Chapter 3!
I'm updating this the same day as If It All Breaks so check that out too if you want! I should be able to get back to updating more regularly though I can't say I have a schedule like I used to since there's a lot of stories to write for and also new one shots and the like to test. Either way, I'll do my best!
User/Reviewer Aisune: Glad you're enjoying it and that I've gotten what I was going for as far as getting a good hold of Slice of Life for this story. It can be a bit tedious sometimes and not to mention the little extra bits of research needed.
User/Reviewer SentinelSlice: Thanks for the review! A lot of interesting ideas both about the splitting and the outfit. I decided to keep her outfit closer to Kizaru's cause it just fits so well especially since she's a laid back person and while her quirk is flashy, as a person she can't really be considered that. Honestly she can probably almost be mistaken for a civilian while in outfit too. I'd have to do a little thinking on the splitting and how that works but I might be able to come up with something after a bit more research and referencing.
User/Reviewer Random65: I checked them out and yeah there are definitely some similarities for sure, glad you're enjoying the story!
User/Reviewer Cyde: Yeah Kizaru's abilities are nuts and that's part of why I love him so much haha. I absolutely am going to go forward with just an Izumi with zero issues and I hopefully have some stuff lined up that everyone else will find funny too. Everyone is just gonna kinda look like chumps against her honestly. I do kinda want to try something with Aokiji's powers too but I just haven't found an idea to work it in with quite yet. Whenever I give Izumi a OP ability I have the urge to make her super strong, especially if the corresponding character is extremely powerful.
User/Reviewer yomunot: Thanks for always reviewing! I really do like writing cute stuff for Momo and Izumi in Slice of Light because there's just so much I can do thanks to their personalities. I already have some stuff drafted out for some action parts and Izumi is just speed running them tbh. This story is absolutely mainly for good times with sprinkles of action and touches of emotional stuff.
User/Reviewer EndlessChains: Thanks for the reviews as always! I've definitely been pleased with the different day to day things the two of them can do together as well as how Momo can enjoy things and grow more through the experiences with Izumi. Everyone's in store for being exasperated by Izumi's abilities and strange personality for sure.
To everyone who faved, followed, or reviewed thank you so much!

Enjoy, more notes at the end!
Chapter 3: Trials of Play
*All Might POV*
All Might felt relieved when the green haired girl gave him a knowing smile after his awkward teaching display. Midoriya Izumi, despite realizing his novice abilities at teaching simply reassured him with a nod that things were alright and to proceed on at a comfortable pace for himself.
It was his first class and 1-A would be doing battle trials today so once they had all been suited up he had explained the purpose of the exercise and paired off the students through a random draw. Now, the current pairs that were up to the plate were the hero team, Midoriya and Uraraka, and the villain team, Iida and Bakugo. The villain team had already entered the site to position the bomb while the hero team seemed to be comfortably speaking just outside, though mostly Midoriya appearing to reassure Uraraka with her laid back nature.
The greenette's hero costume was in a way both interesting and plain. She wore pure white dress shoes with a clasp of green running horizontally across the top. A pair of black slacks that she tucked the green dress shirt, which matched her hair, into while the long sleeves were rolled up to her forearms. A white vest rested over the shirt while a yellow tie was neatly done around the green shirt's collar and beneath the vest. A large white coat, the shoulders and end of the sleeves adorned and colored yellow, was loosely draped around her shoulders while a pair of green tinted sunglasses sat a top her head. Midoriya had her hands in her pockets, her overall posture relaxed and without worry, while she spoke with her partner.
The preparation time came to an end and the blonde hero called a start to the exercise with the hero team making their move, Uraraka entering cautiously and Midoriya following nonchalantly. Being the only one besides the in exercise students to be able to listen in, All Might carefully observed and kept his ears open. The hero team continued their trek through the building's floors and Midoriya once again reassured the gravity girl.
