Just doing my best to make enough money, but I hope everyone will understand and not get pissed that this is taking a while.
Anyways, I want to thank everyone for the support and for the patience. I appreciate it guys. Also thank you to my friend for their support on this story along with my other ones too. I appreciate it and hope you're doing well.
Now then, last time we saw Batman heading off to see who hired Maul to speak with him. While we saw Batgirl confront her mother, who was sent to kill her. How will things go this time? Who is this mysterious person who send Maul?
Tune in today to find out and time for the disclaimer. I don't own anything from the DC or Star Wars universe just my OCs. Also: Bold- means thoughts & Italic- will mean what an alien is saying in their native language. Now let's continue with the story and enjoy the chapter!
Story III: Chapter XVII
Arkham City
Robin and Batgirl await in the former police station with Victor Fries aka Mr. Freeze. Both waited for him to finish the cure to help save Batman, even the Joker's. Much to their dismay. All the while they wait for Batman to return.
Batgirl informed Robin what happened with her mother and with Maul. Robin didn't like the idea of his father going to meet this mysterious man that Maul told him about. But he knew nothing he says was going to change his father's mind. Whoever this man is, they need to find out.
Maybe he might have information about Thrawn's plan.
As much as the two wanted to go find Batman, they had to stay with Freeze. They knew they needed him to finish making the cure. So, that they can give it to Batman and save his life. Thankfully, with Ra's blood, it won't take too long for them to get the cure.
Nearby, Freeze's wife is inside her cryotube. While surrounded by a shield barrier that Freeze had made. He didn't want to risk any harm coming to her in case they got under attacked. Something he knew might happen if the Joker or Thrawn come for them.
So, while Freeze works on the cure, Batgirl and Robin are seen across the room by the door. Telling Oracle everything, while getting some information themselves.
"The good news is the cure should be finished soon. In about fifteen minutes," said Robin as he explains that Freeze wanted to analyze the blood, make some samples just in case. "Once Batman returns, we'll give him the cure. The bad news is, we don't know when he'll get here to take it."
"Don't worry. He's not going to let whoever hired Maul keep him from getting that cure," said Oracle knowing her brother isn't going to waste too much time. "I'll have Alfred keep trying to reach him. To make sure he hurries up when his vitals get worse again."
"I should have stayed with him," said Batgirl who felt guilty for not staying with her father. "This could all be a trap by Maul in order to kill father and try to escape."
"Batgirl, it's okay. Batman knows what he's doing. He's not going to let anything get in his way. No matter who hired Maul," Oracle also doubts Maul would try picking a fight, especially if he knows what Thrawn is up to. "I am concerned that Maul seems to know or have an idea what Thrawn's plan is. Hopefully we'll find out soon enough."
"Well, let's hope once father has the cure, we'll have enough time to go in and finish Thrawn," said Robin knowing they have to hurry before it's too late.
"And once this is over, I'll inform the Council to please have Freeze and his wife be placed in my care," said Oracle knowing they'll keep their end of the deal with Freeze. "Assuming he's still willing to accept our deal?"
Batgirl nods in response as she turns to where Freeze is working. "Despite him not having any trust in any of you, he trusts me. I've earned it by saving his wife. I know he will agree to do it. If it means saving his wife's life."
"A task that won't be easy," said Oracle knowing that the cure that Nora has is a very rare one to cure. "Still, it's never stopped me before. I've been working out some ways to cure her, but never got a chance to test it on anyone with her illness."
"Then let's hope you'll be able to when this is over," said Robin who is hoping when this is over, they'll deal with one less villain. "Speaking of illnesses, how's it looking on your end? With the people I mean."
"So far? It's going well," Oracle shows how many of the cure they've administrated to the public, but knew they still have ways to go. "We've only managed to create enough of the cure for those in critical condition. They're stable, but they'll be kept overnight. As for those who haven't reached the final stages, they'll get the cure in the next few hours."
