Chapter 11!

Hey I updated! Not a batch update but I did throw something into the yuri anthology so feel free to give that a peep. I injured one of my fingers which has been a minor inconvenience but the main thing has been that my health declined quite a bit recently so I've been unable to write much at all. I should be much better going forward but I still want to be mindful so I'm taking it easier on things.

User/Reviewer Nathair1: Given the nature of the story I honestly can't give a definitive number of chapters before Momo and Izumi get together as the numbers would be subject to change depending on what ideas I get. They will eventually become an official couple and their parents really don't matter much at all here. Eventually we'll get to Eri but I don't have a grand plan for her or anything. There's a lot I have to consider because of how I changed Izumi's personality as well as the fic being a slice of life.

User/Reviewer yomunot: Thanks as always for your reviews and support! Momo working under a hero like Fatgum definitely just makes a lot of sense to me and should really help her get going.

User/Reviewer EndlessChains: I've really come to love writing Izumi without using her POV much or any at all, particularly with the more out there personalities. Character interactions are my favorite and I have a lot of fun just doing dialogue which works well for this being a slice of life. Thanks as always for your reviews.

User/Reviewer th tomiomanazo: Thanks for your support! I'm glad I could help in inspiring you a little and I'd love to checkout what you've written. I don't always have time to read fics between daily life and my own writing but when I do I'll make sure to keep my eye out.

To everyone who faved, followed, or reviewed thank you so much!

Enjoy, more notes at the end!

Chapter 11: Sunlight, Moonlight

*Momo POV*

"It doesn't rise faster even if you watch it," Momo heard Izumi poke in amusement as she passed behind her.

"But it grows so suddenly when I'm not watching," the creation girl replied, still focused on and watching while the bread was proofing.

"That's true too isn't it?" the light girl agreed, still shuffling about the kitchen leisurely while Momo leaned back in her seat at the table.

The creation girl often found herself at Izumi's home nowadays, the greenette generously hosting her each time, and Momo was able to work on all kinds of things whenever she was over. Hobbies, ideas, locations, Izumi was a great source of a plethora of information as well as a very effective teacher through her own roundabout methods. Even currently, Izumi was helping Momo learn to draw better here and there so that when the creation girl wanted to make something she could begin the rough start of blueprints herself.

"Are your next projects coming along well?" the light girl wondered, having noticed Momo staring upwards blankly and the creation girl's lips pursed a little as she mulled the question over momentarily.

"I want to make a mech," she stated plainly, studying the ceiling as if she'd find some sort of inspiration there and Izumi made an acknowledging hum despite the sudden, and somewhat strange, desire.

"You have been interested in more unique mid and long range items," the green haired girl reminded in justification and Momo nodded as she leaned forward and tapped a pencil against her open drafting notebook.

"Other than the light glove we had made I wanted to try other types of gear that had different utility," the creation girl explained, trying to twirl her pencil as Izumi set a cup of tea beside her, and her light friend took the seat across from her.

"Oh?" the greenette wondered curiously and Momo flipped through the pages of her notebook and held it up to show Izumi.

With the making of the glove support item, the creation girl had decided to look into more potential gear. While her quirk was able to create things to respond to most any situations, she figured that having some equipment that was on hand and ready to go would prove more efficient going into a scene because then she'd only have to make whatever else was called for. That in mind, Momo decided to try and create both a staff like item, since that was her go to creation of weapon, and something that could be a helpful tool with defensive properties. Therefore, she had ultimately landed on mech like technology to suit her purposes.

"They might seem a little out there but one idea I had was a sort of floating personal drone that can fire projectiles and can assist in other ways like helping you float down from things safely," Momo lectured, using the writing tool as a pointer as she moved it from part to part before swiftly flicking to another page. "Another idea was instead a type of armored suit that had things like a cable to grapple things or that can be used with weaponry all while having boosters to maneuver around!" the creator exclaimed in rising excitement while the light girl's green eyes studied the page from across the table.

"How interesting," the greenette complimented with a smile, Momo knowing she meant it, "do you want to make them?" Izumi asked and the black haired girl frowned a little as she turned the paper back to herself and looked down at the ideas.

"I'm still unsure how and I also need to pick out what I can really use from them," Momo reasoned, knowing that many of them came from bursts of inspiration and enjoyment as opposed to pure utility since she had simply gained a hobby in designing and creating support items.

"Was there one you didn't think you could use?" the greenette inquired further, taking a sip of her own tea while Momo flushed slightly.

"Um..." the creation girl stalled, her voice getting quieter and tinged with a touch of embarrassment, "a jet axe," she admitted and she heard the other girl hum.

"Scary," Izumi lightly teased in her standard fashion and the black haired girl nodded.

"I had already drafted it out by the time I realized there wasn't much use for it," Momo revealed with a sheepish laugh. "It was an interesting piece though," she sighed a little and Izumi just chuckled at her reaction.

