Here we are with chapter 16 for the sequel of this story, despite it yes being chapter 44. Yeah, we are getting closer and closer to the end. Well, not too close, but you all get the point. Also, thanks to those who haven't spoiled the other readers on the game or complain about how I made the chapters different from the games.

Remember, trying to fit this all into the Star Wars universe. A task that is not simple, especially with all the crazy stuff we see here. Also, didn't want to make them too long since a lot of these levels have side quests and stuff. Prefer to focus on what played a big role in the game.

Story II: Chapter XVI

Arkham

Cassandra or now that she has her suit on, Batgirl heads to the Intensive Treatment. Luckily she managed to find a way inside from the top of the entrance. A sniper was seen coming out of a room that leads inside. She took him out and heads inside.

She also left a trail so Batman can know how to get in. She made it inside the room and got passed the Joker's guards. Just as they are setting up some explosives around the gargoyles. She informed Batman about this before she heads to the next room.

She heads to the Secure Transit. The elevator will take her to Killer Croc's lair, but she knew Joker's men will suspect something is up. So, she uses her cloaking device and heads down on top of the elevator. It takes her down as Joker's men noticed is up when they see the elevator coming down, but no sign of anyone inside.

She spots six of Joker's men as she took out three Batarang and tosses it. Hitting three of the men before she leaps over to tackle one of the other men. One grabs a weapon and begins firing as the other one took cover. The blaster hits her suit and reveals where she is at.

The fifth man grabs a fire extinguisher and uses it to reveal where Batgirl is. The six men all recovered and charge at her. She tosses down a smoke pellet and covers the room in smoke. The men all charge in the smoke, but couldn't see where they were going.

As a result all six collided with one another. Batgirl took out a metal cable from her utility belt and wraps it around the men. She tightens the grip on the cable as the men couldn't break free. She then sends electric volts at the men as they begin getting electrocuted.

Once they are out the smoke disappears and she secures them. Making sure they don't escape as she heads to the Control Room Access that will take her to Killer Croc's lair.

"Oracle…can you inform Batman…I am getting close to the sewers…" she stopped when she begins checking her tools. "Shouldn't take me too long…to make it to Croc's lair."

"All right, but be careful. Remember, Killer Croc is very dangerous," said Oracle knowing how strong the monster is. "If you end up confronting him, go for the electric collar. Batman told me that Croc still has it on and it can still hurt him."

Batgirl got the idea and knew she will need to use her stealth to her advantage. "Will the suit…help identify…the plant I seek?"

"Yes," Oracle replied as she sends the information to her cowl. "Again, be careful. Don't rush into his lair and be on your guard. He has the advantage in the water and if you make any noises he will find out."

"Understood…I will be careful," Batgirl replied as she arrives in the sewer and heads to the lair as she finds it to be in another part of the sewer system. "Found the lair…do you have the schematics…for the lair?"

Oracle looked it up, but found a problem. "Luthor and Cadmus didn't seem to keep any files of the sewer systems. I guess they didn't figure anyone would use them. I'd say wait till Batman arrives and then you two can go get the plant."

Batgirl knew she couldn't wait. Not with Ivy's plants running amuck and how they need to stop the Joker soon. She took out a scanner and sets it on a pipe to help her find her way back.

"I will be fine…set a scanner to find my way out…" she also took out some explosive gel and sets it over a part of the ground that seems weakened. "I also set a trap…a trap for an animal, like Croc. Tell Batman…I will be all right."

She heads down the tunnel that takes her to floating platforms that are over a large body of sewer water. She knows Killer Croc will track her down and so she will need to walk along carefully. She walks along the platforms carefully, while using her cloaking device to stay hidden. Sure, Croc can use his scent, but he never caught her scent before and used her cowl vision to see his body heat if he appears anywhere.

After a few minutes of searching she finds one of the plants she is looking for. She begins getting a sample, but it wasn't enough. To make the antidote she needs to find more. So, she needed to keep looking.

