Chapter 2!

This chapter is like 90% slice of life fluff.

User/Reviewer EatMyIceCream: I'm assuming you're referring to Kizaru vs the supernovas? If so, I too will be disappointed if I don't work in Izumi doing the kicks that Kizaru did to both Apoo and X Drake. When I started the story all I could think about action wise was how much I wanted to use something like them.

User/Reviewer NexusNex: I'm glad you like the idea! Definitely just how I wanted it of Izumi just having a good time as she works towards her goals.

User/Reviewer tadkins: A chill relaxing Izumi is very good! I'm having a lot of fun writing her without worries.

User/Reviewer EndlessChains: Thanks as always for your reviews! It's really nice to write the characters slowing down and enjoying the day to day. Momo and Izumi are gonna be finding themselves all over the place which means a lot more research for me but it's fun nonetheless.

User/Reviewer yomunot: Gonna be a lot of fluffy stuff here as well as Izumi basically trivializing opponents. Glad you're here for it and thanks as always for your reviews!

To everyone who faved, followed, or reviewed thank you so much!

Chapter 2: Spring and Happiness

*Momo POV*

"Ehhh, Yayorozu-san?" Momo heard the sarcastic drawl over the line as she wondered what could be in store for them. It was already nighttime but Momo was hoping that they could do something tomorrow.

"Hello Midoriya-san," Momo said politely but eagerly over the phone, "I was wondering if you had something else in mind for us since spring break will come to an end soon."

"Tomorrow then? Hmm, how about we see the cherry blossoms along the Yamazaki river?" The green haired girl suggested.

"Yes, that sounds like a good idea." The black haired girl agreed readily, it was the season for cherry blossoms so it would be a shame to not go.

Momo could hear the amused chuckle from Midoriya, "I'll see you tomorrow then Yaoyorozu-san." The girl confirmed and the creation girl found herself nodding her head.

"Of course, goodnight Midoriya-san." Momo finished and the call ended after Midoriya bid her a goodnight as well.

With her phone still unlocked, Momo impulsively typed in the location that the two of them would be heading for. She didn't want to look at any pictures since she would get to see it for herself tomorrow but nonetheless the black haired girl was still a tad curious. It wasn't too far from where she lived, maybe an hour away by train, but after scrolling a little Momo flushed slightly when she read that it was a decently popular spot for couples. Their outing surely wasn't a date and Momo doubted that Midoriya was implying as much but the creation girl still felt a little conscious of the information.

Momo sighed, she was getting ahead of herself and she should just enjoy the little trip as it was. Midoriya went to all kinds of places to relax and enjoy herself so Momo would follow her lead.

-break-

Momo would at least admit to herself that she was a bit excited for the upcoming outing. She had woken up a bit earlier than usual and spent slightly longer to pick out a nice outfit and now the black haired girl was just waiting on Midoriya to arrive since she was early. Looking around, Momo managed to catch a glimpse of her friend making her way through the people. Midoriya gave her a lazy but cheerful wave and Momo found herself eagerly waving back.

"Were you perhaps a bit excited Yaoyorozu-san?" The greenette wondered as she drew before her and Momo flushed a little, her thoughts apparently transparent to the other girl.

"I will admit that I am a bit excited," Momo told her honestly, "The places and activities you've chosen for us before have been enjoyable." She coughed a bit to push off some of her embarrassment.

"Well then, she should be off," Midoriya gave a small laugh and Momo smiled as they departed.

-break-

It wasn't as if the creation girl hadn't seen cherry blossoms before, she had gone many times with her parents, but something about the sound of the river beside them, the quiet rustle of the trees overhead, and the comforting sound of their footsteps put Momo at ease. Petals slowly fell around them, some landing and drifting along the water as the fish swam beneath them, and the black haired girl looked on in wonder. Nearing one of the numerous staircases that led from the upper to the lower path of the river, Midoriya settled down and urged Momo over although the black haired girl had wanted to look more at the river.

Midoriya placed her things down and put her chin in her hand while she held out a small bag to Momo, "Here you are Yaoyorozu-san." The girl offered and the black haired girl took the item. Opening it up, Momo found it was filled with bread crusts and Midoriya's gaze moved back to the river.