It was true that Momo had no use for a number of the items she had recently drafted but a lot of them came with her block on what gadgets she could use. The creation girl was truly stuck at the moment and wanted some of Izumi's outside input if she had any that could spark up her imagination.

"Can you show me that thing again?" Momo asked and Izumi raised an eyebrow before an almost sly smile came across her lips.

"Are you sure you aren't just hungry?" she lightly poked though she was already getting up from her seat and Momo laughed briefly.

"Maybe a little," the creation girl admitted and the greenette signaled for her to come along.

Momo got up and stood beside Izumi as the greenette grabbed a pan and a few eggs, cracking and beating them quickly, as the oil heated. The light girl then added the eggs while taking her chopsticks and stirring them swiftly, pulling the outsides into the middle while making a circle around the pan. The movement, speed, and technique were slightly mesmerizing and the black haired girl studied the process closely before Izumi rolled and flipped the now formed omelette. With only a moment more, it was done and the greenette served it on top of shaped rice before slicing down the length of the oval shaped egg dish and letting it unfold.

"Food for thought," Izumi offered in amusement but Momo's mind was getting into gear.

"I think I've figured out a way to make it work," the creation girl realized, though still slightly unsure of the theory, and the light girl urged her back over to the table.

"Interesting inspiration," her green haired friend noted with a joking hum and Momo took up her pencil and replicated the movements she had seen.

Three outward points that spiraled into the middle and then formed together into a bigger part before being fired would probably work but she'd need to polish the idea up more and consider potential tweaks. Although, Momo's mind did track back to the thought of if she could use such a thing which only made her mind trail elsewhere altogether.

"Something else on your mind?" the light girl prodded a little, as always giving Momo the option even if she could easily tell, and the creation girl's eyes made their way back up to the ceiling.

"I suppose I'm still thinking about the incident back at the USJ," the black haired girl admitted, the event still on her mind despite how neatly it had been wrapped up, "I doubt that's the last time those villains will show up and if All Might was their goal then that means the school might be involved again."

"Hmm," Izumi thought from across the table, her thumb running along the side of her teacup and Momo silently watched to try and figure out what she was thinking. "So then we'd all be able to relax if they were caught soon," the greenette noted obviously, her mind probably wandering and her words only a touch playful.

"Well," the creation girl nodded, somewhat baffled by the given statement, "of course," she agreed and the light girl just sipped her tea.

"Hopefully it will be resolved soon then," Izumi said, smiling briefly before her expression went back to her natural peaceful look.

"Yes," the black haired girl agreed readily, "although we need to focus on the internships," she reminded since they were practically upon them.

The greenette gave a tilt of her head in acknowledgement and Momo finally set aside her notebook for her food. The two chatted for a moment until the light girl got up to refill their respective drinks and the creation girl perked up when she heard her friend begin humming a familiar tune.

"Izumi," Momo asked, peeking over as the greenette shifted her gaze back, "what is that song you always hum?" she asked curiously after having realized how often the light girl recited it.

"Oh?" the other girl replied with a thoughtful tone, "just a little tune I picked up in Tochigi prefecture years ago," she relayed with a gentle smile, the memory perhaps coming back to her mind.

"It's nice," Momo smiled, thinking about the calm feeling it gave, "I like it."

"I do too," Izumi agreed.

Momo pondered more about the tune and wondered what it meant to her friend, and if it was a full fledged song, since Izumi repeated it so often. Maybe she'd ask the light girl more about it later but her thoughts were interrupted as the greenette perked up.

"Oh, the bread rose," Izumi stated.

"What?!" Momo exclaimed, remembering what she had originally been preoccupied by.

"Perhaps we should have watched it," the light girl kidded playfully and the creation girl glared at her a little.

Momo just ate her frustrations and worries away while Izumi chuckled pleasantly.

*Endeavor POV*

"If you want to take care of something then it should be done immediately," the light girl hummed at the sight.

They had arrived in Hosu and immediately ran into the fray to find two creatures causing havoc amidst the flames and destruction so some of his sidekicks were preparing to move and processing how to best take action but Midoriya began glowing and not even Endeavor had a chance to start barking orders before she was gone. Many of the heroes on scene had probably blinked and missed what the light girl did but the two monsters' heads exploded almost simultaneously and the greenette was already back with those associated with the Flame Hero. The greenette had teleported to both the creatures and delivered each of them a lethal light speed kick before returning as if nothing had happened. The monsters both dropped, not a single hint of life left in them, while some of the other heroes were still left stunned or appearing sickly and Endeavor could hear Midoriya's voice pick up nonchalantly behind him.

"Maybe that was a bit much," she admitted with her unique inflections, making it unclear what she really thought, and only then did his sidekicks begin responding.