"I'm glad to hear that," said Batgirl who's glad that the cure is making its way to the public. "By the way, any news on what the Council is going to do? You know since Sharp has been brought to the prison?"
"From what Padme told me, the Council is setting up an emergency meeting. For the time being, Tarkin and the Council has made sure the public don't know about the chancellor's disappearance," this may be one of the only good times that Oracle is happy that Tarkin is on their side. "They know if the public or even the Senate find out, it will cause a panic. You add the poison from the Joker to chaos in Arkham City, and then this?"
"It will cause more chaos," said Robin knowing what will happen if the truth comes out. "But the Council and Tarkin don't know Thrawn was behind the kidnapping."
"Just Master Kenobi, Windu, and Yoda," Oracle knew the rest of the Council didn't need to know just yet. "Without more proof, we won't be able to convince the rest of the Council, much less Tarkin about what Thrawn did."
Oracle knew that convincing the Council wouldn't be a huge task, but Tarkin though. Despite what they found with his involvement within the Arkham Prison, he wasn't punished. Even that incident didn't hurt his reputation, much less Amanda Waller's. They still held a huge influence within the high-class society and members of the military.
"For the time being, we'll need to keep them out of the loop of this. Until this is over," Oracle only hopes that once this is over, they'll put a new chancellor in charge that won't be corrupted. "Now then, you two do me a favor and please keep an eye on Freeze. Once I'm told that Batman is on his way, then I'll contact you both. Secure the facility and make sure no one breaks in, okay?"
"Understood," said Batgirl before ending the transmission. "I just hope once father gets the cure that we'll have plenty of time to go stop Thrawn."
"Same," said Robin who knew with Thrawn knowing their secret, that he will try to attack their home. "If he also knows that we have the cure, then he'll likely send some soldiers this way too."
"Then we better do what Oracle told us to do and secure the area," said Batgirl as she took off to secure the back part of the facility, while Robin heads to do the same for the front.
As he walks past Freeze, he stops when the iceman called him. "Come here a moment," said Mr. Freeze as he begins placing a few vials inside a machine. "I'm going to need your assistance here."
Robin wasn't sure if he should help him and just call out for Batgirl to help him. Mostly because he still didn't trust Freeze. Yes, he knows that Batgirl does, but he didn't. Something about him still made him unable to trust him.
Still, he knew if it involves the cure for his father, then he should see what he needs.
Robin walks over but kept his guard up as he waits to see what Freeze wants. Mr. Freeze turns to the boy before he motions to a button.
"In five minutes, I'm going to need you to activate the machine once I finish combining the enzymes from the blood you brought me to complete the cure," Mr. Freeze begins to explain as he turns to his computer monitor. "This will finish making the cure for your father, the clown, and anyone in Arkham City that might need it. But I'm going to need you to activate the button once I tell you to press it since this needs to be done within a few seconds."
Robin didn't know why Freeze needed him for this part, since he figured he'd just press the button himself. He decided not to argue about it and just nods in response. He watches him work on his computer, while waiting to press the button. While hoping these three minutes will pass by fast.
As Robin waits, Mr. Freeze begins once again speaking to him. While his back is turned to him.
"I understand why you don't trust me and your feelings are not unfounded. I know what I've done. I know the crimes I've committed against the people across the galaxy. Crimes that I know I can never be forgiven by everyone."
Victor knew all the people he's harmed, frozen, and yes some even were killed. Mostly those like Ferris Boyle who transformed Fries into the monster he's become.
"Despite this though, the Batman and your little companion never gave up on me. They worked hard to try helping me. To stop me from what I was doing. I of course refused, since because of what happened with the last person I put my trust in, I couldn't trust them," said Mr. Freeze knowing that since Boyle's betrayal, he couldn't trust anyone. "Yet, that didn't stop them from trying. It didn't stop them from trying to help me."
Robin knew that despite all that Freeze had done, he wasn't wrong. His father and sister, both kept on trying to help people like Freeze. Trying to help them regain their sanity and help them get better. Hell, Cassandra helped turn Clayface of all people good.