"Bakugo-san seemed quite eager," Midoriya chuckled softly, "perhaps he'll come after us alone?" She added on questioningly, her eased expression never leaving her face.
Uraraka nodded at her question, "Well, it'll be 2 versus 1 but he still seems really tough." The brown haired girl replied thoughtfully, a touch nervous as she scanned about.
The greenette was about to respond but All Might saw her gaze shift lazily an instant before Bakugo ambushed the hero pair with a fierce explosion. Uraraka was tossed to the side and the blast engulfed Midoriya who was then shot out of the smoke, on her back and unmoving.
Bakugo grinned wildly, "Got ya you damn bastard!" He howled happily but his eyes widened up when he turned his gaze to the girl he attacked.
Uraraka screeched in horror and All Might was stunned into silence when he realized that Midoriya's arm wasn't connected to her body. The explosive boy was frozen as well and once the rest of the class processed what they were seeing they burst out in a series of shouts.
"No way, no way!"
"S-Sir you should stop this right?"
"Oh god her arm was blown off!"
The blonde hero was about to call the exercise and rush in himself but a confused hum stopped him.
"Ehh? How horrible." Midoriya's voice came through with an underlying hint of sarcasm and mock surprise as she laid on the ground staring up at the ceiling.
The green haired girl's body began to glow, her removed arm as well, and the particles of light dragged themselves off the ground. It didn't take long for the girl to reform herself into a standing position while also looking as if she had taken no damage at all, not even a speck of dirt on her costume. Midoriya's expression was that of someone who was poorly acting as if they were surprised and the other two students, as well as all the observers, were speechless. Midoriya released a small breath and another flash of light sparked before she was in front of Bakugo and had launched him straight down the hall with what seemed to be a kick.
"Uraraka-san?" The greenette addressed her partner who jumped a little, "Shall we keep heading for the bomb?" Midoriya asked in her casual tone and all the gravity girl could do was nod wordlessly.
The pair was about to move on when explosions sounded at the end of the hall and Bakugo was rocketing towards them.
"You fucking faker!" The explosive blonde growled in a rage, "I'll blow you to pieces!" Rearing his arm back he aimed straight for the greenette, his eyes wide in anger.
Midoriya flipped her sunglasses down and removed her left hand from her pocket, her fingertips burning brightly and blinding the boy before her. Another kick sent him skidding back and Bakugo swiped at his eyes once he tumbled into a crouching position. The boy was practically seething at this point and he narrowed his eyes until a mad grin suddenly appeared on his lips. Pointing his gauntlet towards the other two students, his grin widened as he went for the pin.
"Oh? That seems dangerous." Midoriya commented and two beams of light pierced the explosive blonde's gauntlets from her pointed finger, breaking the support items. "If you get too happy I'll know it was a secret weapon." The light girl lectured to Bakugo's surprise.
A few more smaller beams hit Bakugo and exploded against him while he was stunned, the blonde being knocked unconscious and Midoriya appeared above his downed form and wrapped him in capture tape.
"BAKUGO HAS BEEN CAPTURED!" All Might announced, having been snapped out of his daze.
He was sure that everyone that had just seen what Midoriya was capable of was still bewildered by what they had witnessed. The hero team had continued on their way towards the bomb, Uraraka constantly asking if the greenette was alright and Midoriya giving her a small laugh and reassuring nod each time, and before long they had reached Iida. Bursting into the room, Midoriya striding in as lax as always, Uraraka rushed at Iida who grabbed the bomb and took off.
Midoriya remained at the doorway and her eyes traced the running boy's movement. Another point of a finger and a light beam hit right where the blue haired boy was about to step creating a small hole that broke his balance. Uraraka made a dash for and retrieved the bomb while Midoriya captured Iida and All Might called their victory. The greenette ran a hand through her hair and returned her glasses back to the top of her head while turning and giving a small tilt of the head and a brief smile, perhaps with a small hint of smugness, to where the camera was. All Might heard a sigh behind him and caught a glimpse of Yaoyorozu taking a breath while her hand was placed over her chest in relief.
