Catwoman slowly opened her eyes and blinked several times. The first thing she saw was the ceiling which she did not recognize. She also knew for certain that she was lying on a different bed than her own.

Where am I?

Memories of the previous night came back to her, between the gunshot wound and Nightwing taking care of her.

Ah yes, that's right. I'm in the Nightcave.

She snorted in amusement at the name. She turned her head and saw the aforementioned hero deeply asleep in a chair. She had to do a double take to verify that he was seeing right.

Did he fall asleep in a chair to watch over me? Or did he not trust me to leave me wandering alone in the room?

Secretly she hoped it was the first option. She tried to sit up but the action caused her to grimace slightly in pain.

Apparently, this was enough to wake the vigilante as he shifted to a straighter position.

Light sleep, huh? Well, that makes sense: he is a Bat, after all.

He saw her and gave a slight smile. "Good morning."

She smiled back. "Good morning, pretty kitten."

"How are you?" he asked her, genuinely concerned.

Catwoman was struck to the heart by his sincere concern. "I'm fine and it's all thanks to you, pretty bird."

In response she got a shrug. "I couldn't take the risk of you bleeding to death. If Batman would have come to find out, I would have been in a lot of trouble." he joked.

She rolled her eyes. "Geez, thanks." he said dryly.

He chuckled and checked the clock attached to the wall next to them. "It's 8:30." he returned to look at her. "Do you want breakfast?"

The young thief's eyes widened slightly, surprised. "Am I going to stay here all day?" she asked stunned.

He gave her a confused look. "I thought it would be obvious. If you really wanted to go back to Gotham now, there would be a lot of people around to see you and they might find out your true identity."

He grimaced. "You're right."

For some strange reason, she was glad to be able to spend some free time with Nightwing. Then she noticed the first Robin's costume and saw that it was slightly covered in blood. She pointed to it. "There's blood on your suit."

He looked at her confused and lowered his gaze and realized. "I completely forgot about that. I'm going to go change. I should have some spare clothes for you as well." this time it was her turn to look at him confused and she explained further. "My ex girlfriend left some of her clothes here quoting "you might need them.""

Nightwing would never have understood Supergirl's reason for leaving her clothes in his apartment but now he was mentally thanking her.

She nodded and he smiled at her. "I'll go get you some clothes. I'll be back in a little while." and with that he left the room.

She sighed and sank into her crib. She did not know how to deal with Nightwing. She knew they were friends after all. But now she began to think whether this turn of events would change anything in their relationship or, once this was over, they would return to poking and sometimes fighting each other.

Not that she would ever admit it out loud, but she had had a crush on Nightwing since he was Robin. Only at the time she knew it was impossible to be with him, after all he spent most of his time with Batman; so she had tried to hide her feelings.

But now that he was completely independent and autonomous, she wondered if she had a chance with Nightwing. After all, she had a vague suspicion that her feelings were coming back stronger than before for the Dark Knight's first partner.

Then she remembered Dick and felt a great deal of guilt.

Just now she was slowly falling in love with Bruce's firstborn son as well.

She couldn't keep lying to him, but she also couldn't say "hi, I'm Catwoman and I'm in love with both you and Nightwing."

Sometimes, she hated having a double identity.

Then reality hit her fully.

She was Catwoman, the most famous thief in the world and also known for her constant flirting, and now she was really in love.

And with Nightwing, of all people.

Not that it was a bad thing, rather. She quietly admitted that he was a beautiful boy of many skills. She read in various newspapers that the Bludhaven vigilante had contributed many times and on the front lines to saving the whole world.

The problem was that probably, barring a miracle from some unknown deity, he would never reciprocate her feelings.

And even the thought of that made her heart ache.

This was enough for her to confirm her suspicions: she was in love with Nightwing. And also with Dick Grayson.

She did not know how long she had been immersed in her thoughts, but she came out of her state of contemplation when she heard the door close. She turned her head to see Nightwing, although he was wearing civilian clothes. He was wearing jeans and a casual black T-shirt. The only thing left of the suit was the mask to cover his identity.

He was carrying clothes, presumably for her. He laid them on the crib next to her. "Here you go. I think they should fit you by size."

She nodded and smiled gratefully at him. "Thank you, pretty kitten."

He smiled at her. "You're welcome. Now while you're getting dressed, I'll make breakfast. Is milk and cereal okay with you?" he asked, slightly embarrassed as he rubbed the back of his head with a small and shy smile.

He's so cute when he's shy! Damn, that doesn't help with the feelings I have for him!

She nodded once more. "I'm okay with them," she said simply.

He smiled at her one last time before leaving the room to prepare the first meal of the day.

Catwoman looked at the clothes. The pants were a dark blue color while the shirt was a red T-shirt.

As she changed her clothes she sometimes hissed in pain like a cat or winced from the pain in her side. Her ankle seemed to be fine. She was sure the pain in her side would be gone in a few days.

A few minutes passed and she finished putting on her clothes, obviously keeping her mask on. Next she saw Nightwing come in with two cups of milk and cereal.

"Here you go." he said as he handed her the breakfast.

She smiled at him in thanks and they began to eat their breakfast in silence. The silence was not uncomfortable. At least while she was eating she had a chance to look at every detail of the Nightcave.

She wondered curiously how the Batcaverna was organized.

They finished breakfast in a few minutes. After putting away the cups of milk, he turned a glance to her. "Can you get up?"

"I can try." she replied. She slowly got off the crib and stood up. She tried to walk slowly and found that her ankle was now fine and she could walk just fine. The only negative was that her hip ached from time to time, but she could live with that.

"So," Catwoman began with a smirk. "do you have anything in mind for how to spend the rest of the day? Because I have a few ideas in mind." she purred.

