Chapter 11: Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?
The Mane nine ran as fast as their hooves could take them. They were currently in the Castle of the Two Sisters. Luna was standing in the middle of the throne room. The Mane nine were doing their best to pick up their pace. Back in the throne room, a floating blob of celestial purple appeared behind Luna.
"Greetings, Tantabus," said Luna, "I am ready. Do your worst!" Tantabus floated behind a window, turning day into night. Luna then began to grunt painfully as the Mane nine burst into the room.
"Everybody, look!" Chase shouted in alarm as Luna was encased inside of a black bubble.
"Princess Luna's turning into Nightmare Moon again!" Twilight exclaimed.
"No!" Chase cried out in terror.
Soon the dark transformation was complete and Nightmare Moon laughed evilly before them, making everypony wince.
"Yeah?" said Rainbow, "Well, we've got the cure for that!"
All but Sokka and Clay's bodies glowed as powerful beams of magic descended upon them, turning all six girls and Chase into their Super Pony forms.
Super Fluttershy and Super Applejack approached them and transferred some of their rainbow powers to them. Sokka transformed, now wearing a blue and white karate outfit, a light green bandana around his head, orange wrappings around his legs, and the lower part of his mane became a downward ponytail.
Clay now wore a light orange karate outfit, kept his stenson hat on with a white bandana around his head, light gray wrappings around his hooves, and now carried two kusarigama chains.
The nine powered up ponies floated into the air together, each of closing their eyes and opening them so they were glowing white. Then they each fired a colored beam that represented their element (Chase's color was white, Sokka's was green, and Clay's was yellow). Nightmare Moon laughed evilly as she blocked the group's rainbow blast.
"Wait! What's it doing?! No!" said Nightmare Moon as the Tantabus made night turn back into day, ripped a hole through the wall and disappeared, "It's gone!"
The Mane nine then fired another magic blast at Nightmare Moon, who grunted as she was returned back into Luna. Luna looked rather baffled as the Mane nine cheered as they happily surrounded her.
(Scene changes)
Luna then woke up with a gasp, she had apparently been dreaming.
"What? My dream ended...happily?" said Luna in a panic, "That. Cannot. Happen!"
(Scene changes)
Watching her from the orb, Zhao was smirking deviously at this as he chuckled.
"Oh believe me, Princess Luna." Zhao said as he observed the panicked Princess of the Night. "You dream has only just begun."
The screen dies down as Zhao's pupiless eyes glowed orange as he chuckled lowly.
*Main theme*
At the Carousel Boutique, the Mane nine had brought their pets to have them washed and groomed. For those wondering, Sokka and Fluttershy both shared Angel. Another note of interest was the fact that all eight ponies had dark circles under their eyes and were looking very tired. Correction: All eight ponies except Pinkie.
"Ooh, this is amazing!" said Pinkie excitedly.
Rainbow just yawned as she gave Tank a bath. Rarity was grooming Opal's tail. Applejack was just petting Winona. Pinkie was just bouncing about as usual. Chase was grooming Ray. Yeah, Rarity," said Rainbow in a tired tone, "Thanks for setting all this up."
"A grooming day for our pets really was a great idea," said Fluttershy in the same tired tone as she sat on the edge of the table with Angel sitting on her lap. She had just finished brushing the white bunny when she felt something in her mane. She turned to see Sokka was brushing her mane.
"Honey, you're supposed to be grooming, Angel," she said with a half chuckle.
"Sorry, sweetheart. I still can't help it." Sokka said as Fluttershy smiled at him.
Nearby, Twilight was using her magic to preen Owlowiscious's feathers. She took notice of their conversation and chuckled.
"Honey, can I get a mane brush from you later?" Twilight asked her husband, who just yawned and chuckled.
"Sure, anything for my girl," Chase replied as he continued to give Ray a wing rub while the phoenix cooed and nuzzled his master's hoof.
Twilight giggled to herself and went back to preening Owlowiscious. Rarity was continuing to groom Opal's tail, but was starting to nod off when she grabbed the hair brush and poked Opal hard in the back with it.
"YOWL!" Opal screamed as she jumped into the air and landed right on top of the curtains
"Oh, my!" said Rarity to Opal, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't get my normal beauty sleep last night."
Opal hissed angrily at Rarity.
"You know," said Twilight with a yawn, "I didn't sleep well either."
"Neither did I," said Chase.
"Mm-hmm," said Applejack in agreement.
"Uh-huh," Rainbow added in the same tone.
"I'm totally beat too!" said Pinkie as she cart-wheeled across the room.
"We can tell," said Clay and Shenran said annoyingly.
Applejack was about to doze off when Winona barked and woke her up.
"All right, Winona," said Applejack, "Time for your brushin'."
But Applejack then accidentally grabbed Gummy instead and tried to use him to brush Winona. Gummy then bit Winona's ear. Despite not having teeth, Winona yelped and shook Gummy off. The little alligator went flying into the air and landed on Owlowiscious. The owl then hovered up, causing Twilight to lean away and lose her balance.
SPLASH!
Twilight tumbled into the water Tank was having his bath. Applejack looked stunned at the chain of mishaps.
"Oops," said Applejack, "I guess I'm too plumb tired out to do this right." Winona just rubbed her ear on the table and glared at the orange pony in reply.
"Easy, girl." Clay said gently as he stroke Winona by the back of her neck, making the dog nuzzle it back.
Pinkie simply ran after Gummy and Owlowiscious behind her.
"I even went to bed early last night..." Fluttershy yawned as Sokka held her from behind, "but then I had a really scary nightmare."
"Me too!" said the rest of the group.
"Uh, only, you know," said Rainbow, "I didn't think mine was that scary."
"Says the pony who came to our house in the middle of the night crying," Sokka remarked.
"Quiet!" Rainbow snarled angrily. She didn't want to the others to know about that.
"Well, mine sure was, so was Chase's," said Twilight as Chase nodded in agreement while the mare was soaking wet, "There was this blue monster and...what?" Twilight noticed that everypony minus Rainbow was staring at her with their mouths hanging out.
"Sokka and I dreamt about a blue smoke thingy too!" said Fluttershy.
"Me too!" said Applejack, Pinkie, and Rarity together.
"So what?" Rainbow remarked as she reclined in the air with her fore-hooves crossed, "Probably just a coincidence.
"That's an awfully big coincidence, nine ponies having the same nightmare." said Chase as Twilight climbed out of the tub and Spike approached holding some towels. "That sounds like more than coincidence if you ask me."
"Huh. I wonder why I didn't have that nightmare," said Spike, "I slept great!"
Rainbow, Rarity, Applejack, Sokka, Clay, and Fluttershy all gave the little dragon unamused looks.
"So then," said Rarity, "what could've given us all the same nightmare?"
"I don't know," said Twilight as she used her magic to hand Spike her now wet towel. "But I do know who might. Spike, could you send a scroll to Princess Luna?"
"Sure!" said Spike as he tossed the towels away and grabbed a long piece of parchment, "All set!"
"Dear Princess Luna," Twilight recited as she walked past the rest of the group with Chase following her, "last night my friends, my husband, and I all dreamt of a creature made of blue smoke. I'm sure you're very busy, but..." Twilight yawned, "...when you have the chance, please let me know if you have any idea what it could mean. Yours..." Twilight yawned again, "...Princess Twilight Sparkle and Master Chase Young. You can leave out the yawns." The fact Spike had made some faces and scratched some stuff out was a good clue that he had included them. He then rolled up the scroll and breathed his fire to send the message away.