Suddenly she hears Killer Croc growling loudly. She flies up to the ceiling and used her Bat Claws to attach to the wall. Just as Killer Croc appeared from the water and began looking for the intruder. He tried to sniff her out, but she used pieces of the plant's pheromones on herself to hide her scent.

Killer Croc hissed angrily as he couldn't see his victim. "I know you are somewhere around here, Batman! I will find you and tear your flesh off your bones!"

He goes back underwater and goes in search for the Batman. Batgirl carefully glides down on the platform and sighed in relief. Though she knows she isn't out of the woods yet. She still has a long way to go. She sighed a she puts the vial that has the strain sample and looks over the many tunnels that can take her to the samples.

Meanwhile

Batman finished fixing his damaged suit and resupplied himself with more equipment. He knew he is going to need it, especially if Joker makes more Titan monsters. He managed to also fix his suit's cloaking device. He'll need it in order to get to Killer Croc's lair to help Batgirl.

Batman made it inside the Intensive Treatment Lobby thanks to Batgirl leaving behind a trail for him to follow. He heads inside and arrives in the lobby where he sees the Joker's men working on something on the gargoyles.

"Are they ready? Have you planted the explosives yet?" the Joker asked through the intercom.

"Done!" said the Joker thug on a ladder as he finished putting the bomb on one of the gargoyles

"Razor's just finishing his off now," said the leader of the group as he radios in the process to the Joker.

"Good! Let's test 'em out!" said the Joker as he activates the bomb near the thug and he is send flying to the ground. "Whoops!" said the Joker as he began laughing while the men just ignored the fact their boss killed one of their own.

Batman analyzed the gargoyles and found they all have bombs attached to them. They appear to have a weight detection on them. So if the slightest extra weight lands on them then the bombs will detonate. Perhaps that might give him an advantage.

He activates his cloaking and lands down on one of the platforms. He approaches one of Joker's men and knocks him out in a sleeper hold. Batman saw he has a collar on his neck. Alerting the other men to what is going on.

Batman jumps over the railing and hid behind one of the machinery as the Joker's men approach the knocked out thug. As the men head to the body, Batman used the distraction to head to the main office in the middle of the room. He glides up and grabs one of Joker's men before knocking him out.

This caused one of the other men in the room to head to the scream, but Batman grabs him and knocks him out with a sleeper hold. This left four more men left and all armed. Batman sees two of the men underneath the gargoyles and flies over using his rocket boots. He lands on the gargoyles, but quickly got off of them as they detonated.

The explosion caused the two men to move out of the way, which allowed Batman to use the smoke from the debris to tackle them both down. Grabbing their heads and slamming them on the concrete before using his rocket boots to fly out of the smoke. The last two men got scared now with what is happening as they begin to panic out of fear.

Batman sees one of the men try to make his way to the exit, but Batman grabs him and tosses him into scanning room. His friend saw this and panic when he saw Batman rush into the room where he knocked out the thug. The last thug begins shooting in the room as he lets out a loud scream. Batman tossed a Batarang at the muzzle of the gun as it explodes.

The man begins running away, but Batman flies at him and kicks him in the head of the head. He is send flying to the wall and hits it hard. Knocking himself out as he falls to the ground. Batman looks around and sees the last armed man is down and is now free to go find Batgirl.

He used his Cryptographic to hack into the security system and shuts off the ray shields. He heads down and enters the Cell Block Transfer. The same area he passed by when he brought the Joker in. It was then he heard another voice on the intercom.

One that didn't seem familiar as she spoke about a game from last night. Batman's vision began getting blurry and he began smelling a familiar scent. It was then he realized it was Crane's Fear Gas. He tried to fight through it, but it was a lot stronger than last time and soon passed out into darkness.

Croc's lair

Batgirl continued to make her way through the lair. Gathering as much of the samples of the Venom plant as possible. All while avoiding being spotted by Killer Croc or being heard by him. Anytime he appeared from the water, she would hide up the ceiling, and used her cloaking device.

This prevented Killer Croc from finding her and smell her too. He would return to the water and she would use the destruction he makes when he emerges from the water to make her way around.