Nightwing turned to avoid showing her his flushed face. Apparently behaving normally with her would be much more difficult than he had initially thought.

And of course she was not going to make his life any easier.

The thief laughed, knowing that she was making the former Boy Wonder nervous.

My God, her laugh is so great...stop it Nightwing!

The vigilante heard a series of footsteps approaching him and turned, arching an eyebrow from beneath his mask.

Catwoman stopped a few inches away from the hero and looked up slightly, as the boy is a few inches taller than her.

She gently rested her hands on his muscular chest, never taking her eyes off his masked ones. Her body automatically moved toward him, even though her mind was screaming at her not to. But her body was moving on its own and she had no control over what she was doing.

Slowly her face moved closer to Nightwing's. Their noses brushed against each other. The girl could feel the warm breath blowing over her, sending shivers down her spine. It was enough for her to move even an inch to feel Nightwing's longed for lips pressed against hers.

Ignoring her mind's warnings and listening to her body (and though she would never admit it, she was listening to her heart as well) she gently pressed her lips to those of the Bludhaven vigilante.

And, to her utter surprise, he kissed her back!

His lips were strangely familiar to her, but for now she decided to ignore him.

The kiss began slow, almost shy, but sweet. Slowly her arms moved from his chest to wrap around his neck. The kiss became more heated, with the vigilante bringing Catwoman's body closer to his until not an inch remained between them.

The young thief's tongue made its way to his lip, demanding access to enter.

Which he gave her.

Her tongue entered his mouth and their tongues fought for dominance, eliciting a moan of pleasure from him.

Although the kiss actually lasted for a few minutes, it had lasted an eternity for them.

It had been an amazing kiss, to say the least.

They broke away reluctantly to recover their oxygen. Nightwing rested his forehead on Catwoman's. Both were panting.

Green eyes met masked eyes.

"Falling is like flying." whispered Catwoman without even thinking twice.

"If I fall, I'll take you with me." replied Nightwing reflexively.

Both their eyes widened as they recognized the words and who had spoken them before. There was a deafening silence. You could even hear a the chirping of a cricket outside.

To an outside person, it would have been a comical scene.

It is not known exactly how long the silence lasted, but it was broken by the hero. "Selina?" he whispered incredulously.

The thief had to swallow a couple of times before she spoke. "Dick?" she murmured uncertainly.

There was silence again. They looked at each other and made an unspoken agreement. They both slowly took off their respective masks.

Beautiful green eyes met breathtaking blue eyes.

"I can't believe it." whispered Selina after another moment of silence.

"Neither can I."

Dick did not know what he must be feeling.

Happiness?

Anger?

Betrayal?

Joy?

Then something clicked in his brain.

Wait a minute! Are you telling me that ... I fell in love with the same person?

This thought took a weight off his heart that he didn't know he had.

Selina also came to the same thought.

But Dick had a little doubt that was creeping into his mind.

Was what Selina felt for him true and did she not plan to find out his secret identity? Or was it all a plan by Catwoman who already had some suspicions about Dick Grayson and, with her civilian persona, approached him to find out information?

He took a deep breath and asked the question that was driving him crazy. "Selina, I need to know something." his tone was serious. Selina sensed it was a very important question and merely nodded. "What you felt for me these past two months was true," he had to swallow once before continuing. "or not?"

The girl's eyes went wide, surprised by the question. He did not trust her. Then she made an inward grimace.

Of course he doesn't trust me. I am Catwoman after all.

Looking straight into his blue eyes, though, Selina saw a glimmer of hope.

Maybe... maybe he wanted to be with her! Both as Selina Kyle and as Catwoman!

She focused her gaze firmly in his eyes and began to speak. "I will be extremely honest with you, Dick. Slowly, in my early years as Catwoman, I developed a crush on you when you were still Robin." his eyes widened dramatically.

"But I knew it was impossible for you to reciprocate. But now, after the first time I visited you here in Bludhaven, my buried feelings have become stronger than ever. That is as far as Catwoman is concerned.

"Instead, Selina Kyle fell in love with Dick Grayson. She felt something in him from the first time she met him at the gala. Somehow, she felt like she had a deep connection with him.

"What I mean is that Selina Kyle fell in love with Richard John Grayson-Wayne, acrobat and gymnast who grew up in his early years in Haly's circus, Bruce Wayne's firstborn and Bludhaven police detective.

"Catwoman fell in love with the first Robin, the first partner of all time, the first Boy Wonder, now Nightwing, protector of Bludhaven, one of the most important members of the Justice League and former leader of Young Justice."

Nightwing remained silent during his long speech. He was listening attentively, without interrupting her.

Seconds passed where Dick's expression remained the same. He did not hint at any kind of feeling. It was like watching Batman.

Just as she was beginning to get nervous, a bright and shining smile appeared on Dick's face. His blue eyes reflected his happiness.

Selina had never seen such a happy expression on a person's face.

And she was proud that she was the reason for that radiant smile.

Then he kissed her.

It was a kiss unlike any other.

It conveyed all the love and passion he felt for her.

The kiss was so full of love that she was feeling her knees weakening.

She had never felt such happiness.

They broke away from the kiss and he smiled broadly at her.

"Nightwing has fallen in love with Catwoman, the most famous thief in the world, the one who even Batman couldn't catch, the girl who can kick the shit out of anyone who's crazy to take her on." she giggled.

"Dick Grayson fell in love with Selina Kyle, the girl who works as a fundraiser for charity, the girl with a big heart, the most beautiful girl in the world." he finished softly.

Selina smiled happily at him and kissed him once more.

When the long kiss was over, they leaned against each other and smiled sweetly.

Surely there would be bumps in their relationship but for now their mutual companionship was enough for them. They both had a feeling that their lives would change for the better with only each other's presence.