"Which of you saw the creature of blue smoke in your nightmare?!" Luna asked as she suddenly burst through the door to the Boutique. The others were stunned at seeing the moon princess before them...and in record time.
"Wow," said Fluttershy, "That was fast."
"I think she just beat her first race track record." Sokka said.
"To answer your question," said Twilight, "We all did."
"Not me!" said Spike smugly as he walked across the foreground.
"Ugh, we know!" said Applejack, Rainbow, Rarity, Clay, and Sokka together annoyingly.
"So you've encountered the smoke monster too?" Twilight asked.
"The Tantabus is a creature of my nightmares," said Luna as she walked up to the group, "It escaped from my slumbers yesterday."
"But how did it get into ours?" Fluttershy asked as well.
"The Tantabus is like a parasite," Luna explained. "My dreams must no longer be enough for it. Now it seeks others to infect and corrupt. It must have learned of you eight from seeing you in my dream."
"Whoa-whoa-whoa," said Spike, "So what you're saying is...you dreamt about all of them, and not me?" Spike couldn't help but whimper at feeling left out.
"Uh, so Smokey gave us bad dreams," said Rainbow dismissively, "No biggie."
"I saw that the Tantabus had grown more powerful," said Luna, "but I did not realize that power was enough to enable it to escape my dreams. If it's power grows, it could very well find a way to escape into the real world. It could turn all of Equestria into a living nightmare!" As Luna explained, a visual was seen of the Tantabus growing in size and piecing a hole through the barrier of the dream world and the real world. Then another visual was seen of Ponyville as the Tantabus engulfed it whole.
"Okay, okay, okay, I take it back!" said Rainbow, no longer hiding the fact that she was panicking, "That does sound bad! Really bad!" Rainbow then rushed to Chase.
"Hold me!" She pleaded as Chase held her close and rubbed her back to help her calm down, but deep down, Chase was also worried as well.
(Scene changes)
Later that night, the Mane nine, along with Jade, Sunray, Nyx, and Luna had all gathered at Twilight and Chase's castle.
"We've prepared everything exactly as you requested," said Twilight as the group entered hers and Chase's bedroom which now had several extra beds gathered around the room in a large circle. As expected, the married couples were sharing a bed.
"Good," said Luna as she walked inside, "As you twelve slumber here, I will pursue the creature into whichever of your dreams it infests."
"Ooh!" said Pinkie as she, Rainbow, and Rarity snuggle into their own beds, "It'll be like a princess sleepover!"
"Speaking of princesses," said Jade as Twilight and Chase climbed into their own bed. Jade, Sunray, and Nyx slept in separate beds. "aren't you gonna ask Celestia for her help as well?"
"She would certainly be willing to help," Chase added.
"There is nothing my sister can do," said Luna, "She has no power in the realm of sleep. Only I can move from dream to dream. I am afraid nopony can help me tonight."
"Even us?" Applejack asked with concern.
"Especially you," said Luna, "You have all suffered so much because of me. You need only slumber while I hunt the Tantabus in your dreams."
Luna then flinched when she felt something tug her ever-flowing mane. She looked down to see Spike standing before her.
"I know you said nopony can help," said Spike, "but I'm no pony! I'm going to stay up and watch over you guys just in case!"
"Aw, thank you, Spike!" said Twilight as Chase smiled in agreement.
"I sure hope this won't be too scary." Nyx replied with concern.
"Don't worry, Nyx." Jade said assuringly to her niece. "We'll find a way to stop it as soon as possible."
"One good thing about not sleepin' well last night," Applejack yawned as she turned to her side to go to sleep with Clay holding her, "shouldn't be too hard to fall asleep now."
"Ah sure hope yer right, sweetie." Clay said as he yawned while Chase and Twilight held each other while being snuggled up.
It was then Applejack and Clay were given the shock of their lives when Pinkie appeared from her blanket beside them.
"Are you kidding?!" Pinkie exclaimed, "This is so exciting, I don't know how I'm ever going to-"
BONK!
"OW!" Pinkie yelped when a book bonked her on the head as she turned to see Chase glaring at her sternly.
"Pinkie, pay attention! This is not play time! This is an urgent mission to save our home world from a nightmare spirit!" Chase said sternly, making the pink pony cower in fear of the alicorn stallion. "So stop being so childish and focus for once in your life!"
Pinkie smiled sheepishly before she scrambled back to her own bed away from Applejack and Clay.
"Thanks, Chase." Clay said to Chase with a relieved smile before he fell asleep.
The rest of the mane twelve did the same. Luna looked about to make sure that everypony was fast asleep. Luna then closed her eyes and hovered into the air. She then made the rings around her horn glow white, which caused twelve strings to connect themselves to the dreams of the eight ponies. It was Luna's personal dream network. She then increased her magical power to travel to the first pony of choice, which happened to be Sokka's.
In the dream world, Luna found herself hearing the traditional tunes of the imperial unicorn empire as she stood before what appeared to be a rather large pagoda style mansion.
"Haven't seen architecture like this in hundreds of moons," Luna said to herself as she approached the main doors and allowed herself in. She soon stopped when she saw that she was standing on the genkan.
"Dream or not, you still gotta respect the customs," Luna told herself as she removed her shoes and headed down the hallway when she came upon a sliding door and opened it. There inside was Sokka, wearing a blue kung-fu style shirt and was meditating on a large round cushion. Behind him was a vast collection of dual swords.
"I had no idea you were this interested in the old unicorn imperial empire," said Luna as she walked inside, keeping on alert.
"My father may have been a Pegasus," Sokka replied with his eyes closed, "But my mother was a unicorn, a descendant of the families that once roamed the imperial unicorn lands. It is my dream to continue the pride that is part of my heritage for generations to come."
"I see," said Luna, "forgive my rudeness, but I am still finding it baffling that a Pegasus would take pride in a culture that was part of the unicorns."
"The way of the sword does not belong to just the unicorns," Sokka replied, "knowledge of the arts belongs to everypony and every creature."
"Wise words indeed," Luna replied, "now if only..."
"Wait!" said Sokka quickly as he opened his eyes. There was a long silence as Sokka remained stiff. Suddenly...
CLANG!
Sokka did a fast one-eighty and was now in a sword lock with a pair of swords that had now come to life. Luna gasped and then looked up to see the Tantabus roaming about, passing through the collection of swords and bring them to life. Sokka then knocked the monster swords attacking him away. Using a combination of fast swiped and agility, Sokka quickly battled and knocked away several of the monster swords.
"Luna, I've got the swords," Sokka called out, "Get after the Tantabus! Hurry!"
Luna nodded as she saw the Tantabus slip under what appeared to be a bed made out of bamboo and disappeared underneath it. Luna then used her magic to slide under the bed to follow it, but not before magically putting her shoes back on first.
(Scene changes)
Meanwhile, Rarity found herself surrounded by various pink dresses that were dancing and flying about the room.
"Oh, my!" said Rarity, "This is simply divine! How avant garde!"
