A/N: Hello I'm back with an update so sorry for being late but I just didn't find it in me to continue this until now, it's been a long time since this story was published and made available since then a lot of site members favourited and/or followed it so I'm extremely thankful to you all for supporting this story as it's also a support for the author. Moving along let's get started after so long.

After the cold incident the days normally passed well as normal as it could be with two different members of different species as the young couple returned to their daily routines or as it seems. Mero was staring through the window with a look of concern written on her face as her mind was still occupied by what does she think of her host her current activity which was watching two Birds building their nest a home for themselves and their future hatchlings didn't really help ease the pressure on her mind letting out a sigh the Mermaid closed her eyes as she started revaluating her relationship with her host thinking about how sad she was from the dream she saw, she holds her chest 'Is this love? If it then what kind of love is it?' she thought as the definition of love has many meanings based on whom receives it and from who it could be received from parental, siblinghood, friendship or simple acquaintances that you have known for so long 'Yet he is none of them.'

Before the sea maiden could reflect on this longer the doorbell rang gaining her attention snapping her out of her tracks in which the train of thought runs, snapping herself the maiden began moving the wheelchair towards the door as whoever it is that came grew impatient evident in the many rings that came she finally reached the door of her current home and opened it revealing Ms. Smith "Finally could you have been any slower?" the agent cried out tiredly.

"Um nice to see you as well lady coordinator" Mero said in a nervous polite tone "Sorry for being late."

Letting out a sigh the agent started composing herself "No big deal and I'm sorry for the intrusion."

"If I may ask for what reason do we owe this visit?"

Smith snaps her fingers as a medical team appears "We're here for your health check" Mero's eyes widen and was going to say something, but Smith stopped her "Don't worry it isn't about the cold, it's just the general check-up since the date came for it."

Mero turned her head to the side "Um I don't mean to offend but I don't remember being told about this or was my host also told about it."

"Yeah, yeah things slip out of my mind like caffeine slips out of a mug" the agent admitted in a dismissing manner something one would not expect for a woman of her position "Anyways let's get this over with there's other houses to visit too" letting out a cry of tiredness the agent slumped down "So many things to do so little time."

"Um Lady coordinator?" Mero asked with her eyes seemingly had gotten smaller.

"Yeah sorry let's get this finished" the team was allowed in as the health check up began from simple things such as the temperature, sight test and etc. they went well however one finale test would prove to be the catalyst for today's activity this test is the nightmare of many for the reputation and pride of their bodies is on the line it had one name…the weight test.

Despite her rather peculiar preference in what a romance should be Mero was still a girl at heart a young one at that like most girls of her age the Mermaid was pretty sensitive about how much weight does her body hold looking at the special weight scale that was prepared specifically to suit her the girl was showing concern and took in a deep breath before finally steeping inside her eyes were shut in predication and her webbed hands were held together in a prayer as she heard the numbers go up with a peeping sound until it finally stopped taking a sip of courage the girl opened one of her oceanic blue eyes and looked at the scale seeing the number her eyes which were shut in fear a moment ago became widened with shock as a defining scream was heard through the house.

Sometime passed as the living room was occupied by the trio Smith was seated on a chair shooting the couple with her shaded eyes as Kihimoto and Mero were seated on the coach with the human tries to comfort the Mermaid who had dug her face in her webbed hands in shame. Deciding to break the silence Smith brought up her hand coughing gaining their attention "I admit Kihimoto is a great cook however this along with not doing regular exercises daily unfortunately gave poor little Ms. Meroune here weight and as the coordinator I can't afford Mero's health being in danger regardless of how the small the reason could be as the health of interspecies is top priority since the beginning and you two already gave us a scare with the cold incident putting you guys on watch."

Kihimoto scratches the back of his head nervously seeing it was his fault "So, what can I do?"

Smith's answer was in the form of her getting up before making her way towards the host digging her hand inside her black suit the woman scrapes looking for something until she caught it getting it out and handing it over to the male human host, it was a green card with black writings which read 'Sports Club Kobold'. The man looked up giving an inquisitive look at the coordinator as to what this is "It's a new club opened for interspecies society members how about you check it out?"

Kihimoto nodded in agreement before looking over at Mero "Hey Mero how about it?"

The Mermaid raised her head up as she looked at her host the look in her eyes wasn't overly excited as her mind was still hung up on the horrible revelation from earlier she simply gave her host a nod of confirmation.