She finds the last of the plants and cuts it down. She goes to get the sample she needs when all of a sudden the platforms behind here got taken. Killer Croc appeared from the water and grabs her. He goes to bites her, but she activated her utility belt to send electricity to the monster.

She then activates his shock collar forcing him to let her go as she uses her rocket boots to get some distance from the monster. Once she got far from him she finds a nearby pipe and lands on it before contacting Oracle.

"I've got enough spores…I am heading back…to meet with Batman," whispered Batgirl so she won't be heard. "Where…is he?"

"I'm not sure," said Oracle as she noticed something is messing with the suit. "One minute he was in the lobby and headed to meet with you. The next the cowl began messing up and lost track of him," Oracle then noticed a spike in her brother's body level. "Shit. Looks like Crane got to him again. If you got the samples you need then head on back and go help him."

Batgirl nods as she activates her sonar beacon to get her way. "I'm getting out."

She begins tracking the sonar as she heads for the exit, when she sees Killer Croc appear from the water. She stayed hidden and took out a Batarang just in case. Killer Croc began trying to sniff out the girl as he let's out a loud hiss. It appears he is getting closer and closer to her when he smelled something familiar.

"Batman," said Killer Croc as he got his scent. "I am coming for you and I will devour you," he said as he jumps back into the water.

Batgirl sighed in relief that Killer Croc took off, but realized he is heading for Batman. If he is fighting Scarecrow then he is in danger of fighting both criminals. She activated her rocket boots and took off. To save her father before Killer Croc gets to him.

Meanwhile

Batman began waking up as he found himself strapped to a gurney and looks around to see the Joker before him. With him is Harley Quinn, Maul, and one of Joker's men as they begin taking him down the same hallway he was in just before blacking out. Batman knew this was an illusion and yet he couldn't break free of his binds. Crane's illusions felt more realistic than before.

"He don't look so big and scary now, does he, Mr. J?" Harley asked as she held an automatic rifle in her hand.

Batman looks over to the other side of the hallway he sees his sister, Ahsoka, Lux, Obi Wan, Tatsu, Cassandra, and Alfred all being escorted away by Joker's men. All in chains and all being treated like criminals.

This made Batman upset as he again tried to break free from his restraints. They soon stop near the door as he sees Scarecrow waiting for them.

"Just got to check your prisoner, dear," said Scarecrow as he held a holopad in his hand.

"Whatever, just be quick! He's not looking too good," said Harley as she let's Scarecrow do his work.

"No, he's not. We really should feel sorry for him. He never fully got over his parents' death. It left him quite insane," said Scarecrow as Batman again tried breaking his restraints. "What is going on inside your head, Wayne? Bah, he's gone! Just a twisted shell of a man. He's all yours, Joker!"

The Joker walks up and took out a blaster. "I've waited a long time for this, Bats. Let's start the party."

He aims at the blaster at him, but Batman breaks free of his retrains and moves the blaster away. As shots were fired and hits one of Joker's men. Maul tried to use his weapon, but Batman moves the Joker's arm in the way as the lightsaber cuts through the arm. He grabs Maul and punched him in the face.

Harley tried to shoot at him, but Batman got his feet freed and kicks her away. He got off the gurney and grabs Crane by the collar and lifts him up.

"You don't scare me, Crane," said Batman refusing to let Scarecrow stop him.

"Oh, but you will be…" soon Scarecrow disappeared along with the other criminals as the room began transforming. "You will be soon and I will destroy your mind!"

Batman looks around to see he is in another disoriented world. He looks behind him to find a grave with his name on a tombstone. He ignored it and followed a path that takes him up into a medical room. He looks over in some cells craze versions of himself, but he too ignored this since it is one of Crane's illusions.

He jumps over a large hole and makes it to the other side where he sees another one of his crazed forms near a large pendulum swinging back and forth. He can hear Crane's laughter echoing around this world. With a large swirling whirlpool below this world.

Batman used his rocket boots to fly to the other side just as Crane's hand appeared over the piece of building that is hiding Batman from his sight.