Unknowing to Rarity, the Tantabus was floating behind her and it passed through a dress, the two ribbons on it rose into the as the dress turned into a monster. Rarity barely had time to turn around when she saw the dress about to attack her.
"Forget avant garde!" said Rarity, "I should have said en garde!"
Rarity then gasped before she fired a magic blast to knock the dress away. The dress sleeves then turned into claws to attack, but then the dress exploded, revealing Luna.
"It is here!" Luna shouted as the Tantabus turned three more dresses into monsters. The two ponies then fired magic blasts at the monster dresses, destroying them. Rarity gasped at the ruined remains.
"It was such a pretty little chiffon...!" Rarity lamented dramatically, "What kind of monster would do this?!"
"The Tantabus," said Luna as she walked up to her.
"Then let's stop it!" said Rarity with determination.
"No, please!" Luna begged, "I don't want you to suffer anymore because of me. I will catch it."
Neither pony noticed that as Luna was speaking the Tantabus increased in size. It then hovered past some more dresses, turning them into monsters that roared at the two ponies. Luna fought the monster dresses off but then saw the Tantabus make its way out of a nearby window and put up bricks to block anypony from following it.
"Is has jumped into another dream!" Luna told Rarity as she blasted away another monster dress, "I am sorry, but if I am able to stop it, I must follow it where you cannot."
"Go!" said Rarity, "I should be able to handle things here." Luna then blasted away the bricks and flew off. Rarity soon found that she was clearly overwhelmed.
"I hope," she whimpered as the monster dresses surrounded her.
(Scene changes)
In another dream...
"La-la-la-la-la! Whee, ha-ha!" Pinkie cheered as she trotted free-spiritedly about. Every time she jumped, the background scenery would change. First, she was trotting some open woods, then inside of a cavern, then in the bottom of a gorge where a dragon roared and tried to bite her, but Pinkie casually jumped out of the way and was now in Cloudsdale.
"La-la-la-la-la!" Pinkie sing sang when she saw Luna.
"I followed the Tantabus here," Luna told the pink pony, "Now I need only find-" Luna then found that they were now in the middle of the jungle.
"Sorry, can't help it!" said Pinkie as she jumped again and the two ponies were now someplace else, "An idea pops into my head, it-" Pinkie then gasped when she found they were now in Sugarcube corner and the room was filled with lots of cakes, "Ooh, cake!"
It was then the Tantabus appeared and passed through a cake. As Pinkie was about to take a bite out of the cake, the cake turned into a monster, spat out frosting at Pinkie's face and growled at her.
"Ew, cake!" Pinkie exclaimed as she found herself surrounded by monster cakes.
But then one cake appeared next to Pinkie and exploded, revealing Luna inside of it. Luna then created a barrier to protect Pinkie and then expanded the barrier to knock away all the monster cakes in one shot. Pinkie smiled with gratitude when the Tantabus ducked inside of a box, making Luna gasp as she tried to dive after it when she smacked into Chase and Spike's statue in the Crystal Empire.
"No!" Luna exclaimed in disappointment.
"Sorry!" Pinkie apologized as Luna exited Pinkie's dream. Pinkie then jumped again to find herself in Ponyville and standing next to a giant ice cream cone.
"Who wants ice cream?!" Pinkie shouted as several ponies came out of their houses and stared at her.
(Scene changes)
In Fluttershy's dream, the yellow Pegasus was just sitting quietly as a Giant Angel bunny was brushing her mane.
"Now don't tell Daddy that Mommy said this Angel," Fluttershy said, "but...mmm, it's so nice to be the pet for once." It was then the Tantabus appeared and zapped Giant Angel's tail, turning him into an evil monster. Fluttershy didn't notice until Giant Evil Angel was using his now razor sharp claws to brush her mane. Fluttershy turned around and Giant Evil Angel roared at her.
"N-n-n-n-nice...giant...evil Angel...!" Fluttershy quivered fearfully. Giant Evil Angel went on the attack. Fluttershy screamed as Luna swooped in and carried her up to the top of the tree.
"Phew! Oh, thank you, princess!" said Fluttershy.
Luna then saw the Tantabus enter a birdhouse. Luna then made a door appear in the sky and entered it to continue to the pursuit. Fluttershy just watched her leave until she noticed that Giant Evil Angel was trying to bite the side of the tree.
(Scene changes)
Elsewhere, Applejack and Clay were on the farm polishing a giant apple.
"Now this is what I call an incredible dream," said Applejack.
"Ya can say that again, honey." Clay agreed as he kissed his wife on the cheek, making her giggle.
Above them, the Tantabus had arrived and turned some healthy apple trees into wilted lifeless trees. It was then that an apple flower blossomed and Luna appeared. She quickly looked around and saw the Tantabus.
Applejack and Clay then saw the Tantabus in the reflection of her giant apple and turned around to see it destroying the apple trees. Before they could react, the Tantabus went through the giant apple, turning it into a wilted apple core. Luna flew into the core and soon found herself out of Applejack and Clay's dream and inside a new one.
Inside what appeared to be a dark cavern, Rainbow was fighting several changelings. She even took three down in slow motion and smiled smugly until one tried to grab her from behind until Luna blasted it away.
"I can see the Tantabus has already turned your slumbers into a nightmare!" said Luna.
"What are you talking about?" Rainbow replied, "This is my favorite dream!" Luna was left rather stunned until the Tantabus appeared and turned the entire area into one of those happy landscapes one would see in a preschool television show. Then some sunflowers sprouted and started humming to "This Old Man" before singing in a tone that was anything but sweet and happy. Actually the tone was just downright creepy.

We will now sing for hours
Aren't we unbearably cute?
Watch me solo on jazz flute
The flowers all had evil smiles on their faces as one sunflower did a flute solo.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!" Rainbow screamed.
Luna looked a little disturbed until she saw the Tantabus take off into the air and she quickly followed after it.
(Scene changes)
In Twilight's dream, she was just sitting in the middle of a vast library surrounded by lots of books. As she finished reading one book, it flew away and another rested itself on her desk so she could read it. The Tantabus then made its presence known as came out of one book.
"Huh?" Twilight said and then gasped when she saw some of the books had turned into monsters.
Twilight quickly dodged and flew off as the monster books chased after her. She then gasped again as the Tantabus monster appeared before her. Before she could react, Luna appeared between her and the Tantabus and fired a magic blast at it.
"Luna!" Twilight exclaimed as Luna encased the Tantabus in some crystal.
Just then Luna turned around to see Twilight being overwhelmed by the monster books as they attacked her. Luna wasn't sure of what to do when the crystal shattered and the Tantabus escaped. But all of a sudden it stopped and glowed an orange aura briefly before it escaped.
"Stay strong, Twilight Sparkle!" Luna called out as she jumped in a space between some books to chase after the Tantabus.
(Scene changes)
In a different dream, Chase, Jade, Nyx, and Sunray screamed as they fell through a cloud before they landed hard on a mountain, making them grunt loudly.
They moaned in pain as they tried to straighten themselves up before looking around to see that they were in a different landscape in Equestria that they were not familiar with.
"Where the heck are we?" Chase asked his family with surprise.
"I don't know, but I don't remember this place at all." Jade responded back.
"Well, we gotta find something that'll help us." Chase said as he slid down the mountain with his family following them.