Later at the Sports club

The couple had finally arrived at their destination as Mero gazed at the impressive looking structure with admiration "Wow it's beautiful wouldn't you say that Dear sir?" Mero turned back asking her host was pushing her wheelchair.

"Yeah it's nice" Kihimoto answered non-chunkily.

Mero looked taken back "Is it not to your liking?"

"Um n-no it's just you know" the Mermaid had her head turned in confusion making the host gulp trying to give a good answer "Normal yeah that's it it's normal looking."

"Yeah I seem to grasp where you stand since you have been on land most of your life thus many of these structures don't seem to leave an impression on you unlike me who sees it for the first time" Mero stated allowing her host to breath out in relief.

"Oh thank heavens here I thought I wronged you in some way" Kihimoto said.

Mero seemed concerned with his answer but before she could say much "GOOD MORNING!" a cheerful voice shouted in excitement getting them off guard turning around listening in to rushing footsteps and heavy breathing the duo were greeted by a Dog looking humanoid looking girl dressed in a sporty fashion like a black tank-top, brown training shorts, a green sweat jacket and two black sneakers she made it in front of them as she leaned down catching her breath confusing them further.

"Are you alright Miss?" Mero asked.

The girl got up quickly catching Mero's webbed hand in a hand shake filled with excitement "Yes I'm fine totally I'm Polt a Kobold the owner and operator of this gym and I thank you two for coming" she then caught Kihimoto's hand in a hand shake "This outside world lacks gyms for Interspecies people to keep up with their health putting them us in a pinch so it's my job as a trainer to fill in that void" Polt then ran towards the club's front doors entering them "Please follow me this way."

The duo looked at where she was standing a moment ago with confusion "Um she sure is lively" Kihimoto said in a taken back tone.

"Correct she's rather…enthusiastic" Mero agreed in an equally taken back tone.

"Well let's get inside" Kihimoto said as he began pushing the wheelchair inside.

Once inside the two were greeted by the massive hallway of the gym which looked more impressive in the inside rather than the outside "Well welcome to my gym let's get started first by changing into your gym suits" Polt said excitedly giving two thumbs up with a wink "Since we don't want these clothes going sweaty do we?"

"Um yeah sure" Kihimoto agreed.

Polt suddenly appeared in front of the human taking hold of the wheelchair "I'll take the Miss to the girl's changing room once your finished go to the main room" the energetic Kobold instructed which were headed by the human.

After changing into the proper attire of gym Kihimoto waited in the desired room which was filled with weights and other training equipment's being used by the attendees mostly extra species whilst the humans were simply sitting on chairs waiting for them to be finished "Sorry for the wait" Polt announced having finally arrived with Mero in toe "I take it you took your time admiring our assortment of exercise machines for all species" Polt stated rather proudly as she began giving explanations to each equipment and how it works similar to a saleswoman introducing a product to a consumer "How about we start with a treadmill first?"

"Um Lady coach" Mero began.

"No need for formality just call me Polt" the Kobold interrupted.

"Sorry um" Mero tried but couldn't really bring herself to talk without formality since she was raised that way "Ms. Polt?" she addressed in the form of a question hoping the girl doesn't mind this lower form of formalistic speech.

The Kobold still didn't look satisfied but wasn't going to point it out "Okay this's better going back to the-"

"I don't mean to disappoint you but I can't use that" Mero interrupted in revelation raising up her fishtail pointing at it.

Polt seemed stunned for a moment before snapping herself "Well how about lifting some weights?"

"Um sorry but my mucus makes it hard for me to hold anything" Mero revealed shocking the Kobold again.

"Alright let's do regular sit ups and push ups" Polt suggested being less enthusiastic than before with her eyes closed in nervousness.

"I can't do these either since I'm so slippery" Polt looked down as if someone pierced her with an arrow Kihimoto looked at her with concern Mero looked towards her host with an innocent look "Did I say something wrong?"

Shaking his head the human looked at the defeated Kobold "Um do you have a swimming pool?"

The Kobold suddenly shot back up "Yes we have one of course we can't be a gym without one" Polt stated rather proudly she laughed nervously scratching the back of her head "Why didn't I start with that for a Merfolk?"

"Well that would be the ideal place for me" Mero said smiling "I even have my own suit."

Kihimoto sighed in relief as the trip thankfully wasn't wasted.