Understanding what the greenette was getting at, Momo smiled in response, "I'll be right back Midoriya-san!" The green haired girl humming pleasantly while Momo walked over to the edge of the water.

Taking out a few pieces and breaking them up, Momo gently tossed some into the water and she watched the fish gather and pop up to the surface to receive their snacks. Momo smiled as they caused ripples that made the fallen sakura petals twirl about along the water's surface. While Momo was happy about the small activity, she figured something was missing and made her way back towards her friend.

"Midoriya-san!" The creation girl called excitedly, the girl in question responding with her usual drawn out hum, "Come over and join me!"

The greenette stood up and strolled up to her, "Ohh? Joining in sounds nice." She agreed and the two kneeled at the edge of the water.

Momo threw a few more pieces and the fish gathered once more, "I wonder if you can make shapes with the fallen petals." Momo said aloud.

"Let's see," She heard the greenette say beside her, the girl drawing out the words.

Midoriya shifted and threw a few pieces of bread in what Momo would have considered strange places but the black haired girl stared in surprise as the ripples made the sakura petals form a circle, five more petals in the shape of the flower right in the middle. Momo was only snapped out of it when she heard a click to her side and she saw Midoriya holding up and inspecting her phone.

The green haired girl side eyed her with a sly smile and turned the screen to show the symbol that had only lasted a second, "Shall I send it to you?" Midoriya asked and Momo could only nod her head, still at a loss for words.

The two of them continued to feed the fish, Momo still persistently trying to make shapes while Midoriya helped her, and they also chatted happily, mostly Momo, about other things they might enjoy doing. After they had used the last of the bread, The pair returned to the stairs and sat down while listening to the sweet roll of the wind through the blossoms.

Momo noticed that Midoriya, who had been lounging with her eyes closed, sat up and reached to her side. Before Momo could question her, the girl held up a pouch and handed it to her, "It's about lunch time Yaoyorozu-san," she told her, "Let's eat, shall we?"

Taking the pouch and opening it, Momo took out the bento and could smell the welcoming scent, "Did you make this Midoriya-san?" The creation girl asked, Midoriya surprising her once more.

"Yup, it's my favorite and I thought you might like it," Midoriya replied, taking out another for herself.

Momo took off the lid and happily began to eat the katsudon after she'd thanked the green haired girl. The wonderful taste of a home cooked meal combined with the scenery and the pleasant day that Momo was having warmed her up inside and the black haired girl was glad that she was able to be here.

Eventually, their day out had come to an end and Momo thanked the greenette for a wonderful time and although Midoriya still spoke in her usual playful, slow, and nigh sarcastic tone, Momo was convinced that the girl had also enjoyed herself as well. It was night already and Momo scrolled through the pictures that Midoriya had sent her while she laid in her bed. Of course there was the cherry blossom symbol that Midoriya had made as well as a few of Momo's failed attempts at replicating the green haired girl's feat, a couple pictures of the scenery, and even one that Midoriya had snuck in of Momo happily eating the homemade bento.

There was only a couple more days left of spring break and then they would be starting their first term of at U.A and Momo wondered if maybe she could go somewhere with Midoriya once more before then. Lying on her back, Momo's room was illuminated by the light from her phone as she researched places that they could enjoy. The black haired girl had been leaving the decisions up to Midoriya but perhaps she could suggest something this time around. They had already gone fishing in Gamagori, experienced the foot baths in Gero, and of course they had gone to the Yamazaki River for the cherry blossoms so Momo ruled those three things out. She wanted it to be on the simpler end of things which she still wasn't the most versed on, thus the research, and she also hoped that Midoriya would enjoy it too. Would a short boat tour or shopping provide to be too much? Maybe they could do another scenic walk or a picnic but Momo didn't know any places. Perhaps she could suggest them to Midoriya and let her pick?

Finding their conversation, Momo was about to message the girl but was shocked to see that it was already 1 in the morning. Had she been searching for activities that long? In the black haired girl's brief moment of astonishment she had dropped her phone, the device landing directly on her face. The phone fell to the side and Momo clutched at her face, groaning at the uncomfortable pain. The creation girl sat up and reached for the thing but suddenly realized that it was ringing quietly and she turned it over and saw that she'd accidentally called Midoriya. Momo frantically tried to end the call but it suddenly went through and she heard the green haired girl's voice.