Princess Luna then appeared in the dream.
"There you four are!" Princess Luna said as she floated down to them. "I've tried to stop the Tantabus, but it's far too strong to handle."
"We had a feeling this was gonna be hard, Princess Luna." Nyx said with concern.
"But right now, the only question is this." Sunray said, changing the subject. "Where the heck are we?"
They walked up a hill before their eyes laid upon the Hollow Shades village. Judging by the looks of it, the five ponies could only look at the village view as it was abandoned for many centuries judging by the looks of its broken houses.
"What is this place?" Chase asked. "I don't remember this village before."
"I believe it is called the Hollow Shades. It was a little village where Earth Ponies used to be until I learned from Celestia that the Quinkan have taken it over as their own lair." Princess Luna theorized with a grim yet worried expression.
"Then maybe this is where Zhao has gotta be." Chase said before he noticed something heading into the village. "Wait! Look!"
The four turned to see the Tantabus heading into the village and went into the Well of Shade.
"The Tantabus is heading in that old Well! We gotta go after it!" Sunray exclaimed as he was about to rush in, but Chase stopped him.
"Wait! It's not the only one!" Chase said as he spotted some Protoquin, Pyroquin, and Uberquin soldiers going into the Well.
"We must go see and find out what plan Zhao has for ruling Equestria." Princess Luna said, firmly.
"Right. Come on, guys." Chase said as he led his family and Princess Luna down the road to the village.
Using their jiu jitsu skills, Chase, Jade, Sunray, and Nyx jumped over and ran across some roofs of the houses with Luna flying after them before they eventually made it to the Well of Shade. Chase slid downward on the wall through Well with his family following him from behind and they hid in the shadows to remain out of sight.
Chase was the first to look around and witnessed the Quinkan approaching Zhao's throne. Quietly sneaking through the shadows, Chase, his family, and Luna hid behind another pillar. They looked to see a portal standing in front of them with Zhao sitting on his throne smiling wickedly with the Tantabus by his side.
"Finally. After all these years, I have found the gateway to the dream world." Zhao said sinisterly. "Now, I will finally have my revenge on the ponies and rid them from Equestria, once and for all. Go to the dream realm and feed off the happiness of those ponies living in Ponyville."
The Protoquin, Pyroquin, and Uberquin nodded before they jumped through the portal Zhao smirked evilly before he felt a presence.
"Hmm, it seems I am not the only one here." Zhao said as he used his magic and grabbed the five ponies, making them yelp in surprise as they were dragged out of the shadows into the light.
The Quinkan leader released them from his magic grasp as he smirked evilly at them.
"Hello, my enemies." Zhao said deviously.
"Alright, Zhao." Chase said, glaring at his enemy. "You've gotten our attention. What kind of scheme do you have planned this time?"
"No scheme, just ready to pay a visit to the dreamworld." Zhao said deviously.
"No! I will not allow you to feed off the happiness of my subjects!" Luna shouted. "What are you even doing with the Tantabus in your control, Zhao?! You have no idea what its powers are capable of!"
"So it was because you were turned into the villainous pony, Nightmare Moon long ago, and haven't forgiven yourself." Zhao said with an evil glare. "You worry too much, Luna."
"You can't just have it in your grasp, Zhao!" Chase said angrily. "The Tantabus is too dangerous! This will spell disaster for us all!"
Zhao however laughed evilly.
"On the contrary, Chase. It spells disaster for you and your precious family you care so much about." Zhao said with an evil smirk before he pointed at the five ponies. "DESTROY THEM!"
The Tantabus fired an orange beam of magic at the five ponies, but they dodged it as they turned to see it entering the dreamworld of Ponyville.
"You won't get away with this!" Chase shouted angrily.
"Hahahaha!" Zhao laughed evilly. "Who's going to stop me?!"
Then he jumped through the portal as it shined brightly, blinding the five ponies in the process.
(Scene changes)
All twelve ponies woke up with a start, all of them sweating heavily. Spike was reading a book when he heard the collective gasp and, to nopony's surprise, rushed to Rarity's bedside first.
"What happened?" Spike asked worriedly, "Are you guys okay?"
"That...that was terrible!" said Fluttershy, "I-I never want to have that nightmare again!" Fluttershy shivered in her bed as Sokka held her close for comfort.
"Me neither!" said Rainbow as she shivered in her bed before she held her hind hooves and started rocking back and forth in her bed, humming to herself.
"But Luna caught it, didn't she?" Spike asked.
"I'm so sorry, my friends," said Luna as she landed in the middle of the surrounding beds, "I failed. It will be back to infect your dreams the next time you sleep."
"Oh, no!" Fluttershy exclaimed as she ducked under her blanket to hide. But then everypony attention was directed toward Chase, who was breathing heavily with fear and worry.
"Honey, are you alright?" Twilight asked her husband with concern.
"No, sweetie. I'm not." Chase said with worry as he climbed out of bed. "I think we know who's behind all of this. Zhao's returned."
"Zhao is behind all of this?" Clay asked in surprise as the others were horrified. "How is this possible?"
"Somehow, he's got the Tantabus in his Quinkan magic and has found a way to the dreamworld so he can feast on the other ponies' happiness." Jade explained as she, Nyx, and Sunray stood beside Chase.
"He won't stop until he has everything he needs to begin fulfilling his plan to rule Equestria again." Nyx added.
"That can't be good." Sokka said with dread.
Applejack gave a snort.
"Yeah." Applejack remarked as she turned to face the group, "I reckon I could live without seeing that thing or Zhao and the Quinkan ever again."
"But you will," said Luna as she got into Applejack's, Chase's, Pinkie's, and Twilight's faces, "Again and again, every night, until the Tantabus grows powerful enough to infect the waking world. After what I did as Nightmare Moon, the fact that I am once again responsible for harming others is more than I can bear." Luna then looked at the moon as she spoke.
"It'll be okay!" said Pinkie, "Everypony makes mistakes!"
"As long as none of you dreamt about another pony," said Luna, "The Tantabus remains confined to your dreams. I still have a chance to catch it before it's too late."
"Phew, that's good to hear!" said Pinkie, "Although after you left, I happened to dream that I was eating a giant ice cream cone with all of Ponyville while taking a test we hadn't studied for. See, what'd tell ya? Everypony makes mistakes." Luna winced fearfully.
"But that means with the Tantabus in the Quinkans' magic grasp, Zhao could be turning every dream in Ponyville into a nightmare!" Twilight pointed out.
"Along with that, he'll be unstoppable!" Chase added.
"It is far worse than that," Luna pointed out, "Infecting all those dreams gives Zhao and the Tantabus more and more power. Soon the Tantabus will be able to escape into the real world and Zhao will have all of its energy to infect Equestria with his own nightmare plague along with bringing back the Age of Ragnerok! That will also happen when he has the advantage of rising the Sanzu River again!"
"Then you must let us help you stop it and the Quinkan before that happens," said Rarity firmly.
"Rarity is right." Jade agreed. "That thing and Zhao have to be stopped and we're just the ponies who can help you do it!"
"But how?" Fluttershy asked, "The Tantabus was able to escape Luna when it only had nine dreams it could get to!"