The swimming pool

Kihimoto dressed in a black sport pair of trunks with blue linings and a green hoodie jacket stood before the large pool of the gym which was glimmering with shinning lights this only made the man admire the pool further "Sorry for keeping you waiting Mister" Polt's voice shouted as she suddenly appeared with Mero in toe who wasn't wearing her usual swimsuit for once but a one piece sport swimsuit which didn't go unnoticed by her human host.

"Mero did you have a change of style?" the host asked.

"No Ms. Polt lent me this one" Mero revealed as she caressed her arm looking around "She said it's because um how can I say this?"

"It's too revealing and indecent such a thing is not permitted in our public pool" Polt revealed shaking her index finger.

Kihimoto nodded seeing where she's coming from since he himself thought it was a bit indecent when he first saw them but got used to seeing them "So you think it looks bad as well?"

Shaking his head the human turned to her "No I admit I was embarrassed when I first saw it but I got used to it" he answered which for some reason made Mero look down "Um Mero?"

"We're wasting too much time and each wasted moment allows laziness to take over!" Polt revealed as she grabbed Mero's wheelchair and pushed it to the edge of the pool before throwing her off of it.

"AAAHHH!" Mero screamed loudly as she fell and made a big splash on the water.

"MERO!" Kihimoto yelled as he ran and jumped in after her making a splash of his own, bubbles popped at the surface where the two jumped in until a large shadow appeared and finally emerged being the duo who wheezed and coughed. Kihimoto held onto Mero as he spared her a glance "Mero are alright?"

The Mermaid despite water being her normal environment even a surprise splash like that has a tool to her folk as she rubbed her eyes "Yes I'm alright Dear sir" she answered before feeling his wet jacket "Um sir you need to take the jacket off it's wet" Mero warned in concern.

"It's okay I'll get out and-" he was interrupted as Mero grabbed the zipper "Hey Mero what are you doing? Stop."

"No! I'm not risking another cold not now or ever now remain still" Mero answered before demanding her host to stop as she tried to pull down the zipper.

"Mero please I can take care of it just let me go and I'll get out" Kihimoto tried to reason with her whilst fighting for control over the jacket he's wearing.

The two's fight for control escalated until a ribbing sound was heard which increased as the green jacket was completely torn up from the fighting. Mero who was just a moment ago filled with energy was now stunned by what is before her being her host's bare upper body one would guess that he's a man of a regular physique not fat or muscular somewhere in the middle far from either but he's right in front of her with a rather proud looking physique a broad chest and pronounced abs the girl couldn't help but gain a small red colour on her face 'Wow I would never have expected this.'

Kihimoto who was unaware of his homestays current line of sight was now occupied with the torn remains of the jacket floating in the pool as he began gathering them with Polt scolding him "C'mon we don't want these spreading all around the pool Mister or else you'll be charged for it along with the jacket we lent you."

"Yes, yes I understand" Kihimoto replied tirelessly as he kept picking the ones that were still around him with some getting out of his reach due to the rippling he causes with his frame trying to reach out for them after letting out a sigh the man decided to get help from his partner in crime "Mero could you please reach out for the ones there after all you're a good swimmer" no replay was heard making the man turn to her "Mero?" the Mermaid in question was completely out of it as her eyes seemed to pierce into his figure "Mero are you okay?" he asked with concern as he reached out to her slamming his hand on her shoulder lightly but enough to snap her back.

The Mermaid gasped as she glanced at the hand with the redness of her face becoming deeper "Yes what is it?" she asked in a stuttering panic which was a big breakout from her traditional formal way of speaking.

"Um Mero I asked if you could help getting the other torn parts that went far?" Kihimoto reminded sounding concerned "But if you're not feeling well I'll just go get them myself."

As the human was about to swim away he was grabbed from behind by Mero who shook her head "No I'll help sorry I was…I" she sighed closing her eyes hanging her head down "I don't know what came over me just now, I'll get the other parts" she swam away collecting them.

After recovering all the torn parts the duo got out sitting in the folding chairs in front of Polt as they finally putted away the last pieces inside the garbage tin "Alright we finally gathered up all the pieces and putted them away" Polt announced as she got a sketching book out writing down something with her bone shaped pen before tearing off the page and handing it to Kihimoto, the written contents was that of a price tag "I'll expect the payment for the torn jacket to come by the end of this week, understood?"

"Yes don't worry I'll try to have it by tomorrow" Kihimoto said.

Polt closed her eyes in a smile "Well now let's get back where we're supposed to be Mero's training session."