Truthfully, Midoriya was a bit absurd.

*Momo POV*
Momo only realized what she was doing once she bit into one of the onigiri that Izumi had placed on the table beside her.
After their hectic battle trials Momo had slightly scolded Izumi about her bout of carelessness, the greenette assuring her that it was fine and no damage was actually done. The day had proceeded smoothly without further incident although some of the class was noticeably tip toeing around Izumi but eventually eased up thanks to her lightheartedness. The greenette even made quick acquaintances with Aoyama and Hagakure perhaps due to all three of their light related quirks. The light girl was nonchalantly listening to the blonde's stories just before Momo had dragged her off to head home.
Momo stared down at the food that Izumi had prepared for her, "What was I doing again?" She wondered aloud still staring forward at the screen before her and Izumi gave a short chuckle while she took a seat beside her.
"We left school and you lectured me about the battle trial," Izumi started while Momo flushed a bit, "then, you asked if you could come over to study but became interested in video games so here we are." The lazing greenette quietly hummed in amusement. After hearing Izumi's recount of events, Momo realized there was a controller in her free hand and that it had been a few hours since they must have arrived at Izumi's house.
The creation girl felt a tad embarrassed about how easily she became distracted and with a cough tried to hide it, "W-well then we should get to studying then shouldn't we?" she tried and Izumi held another rice ball out to her.
"This one has tempura in it." Izumi offered and Momo eagerly took it, having already finished the other one.
The black haired girl happily took a bite before she realized that Izumi had tricked her once more, "Th-this isn't..." Momo defended, putting down the controller and waving her hand in denial all while her light using companion smiled with her eyes.
"It's fine, it's fine," Izumi assured her, "just keep having fun, I already finished my homework." She relayed, much to the black haired girl's surprise.
"Wait, when?" Momo wondered while going back to indulging in the snack that Izumi had made for her.
Pushing a cup of tea towards her, Izumi took a sip of her own, "While we were on the train here." She told her nonchalantly.
Honestly, Momo hadn't even realized that the greenette had done that but a small thought clicked, "You didn't listen to my lecture at all then did you?" She questioned with a bit of a pout. Izumi said she'd take things seriously but no matter how you looked at it she was anything but serious during the battle trial.
"Oh?" Izumi tilted her head and hummed with her usual nigh sarcastic inflection, "I thought I did quite well today."
Momo sighed at the other girl's usual strange antics, she couldn't deny Izumi's results or that she wasn't hurt at all, "Fine, but you can stand to be more careful! Bakugo was able to sneak up on you and almost land an attack!" She admonished once more though she was caught off guard by Izumi's small smile and bout of silence, "You knew he was there." Momo realized.
"I could have reshaped my body to avoid Bakugo during the exercise remember?" The light girl jogged Momo's memories of what she could do with her quirk, "but no one else knows that but us."
"That was going a bit far wasn't it?" Momo questioned, remembering just how freaked out everyone else was and her to a smaller extent.
"Maybe a little." Izumi answered, her tone completely and utterly unapologetic.
It was unrefined but Momo snorted at the greenette's words, "You're not sorry at all!" she retorted with a huff, both the user and the quirk were absolutely ridiculous!
It was hard not to compare a bit of her own capabilities to Izumi who was just so far ahead of anyone. The green haired girl didn't appear to have the drive to really push herself but still she was leagues above everyone in their class.
"You really can just do so much with your quirk can't you?" Momo asked, wondering if Izumi would shed more light on just how far away she was.
"I suppose I could have bounced myself straight to the bomb room if I wanted," The greenette revealed, lounging back and turning her gaze slightly towards Momo. "I didn't but I could have," she continued and the creation girl was drawn in by her words, "what things don't you do when you can?" She asked back and Momo was left dumbfounded.
