Ben and the others immediately found themselves in the middle of the sea during the night trying to balance themselves on Uma's ship as it shook from the raging waves created by Ursula's gigantic form.
"Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, Let us see, let us through, let light come through, "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!" Fairy Godmother did not hesitate to use her magic and light up the surroundings.
"Glad you could come!" Someone overboard called. "I could use some help in rescuing the VKs!" He continued. "Since most of them cannot swim!"
"Jay!" Carlos called from the ship's deck. "On it!" He nodded.
Carlos and Ben went topless as they dove off of the ship while Evie simply shed the three outermost layers of her clothes.
"Ben!" Fairy Godmother exclaimed in alarm as she rushed to the ship's deck.
"Someone has to help." Ben stated before swimming towards the overboard crew.
The three converged on Jay's location where he told them where the other crew members were.
"Bonny, Jonas, Desiree and Morwenna are trying to stay afloat on a stray plank south from here." Jay said as he pointed south. "Gil, Zeke, Drey, Zhao, and Yamato are in that direction." He continued, pointing east. "Harry and Rosita are the ones near Uma and Ursula." He added pointing west.
They nodded after receiving the needed information and swam in different directions. Ben headed east, Evie headed south and Carlos headed towards west, where Ursula was.
Ben swam his way to Gil and the others despite the turbulent waters.
"Ben!" Gil greeted his savior. "I'm so glad you came here to save us." He cheered.
"What?!" Zeke scoffed. "We don't need saving."
"Nice to see you too Gil." Ben ignored the other pirate. "How'd you get in this situation anyway?
"I don't really know." Gil shrugged. "Uma was kind enough to bring the kids who wanted to explore the world."
Before Gil could continue, eight abnormally huge eagles descended from the sky and carried an equally large hammock made of vines by their talons.
Ben gestured for everyone to get on the hammock.
"Then King Triton summoned her and the next thing we know was Ursula wearing Uma's necklace and strangling her." Gil continued his story. "King Triton has been unsuccessful in freeing Uma and has to take care of his injured soldiers." He finished.
By the time Gil finished the story, they were already nearing the ship.
Once they were hovering above the ship Ben, Gil and the others jumped off of the hammock and landed on the deck below as Evie arrived with her group of rescued pirates.
Not long after, the eagles and hammock began to transform into eight swallows carrying small twigs in their small talons.
"Carlos?" Evie asked as she approached the magic users on the ship.
Fairy Godmother shook her head in response as she showed Evie a small mirror that showed how Carlos was fairing in his rescue attempt.
"So the pup has come to rescue us." Harry scoffed.
"That wimp is coming to get us?" Rosita laughed. "Never knew you can joke in the face of danger."
"What happened Hook?" Carlos asked.
"What's happening is that I'm trying to save Uma." Harry responded. "So you can go back to your Boradon King and leave us be."
Before Carlos could even retort, Harry and Rosita swam in Ursula's direction, with the intention of saving their captain.
"Harry wait!" Carlos attempted to catch up to the pirates. "You can't do that!"
"None of your business pup." Harry snarled as he and Rosita continued to swim. "Go back to Ben and Mal and save the others!"
"What is wrong with you?!" Uma yelled as she tried to pry away the tentacle holding her. "Having to work for your chop shop was one thing, now you're strangling me without reason?!" She yelled.
Ursula gave out a mighty roar as she wailed her tentacles all over the place, including the one holding Uma by the neck. The same tentacles were what caused Carlos to be separated from Harry and his crew once more.
Carlos looked at the Sea Witch's eyes, and it's the all-familiar look in the eyes that he decided to do things his way.
"Hey overgrown Calamari!" Carlos called out, calling upon his inner Mal. "Over here!"
Ursula and Uma looked in Carlos's general direction. Uma had a confused and worried on her face once she realized who exactly called for her mother's attention.
Ursula's face scowled as she roared in anger and began flailing her tentacles around.
"What the heck are you doing Carlos?!" Harry yelled in exasperation before diving down to dodge a tentacle coming his way. "Are you trying to get us killed?!"
Carlos ignored the pirate's yell as he simply swam and dodge the tentacles that were randomly flailing his way.
"Graaaaah!" Ursula yelled as she unconsciously threw her daughter upwards and then chased after the boy who called her attention.
Uma immediately transformed into her octopus form as soon as she reached the ocean's surface and immediately went for her crew members. She used two of her tentacles to grab hold of both Harry and Rosita before swimming back to their ship, The Lost Revenge.
Carlos on the other hand was busy dodging the tentacles chasing him. He didn't know how he was managing this feat, but he's not complaining.
However, Carlos's luck ran out.