Even with all the crimes he's committed, Cassandra never gave up on him.
"Your companion even risked her life to save my wife and bring her here. I am grateful for what she's done and that's why I'm doing what she asked me to do, and yet…" Mr. Freeze stops himself as he lets out a small sigh. "And yet, despite all of this, a part of me is telling me not to trust you all. Not to trust you, because in the end, you won't keep your promise. That you will somehow betray me, and I'll be locked away. Far from my beloved, Nora."
Victor did want to put his trust in these young heroes. To trust that they will keep their word. That they will provide him a lab to help him continue his work to save his wife. He really wants to, but the memories of what Boyles did keeps him from completely trusting them.
Robin knew Freeze…Victor has his reasons for not trusting them. Just like he has his reasons for not trusting him. Both are worried the other will betray them and can't put their full trust in them. Leaving them both on their guard.
Despite this though, Robin knew if his father was here or hell even his sister, they'd try reassuring Victor to that he can trust them. That they'll keep their word and that he has to try giving them a chance.
Robin wasn't good at this though. He wasn't the type to give these kinds of talks, especially due to his mistrust in criminals like Victor. Maybe he doesn't have to say what he knew his father and sister will say. Maybe being honest will be the best direction to go with?
"You have every right not to trust us. With what you had to deal with, I understand this completely, especially how I don't trust you myself," Robin began to speak, which seems to have gotten the snowman's attention as he turns to the boy wonder. "I always saw you as someone who is unwilling to change. Unwilling to stop hurting innocent people. Someone who will never change. Just like most of the people trapped in this prison."
Robin turns towards where Nora is kept, helping him see though that perhaps he was wrong. That the lessons he was taught before meeting father kept him from seeing beyond what his mother taught him.
"But maybe that's because of how I was raised. Maybe what I needed was the Batman to help me see beyond what others see you all as monsters. And see someone like you as a good man. Who just needs a helping hand to help you move towards a better path than the one your on," said Robin before he turns his attention back to Freeze and continues to speak. "Maybe that's all people like you deserve. A second chance."
Victor listens to the words from the boy and couldn't help but admire how despite everything that has happened in this galaxy, there still exists good people like him. People that are willing to help those like him be given second chances. He isn't sure if he even deserves one for all he's done. But perhaps what the boy says is true.
All he needs is the help from someone to put him on that path to do good. Maybe…maybe this time, he can put his trust in the right people.
Victor looks to see the five minutes is ending and finishes with the final sequence to help finish the cure. He motions for the boy to press the button and soon the machine finished. He pools out one of the vials and analyzes it. Seeing that it's ready.
"Perhaps, it's time for me to trust in the right people, one more time," said Victor as he hands the cure over to the boy.
Robin gladly took the vial and puts it away. "Thank you."
Victor gives him a small nod, while still surprised he got a thank you from someone. After all this time.
Before they have a chance to celebrate though, Victor's suit begins alerting him of danger. Looking at his suit, he sees what's going on just as the building began to shake.
"What's going on?" Robin asked as he heard what sounds like an explosion from outside.
"Trouble," Mr. Freeze as he uses his suit to show a hologram of what's going on outside. "It seems the clown's girlfriend is here for the cure."
Robin sees it was indeed Harley Quinn. Along with what looks like almost a hundred-armed goons. All with advanced weaponry that clearly came from the TYGER Guards. Along with an old Republic AT-TE Walker, which was firing at the building.
Victor begins activating the facility's shield to surround the building, but he knows with most of the energy going into keeping his wife's cryo-tube safe, he knew it won't last long.
"We need to get out of here," said Mr. Freeze turns to Robin. "Go fetch your companion. I'll finish putting away the rest of the cures and get my wife ready to be moved."
Victor knew there's another safe place they can go in the city. One that has its own power source to help keep his wife's cryo-tube operational.
Robin understood and took off to find Batgirl. While contacting Oracle and letting her know what's going on. Hoping that once he tells her what's going on, that Batman will head over to help them. Because with how many enemies waiting outside for them, he isn't sure they'll be able to get out of here in one piece.