"And it certainly made the effort to overwhelm each of us from trying to help Luna or capture it ourselves!" Sokka added. "And there's no telling if the Quinkan are already invading the dreamworld."
"It is true," said Luna, "With so many dreams to hide in, along with Zhao trying to take control of the dreamworld, I do not know if I can catch it."
"Too bad you can't just make a power pellet appear and chomp it into oblivion," said Pinkie. The others gave her funny looks.
"Pinkie, the Tantabus isn't a ghost," said Nyx as a matter of fact.
"Sorry, just a thought," Pinkie replied.
"Hmm...What if everypony in Ponyville were having one dream?" Twilight asked.
"That...would be a good idea," said Chase, "It would certainly make tracking the Tantabus much easier along with stopping Zhao and his Quinkan forces once more."
"I...can create shared dreams, yes, but for so many ponies at once?" Luna pondered, "I have never done anything like that. The amount of power it would take..."
"Well, it is worth a try, isn't it?" Fluttershy suggested.
"Of course," Luna replied, "I will do anything to end this, including accepting your help. I cannot allow the Tantabus escape into the real world and have Zhao absorb its powers. All of you must go back to sleep and hope that I can create such a dream."
"Then we got no other choice, we have to stop them." Chase said with a determined look.
Twilight held her husband in agreement as they both went to sleep in their bed. The rest of the group did the same, including Spike. Luna then closed her eyes and hovered into the air. Using her magic, she then created a dream network that expanded to all the ponies of Ponyville and soon the network engulfed the town in a bright light.
(Scene changes)
As the dream came into existence, some muffins with wings were flying to across the sky. Several of the townsponies were surprised to see each other in the same dream. One Pegasus flew by backwards on her back while Mayor Mare moved backwards nervously until she bumped into something. She looked behind herself to find that Muffins was now a giant.
"Meow" Muffins replied to Mayor Mare before she walked away.
Elsewhere, Lyra and Bon Bon were surprised to see each other and that they were connected to each other as a two headed pony. They hugged each other in reply. It was then the Mane twelve were walking by when they saw Berry Punch holding her head on a string like a balloon, Cherry Berry was rowing a boat across the sky and a lamppost came up to say hello and walked away.
"Princess Luna did it!" Twilight said happily.
"Yeah! She did!" Chase added happily.
Applejack and Clay couldn't help but feel a little baffled. They then noticed a small pony running away from a regular sized Opal and shivered at the sight. Then they noticed a familiar stallion appear.
"Big Mac!" said Applejack, "Boy, Clay and I are glad to see somethin' familiar!"
"Uh, honey?" Clay asked with a shocked look as he observed his brother-in-law.
Applejack's jaw dropped when she saw that the big earth pony was now a unicorn.
"Eeyup," Big Mac replied as he made a giant talking apple appear from his horn, which flew across the sky.
Clay, however, dropped his shocked look and smiled as he realized something as he chuckled.
"Well, looks like Big Mac always said he wished he could have been born a unicorn," Clay said, laughing to himself.
"Ponies!" somepony shouted. It was then everypony turned to see Princess Luna trapped inside a white bubble and pushing her magic power to the limit. They immediately bowed down to her.
"There is no time for bowing, my friends!" Luna told them, "There is something coming, something terrible! No, it is already here!"
Luna then pointed to the sky and the ponies all looked to see the Tantabus above them, growling menacingly at them. To make matters worse, Zhao and the Quinkan army appeared on rooftops as their leader laughed evilly. The ponies all screamed in terror.
"I am so sorry!" said Luna, "I brought this upon you! But I will end it now!"
Luna then fired a magic blast at it, but it was no good. The Tantabus just groaned and continued its attack on the rest of the ponies, who were running for their lives. The Mane twelve and Spike approached the moon princess.
"Princess, what's wrong?" Twilight asked.
"Is there something we can do?" Nyx asked with concern.
"It...is taking all my strength just to hold this massive dream together!" said Luna, not noticing the three extra ponies before her or the fact the Tantabus had flown past behind her, "You will have to stop it, Zhao, and the Quinkan! I truly wish I did not have to ask this of you!"
Twilight and Nyx smiled with each other.
"Then you're in luck," said Twilight.
"Because we're ready for battle!" said Nyx, making Twilight smile.
"Yeah! We're already on it!" said Rainbow.
"Alright, here's what we're gonna do." Chase said, gaining everyone's attention as he pointed at the girls and Spike. "You guys keep the Tantabus busy while Jade, Sunray, Clay, and I will take on the Quinkan!"
"You got it, honey!" Twilight said, smirking at the idea as the others agreed before they charged at the Tantabus together and then split up.
It was then the Tantabus went through a house, turning into a living monster. It then did the same to another house, causing a pony to run for their life.
Chase and his team stood face to face with Zhao and his army as the leader of the Quinkan jumped down to the ground. He stood tall with an evil smirk he shot at the five ponies as they glared at him.
"Since you have kept your friends busy with my prized possession, there will be no more interference for our fight! You have seen me before at Cloudsdale and will be the last thing you will ever see, Chase Young!" Zhao declared as he unleashed his hidden blades from both his gauntlets before he pointed his left arm at them with his fist clenched and the tip of his blades pointing at the five ponies. "Prepare to meet your destiny and your doom!"
"Well, looks like he's all yours to take on, Chase." Clay said nervously.
"Yeah, and real nice armor too if I might have forgotten." Sokka added.
"Yeah but something tells me they didn't get all dressed up for nothing in this dream." Sunray said.
"Guys, we're in for the fight of our lives." Chase said as he lit his horn and made his aura hands appear on his front hooves while standing on his hind legs as his siblings did the same before the got into a fighting stance with Clay and Sokka doing the same.
Dishing out their respective weapons, Chase and his team readied themselves for the fight.
"Quinkan, attack! Destroy them all!" Zhao ordered.
They charged forward, Chase and his team were starting off okay, taking down and defending against the Quinkan using every skill they knew to fight. Clay stood in front of a group of Pyroquin, spinning his kusarigama chain when suddenly Zhao jumped in and delivered a powerful kick right into Clay's side knocking him down.
Sunray knocked a few Protoquin down with his staff when Zhao suddenly grabbed the end of the staff and knocked him down. Sunray gasped as an Uberquin was about to punch him with his left fisted hand, but Jade blocked it with her tessen fans, giving Sunray the chance to move out of the way.
"Watch your back, Sunray!" Jade said with strain as she struggled against the Uberquin.
Sunray smirked as he got into the battle.
"Isn't that your for as well, Jade?!" Sunray joked.
Sokka knocked a few Protoquin aside as well as some Pyroquin before he dodged one holding a flaming spear as it threw it at the Pegasus stallion, but Sokka proved to be too quick for it as the spear hits the side of the house, creating fire around it. The fire quickly spread all around them as they continued to fight.
Zhao stood before Chase, Jade, and Sunray as the three charged at the Quinkan leader. But Zhao tail swiped Jade away and kicked both Chase and Sunray down with a powerful split kick.
Elsewhere in Dreamy Ponyville, one monster house had grabbed Filthy Rich.
"Please," Filthy Rich begged, "I'll pay you anything!" The monster house just roared in reply as Rainbow arrived on the scene.
Rainbow did a karate kick at the monster house's face. This made the monster house drop Filthy Rich.
