Both Watson and I walked upstairs through the dark, carrying a lantern we found in the kitchen. The knocking we continued as we made our way upstairs to the very top hallway. Every step we took it seemed the atmosphere grew darker and even darker, as if we were stepping into some world filled with nothing but darkness. Every now then I would turn to see a shadow on the wall, neither of which belonging to Watson or myself. But as soon as I turn my head the shadow would disappear.

Once in the upper hallway Watson and I decided to split up into two separate rooms. I would search the room on the right and he would search the room across from it, much to his dismay. Inside of the right room was a library. Nothing too special, just an ordinary library. But I couldn't help but notice that one of the bookshelves was not properly aligned. Curiously I looked around and found a book that was slightly sticking out from the rest, as if it was meant for me to pull it. So I did. The bookshelf swirled around and I stepped inside to find a well furnished alcove with a table, a wooden rocking chair and a nightstand. On the table was a piece of parchment paper that looked as if it had some sort of well thought out plan written on it. As I studied it I heard the sound of footsteps coming from behind me. I tried to turn around, but I felt a slight pinch on my neck. My vision blurred and I quickly passed out.

Moments later I had woken up to find myself in a room, strapped down to a table. I heard the laughter of a man coming from somewhere within the very room. When I looked up I saw Alucard and another woman, draped in white standing behind him.

"Where am I?" I asked, trying to keep my composure.

"Oh, Mr. Holmes." smiled Alucard with a devilish grin "You are finally awake."

"What is this place?" I asked, shaking off the grogginess "Why have you brought me here?"

"Shh." shushed Alucard, leaning over my body "Everything will be fine. I only took a little of your blood."

"My blood?" I blurted, trying not to fall back into my sleep "What do you want with that?"

"I need it to stay alive of course." started Alucard "That is why you passed out."

I looked at my surroundings a little closer. To my right were two more beds, much like the one I was laying upon. There were people on them, but they covered with white sheets. The one closest to me looked like the body of a woman. The other looked like the body of a man. Though I was curious. Could Watson be underneath the last one?

"Your partner." spoke Alucard, as if he had been reading my mind "You need not worry about him. He is under neither of those sheets. He's not even in this room."

"What have you done to him?" I seethed, turning my gaze to my vile captor.

"Nothing." said Alucard, gleefully "His heart just couldn't handle it."

I watched helplessly as the madman inched closer to my table with a needle in his right hand. I felt another pinch in my neck and quickly fell back into my slumber.