Jedi Temple
The Council had finished handing Tarkin the information that they had acquired. Regarding the chancellor being kidnapped and being put in Arkham City. This didn't the meeting go all that well. Mainly because they had no clue how to get the chancellor out since Thrawn has claimed he doesn't know how this could have happened and can't find the chancellor.
He's given the Council his word he'll find him, but there's no telling where he could be. The Council didn't believe this, since they knew Thrawn is a man who's in control. It's very unlikely that he wouldn't know where the chancellor is at without him knowing about it. But without proof, they can't do anything about it.
Tarkin seem to believe him and is reassured that he'll keep him up to date on whatever he finds.
In the meantime, Tarkin will keep the Senate from finding out and will work to find out how this happened. While he has the Council focus on the other current situation, the Joker's poison blood.
Master Yoda, Windu, and Kenobi are seen walking down the hallway. After their meeting, the Council has sent many of their own to the locations that the Batman's allies had send them, which contain patience infected with the Joker's poison blood. To make sure no one finds out about this and make sure the antidote is administrated. While trying to figure out a way to lie about this, so the public won't panic.
"Master Secura has reported that they've received the containers with the antidote from Ms. Wayne," said Obi-Wan as he explains the news they have so far. "Master Kit Fisto, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Shaak Ti, and Luminara are reporting the same thing. If we keep this up, we'll be able to get to the remaining patients soon."
"That's good to hear. I've informed Caleb Dume to take a few Jedi with him to ensure there's no more people with the same symptoms," said Master Windu who knew the last thing they need is finding out more people got sick with the poison.
"Make sure we must that the people are safe. That all will be cured of the poison from the Joker," said Master Yoda who knew that as long as they can do this, then no innocent lives will be lost. "Come up with a lie now we must. To explain what happened to the people."
"I've let Master Quinlan Vos and Cin Drallig figure out a proper lie to tell the people," said Master Kenobi who knew they couldn't let the people find out what the Joker did. "Still, I get the feeling our night is far from over."
"Agreed," said Master Yoda who knew with what's been going on, this night feels like it's only just started. "Apprehended the Riddler, have we?"
"I've sent Master Plo Koon to bring in the Riddler, who it seems was working in the security facility used by Thrawn and his TYGER guards," Master Windu figures they'll be able to get some information out of him, so they can try tying him to whatever Thrawn is planning.
"Hmm doubtful of that, I'm afraid," said Master Yoda who doubts they'll get anything out of the Riddler. "Know us too well Riddler does. Tell us anything, he will not. Keep it hidden from us, until the Batman can stop Thrawn. Hmm if he can."
Master Kenobi seems surprised that Master Yoda is doubting Batman can succeed. "He's never let us down before and I doubt he will now."
Master Windu on the other felt that Master Yoda may be right. "I wish I could believe that, but with everything that's happening and how Thrawn seems to be one step ahead of the Batman. There's no telling if he can stop this madness soon enough."
"I know things seem bleak, but that won't stop the Batman from succeeding in his mission. And it won't stop us from doing the same too," said Master Kenobi knowing that they will keep on fighting to protect the people, no matter what.
Master Yoda seems to agree with this but knew it won't be easy. "Uncertain we are of what the future holds tomorrow. But sense I do that something bad will happen. Something afraid I am that we cannot stop."
Master Windu knew for a good reason why the elder Jedi Master feels this way. "Thrawn has close ties with the chancellor's council, in charge of Arkham City. With the Chancellor Sharp in the city, the Joker's poison blood infecting the citizens of Coruscant, and now reports that many of the criminals within the prison have acquired weapons, there's a possibility they'll do whatever he wants. That's why stopping him will be almost impossible. Unless we can figure out what he's up to."
"Even follow whatever Thrawn suggests," at that moment, Obi-Wan began to realize something. "Master Yoda, the Jedi Council been informed what the procedures are for Arkham City? What protocols they will follow if the prison gets out of control?"