"I got you!" Rainbow managed to catch the business pony before he could fall.
In another part of Ponyville, several ponies were running and screaming for their lives. Twilight and Nyx were flying overhead.
"Mom! Over there!" Nyx called out.
One pony, named Mane Moon was straining to keep himself from getting eaten as he was wedged between the monster house's mouth. Twilight and Nyx then fired two strong magic blasts at the monster house's face, which allowed Mane Moon to escape and landed comfortably on Applejack's back.
Not too far away, Fluttershy had found a pony trapped between the toes of the monster's houses foot. Then she transformed into her bat form and used her new fangs to give the monster's foot a good chomp. The monster howled and loosened it's grip on the pony as Fluttershy carried him to safety.
Then another pony was at the mercy of a giant venus fly trap when Applejack used a lasso to shut the plant's mouth. Applejack then looked to the side to see Big Mac overwhelmed by flying muffin monsters.
"Oh no! Big Mac!" Applejack called out, "You can do anythin' in a dream, remember?"
Big Mac then closed his eyes as red stars appeared in them. He then rotated three hundred sixty degrees as he floated in the air before he got golden shoes on his hooves, a gem studded horse collar, and a crown on his head and now had his own pair of alicorn wings. He was now Prince Big Macintosh. He then blasted the muffins away with ease and took to the skies.
"Wheeeeee!" Big Macintosh cheered as he flew about and Applejack watched him soar.
"Come on!" said Rainbow. She and Applejack ran across the foreground as Muffins chased after some monster muffins in the background, "If that Tantabus thing turns any more of this dream against us, we'll be too busy saving ponies to catch it! I'm not sure how long Chase and his team can keep Zhao busy either! And it'll grow powerful enough to escape into the real world!"
"How are we even gonna know when it's able to escape?" Applejack asked as they caught up with the rest of the Mane twelve and Spike.
They watched as the Tantabus created a cosmic sword and sliced an opening out of Dreamy Ponyville and tried to go through it.
"Oh, I think we'll know," said Rainbow. Nyx pondered for a second before a determined look appeared on her face.
"Mom! Double blast now!" Nyx called as she and Twilight fired magic blasts at the Tantabus, causing it to back away from the portal. Princess Luna used all the spare magic she could muster to seal up the tear as the Tantabus floated across the foreground.
"Hurry, my friends!" Luna shouted in a strained tone.
Rainbow then went after the Tantabus and charged straight at it, but the Tantabus shifted shape into a ring for Rainbow to pass through it without damaging it.
"What the?!" Rainbow exclaimed.
Fluttershy then hovered over to some other ponies.
"Please, we need your help too!" Fluttershy pleaded.
Twilight then tried to fire her own magic blast at the Tantabus orb, but her blast went right though it unharmed.
"AAH!" Nyx yelped as she barely dodged the magic blast in time, "Watch it, Mom!"
"Sorry sweetie!" Twilight shouted, "I was just trying to help!" Twilight then turned to the other ponies Fluttershy was speaking to.
"Fluttershy's right!" said Twilight, "We've all got to work together to stop it from escaping!" The other ponies seemed very unsure about the idea.
"But how can we help?" Mr. Cake asked, "Nopony in Ponyville has your magic, or your speed!"
"That is true," said Rainbow smugly before adding as a matter of fact, "in Ponyville!"
"But this here isn't Ponyville!" said Applejack, "It's a dream!"
"Eeyup!" said Big Mac as he flew by firing his own magic blasts at some renegade flying muffin monsters.
"And not just any!" Twilight added, "This is your dream! Anything you can do in your dreams, you can do now!" The ponies remained quiet for a moment.
Spike smiled, feeling inspired as he got an idea as he snapped his fingers and transformed himself into a taller, more muscular, and, in his mind, more handsome, dragon knight.
"Well, if you're gonna dream, might as well dream big, right?" said Spike and then jumped into the back of Muffins, "Hi-yah!"
"Whoo!" Muffins shouted as she took to the skies.
The ponies cheered as they charged toward the Tantabus, which created a piece of scissors to cut another opening into the real world.
The Spike made a sword appear as he used it to slice the Tantabus orb into three pieces. Filthy Rich came by wearing a cape and creating a layer of bits to surf about as he fired a beam of bits at the Tantabus to damage it. It also knocked the Tantabus further away from the newly created portal for a moment but then it tried to escape once again. The Cutie Mark Crusaders took notice. Then Scootaloo got an idea and gave herself some giant wings, flew to the sky, and used them to create a gust of wind to blow the Tantabus away from the portal. Rainbow hovered over to her and nodded for a job well done. Rainbow then turned herself into a power pony form and created a tornado that sucked the Tantabus inside of it.
"It's working!" said Rainbow.
"But it's not enough!" Twilight shouted as the Tantabus broke free of the tornado and roared angrily at the ponies.
"Then do more!" Pinkie shouted, "This is a dream, remember?"
Twilight then headed over to the remains of the Golden Oak Library. She quickly restored the library as several books came flying at the Tantabus.
On the other side, the fire continued to roar as Chase and his team continued to battle against the Quinkan and Zhao. Clay kicked a Pyroquin away but was suddenly kicked by another Quinkan however it wasn't an entirely bad thing as he rammed right into three Protoquins Sunray was fighting and knocked them all down.
"Nice landing." Sunray said as he helped Clay up.
"They don't call me air-Clay for nothing." Clay joked.
Chase, Jade, and Sokka charged at Zhao, but the Quinkan leader kicked Sokka down along with knocking Jade aside. Just when Chase was about to strike him with his sword, Zhao kicked him in the chest and sent him straight into the house wall, breaking a chunk of it and causing him to drop his swords.
Chase was about to get up when two Uberquin soldiers grabbed the alicorn master and stood him up, holding him tightly as Zhao came from the flames and stood before Chase struggled in the Quinkan monsters' grips but they held onto him tight.
Zhao laughed as he raised his gauntlet to Chase.
"I will finish you first!" Zhao declared.
But suddenly, Clay, Sokka, Sunray, and Jade came in and kicked Zhao from behind, making him grunt in pain as he flew into a house, making it crumble down on the Quinkan leader. Then Chase double kicked the Uberquin aside.
"Thanks, guys!" Chase said to his siblings and two friends.
"Anytime, buddy." Sokka assured Chase before they turned their attention to the Quinkan as they growled at the five ponies.
Then Chase noticed the portal above the Quinkan and got an idea as he smirked deviously.
"Guys, remember that this is a dream?" Chase asked as Jade, Sunray, Clay, and Sokka turned to him. Then they realized this and smirked with him.
"Alright, let's send the Quinkan back to the Hollow Shades!" Sunray said.
"Do it, Chase!" Clay added with a grin.
With concentration, Chase focused his magic before he unleashed a beam of blue magic at the Quinkan into the portal as they roared in surprise. Then they were sucked back into the portal and it closed.
"Come on, we gotta help the others!" Chase said as he and his team ran to help their friends.
The Tantabus soon found itself overwhelmed by both the gold star attacks the flying books. Applejack then turned herself into her own power pony form and had her telepathic lasso at her side. She quickly lasso the tip of the Tantabus and pulled it away from another opening to the real world. Rarity then used a magic needle and thread to seal up the portal. Then the Giant Evil Angel appeared, but unlike before it was now at Fluttershy's command as she stood on its head and on her hind legs while commanding it to attack the Tantabus.