"What are you doing, little Bat?" said Scarecrow as he begins looking for Batman, while laughing at him.

Batman got passed his sight and made it to the other side, but as he heads across this world, Crane's hand appears. He brought his needle fingers down and summoned several skeleton soldiers. Batman tossed Batarang at them as the weapons exploded and took out the skeleton men. He continued making his way through this world as he continued to hide from Crane's eyes.

Keeping himself out of sight and hiding wherever he could hide himself. He also came across other Scarecrow forms that appear to be attacking versions of himself and torturing them to break them.

He finds a large container going back and forth to one side of this world to another. Batman used his grappling gun to get ahold of the container. As he uses it to make it to where he is at tot the other side. All without Crane seeing him as the foe continued to seek out the Batman.

He makes it to the other side and used his rocket boots to fly up a large tower. There he finds the Bat-Signal. He rushes over to activate it, but the moment he did he began breaking out of the illusion. He could see himself fighting Scarecrow in real life as he tried to stop him.

"I think you need a little more!" said Scarecrow as he injected more of his Fear serum into Batman's arm. "Tell me, what demons you have left to beat? Shall we see?"

This causes Batman to snap back into the illusion in his head as he fell from the tower and lands in an open field. Before him is the large Scarecrow and three searchlights. All that have the Bat-Signal. Batman goes to get them, but suddenly more skeleton monsters appeared. Blocking his path from getting to the lights.

"Oh, I won't rush things this time," said Scarecrow as his monsters appeared to stop Batman. "I'm going to savor every moment of your terror as I slowly destroy you."

One of the skeletons charges at Batman with a sword. Batman grabs it by the handle and kicks the skeleton away. He then uses the weapon to take out the skeletons. At least using the unshapen side of the sword as he hits the other skeletons in the face with it.

He rushes over and kicks one right in the chest and knocks him into the metal wall. Two more charge at him, but he delivers a roundhouse kick and takes them out. The rest came at him, but Batman tosses miniature shock grenades at them. The grenades exploded an shocked the remaining skeleton monsters taking them down.

As soon as he did that the first searchlight turned on. Weakening him, but it didn't seem to concern Scarecrow. "You're fighting back. Good," said Scarecrow as a larger skeleton monster appeared. "It can only weaken your resolve."

It let out a similar roar as one of the Titan monsters as it charges at Batman. Batman took out a Batarang and hits it in the face. Exploding as it releases some smoke. Blinding the monsters as he missed Batman and hits the wall head first before shattering into pieces.

This causes the second spotlight to turn on as Scarecrow could not believe Batman is still fighting him. "How much more do you think you can take? Does it scare you to know that I have almost defeated you?"

More of the skeletons began to appear from the ground as Batman used his explosive gel to surround the ground near him. As soon as they charged at him Batman used the detonator to explode. Taking out the skeletons, except for another large skeleton monster. It appeared and charges at Batman.

Batman moved out of the way and threw another Batarang to the face. Again, this blinds the skeleton monster and crashed into the wall. Batman leaps on his back and wraps his arm around his neck. He forces the monster to again charge at the wall and hits it again before being shattered as Batman jumped off before the impact.

Soon the third spotlight turned on as all three blind Scarecrow. Batman pushes all three to face Scarecrow and destroys this nightmare world. Freeing Batman of this world and Crane's control. Batman sees he is back in the hallway with his hand wrapped around Crane's neck, from his side of the cell.

Scarecrow is on the other side in disbelief that Batman broke free of the illusion. "How are you doing this?" Scarecrow injects more into Batman's arm, but finds it isn't working anymore. "You've ingested enough toxins to drive 10 men insane," the injection caused Batman to loosen his grip on Crane and gets him freed. "What are you?"

Batman shakes his head and managed to fight off the illusion. But now he needs to go stop Crane once and for all.

He follows Crane down the elevator shaft as he sees his foe head into the sewer tunnel. Scarecrow appears to be holding some sort of bag in his hand as he stops near the water.

"It's over, Crane," said Batman as he prepares to take Scarecrow down.

