Bruce Wayne was sitting comfortably on the couch in the living room. His children were in their rooms doing their homework (except for Damian who was not yet enrolled in a school). His only biological son was probably in the gym working out. Either that or he was killing one of his brothers.

He hoped it would be the first option.

It was one of the rare moments when Bruce could relax without being disturbed by someone.

Or so he would have thought when he suddenly heard a chime coming from his watch. His watch was connected to the Batcave and when it rang it meant that someone was calling him to the Batcomputer.

He grimaced and headed toward the cave.

He put on his Batman suit and pressed the button to answer the call.

It was Superman calling him, for the second time that day.

He narrowed his eyes menacingly toward the big boy scout in blue. "Give me one good reason to call me twice in the same day."

To his credit, the hero of Metropolis did not even wince. He wasn't even smiling. Instead, he had a frown on his face and his blue eyes showed his sadness and weariness.

The white slits in Batman's cowl tightened even more.

It was obvious that something was wrong. It was more likely to see a giant monster that wants to conquer the Earth (and only God knows how many times that has happened!) than not to see a smile on Superman's face.

"John Stewart has called a special meeting in half an hour at the Watchtower. Most of the members of the Justice League will be present." declared the Kryptonian in a tired voice.

The Dark Knight arched an eyebrow (not that it could be seen under the cowl) "Why?"

"To discuss Nightwing's relationship with Catwoman." he replied with a heavy sigh.

Batman momentarily closed his eyes. As much as he didn't like the fact that his first born was with Catwoman, he certainly wasn't going to call a Justice League meeting.

It was not about them at all. It was more of a Batfamily thing to resolve.

Even if he wasn't currently doing anything to solve it.

He would never admit it but he missed talking to Dick.

At the mere thought of Dick, he rubbed his right arm slightly.

Hell, who knew Dick had such a strong grip?

And, despite the circumstances, he was proud of how he had cornered him in just a few moves.

Batman stared at Superman on the other side of the screen. "Nightwing and Catwoman's relationship is none of the League's business."

"I know. I tried several times to warn John that it wouldn't be a great idea but he wouldn't listen. Trust me Bruce, I myself am not dying to attend this meeting." replied the Man of Steel wearily.

Batman let out a long sigh. "All right, I'll be there. I won't take any responsibility if John ends up in a bleeding heap, though." he growled.

Superman amusedly lifted his lips. "I wouldn't mind that so much. See you later Bruce."

Batman grunted in greeting and the feed was disconnected.

The Dark Knight merely frowned at the now black screen.

Why the heck couldn't John mind his own fucking business?

God, the instinct was rising in him to throttle him with his own hands.

"How much of a jerk can the JLA's shoddiest Torch Boy be from one to a crowbar?" came a familiar voice.

Bruce turned and saw Jason, Tim, Cass, and Damian standing in the doorway of the Batcave.

"Tsk. Stewart should be unfit to be one of the members of the Justice League. He absolutely must be kicked off the team." declared Damian scornfully.

"For once I agree with you. Seriously, you must be a fool to call a meeting solely to discuss the relationship between Nightwing and Catwoman. " Tim agreed with the younger boy.

"Do you think Dick will be at the meeting?" asked Cass to her adoptive father.

Batman lowered his cowl, becoming Bruce Wayne. He tightened his lips into a thin line. "Honestly? I wouldn't be surprised if John summoned him."

Cass crossed her arms, a frown present on her face. "What's going to happen? Is Dick going to get kicked out of the League just because he's in a relationship with a former criminal?"

To say that the four Batkids were angry was an understatement. Sure, they were always fighting with each other and playing pranks on each other (especially Dick this last part), but they were all overprotective of each other.

In short, never joke with a member of the Batfamily if you want to live with all your limbs.

"I don't think so but with John anything is possible."

"But why on earth would he do that? Don't the other Justice League members consider Dick to be their nephew or some crap like that?"

Bruce reluctantly nodded at Jason's question. "Most yes except Diana who is like a mother figure to him. As for why, maybe he thinks Catwoman might be a threat to the Justice League."

"How could she be a threat?" asked Tim, tilting his head to the side.

Bruce shrugged. "John probably thinks Catwoman is exploiting her relationship with Nightwing for information she could sell back to criminals or something."

"What about you, father? Don't you feel the same way?" asked Damian with a frown and crossed arms, meeting his father's gaze.

The billionaire thought about it for a few seconds before answering. "No."

Jason looked hard at Bruce. "Then why did you act like a jerk to Dick days ago?"

Bruce looked at Jason wearily. "I admit I thought the same thing at the time. I thought Catwoman might reveal our identities to the most dangerous criminals. I was afraid not only for our identities but also for Dick. Afraid that if he got too attached to Selina she would leave him one day with heartbreak."

