A/N: Just needed to write. Short little fic about...well you'll see. Plus it's my first high school MarkRoger fic, sort of. Thought it was kind of cute. R and R, por favor!
Disclaimer: Don't own Mark or Roger. I know, sad, right?
I bopped my head along to the music, for once feeling rhythm within me and looked to my side where I felt a heated stare.
It was from Roger.
"What?" I asked, pulling the headphones off my head.
He just shook his head, smiling at me. I ignored him (He's just being Roger again, I thought) and put the headphones back. I continued to get lost in the music when I heard laughter this time, and turned to look back at my slightly older friend.
"Roger, what!" I asked, this time with an attitude.
"Nothing! I swear, just...ignore me."
"Well, I tried that, but you started laughing at me."
Roger held back another giggle and looked away from me, making me incredibly self conscious. Something on my face? A stain on my shirt? Leaves in my hair? It was his stupid idea to lay in this uncomfortable leaf pile anyway.
"Roger, what the fuck is so funny?"
"It's just..." His voice came out more high pitched than I think he intended. "When you listen to music, you mouth along to the words. I just think it's cute."
Cute?
...and I did?
"I do not mouth along to the words."
"Marky, I was watching you. Yes...you do."
"Whatever. I bet you do it too."
"Yes, I do, actually. Only I do it in the comfort of my own home." Again, laughter.
"Shut up, you stupid ass."
"Ooh, touchy."
For the last time, I put the headphones on my head, this time determined not to lip sync to the music. I still felt Roger's grass green eyes watching me and turned my body away from him.
That heat was still there, though.
And soon I felt a hand brush against my arm, grab me, pull me close, two light pink lips on mine and a rosy nose brush against my cheek.
And I didn't know why, but I kissed him back with more passion than I ever kissed any girlfriend.
Or at least that one girl from the Physics Club.
He pulled away from me and smiled. "I like it when you lip sync."
I smiled back. "Would you like me to?"
He nodded, resting his head on his hand.
So I lip synced for the rest of our time together, as he watched from his spot on the no longer uncomfortable leaf pile.