Master Yoda shook his head knowing that the Jedi have been excluded out of anything involving the prison city. "Chancellor Sharp made sure the Jedi not get involved with his prison or anything connecting to it," but Master Yoda suspects that Obi-Wan knew something. "Figure out something, you have?"
Master Kenobi nods in response, while hoping it isn't going to be true. "We know that Thrawn mentioned to the Batman that his plan involves something called Protocol 10. Yet we couldn't find any information about it, even from the Riddler's files. However, what if…what if everything that has happened, from the Joker's blood, the weapons, and to the chancellor's kidnapping, is part of Thrawn's plan? His plan to initiate whatever Protocol 10 is."
"And with the chancellor out of the way, Thrawn can force the council to follow through whatever it is," said Master Windu as he sees where Obi-Wan is going with this. "We need to speak with the chancellor's council immediately. We need to find out what Protocol 10 is."
Master Yods nods in agreement with Master Windu. "Go find the council. Speak to them at once," he then turns towards Obi-Wan. "Inform the Batman's allies of this. Warn them, we must."
Obi-Wan nods as he takes off to get in contact with the Batman's allies. Hoping that he concluded will help them in figuring out what Thrawn is up to. If the council won't tell them anything, he can at least hope the others will find out and stop Thrawn. Before he can go through with whatever Protocol 10 is.
Arkham City
Batman glides across the city towards the location this unknown employer of Maul. Batman knew whoever this person was, was not to be trusted. If they could keep Maul on a leash and prevent him from trying to take his revenge on them, then that tells him this person is dangerous. Not everyone he knows can control a powerful Sith like Maul, so it's someone he's never met.
Batman sees where the coordinates are taking him and immediately recognized the area. An all too familiar one.
He lands on the ground and decides he'll walk the rest of the way. Near him, stood a large building. An abandoned theater that Batman recognized all too well. He walks over to see the poster of an old film that he watched here, when he was young.
Walking around the building, he spots an all too familiar alleyway, which has been closed off by a fence. Batman leaps over it and looks up at a nearby lamp post. Attached to the post is a sign to show what this alleyway is. The sign reads 'Crime Alley'.
Batman looks away from there and begins making into the dark alleyway. All the while he begins flashing back to what happened here and why it's so familiar to him.
"I can't believe you insisted on sitting through that movie again, Daniel," spoke the voice of an older man. A man that was Batman's…no, Daniel's father. "Come on. We'll be late for Alfred."
"I'm sorry, daddy," spoke a very young Daniel as Batman kept walking down the alleyway.
"Go easy on him Tom," spoke Daniel's mother, Martha, and how she tried to comfort her son. "He loved it so. Alfred will wait. He has to make sure Abigail is well enough before he comes. Keep up, Daniel."
Batman kept on walking down the alley, but his walking soon began to slow down as his memories of that night continued pouring in.
"Where are you taking us?" Martha asked towards her husband.
"We can cut through here," said Tom as he led his family through the alleyway.
"But it's starting to rain. Daniel is tired. Can't we just wait for him here?" Martha asked referring to Alfred who will come by to pick them up.
"Come on. Keep up. We're nearly there," said Tom as he insisted on cutting through the alley.
Batman soon turns the corner and sees one single light illuminating around one spot. A spot that Batman recognized as he again takes small steps towards it as the memories continue to flash through his mind.
"Hold it there, lady!" an older man with a disoriented voice spoke as he aimed his blaster at the couple and their son.
"Oh God!" Martha yelled as she tries to shield her son.
"Please. There's no need for this," said Tom as he tried to plead with the stranger.
"Stay where you are. I'll shoot!" said the disoriented voice threatening the couple and their child.
"I'll give you whatever you want," said Tom as he tries to reason with the stranger.
Suddenly the sound of a blaster going off erupted as Batman closed his eyes. Feeling his body shake from the blaster shot. Before hearing it again as his mother cried out for her husband before she got shot.
