"Ah, Ananias!" Silas cried, beckoning Ananias towards him. "Perfect timing. May you spare me a brief moment of your time? There is a certain matter that I would like to get your opinion on."

"Um, sure, yeah," Ananias uncertainly said. "Though considering what you do, I doubt that I'd be of much help."

Silas good-naturedly chuckled as he shook his head. "Nonsense. I don't know if you've realized this or not, but in the short amount of time that you've been with us, you've already found a way to become an invaluable asset and an irreplaceable friend to everybody here. Don't think for a second that your help is lesser than that of anybody else's."

Ananias' eyes awkwardly widened. "Um… sure, okay. I'll… keep that in mind." Ananias couldn't quite put his finger on it, but there had always been something about Silas that seemed to rub him the wrong way; which was strange, considering the fact that he and Silas barely interacted with one another, and whenever they did, Ananias never seemed to learn anything substantially new about him. Silas was just chivalrous and, well, kind. That was it. That was the only impression Ananias got from him and yet for some reason it was enough to make Ananias' interactions with Silas feel so awkward to him. No, he didn't believe that Silas or his kindness was phony or fake (they seemed genuine enough), so what was it that made Silas so uncomfortable for Ananias to be around? Perhaps it was how in-your-face and excessive his kindness was. Yes, that was probably it. Perhaps to Ananias, Silas' kindness and chivalry were a bit much, especially considering the fact that Silas apparently seemed to lack any notable flaws that could counterbalance such wonderful traits in his mind. Yes, perhaps at the end of the day, Ananias just felt that Silas was a bit too squeaky clean, too perfect, and Ananias knew a thing or two about humans and the impossibility of perfection. It was impossible, plain and simple, and yet here was a man that, in his eyes, seemed to be the textbook example of what a knight should be. It was a bit too disconcerting and unbelievable for the messenger to be comfortable with. Perhaps he was hiding something? Perhaps Silas was attempting to cover up a less than stellar trait about himself under all of his supposed chivalry and kindness. Perhaps… oh gods, maybe he did think that Silas was a fake and a phony after all.

"So, um, what exactly is this matter that you want my opinion on?" Ananias asked.

"Ah, yes, well," Silas let out an embarrassed and awkward cough, "I've taken some time to think about what you said to me the last time we spoke, and I must admit it left me quite shaken."

"Oh. Well, um… sorry?"

"O-Oh no! There's no need for you to apologize. If anything, I should thank you! You've helped me to realize one of my shortcomings as a knight!"

"Um… right." Ananias frowned with a mixture of confusion and regret. "Look, I know that you're kind of having a moment right now, but… I'm sorry. I have no idea what you're talking about. Could you remind me what exactly I said that got you to have this little… epiphany of yours?"

Silas gasped. "Ah, yes, of course! Where are my manners? Um… in that conversation that we had, you mentioned that you did not know that much about me -"

"Oh. That." Ananias sighed. "Look, I admit, that was a pretty rude thing for me to say, so sorry for, you know, saying that and all."

"N-No! I already said that you don't need to apologize for that!"

Ananias' eyes widened in surprise. "Oh! Well, um… okay. Why?"

"Because you helped me to realize one of my shortcomings as a knight!"

Ananias gave Silas a funny look. "… How?"

"By pointing out how little of an impression or presence that I have with others!"

"… You lost me."

Silas let out a disappointed sigh before explaining, "A knight must be able to leave an impression! Otherwise, how else will they be able to pass on the values of chivalry and honor and inspire the next generation of knights?"

Ananias' eyes narrowed in disbelief. "You got all of that, from me not knowing that much about you?" he asked incredulously.

Silas nodded. "Well… yes! If you do not know much about me, then that must mean that I left so little of an impression on you that you did not wish to get to know me better! A knight who lacks any sense of presence or charisma cannot hope to inspire the people and the world around him."

"I, um, didn't realize that that was something that mattered so much to you."

"Well, not in the sense of gaining more glory and fame for myself, no. But I am only one man, and when it comes to helping people the best one man can do is to inspire others to spread such goodwill towards others. But I can't do that if I do not leave a lasting impression on people to begin with, right?"

"Um, sure, I guess. But now I'm really confused. Didn't you call me over to ask me for my opinion on something? What does that have to do with this?"

Silas' eyes lit up with excitement. "Ah, well, you see," he pulled out a piece of gaudy headgear specifically made for horses, "I made this headgear for my horse, you see. And I wanted to get your opinion on whether me riding a horse wearing such a thing would leave a positive, lasting impression or not."

"…."

"As I recall," Silas continued, "you come from a large family of merchants, and I figured that merchants would know a thing or two about leaving a lasting impression on people, you know, in order to bring potential customers into their shops or businesses or whatnot, so I thought that maybe you could help me with -"

"This is stupid," Ananias bluntly deadpanned.

Silas' eyes widened in surprise. "P-Pardon?"

"This," Ananias pointed at the ridiculously gaudy headgear that Silas was holding, "is stupid. Your horse is fine. If anything, this headgear would only get you and your horse unwanted attention."

Silas nodded understandingly. "O-Oh. I see."

"If you really are so desperate to leave an impression without getting yourself laughed at or getting you or your horse killed, then, in my opinion, lean into that cowlick of yours. Grow it out or something, I don't know. Just don't force your horse to wear this. It's hideous… and gaudy, two things you don't want people to think about you."

"R-Right."

"And stop thinking so hard about that one thing I said to you that one time. You're a perfectly fine and inspiring knight. The problem isn't you, it's me. I'm just really socially inept and self-absorbed, and sometimes that means I end up saying something I probably shouldn't have said. It happens."

"Uh…."

Ananias let out an exasperated sigh. "Can I go now?" he softly asked.

Silas' mouth hung open as he continued to stare at the messenger who had just given him one of the most brutally honest critiques he had ever received. "Um, yeah, sure." As Ananias left, Silas could only sigh, and mutter, "He really is a tough nut to crack, isn't he?"

Author's Note #1: The next supports will be Leo, followed by Keaton and Subaki, or at least that is what I would normally be saying here, but I feel bad for leaving Mozu out, so from this point on the order will be Silas, then Leo, Keaton, Subaki, Mozu, and then the Warriors supports.

Author's Note #2: The Fire Emblem Warriors poll is up on my profile. Vote for which five characters you want for Ananias to support with from that game the most and, in the end, ten characters will be selected for Ananias to support with, so make your voices heard. Happy voting!

Author's Note #3: As Ananias has no real connection to the Three Houses cast and has no real reason to be there anyway, there will be no Three Houses supports for him. I know that an Anna is in Three Houses, but if we went by that logic, Ananias would have to support with every Fire Emblem character that has ever existed, which would be unrealistic to do, at least for one person. If any of you want to do that yourselves, however, then you have my blessing, it's just that I won't be the one doing it. Sorry.