"Too late, Batman!" said Scarecrow as he held the bag out. "One step closer…and this goes into the water," he shows the bag and Batman knew it contains Crane's Fear Gas. "The cave will fill with your deepest, darkest nightmares and you will never reach your precious Venom roots."

"Don't do it, Crane!" said Batman as he knew he had to stop Crane.

Suddenly from out of the water, Killer Croc appeared and grabs Scarecrow. This caused him to drop the bag on the ground as Croc goes to bite Crane. Batman tossed a Batarang into the shock collar as it electrocutes Croc. Killer Croc roared in pain, but refused to let go.

It wasn't until another Batarang hits his collar that caused him to take Crane into the water. Batman looks over to see Batgirl on the other side as she held a vile in her hand.

"I have…the samples!" she shouted, until Killer Croc appeared from the water in front of her.

"I will make you pay for harming me, child!" said Killer Croc as he backs the girl back into his lair.

"Batgirl! Hang on!" Batman goes to save her, but Killer Croc grabs the cell door and pulls it down blocking Batman from getting in.

"I will devour your ward, Batman and then you are next!" said Killer Croc as he turns to the girl as she backed away from him. "Now die!"

Killer Croc charges at her, but Batgirl tossed a Batarang at the collar shocking him. The monster roared in pain as Batgirl leaps over him and rushes over to the cell door as Batman tries lifting it. Killer Croc noticed this and roared in anger. Doing his best to ignore the pain he charges at Batgirl.

Batgirl took out a detonator and Batman took notice of this. Killer Croc though was in feral mode that he didn't notice explosive gel on the ground near Batgirl. The moment he got close she activated the gel and it explodes beneath the monster. The floor breaks away and Killer Croc falls down into the large hole where he disappeared into the darkness.

Batman lifts the cell door and allows Batgirl to escape. He turns to her and kneels down in front of her.

"You all right?"

Batgirl nods as she shows the vial. "Got the samples…to make the cure."

Batman is given the vial and he turns to his daughter proud of her. "Good work. Let's get back to the Batcave and make the cure."

Medical Facility

Obi Wan is helping load up the last of the detonators to use to destroy the laser field to get the ship through. They also managed to save the last remaining hostages they could find and get them in the ship. Obi Wan managed to also get some volunteers to help place the detonators to put on the lasers. To help make a path for the ship so they can get the hostages out.

They also went through Hera Syndulla's fighter to gather tools just in case they run into trouble. Hera is in the cockpit getting the ship ready as her droid, Chopper finishes checking everything. Once they get to the Republic ships they will be able to use the path to send in more fighters to help liberate the planet. Assuming Batman hasn't already taken care of the Joker and the inmates.

Obi Wan finished loading the last supplies as he turns to Aaron Cash. "I trust there are no more hostages left?"

Aaron nods in response. "We got the last of the hostages out, including the Warden. Would have been easier without the crazies screaming before they attack us and Ivy's freaky plants firing those spores at us."

Obi Wan understood and knew this was a problem and hopefully they will be able to regain control once this is over. "Let's get going then before we run into more trouble."

Suddenly they hear the sound of the turrets that they left outside of the door open fire. Obi Wan could sense something is wrong and begins contacting Hera.

"Hera, what is going on up? Can you see what is happening?"

"Something is breaking through our defenses," said Hera as she sees through the video footage some sort of monster breaking through the turrets. "Whatever it is it's big and it's heading our way."

Obi Wan could sense a familiar dark presence and knew something is indeed wrong. "Cash, get the men inside and let's get out of here."

Cash nods in response until they see the door being broken through. Obi Wan sees this too and knew they didn't have time to get the ship out of here. Not unless someone buys them time. He uses the Force to send the men inside and close the door behind them.

"Hera! Whatever happens do not stop for me," said Obi Wan giving the girl her orders. "Get them out of here and keep them safe."

"General Kenobi, what are you doing?" Hera asked as she sees the door being broken through.

"Buying you all time," said Obi Wan as he activates his lightsaber and rushes to the door.