"Hmm?" The voice came through and Momo couldn't tell if it was the girl's usual tone or if she had actually just woken up, "Yaoyorozu-san, how are you tonight?" Regular tone it was.

Doing her best to push down her embarrassment, Momo spoke quickly in a hushed voice, "My apologies Midoriya-san, I was going to message suggestions for an outing before spring break ended and I didn't realize how late it was but I accidentally called you when I dropped my phone and, ah-" Momo cutoff when she realized that she had begun rambling, "M-my apologies again, I'll let you sleep."

Momo heard the the girl's amused chuckle, "What did you have for suggestions?" Midoriya asked, Momo perking up at her words.

"I had been wondering if a boat tour or shopping might be too much but perhaps another scenic trip or a picnic could work?" Momo put forth the options, hopeful that Midoriya would take to one.

"A picnic sounds nice I think," Midoriya told her over the line, "If you'd like we can cook at my house and then head out from there."

Momo perked up at the idea, "Then, how about the last day of break?" The creation girl offered and she heard Midoriya's hum of acknowledgment.

"See you then."

"Right, goodnight Midoriya-san." Momo said and after the greenette bid her goodnight as well, the call ended.

Putting her phone down, Momo hugged her knees while a big smile drew across her lips.

-break-

Momo entered the modest house at Midoriya's urging, the last day of their spring break having already come, and she followed the greenette into the kitchen.

"My parents are working so they aren't home right now," Midoriya told her as she tied up her hair and put on an apron, passing one to Momo who did the same, "Is there anything in particular you want for the picnic?"

"Sandwiches maybe?" Momo stated thoughtfully, she wasn't sure if they were doing anything else while they ate so hand food would probably be a good idea.

The greenette pulled out the ingredients, many spread across the table, and the two got to work. Croquettes, cutlets, egg salad, meat slices and vegetables, the two of them made a number of different sandwiches and side dishes while Midoriya hummed cheerful tunes and Momo cut and arranged the foods. Once again, Momo found herself intently focused and having fun with the simple task of cutting the different sandwiches into their own shapes, some being squares, others triangles, and another into rectangles. She didn't really have to worry about cooking at home, practically all of her families meals being taken care of by a hired chef, but now that she was making a meal with Midoriya she found that she might want to look more into the culinary arts.

Grouping the finished foods and arranging them into the basket, Momo looked over to Midoriya, "Is that everything Midoriya-san?"

The girl made a pit of a pose, as if she was actually thinking it over, and nodded, "Seems so, now we just need to find a place to eat." The greenette told her and the creation girl was a bit confused.

"You haven't decided on a place?" Momo wondered and Midoriya gave her an amused smile.

"No, but I thought of one just now," she stated, seemingly choosing on a whim, "Off we go then." Momo followed the girl, trusting in her judgement despite how carefree she seemed to make it, and the two departed for the spot that Midoriya settled on.

The walk didn't seem like it'd be long, Momo had inquired and Midoriya said it was still close within Gamagori, and the black haired girl walked beside her friend while they spoke back and forth. They continued on for a short while before they came upon the long bridge that led to Takeshima Island and Midoriya followed it slowly, allowing Momo to take in the sight and sound of the water. Once they were on the island itself, they took the footpaths that led around the perimeter and Midoriya directed Momo's attention to one of the many rocky outcrops with a small stretch of sand.

"Think that'd be a nice spot?" The greenette asked and Momo nodded in agreement, her eyes already studying the clear water that licked at the edges of the low rocks and the beach.

Spreading out the picnic blanket, the two settled onto the sands and Momo unpacked some of the food, "Thank you for coming with me Midoriya-san." The black haired girl bowed a little.

"Thank you for inviting me Yaoyorozu-san," Midoriya gave a small and sweet smile, her cheek resting on her drawn in knee, "I'm enjoying myself as well."