"We're doing it everypony!" Nyx called out, "Keep it up! We've almost got it defeated!" However, Luna wasn't feeling so confident.
"I cannot hold this dream together much longer!" Luna cried out, "Equestria will fall because of me!"
As soon as Luna finished speaking that the Tantabus recovered from all the damage it had taken and tripled in size, knocking several ponies away from it. Pinkie and several ponies on the ground winced at the sight.
Chase and his team arrived as they were shocked by what they were now seeing.
"Am I crazy, or did it just get even bigger after Luna said that?" Spike pointed out.
Nyx remembered what Luna said and then blinked in realization.
"If that's true..." Nyx pondered, "then this nightmare isn't feeding off the fears of everypony. It's feeding off only one pony! Luna herself!"
"You're right, Nyx," said Twilight, "I think it's feeding off your guilt, Princess Luna!"
"If that is so, then perhaps that is how it grew strong enough to escape in the first place!" Luna realized.
"Say what now?!" Applejack remarked as she stood on a rooftop as the Tantabus created another portal to the real world.
"I created the Tantabus to give myself the same nightmare every night," Luna explained as her eyes filled with tears, "to punish myself for the evil I caused as Nightmare Moon!"
"But why would you do that?!" said Fluttershy as the Tantabus started to take shape.
"Why would you want to punish yourself?" Jade asked.
"You learned your lesson didn't you, Luna?" Chase asked, feeling his eyes water.
"All actions have consequences my little ponies," said Luna as she began to cry, "I had to make sure I never forgave myself for how much Equestria suffered because of me! But it seems I have not learned my lesson, for now I have only made you suffer more!"
Twilight cringed as the Tantabus was now a gigantic shadow version of Nightmare Moon and made the portal even larger so it could walk through it.
"But that means you might just be the key to stopping all of this!" said Twilight.
"Yeah!" said Rainbow as the Tantabus started making its way into the portal, "If it gets strong because you feel bad about what you did as Nightmare Moon, then you just gotta stop feeling bad for what you did!"
"How can I forgive myself?" Luna croaked, "I am no better now than I was then! My creation is about to turn the world into a living nightmare! And Zhao will have it in his grasp!"
"You're wrong, Luna!" Nyx said sternly as she hovered over to her, "You are not Nightmare Moon anymore."
"And you are not evil either!" said Jade in the same tone, "You just made a bad decision."
"You don't need to keep punishing yourself about the past," said Sokka, "Because what happened is just that, the past."
"You can't change the past, but you can change the future," said Chase, "You can't let what happened in the past prevent you from being happy. You deserve to be happy just as much as anypony."
"You do so much for ponies today, both in the real world and in the dream world," said Clay, "but all that good doesn't mean anything to you because you're stuck dwelling in the past."
"Ponies these days don't care anymore about what you did in the past," said Sunray, "especially your friends. All we care about is what you're doing now, which is helping ponies with their fears and insecurities and helping them through their dreams and nightmares! Alot of us would still be dwelling in our problems and having nightmares about what could happen if you hadn't given us the courage to take action and know that everything will be okay."
"That's true," said Twilight as she walked in front of the six ponies and spoke to the moon princess, who still had tears in her eyes, "Luna, look at what you're doing! Nightmare Moon would've wanted the Tantabus to turn Equestria into a nightmare! You're doing everything you can to stop it! Don't you see? That proves you're not the same pony you were then! Everypony who knows you knows that Nightmare Moon is in the past! We all trust you, Luna!"
"And we love you too!" Chase added.
The rest of the Mane twelve smiled at her.
"Do you trust us enough to believe we're right?" Twilight asked Luna. Luna looked at the group, who all gave her smiles. The Tantabus was more than halfway through the portal as Luna shed a few more tears.
"...I do!" said Luna happily.
The Tantabus suddenly was pulled right out of the portal with a shocked look on its face. Suddenly it began to shrink as the portal was sealed. Then the Tantabus was no bigger than Luna herself and walked into her white bubble and disappeared into her moon necklace.
"Thank you," said Luna, "Thank you all."
"Way to go, Luna!" Chase said with a happy smile.
"We did it!" Pinkie shouted happily as she bounced up and down.
"Well, I guess now, we know that this nightmare is officially over." Sunray said, smiling when…
"OF COURSE IT'S NOT OVER!" Zhao's voice was heard from behind the Mane twelve, making them widen their eyes before they turned to see the Quinkan leader bursting out of the house.
"Oh you gotta be kidding me!" Chase said with agitation.
"Why doesn't he ever just give up?!" Rainbow said as she glared at Zhao.
"You've destroyed my plan of bringing the Tantabus into the real world, but this is far from over!" Zhao said deviously. "I was able to absorb enough energy from the creature to complete my transfiguration! WITNESS THE FACE OF YOUR ULTIMATE CHALLENGE!"
Suddenly, Zhao began to concentrate as he was now encased in an orange aura and strangely his form began to grow big.
All the ponies, Spike and Princess Luna could do was watch in shock as the orange aura helped Zhao grow to full size to that of a dragon. Then, in a ball of fire, the aura exploded as the ponies and Spike shielded themselves as the smoke blew in the area.
Princess Luna was the first to look at Zhao, only to gasp in horror as her eyes went wide as the size of pint holes as the Quinkan leader revealed his new form.
He was a massive dark-scaled Dragonquin with razor sharp teeth, talons, and claws. His outer body appeared dark purple, almost black, with massive wings and bladed claws at the end, with long red scales along its back. He had two tails with red tips at the end, armor appearing merged with his chest, and a dark red headpiece almost like a dark crown embedded on its head, with glowing red eyes.
The Mane twelve, Spike, and all of Ponyville had their jaws dropped as they gazed at Zhao's horrifying Dragonquin form.
"T-T-T-That's a big Dragonquin." Spike stuttered while pointing at Zhao fearfully.
Nopony could agree as they had never seen Zhao this horrifying.
Zhao then let out bone-chilling and demonic roar that made everypony cover their ears. When he finished, he raised his fists in the air and slammed them both on the ground, creating a crevasse in the middle as the ponies jumped out of the way in different directions as Zhao roared out while walking toward the ponies.
The ponies, minus the mane twelve, Spike, and Princess Luna, ran in different directions away from Zhao screaming in horror as he breathed a ball of red fire from his mouth at some house, making them go on fire.
"What do we do now?!" Sokka asked with worry as Zhao roared viciously and began to rampage through the houses.
Zhao then back fisted the upper part of Town Hall, making it crumble to the ground and continued to smash through the houses. Chase thought harder before he came up with an idea.
"Jade, Sunray, do you guys remember when we were learning about our avatars with Mom and Dad?" Chase asked his sister.
"Yeah? What about them?" Jade asked, not understanding.
"I think it's time for us to try it in the dreamworld!" Chase replied back with determination, shocking the others.
"Wait! Go up against Zhao?! In that form?!" Rainbow asked in shock, thinking Chase was crazy. "We're not that strong enough to channel all of our powers against him!"
"No, I think he's onto something!" Jade said following her older brother's theory. "This is our chance to concentrate our magic to manifest our avatars!"