"Yeah but this time I would like to enter by my own violation rather than being pushed in" Mero said in fear before adding "Please."

"Yeah sorry about that it was rather unsavoury of me" Polt assured with a nervous laugh.

Kihimoto got up stretching "Alright Mero lets go" he went to pick up her Wheelchair.

"Wait" Mero's voice stopped him making him look back at her with confusion, the girl looked down as she seems to struggle with something.

Kihimoto felt this as he approached her "Mero?"

"Um Dear sir would you mind carrying me to the pool?" she asked rather embarrassed as one could tell she struggled to get these words out of her mouth.

Kihimoto was taken back by such a request that he would have fell back if he didn't collect himself in time "W-what?"

"I asked if you could carry me to the pool!" Mero yelled with a crimson face and her eyes closed. She shifted uneasily as she hung her head down "But if you don't want to I understand."

The Mermaid suddenly wowed as she was carried out of her tail looking up the maiden saw her host carrying her bridal style having a small shade of crimson "Like this?"

"Yes" Mero answered as she was unable to stop herself from leaning on his chest and wrapping her arms around his neck making a chill run down the human's spine.

"Okay let's get going" Kihimoto began as he slowly made his way to the pool each step felt as if a shard of glass pierced into him slowing him down but kept listening in to his guts until he finally made his way towards the ladder dipping his toe into the water feeling it out before raising it back up to the floor "Well it's nice not too hot or too cold, so will you jump in or do I put you down next to the ladder?"

Mero looked up glancing at his face which looked nervous a bit cute if you asked her shaking her head lightly the girl put on her best smile with closed eyes "Um I hope you don't mind" she brought her webbed hands together as she "But could you put me down inside the water?"

"Um seriously?" Kihimoto asked taken back.

Mero nodded with her smile "Positive."

Gulping gathering the courage he posses the human dipped his entire foot in before sitting down and slowly dipping his body into the water until finally only his upper body was above the water level "Well we made it" he looked at the smiling Mermaid "Um Mero you can let go now."

"Oh yes" she said with a stutter before slowly letting go of her host a bit slowly until she swam away, feeling the water the Mermaid made a splash that hit her host as she rushed through the water in speed until she reached the edge tagging it before swimming back with similar speed back to her host who was stunned by what he saw but the Mermaid didn't seem to catch on to this as she circled around the water "Hmm this pool is nice the water's temperature is just perfect and it's big enough for me to speed through."

Snapping himself back to normal the human host glanced at Mero "Sorry."

"Huh?" Mero asked turning back to him.

"Sorry that the pool they built in my place is small if it was bigger we may had avoided this um" Kihimoto was unsure how to bring up the sensitive topic but he still needed to for the apology "Gaining issue?" the man apologized in the form of a question as the Mermaid looked shocked causing him to stutter as he was about to continue but felt a finger touching his lip being stopping him from speaking the finger belonged to Mero who shoot him with a glance.

"Dear sir please stop apologizing not everything that happens to me should be held as your responsibility promise me that" Mero begged as she looked into his eyes with hers glowing "Will you?"

The man struggled to find his voice as his eyes were widened from her own "Ye-yes I'll try."

The sweet tender moment the two shared was interrupted by the loud sound of a whistle disturbing them "Alright no making out, smooching or cuddling in the public pool" Polt warned.

The two's faces became crimson as they distanced themselves away from each other's "WE'RE NOT LIKE THAT!" the two yelled at the same time.

"Yeah right" Polt replied sarcastically with a deadpan tone "Alright let's do some swimming!"

The two nodded as they began their water training which proved productive.

The Kurusu residence night-time

Kihimoto dug his face in his pillow as he muffled at it unable to sleep as the tender moments he shared with his homestay in the gym kept hunting his thought "Stop it" he ordered himself to no avail a knock on his door was heard bringing his attention to it "What?" the man got up as he made his way to the door slowly turning the knob being greeted by the very homestay he was thinking about wearing her traditional black swimsuit attire "Mero why are you still up?"

The Mermaid glanced at him with a dreamy look on her eyes which didn't help her host calm down a single bit "I was thinking of you Dear sir" the Mermaid answered as she threw herself at him breathing heavily on his face with a drive of a sexual predator.

"M-Mero?" Kihimoto tried to snap her back but the Mermaid grounded him down as she leaned in touching noses with him.

"No I want this" she whispered blowing on his ear sending a shiver down his spine as the full moon's light penetrated his curtains.