A tentacle began to wrap around his waist and hoisted him up. He struggled to break free from the tentacle's hold but soon found himself letting the tentacle carry him considering the height he was currently in.
Carlos was soon face-to-face with the Sea-Witch herself. She gave out a mighty roar while flailing him everywhere – To the protruding rocks, to the seafloor – everywhere.
In the time that he was tightly in Ursula's grasp, he tried retrieve something from his pants. Once he was hoisted in the air, he managed to grasp what he was trying to find and got out of his pocket.
Before Carlos was able to use what he had retrieved from his pants, Ursula gave out another roar and flailed around once more. Her actions destroyed a lot of protruding rocks in the process.
Carlos held the vial in his hand tightly as he was flailed around. There were times when he was about to let go of the vial as he hit a lot of things while being flailed around but he remained resolute and held onto the vial as tight as he could.
Carlos was once again hoisted in the air. He took this opportunity and opened the vial that contained the leftovers of Dude's antidote that morning. He tipped the vial he was holding upside down as its contents began pouring on the face of the enraged octopus.
Ursula seemed to snap out of her reverie. She managed to look at herself and her surroundings before her hold on Carlos slacked as she fell unconscious to the water.
Carlos managed to use the tentacle that held him as leverage and jumped a few paces away from the unconscious sea witch. Before he could reach the water's surface, however, the water seemed to rise up and catch him in midair.
Carlos looked around and saw that a pair of pillars, made of water, were holding Ursula upright.
"H-how?!" Triton emerged from the depths of the ocean. "She couldn't be reasoned with earlier!" He exclaimed.
In the time it took for Carlos to catch his breath, the Lost Revenge arrived with Uma, still in her octopus form, swimming beside it.
Uma immediately grabbed Carlos by her tentacles as soon as she saw the state her mother was in.
"What did you do?!" Uma screeched.
"Whoa, whoa, Uma calm down!" Mal immediately came to her friend's defense. "Carlos had to defend himself."
"I know that." Uma growled. "There should be no conceivable way for him to knock my mother out!" She snarled.
"She's under the sedative effects of the cure." Evie pointed out.
"No!" Ben's eyes widened. "Even Ursula?!"
"What are you talking about?!" Uma growled. "My mother isn't sick!"
"Explain yourself girl!" Triton demanded as he pointed his trident at Evie. "What do you mean cure, when I called for Ursula she wasn't mad enough to attack her own daughter."
"I assure you King Triton, there is an explanation for this." Ben played peacemaker.
"I am waiting."
"Uma, would you be kind enough to release Carlos?" Ben requested.
"No!" Uma glared at the Auradonian king. "Not until you tell me what's going on!"
"U-uma." Carlos managed to wheeze out despite his situation. "She might have eaten a hallucinogenic mushroom."
"The world is currently plagued with cases of people attacking anyone and anything in their sights." Ben supplied.
"Still not seeing the connection." Uma warned.
"Gaaah!" Mal groaned. "Ursula probably ate one of those mushrooms while in human form, that's why she attacked you!" She exclaimed. "Can you please let Carlos go now?"
"Mushroom?" Uma questioned. "MUSHROOM?!" Uma yelled. "Ursula hasn't donned her human form in forever! You expect me to believe that she ate food that can be found on land?!" She scoffed. "You still see me as a lowly creature, don't you Mal?"
"That's just not true." Evie interjected. "There can be species of mushroom and toadstools that can grow underwater." She helpfully informed. "However, only one specie has been discovered as of late."
"My point exactly." Uma growled.
"Magic." Carlos uttered.
Carlos was flying on top of Rima when he went exploring the places that surrounded Riap Veracal: the marketplace near the palace, the forest where he and Arlus came from, and the ocean near the castle.
He was waiting for his companions to awaken after succumbing to the flower's sedative effects.
Carlos recoiled as he saw an upright bear swiped its claws on a tree which fell down taking down the nearby trees with it. He can also make out the centaurs and dryads luring the beings that were affected by the mushroom far from the castle and the nearby marketplace while satyrs and a few younger dryads helped the injured towards the castle for treatment.
Carlos winced as he looked at the ocean and the rivers connected to it have few blotches of red on the water's surface. He saw the same closed umbrella-like mushrooms floating on the ocean's surface.
Carlos could also faintly see two mermaids butting heads with each other, others were busy crashing their entire bodies unto small rocks and protruding boulders on the shore.
As the elders concluded, magic was used in the devil's mushroom. It was the only explanation how toadstools were also able to affect everyone underwater as these species of toadstools can't bear won't flourish near shorelines, let alone underwater.
Rima whined at the scenes she witnessed.
"I know buddy." Carlos rubbed the gryphon's mane. "We need to save them as soon as possible." He continued. "We have to."