Batman felt his body suddenly freeze when he felt the bright over his body. Opening his eyes, he looks down to see a chalk outline of two bodies. One of a man and a woman, both were his parents. Batman…Daniel kneels and placed his hand down on the cold concrete, where his parents died.
Despite his sister's insisted that it wasn't his fault. That she didn't blame him for what happened and despite him accepting what happened, he still blamed himself. He knew if he hadn't convinced his parents to see the movie, they'd still be alive. And maybe, his future could have turned out differently.
All their futures could have turned out differently. Despite this though, he knew he couldn't change the past and has accepted this. Just as his sister has accepted this. And never blamed him for the death of their parents.
Batman's attention though turns towards a banquet of flowers. One he didn't notice before or perhaps would have if he didn't get caught up in his flashback.
Picking it up, he sees there's a note on it that says 'It will end where it began' from Thrawn. Batman grips tightly the flowers, before noticing an Imagecaster attached to it.
He begins to play it as a hologram of Thrawn appeared.
"How does it feel, Wayne?" Thrawn began to speak. "To stand on the very stones that ran with your parents' blood. Do you feel sad? Full of rage? Or does that outfit help better your feelings?" as he said this, Batman's fists begin to clench.
"Hiding your true self," the hologram continued to play as Thrawn kept his arms behind his back, while speaking down on the Batman. "You are truly an extraordinary specimen. Perhaps in another lifetime, you could have been a better service to the Republic and its people. Instead of running around like a spoiled child, crying out for mommy and daddy. I look forward to breaking you and ending the chaos you have brought on to the galaxy."
Batman ends up destroying the messenger, before tossing the pieces away. He should have known Thrawn would do something like this. Trying to get into his head. And using the location of where his parents died to continue trying to mess with him.
If this was years ago, oh yeah he would have gone after Thrawn and beat the hell out of him. But he knew he couldn't. He knew he had to keep his composure. Thrawn is doing this to make him make a mistake.
To be filled with anger and rage so that when they do meet, he'll have the advantage over him. Batman managed to calm himself, before looking down at the flowers. He grabs them and begins throwing them away. He won't let Thrawn desecrate his family's death with Thrawn's games.
As he did this, a figure appeared behind Batman. Afigure wearing a white, tunic-like costume with a red cross symbol on the chest, and red armor underneath the tunic. A face mask covering his nose and mouth, while wearing a white hood covering his head. He also appears to be wearing a red cape, boots, spiked wrist gauntlets, and a metal sword in hand.
Batman though that he was behind him, while the figure begins moving his weapon up. Batman prepared to counterattack, but then the figure brings his blade down on the ground and begins to speak.
"I knew you would find me," said the mysterious figure.
"It wasn't hard. Your messenger told me where I'd find you," said Batman as he looks around the alleyway. "I hope you aren't with Thrawn, because I'm not in the mood for more of his games."
"No. I am not with Thrawn nor with any of your enemies," the mysterious figure replied while understanding Batman's anger. "I apologize for choosing this location. It was not my intent, but I have my reason for it."
"It better be a damn good reason. Who are you and what do you want?" Batman asked wondering who this guy is, and why he wanted to speak with him.
The mysterious figure understood and revealed who he is. "We have been given many names, but you will come to know me as Azrael, loyal servant to the Order of Revan."
Revan. Batman recognized the name from the archives of the Jedi Order. "As in Darth Revan. The former Jedi turned Sith Lord, then turned back to the light?"
"The very same," Azrael replied while trying to reassure the Batman of his order's intentions. "Do not fear, Batman. I understand that Revan's actions in the past have left him seen as only a Sith. But returning to the light, he aided the forces of good in defeating the Sith Empire and freeing the galaxy. And his bloodline continued to live on through those who lead his order."
Great. Just exactly what Batman had to deal with. Another secret society. Only this one is led by those who followed a former Sith Lord.
"What do you and your organization want with me?" Batman asked wondering what this group want. Hopefully not to join them or to be their successor.
