these fishes kissing?" Kihimoto wonders outload.

Mero chuckles which gets him of guard "No they're boys when male fishes fight over for territory it's appears that they're kissing but that's not the case."

"Wow your pretty knowledgeable in fishes" Kihimoto praises.

"Well of course I was living with them my entire life so I picked up a thing or 2 about them" she replies with a sincere yet beautiful smile, then she started talking about all sorts of trivia regarding the other water creatures before she could continue further an angry voice as heard.

"What do you mean that idiot called in sick? Like no one thought of a backup plan?" a young man about Kihimoto's age with brown shoulder length hair with blue eyes wearing the aquariums uniform yelled in his cell phone a voice speaks through the cell phone which causes the man to rage harder "Of course I can't take over his shift I got my own workload I can't do someone else's workload especially one as grand as that" the voice of the phone continues "Okay bye."

Kihimoto looks towards the man recognizing him "Hey Minato how are you doing?"

The now named Minato looks at Kihimoto and almost all the rage leaves him "Kihimoto I'm fine, what about you?"

"I'm good."

"So are bored to the point you decided to come to the aquarium?" Minato asked since he knew about Kihimoto's loneliness.

Kihimoto shakes his head "No I'm a host now and I'm accompanying my homestay" he gestures to the mermaid in the wheelchair "This's her, her name is Meroune Lorelei but prefers Mero" she waves at Minato "This's Minato Shashi a friend of mine since high school he's a major in aquatic biology ."

"Hello nice to meet you master Minato" she says while kneeling in her chair. Minato was taken back not that his friend is a homestay but because like everyone in the aquarium knew who this woman is.

"Likewise lady Mero."

She laughs a little "Please none of that lady talk just Mero is fine."

Minato tries to speak to his friend about rather or not knowing the identity of his homestay, but before he could say anything Kihimoto asked him first "If it's not a problem do you mind sharing what was that phone call about?"

Minato sighs in frustration "Some co-worker has called in sick and everyone including myself already have lots of work, but he's supposed to be performing with the dolphins, seals & orca's and now the manager is angry since a lot of people will demand refunds."

"Well this's bad I'm sorry" Kihimoto apologizes.

"No it's not your fault."

Mero looks down a bit this gets Kihimoto's attention but before he could ask what's the matter Mero looks towards Minato "I'll perform in his stead" she said determined.

"No I can't ask a guest especially someone's of your importance to cover for our incompetence."

Mero shakes her head "No I can't let these good people come for nothing and I absolutely can't stand back & watch as you being punished for something's that isn't your fault" when she said that her aura had once again returned as a golden armor found it's way on her body, seeing this Minato got his phone out and made a call.

"I found a solution" the voice speaks in an upbeat tone which causes Minato to sigh "No I'm not doing it a mermaid had volunteered to do it" the voice speaks angrily which angers Minato "No I didn't dumb it on a guest the guest volunteered if you don't like it your free to face the bosses wrath since I'm the only one with the solution" the voice remains silent "I thought so" Minato finishes the call "Alright Mero, Kihimoto follow me" the 2 nod as they follow to take place in the show.

A/N: Done I hope you like it, I decided to take the aquarium date from canon without Miia & the dragon subplot. Tell me what you think. I'm thinking of another fanfic for this fandom a crossover between Monster musume & Love Hina as response to a challenge by Raja-Ulat but I don't believe I can remain faithful to his requirements.