Tim chuckled. "The usual DaddyBats." he commented with a small smile.

Bruce returned the smile slightly. " More or less." he admitted.

Jason shook his head. "Even a zombie like myself would have seen the love in Selina's eyes every time she looked at the golden boy."

A smirk appeared on Damian's face. "Getting soft, Todd?"

"Fuck off, you little demon!" snapped Jason but everyone could see the smallest of smiles.

"Language." the billionaire admonished him.

"What changed your mind?" asked Cass curiously of her father.

Bruce's only response was to put his cowl back on and head toward the zeta tube. Before disappearing into the light, he turned to his children and said few words. "All of you."

Recognized: Nightwing B-01

As soon as Nightwing found himself on the Watchtower, he took a few steps only to find himself facing Roy Harper and Donna Troy.

Both had arms crossed and were staring at him hard.

Shit.

"Why didn't you tell us you were engaged to Catwoman? Or better yet, why didn't you tell us Selina was Catwoman?" asked Roy with a frown.

Nightwing rubbed the back of his head embarrassedly and gave them a small smile. "I forgot." he admitted.

"You forgot." repeated Donna. "If we hadn't read about it in the paper, when would you have let us know?" she asked, putting her hands on her hips and looking at him intently.

"You probably would have known during the meeting."

His two best friends exchanged a confused look before turning back to look at him. "What do you mean?" asked the first Wonder Girl.

The Bludhaven vigilante frowned. "Wait, you don't know why this meeting was called?"

Arsenal shook his head. "No. Why, do you?"

Dick sighed inwardly.

Thank you very much, John.

He thought sarcastically.

"John Stewart will want to discuss my relationship with Catwoman."

"Why would he do that?" asked Donna, arching an eyebrow.

"Probably because she's a criminal." Roy thought aloud.

"Ex criminal." corrected Nightwing by sending him a mini bat-glare. His longtime friend raised his hands in surrender.

"It would be very hypocritical of me to judge you, man!"

"And to do that he called a Justice League meeting? He couldn't talk to you alone and end the story there?" reasoned Donna.

"Exactly whai I thought." the first Robin nodded in agreement with her. He sighed. "He's just being a jerk. You all know how he is: he's always exaggerating."

"Speaking of Batman" Roy turned to Dick. "how did he take it?"

"Not well." was all he said and his best friends did not push him to speak.

"RICHARD JOHN GRAYSON-WAYNE! COME IMMEDIATELY TO ME!" they heard a female voice shouting in the hallway of the League member's rooms.

Nightwing paled noticeably when he recognized the voice.

Shayera Hol aka Hawkgirl. Or, as Dick preferred to call her, aunt Shayera.

She, along with Black Canary and Wonde Woman, had always been protective of Dick ever since he was introduced to the League at the age of nine.

Roy patted him on the back. "Good luck, my friend."

"You'll need it." Donna added with a smirk.

Nightwing nodded them goodbye before he headed down the hallway with one thought on his mind.

I'm dead.

Donna saw her best friend walking away and turned toward Roy.

"Have you seen him?" she asked with a giggle.

He looked at her confused. "Seen what?"

She groaned. "You seriously haven't seen it?"

"See what?" he snapped.

"The hickey on his neck." she replied calmly, ignoring his behavior.

"He had a hickey?" he asked stunned. She nodded. "And why didn't you say anything?" he exclaimed, raising his hands in the air.

"Because I knew you wouldn't stop teasing him."

"You're right. So what? That's the way it is between best friends."

She shook her head with a small smile. "You know, he'd probably brag." she declared after a few seconds of silence. When he looked at her confused, she explained. "Not everyone can say they got a hickey from Catwoman."

"In fact, he's a lucky bastard." he muttered.

"Don't let Jade hear you." hummed the first Wonder Girl.

Roy paled.

Nightwing arrived in front of his aunt Shayera's bedroom. He typed in the code to open the door (he knows all the codes by heart) and entered. He saw Hawkgirl who had her arms crossed with her usual weapon at her side: the mace.

Her presence overflowed with anger.

Yes. I'm dead.

He glanced around the room only to see that they were not alone, but Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman was also there.

The Princess of Themyscira.

His mother figure.

His mother in all but blood.

She was angry too, given her rigid posture and by the intensity of her gaze.

Nightwing since he was Robin has never been afraid of the bat-glare.

But Wonder Woman's gaze terrified him every time.

Shit. Aunt Shayera is going to kill me and throw me in the Lazarus Pit and I'll be killed one more time by my mother.

At least there is no aunt Dinah.

...

I'm fucked.

He swallowed heavily and gave a smile, hoping it did not show how much fear he was actually feeling.

Perhaps if he called Batman to the rescue he could help him, momentarily putting their discussion on the back burner.