"I bring a message," Azrael replied before he begins delivering that message. "Dark days are coming, Batman. The prophecy is coming true. You are the warrior who will close the gates of hell. You are the one who will save this day and in doing so events will occur that you cannot stop. From the ashes of Arkham, the fires will rage, and the galaxy will burn. And you, you will burn too."
Well, isn't this the most morbid message he's ever been given. And the darkest prophecy he's ever heard before too.
"I don't believe in fairy tales," Batman replied.
"Believe what you will. The message has been delivered. We will meet again," said Azrael as he prepares to leave, but Batman stops him.
"Wait. What do you know about what Thrawn is planning? What's Protocol 10?" Batman asked hoping he might have the answers he seeks.
"You know exactly what he's planning, Batman. You've seen the signs. You've seen his work. And the message you listened to has shown you that his focus is in the best interest of the Republic," said Azrael as he gives Batman the clues he needs to figure out Thrawn's plan. "Good luck, Batman. And may the Force be with you."
Soon, Azrael brings his weapon down once more, causing a bright light to engulf the masked man. Batman steps back from the light, before it beings to die down. Looking over, he sees that Azrael is gone. With no signs of where he disappeared.
Batman has learned number of ways for him to vanish without his enemy finding out. Using the shadows or even smoke bombs to help him disappear. Yet the way that Azrael disappeared was a new one. One he's never seen before.
His focus though went back to what he said before he left. Azrael telling him how he already knows what Thrawn is up to, and the clues are right there for him to figure it out.
Batman begins thinking back of those clues that he's been given, including the messenger from Thrawn. From Thrawn bringing the chancellor here, to him giving weapons to different crime groups, and even allowing the Joker's blood to get through his security to infect the public. Batman knew this didn't make sense. Thrawn looks out for what would make the Republic strong.
What can benefit it and who can be useful to help make it powerful. Doing all of this wouldn't help the Republic. All it would do is cause nothing but chaos within the prison city with the fighting. The threat of the people being poisoned by something else and even the threat of the prisoners escaping, which would result in the people in…
Soon the answer hit him straight in the face. He figured out now what Thrawn is up to and should have known this was his plan from the beginning.
"By doing all of this, the people would demand action against the prisoners. The same prisoners that the public already believe have no hope in rehabilitation. That they should be punished for their crimes, but not through incarnation. But through execution," Batman knew now what Thrawn is up to and knew this must be what Protocol 10 really is.
"Thrawn is going to…" Batman is soon interrupted by the sound of an explosion not far from here.
"Master Wayne. Are you there?" Alfred begins contacting Batman through his com-link, trying to reach him.
"I'm here, Alfred. What's going on?" Batman asked as he flies up to the rooftop to see where the noise came from.
"It's not good sir. I'm afraid the children need your help. Harley Quinn and her men are attacking the police station where they're holding up. They need you sir," said Alfred as he explains what's happening.
Hearing that his children are in danger caused Batman's focus to now turn to saving them. "Tell them to hang on. I'm on my way," Batman soon flies off towards the police station and save his kids from Harley Quinn.
That's the end of the chapter and looks like Azrael has arrived to the story. Now then, I went with his order being different from the game series for obvious reason. I also went with Revan, because well if you read about the guy, then you see even despite what he did, he still tried to do good in the end. Even after death, he didn't stop trying till he became one with the Force.
Also, for Robin's side of the story, the kid was raised by a group that believed criminals cannot be redeemed. That they must be killed for true justice to occur. While being raised by Batman, he could see a lot of criminals still refusing to change. To continue harming the innocent, despite all they've done to try stopping them.
Thankfully though, there's people like Cassandra that can show there is hope for some of these criminals. Clayface and Freeze are proof of that. So, this was to help him show there's hope for those who can be saved from the darkness they're in. Without killing them.
Anyways, that's it for this chapter. How will things go for our heroes next time? Will they be able to stop the Joker and Thrawn? Or will something else get in their way?