"I'm in!" Sunray said as he stood next to his brother and sister.
"Okay, it's time to show that creep who's boss!" Chase said with determination.
Then Chase, Jade, and Sunray stood on their hind legs, lit their horns so their aura hands appeared before they began to concentrate hard enough. Then they opened their eyes to reveal that Chase's eyes became white, Jade's eyes were purple, and Sunray's eyes were red as some magic began to swirl around them.
"Chase, what's going on? I'm feeling a little weird here!" Sunray said as he began to feel funny.
"Don't ask! Just keep doing it!" Chase responded back as the three were lifted into the air while the rest of the mane twelve, Spike, and Princess Luna watched in awe of what they were seeing.
The same could be said for the rest of Ponyville.
In a bright flash of light, Chase and his siblings assumed their respective dragon avatar forms.
Chase took the form of a mighty black and white dragon with massive wings, sharp talons and claws. His tail was long as well with rows of spikes going down his back, and upward spikes on the back of his head.
Sunray's dragon form had a gray and blue scales along its chest, shoulders, and knees, with white skinned arms, legs, tail, and head; while his wings appeared much smaller, there were eight of them, but he could still fly all the same.
Jade's dragon form was similar to Chase's, only purple, with long spikes along her back.
The mane twelve, Spike, Princess Luna, and the rest of Ponyville gazed at the three dragon avatars in awe and amazement. Then the three dragons flew after Zhao, who turned his attention to them.

Zhao unleashed a massive stream of dark red fire from his mouth in all directions at his circling enemies. Chase was the first to attack as he shot multiple large flaming projectiles in the form of missiles with razor-sharp rocks at the front to deal extra damage. This forced the Quinkan leader to stop his attack as he tried to block the attack with his wings, but this left him open for Jade to slam him in the back and send him crashing onto the ground.
But Zhao suddenly emerged from out of the ground in explosive fashion; the shockwave sending Chase and Jade crashing out of the air into the mountains around the area, as well as Sunray hurtling up through the air. Jade was able to recover in an effort to try to go on the attack, but Zhao grabbed her with his bladed-wings before slamming her onto the ground and sending her crashing into a building. Chase however recovered as he roared at the Dragonquin demon, who responded back with a powerful blast of dark red fire from his mouth. Chase however took to the air to avoid it as the blast hit the mountain, resulting in an explosion.
After a few more blasts that all but destroyed the remains of Ponyville, Zhao took to the skies where Chase and his siblings met him in an epic aerial battle.
While that was happening, the mane twelve, the Ponyville citizens, Spike, and Princess Luna watched in awe at the spectacular battle between the three dragon avatars and the Dragonquin demon.
Jade and Sunray attempted to grab and overwhelm Zhao, but the Dragonquin demon's physical strength seemed to keep them all at bay; however, this served as the perfect opening for Chase to come in as he focused his powers with an energy ball in his left clawed hand. Then he began generating a double-surge of lightning before shooting out both fingers and creating a double-blast of lightning, blasting a hole clear through Zhao's right wing.
The leader of the Quinkan turned his wrath towards Chase as he generated a massive surge of dark energy from his claws and blasted a beam of pure darkness straight at him, but Chase managed to dodge it just in time. Then he flew at Zhao full force and punched him in the chest before back-kicking him in the center.
Chase then used this opportunity to shoot a blast of cyan-colored energy from his hands; which Jade and Sunray added with their own purple and red energy beams of their own.
The combined power of all three of them was enough to nearly obliterate Zhao, causing a powerful explosion that rocked the whole sky. Out of the dust cloud fell Zhao, in his Quinkan form, before fell all the way back to the ground and making a large crater upon impact. It was finally over, Zhao was defeated.
Chase, Jade, and Sunray landed at the edge of the crater as they looked down at the fallen Quinkan leader. Then they returned back to their pony forms as they glared at Zhao as he got back on his feet before he glared back at the three.
"It's over, Zhao!" Chase declared, glaring at Zhao as the rest of the mane twelve, Spike, Princess, Luna, and all of Ponyville came to join the three, glaring down at the Quinkan leader. "You've lost!
Zhao growled at them angrily.
"Fool! I will never be beaten again!" Zhao declared as he glared at Chase. "This is not over, Chase Young! I swear… I will return someday to destroy you, the rest of your friends, family, and bring Equestria TO ITS KNEES!"
Then Zhao used his magic to open a portal back to the Hollow Shades in the real world. As he disappeared, everypony cheered happily for the three. Twilight approached Chase and hugged him with a proud smile.
"You did it with your siblings, honey!" Twilight said happily to her husband. "You saved the dreamworld!"
"We all did it." Chase said with a smile before he turned his attention to Luna, who smiled at him. "Princess Luna, if you will do the honors, please?"
Princess Luna nodded before she gave off a bright light to end the dream.
(Scene changes)
The rooster crowed loudly as the Mane twelve and Spike woke up from their slumber. Twilight couldn't help but wake up with a start.
"You and Luna did it, Chase!" said Twilight.
"Thanks to you guys, we're all happily safe." Chase added.
"You, Jade, Sunray, and Luna sure did! That battle was also somethin'!" Applejack said. Only...I'm not exactly sure what Luna did."
"Luna created the Tantabus to punish herself," Twilight explained, "The worse she felt, the more power it had! But once she finally forgave herself for what Nightmare Moon did..."
"...Poof!" said Spike as she climbed up the couple's bed and pointed at Chase, Jade, and Sunray. "That's when Chase, Jade, and Sunray took on Zhao's scary Dragonquin monster form after he absorbed the power of the Tantabus before the three of you guys beat him!"
"Shh!" said Fluttershy as she and Sokka lay on their stomachs at the front of their bed.
"Luna is asleep!" Sokka whispered quietly. The others just watched with curiosity.
"Huh. Wonder what she's dreaming about now," said Spike.
"I guess we'll know that she's finally having a peaceful dream to herself." Chase said, smiling down at the Princess of The Night.
(Scene changes)
Luna was just sleeping underneath a giant flower on an island in the middle of a tranquil lake surrounded by exotic flowers. It was the first time she had slept so soundly in a long time.
(Scene changes)
Back in the real world in the Well of Shade, Zhao was sitting on his throne with his eyes closed in meditation. He was still angry after loosing the battle with Chase, Jade, and Sunray, but this was still far from over.
Then he opens his eyes with a sinister smirk.
"Well, the battle may have ended, but this war is still not over yet." Zhao said to himself deviously. "Know this, Chase Young. Once I have you and Twilight in my trap to pay a visit to the past resulting in getting your cutie marks from the Sonic Rainboom, you two will not be able to form the friendship you made with the rest of your friends. Because now, I will be more invincible to finally rule the world once again!"
He laughed evilly and manically as his laughter echoes through the throne room.

Here's the 11th chapter. I've decided to do an epic battle in this chapter for Chase, Jade, and Sunray to do their avatar dragon forms to take on Zhao's Dragonquin demon form. Also, I've done some twists and turns for this chapter on the dreams.
Here's what I came up for Zhao's dragon form for the roars: It has the roars of the Land Before Time VI Browridge Sharptooth (Allosaurus) Sound Effects and the King Kong roars from the Peter Jackson's king kong game. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. I'll be back to writing some more.