Knowing Bruce, however, he would have willingly left him for dead.

"Aunt Shayera. Mom." he greeted them amicably, hoping to make them soften even a little.

It obviously didn't work.

"Richard John Grayson-Wayne." hissed Wonder Woman dangerously. Dick paled even more.

To be called by his full name by aunt Shayera?

Slow and painful death

To be called by his full name by his mother Diana?

Pray for a short death.

Being called by his full name by both Hawkgirl and Wonder Woman?

Nightwing would rather be tortured by the Joker for two consecutive years than face their rage.

Batman's first partner swallowed hard. "Yes Mom?"

His mother's eyes narrowed menacingly and Nightwing had to use all his training not to run away with his tail between his legs. "Catwoman, huh?" she said simply.

Not knowing how to respond, he merely nodded.

Hawkgirl stared at him. "And you didn't tell us anything because...?"

He shrugged his shoulders and avoided eye contact with the two women.

Diana sighed and moved closer to her son. She gently lifted his chin, forcing him to look into her loving blue eyes. "Were you afraid of what we would say?" she asked in a soft voice.

She knows me too well.

He simply nodded.

"And why did you think that?" Hawkgirl asked in a softer voice as she approached him, gently stroking his hair.

Nightwing leaned in at the touch of his aunt, who smiled at him. Dick always loved it when Diana or Shayera (or Dinah) cuddled him. Fortunately for him, he didn't have to say it out loud since the women understood and always did without any problem.

"Well, after what happened with Bruce..." he froze, opening his eyes wide and immediately stopping talking.

He didn't have to say that.

If the women would not kill him, Bruce himself would kill him.

Both girls narrowed their eyes. "What happened with Bruce?" asked the Thanagarian coldly.

"N-nothing!" he cursed himself for stammering. He has quietly and regularly faced the worst criminals, including the Joker, Two Face, Bane, Ra's al Ghul, Deathstroke, Vandal Savage and Klarion, to name a few.

And now he has stammered in front of two superheroines?

But now, looking into the cold, icy eyes of the two women with whom he has spent much of his life, he allowed himself to stutter.

You can't blame him after all.

They were really scary when they were pissed off.

"Dick." the Amazon urged him firmly but also in a gentle voice.

The acrobat sighed, surrendering. He told them a short two minute version of what happened with his father.

"So that's why you didn't tell us about Catwoman? Because of how Bruce reacted?" asked Diana.

He nodded.

His mother smiled sweetly at him. "You shouldn't have been afraid of our reaction."

"Wait! So you guys are okay with me being with Catwoman?"

Shayera nodded, gently brushing his bangs back "Absolutely. If you are happy with her, and she has stopped stealing, then it's fine. What's important to us is your happiness. Right Diana?"

She nodded. "And together with Black Canary we also need to meet her soon and have a chat with her."

Sorry Selina but I don't envy you.

Nightwing smiled and attacked them both in a big bear hug. The women giggled pleasantly. Both Diana and Shayera gently stroked his hair and he leaned in such a way as to give them free access.

Hawkgirl continued to stroke his hair while Wonder Woman gave him a gentle kiss on the forehead.

He was in heaven with the cuddles of his aunt and mother.

They broke away and suddenly Hawkgirl growled dangerously, reaching for the mace. "I will kill Bruce painfully for treating you that way."

Nightwing opened his eyes wide behind his mask and waved his hands frantically. "No! You will not kill anyone!"

Shayera (who only now Dick noticed that she was not wearing her helmet), muttered. "I wasn't going to kill him." the Thanagarian knew her nephew was raising a skeptical eyebrow. She knew him very well, after all. "All right, maybe I was thinking that." she admitted.

Nightwing shook his head with a smile. "Don't tell Batman I told you, though."

"If Bruce doesn't change his mind about Catwoman within a week, me, Dinah and Shayera will pay him a good visit. Right?" Diana turned to Hawkgirl with an evil smirk that she returned.

I don't envy Bruce at all.

Suddenly an alarm sounded. This indicated the imminent start of a meeting.

"Well, we'd better get going." said Nigtwing .

Shayera nodded and put on her elmet.

Diana looked at him "You know Dick, you have a nice hickey in plain view." she commented casually.

Nightwing paused in his steps before opening his eyes wide and bringing a hand to his hickey on his neck as he blushed furiously. He frowned at the two women. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"We were discussing important things earlier." replied the Amazon.

"And besides, this will be our mini revenge for not telling us about your new girlfriend." Hawkgirl added with a wicked grin.

"Going to the meeting room with a hickey in plain sight?" asked Dick in a voice full of sarcasm. The two women nodded. Nightwing shook his head with a small smile. "You are impossible." he said as he put his arms around the two girls and led them out of the room.

The women smiled and were led by Nightwing toward the meeting room.