Momo flushed a little and Midoriya, as always, hummed in amusement before the two dug into the food they'd made. Momo was so relaxed as they continued eating that she'd nearly forgotten that by tomorrow she'd be a hero in training. Previously, her small bout of 'negligence' would have bothered her but she didn't really mind at the moment. Not to say that she would ignore what she needed to do or become lazy but as Midoriya had told her, it was fine to take things one day at a time and relax when you relaxed. Momo couldn't say for sure but even if they were small things, she felt as if she was slowly broadening her horizons little by little and not letting the tiny bits of happiness of everyday life escape her.

Peeking with her peripheral vision, Momo observed the content smile on Midoriya's face as she gazed out to the waves. The wind gently brushed through her hair and Momo found that she couldn't pull her eyes away from the girl who enjoyed even the smallest bits of happiness.

Momo stared a moment longer and Midoriya eventually turned her eyes and met hers, "Ah? What's got you thinking Yaoyorozu-san?" She wondered, with her slightly teasing tone.

"May I call you Izumi?" Momo asked the green haired girl almost impulsively and Midoriya's eyes gleamed with the tiniest bit of interest.

"Of course," Midoriya answered back, "should I call you Momo then?"

"Please." The creation girl managed out, her face heating up a bit.

Getting closer to Izumi was quite welcome in Momo's eyes.

*Eraserhead POV*

Per his usual custom, Shouta had imposed the quirk apprehension test that he used whenever he had a new first year class and already he found one student that would prove to be a problem child.

Midoriya Izumi, the girl who had placed 1st during the entrance exam, made her way into the circle for the ball toss. She was neither very interested nor being lazy but Shouta kept his eye trailed on her. He had seen her performance from the exam, the girl solely using her quirk, and he wouldn't allow her to just scrape by. Of course she'd also need to be reasonable and not go overboard, he remembered how destructive her power could be, but she also couldn't be too lax with her abilities. Her quirk was flashy, in all senses, and the erasing man wasn't currently sure about her physical capabilities since she hadn't shown any during the exam.

Shouta watched impassively as the girl held the ball before her. The green haired girl closed her eyes and tilted her head in thought before she gently tossed the ball in front of her, her right leg shifting back and the lower part of it glowing before she sent the ball rocketing off with a kick. The Erasure Hero was about to look at the screen but he noticed that the girl's eyes were looking at him. Midoriya gave him a nod and focused her attention forward, pointing a finger to the sky, and firing a few beams of light. Shouta eyed the screen and saw the numbers jump as many as many times as the girl fired.

Moving on to the other tests, her quirk appeared to carry her through them with ease but Shouta found that her physical capabilities were also highly impressive. All the tests that her quirk wasn't going to be helpful in the greenette managed to score in the upper parts of the class and despite taking 1st place overall at the end of the apprehension test, the girl didn't seem fazed one bit.

Impressive, but a problem child indeed.

Notes and Stuff

I personally believe that Momo would get excited over these things and even begin researching them because of enjoyment and curiosity. We did see her get excited over disguises and we saw how serious she took the study session, though that was a little due to her lowered confidence and feeling needed. We already know she's a bit sheltered and has a skewed view of what is considered 'common' but she also likes reading and is studious therefore the researching. Also I think that her being more to the innocent side is believable and cute for this story. I definitely wanted Momo to be the one who catches feelings first.

Since this story is slice of life and thus slower, it may seem like it takes long for them to get together but that's just cause I'm not going to skip as much downtime like in my other stories.

The Yamazaki river is in Aichi Prefecture and seems to be a regular place for viewing cherry blossoms as well as being a decent date spot. Also remember that this Izumi lives in Gamagori, Aichi prefecture, and Takeshima Island is there as well so it's not far from where I placed her.

By the way, I want Izumi's hero outfit to be professional and suit like though probably not Kizaru's pin suit haha. I do want that style though of the suit jacket combo cause what's not to love. It'll work with her quirk as well because I believe Setsuna's costume works through having her own cells in it. Funny enough, Setsuna's ability has a decent resemblance to Buggy's abilities though she can regenerate parts and her feet aren't constrained to the ground. You all on board for the outfit thoughts and maybe Kizaru's glasses?

Shouta and the rest of class 1-A is going to be in for a surprise with Izumi. Remember, she's real OP and I want that to remain as fact throughout the story. Considering how Kizaru is too, I kinda want her to be a bit condescending to some opponents.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