Hera knew she should try helping out General Kenobi, especially with what is breaking through the door. But she also sees Joker's men behind the monster and she knew she had to get the people out. She didn't like the idea of leaving someone behind, but she has to do what is right. She turns to Chopper and gets him ready for takeoff, while she has the doors open to fly out.

Obi Wan sees what appears to be something punching against the door. He wonders if this is one of Joker's Titan monsters that he was told about. The punching stopped for a moment, until both doors are punched off the hitches and send flying towards the Jedi Master. He leaps out of the way as the doors just barely missed him.

He looks over and is surprised to see the monster that is attacking them, is a mutated Darth Maul. He appeared in the room as he lets out a loud roar. He was the same size as Bane in his Titan form, the spikes on his head grew longer, his face looks crooked with one half looking normal, while the other half looks monstrous. The formula also appears to have given him back his legs, his body looks muscular, his skin appears dark red, and his eyes are glowing green.

Obi Wan used the Force to lift up one of the doors and tossed it at Maul. The Titan Maul gets hit, but seems unfazed.

Obi Wan tosses the other, but Maul catches it and tosses it back at the Jedi. Obi Wan turns to Maul as the monster rushes towards him. He tries leaping over the monster, but Maul used the Force to send him flying into some crates. Maul begins tossing the crates off of Obi Wan and grabs him before tossing him across the room.

Obi Wan tried to catch his breath as Maul charged at him again, but this time the Jedi summoned his weapon and stabs Maul in the gut with it. The monster looks down and simply laughs as he grabs Kenobi and tosses him into the air. Maul leaps up and using both his fists punched Obi Wan down to the ground. Obi Wan crashed to the ground as he coughs up some blood.

Maul lands nearby and began laughing until he hears the sound of the ships' engines turning on. The Joker's men came in opening fire on the ship, but the shields protected the ship. It tries to take off, but Maul used the Force to keep it from flying away. The ship struggled to get out of the monster's grip, but Maul will not let them escape.

Obi Wan recovered in time to see what is happening and knew he had to do something. He spots Maul's lightsaber attached to his waist and grabs it. He activates it and stabs the monster's leg. This caught Maul's attention as he kicks Kenobi in the gut and sends him into the wall.

This distraction allowed the ship to be free. Hera punches it as the ship flies out of the facility and into orbit to get through the laser field. Maul growled in anger when he saw the hostages escaped. However, the Joker's men grab Obi Wan and lift him up as the monster approached his foe.

He grabs Kenobi and was prepared to kill him, when the Joker appeared. "Hold it, hold it, hold it!"

"Get out…of my face…clown!" said Maul as he spoke in a monstrous voice.

"Which one?" the Joker asked.

Maul appears insulted by the joke and goes to kill him, when more Titan monsters appeared to stop him. "Now, now Maul. No need to be so hostile. If you want to kill Kenobi, go right ahead. However, if you want to kill him and Batman at the same time then wouldn't that be more fun?"

Maul thought about what the Joker said and couldn't help but feel that makes more sense. Maybe it is the Titan formula messing with his mind, but he did want to make not just Kenobi pay. But he also wanted to make the Batman and his ward pay. Pay for his capture and his defeat.

He wants them all to die and wants to be the one to do it. With all of them watching.

"Fine…but betray me…and I will kill you…" said Maul as he begins leaving the room.

The Joker motions for his men to grab Kenobi as he took the two lightsabers from both Force users. All while he begins to laugh as they head back for the party.

That's the end of the chapter and hope everyone likes how things went. Yep, Maul is now a Titan monster, but not in control of himself huh? Think the Joker did something in the formula to make him like this? Wouldn't surprise anyone right?

It also looks like Batgirl and Batman took care of both their problems at the same time huh? Is Scarecrow gone for good? Is Croc gone for good too? Or are they both alive?

Also, yeah the Killer Croc level could have gone longer in the story, but felt like there wasn't much to add into it. Just find the plant, throw the Batarang at Croc, and escape. Not much there. Although, if you play it on hard level it makes it more challenging and suspenseful.