Recollecting herself, Momo brushed it off, "you already know about my quirk though."
Izumi sat up and shuffled a little to her side to pull out a notebook and turned to a clean page. Scribbling for a moment while Momo curiously waited, Izumi slid the thing over and the creation girl took in the multiple individual parts that were sketched out and the detailed notes about needed qualities.
Looking up in confusion, Momo saw Izumi's relaxed face, "think you can make things that match those?" she requested while she propped her face up with her hand and took another sip of tea.
"But...what for?" Momo had to ask, not getting what the purpose was.
"Just to humor me," Izumi laughed and Momo sighed in exasperation at the simple reasoning. "If that's not good enough then how about we count it as studying?" The greenette offered, catching Momo's interest. What could this have to do with studying?
"I guess I can give it a shot." Momo agreed, figuring there wasn't much to lose.
While normally she wouldn't use her quirk for such unclear and loose reasoning, this was Izumi who was suggesting it so there could be something behind it that Momo just hadn't realized yet. The creation girl studied over the parts which looked like slightly bent or curved bars and things for fastening them as well as a cloth, and rummaged through her mind for things that were suitable for them. There were notes on pieces being durable as well as their measurements and Momo had to know just where Izumi was getting this idea from. The pony tailed girl quietly worked on each individual piece until each one was created exactly to order and she looked over to Izumi expectantly.
"Good work," the green haired girl complimented and swapped Momo for the parts with a fresh cup of tea.
"So," Momo began as Izumi fiddled with the parts, "just what was the point of all this?"
"Just thought it'd be fun to make something." Izumi replied, still focused on putting whatever this thing was together. Momo sighed at her friend's excuse but started thinking that the object was now looking familiar as it slowly came together,. "There," Izumi showed her triumphantly, "looks just about the same don't you think?"
"No way." Momo exclaimed quietly and darted her eyes back to the game on the television. She had paused it earlier by opening the inventory and she looked at one of the items, a glider that she had been having fun exploring with. A glider that now existed right next to her.
"You can do a lot if you look wherever you can Momo." Izumi revealed and Momo stared at the creation in awe, she had brought this thing into the real world. "Now then," Izumi stood up, "do you wanna help cook dinner or..." the greenette trailed off with a side eye.
Momo was still staring at the glider and the same feeling of when she had successfully made her first matryoshka doll washed over her.
"Can I keep playing?"
"Suit yourself."
Notes and Stuff
It's always a nice change of pace to write for Slice of Light. That being said there are its own difficulties like research and dialogue but one of the more prevalent things, which applies to If It All Breaks as well, is that since this has a referenced power from another character I don't want to feel too much like I'm copying things but both as a writer and I'd say for you readers is that we want moments that we can connect back to the source material and go "Ah it's like that moment that we all really like," which I hope I'm getting a decent balance of.
I kept Izumi's outfit relatively close to Kizaru's without the suit jacket and it just being a pinstripe suit that looked exactly like his, even if his suit is fire haha. I think for her winter outfit I can add the suit jacket and maybe some gloves but that's a while off still.
Moving on, Izumi will have no issues if I'm being honest. No extra emotional stuff or the restrictions I've written in my other stories because obviously the point for this is for her and Momo, though she needs to grow, to enjoy themselves. Of course there's some rules she has to follow but Izumi is pretty much peak OP in this story. Of course she'll still have her own POV eventually which will explain some of her thoughts but overall she's going through on easy mode.
If you know which glider Momo made then nice! Given Momo's quirk she should be able to recreate plenty of things that don't necessarily 'exist' in the real world by breaking things down and finding the needed parts or replacements and then doing some trial and error. I'm not smart enough to go full on in depth but I probably won't be getting really into that stuff since the story is a Slice of Life. Momo loves to learn and Izumi likes to enjoy things so I can see our greenette helping Momo find things she likes and or wants to try out.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