Endeavor had sent his offer to her both because she was stronger than Shouto, forcing him to acknowledge that only using half of his ability would never let him surpass her let alone All Might, and because the hero found her power to be intriguing. However, after spending some time with her and observing how other heroes like his sidekicks reacted to her, the flame hero knew for sure that he didn't quite like the unsettling enigma that she was. As the number two hero, Endeavor was easily able to figure out why she could set his sidekicks on edge but there was seemingly nothing that could be done about it.

Strictly speaking of her abilities, Midoriya had managed to keep up with him without issue, likely even much faster than him since the greenette was holding herself back just because, and nothing seemed to actually faze her be it physically or emotionally. Beyond that, the biggest thing that the red haired man had noted was her almost lack of regard in certain situation. It didn't bother him so much as it did his sidekicks but the other heroes seemed to worry about the light girl as if she was a risk. Midoriya near completely disregarded anything dangerous due to her quirk as well as having a lackadaisical sense to her when it came to how much force she was using against villains and criminals. For all those things however, it was quickly noticed that Midoriya was the type to receive commands and had a small penchant for fading into the background due to her subdued, yet still unique, personality.

Endeavor had no time to personally acknowledge the girl right now, there were still other places that needed him, so he continued on while leaving such things to his sidekicks. The flame man was certain that the Hero Killer was in Hosu and such a villain needed to be taken down. Endeavor did hear the light girl make a curious noise and seemingly mumble something but he paid no more attention to it.

With that, his mind refocused.

*Stain POV*

Truthfully, Stain had found himself in a greater predicament than he could have anticipated.

Even if Endeavor was a target of his purge, he couldn't dismiss the Flame Hero's level of threat and the interference of the flaming man had stopped him from finishing off his previous mark. Stain needed to regroup but he knew that the fake across from him wouldn't make such a task easy in the slightest. The heat alone was intense and the vicious attacks sent at him kept the bladed man at bay but while Stain was occupied by Endeavor, he still had the presence of mind to dodge the incoming object that was suddenly flung at him. Whatever it was, it slammed into the pavement of the alley with an explosion of dust and rubble as the ground cracked.

"What-" the villain and the hero both called out at the surprise interference but they both suddenly realized that it wasn't an object but a person.

The mist man from the bar was lying unconscious in a small crater and an almost disappointed but curious hum followed as the alley briefly lit up.

"Oh?" a voice called in soft, exaggerated, sarcasm, "I was hoping that would hit you," it revealed and a green haired girl appeared slightly off from both Endeavor and himself.

She had the decay villain on the ground, the young man evidently passed out, while her foot was square on his back and her eyes brushed over the situation from behind her sunglasses while she hummed. Her gaze wandered over to him and the blade wielding villain narrowed his eyes at her but the greenette made no change in expression and the newly arrived hero student's attitude made Stain bristle almost immediately. Her disregard of the situation and the manner in which she seemed to treat others, even if they were villains, almost disgusted him. Her actions more so reminded him of a villain so the fact that she was making her way about as a hero hopeful made the man's teeth clench.

Despite what he saw on first impression, she lacked a palpable air of superiority and appeared disinterested in the prospect of taking down villains that could easily boost her image. Was she actually a selfless hero who could control her emotions perfectly or a dangerous risk with a loose understanding of justice? Stain had no more time to ponder about the interfering girl as she began walking closer, her eyes not on him but the defeated warping man. Without hesitation, he shot his blade out to the side, positioning it to block her approach, but his grip tensed when the greenette walked through the blade without a single ounce of acknowledgment. Stain just couldn't get a read on the green haired girl.

"What do you think you're doing?" Endeavor called out to the lax girl, his flames flaring in anger, and the greenette tilted her head in thought.

"Well," the girl pondered, stepping over to the unconscious warping man to restrain him, "couldn't we just say that you beat them?" she posed to the disgruntled Flame Hero.

"Midoriya..." Endeavor growled almost threateningly but the girl went on unbothered.

"Shall I help here too?" she offered, her eyes closing as she gave a kind but somehow unsettling smile, and Stain made a change of plans.

The hero killer knew that this would be his best chance to escape so he swung at the girl with his blade as he made a dash, hoping to catch her by surprise and circumvent whatever her strange ability was, but once more it simply passed through her like nothing happened. Using all his strength, Stain made a beeline away from them and used the walls of the alley to try and escape to the roofs first but a burst of light zapped in front of him and the girl reappeared, practically floating upside down before him, as her leg was swinging down from above. Despite her eyes being below his, her expression was almost as if she was looking down upon him while her lips tugged a little in mock amusement.

"Too slow," she uttered with that soft sarcasm, "take a nice long rest."

Stain's consciousness left him instantly.

*Endeavor POV*

He had been wrapped up with media almost immediately but Endeavor could see his sidekicks lecturing the lackadaisical light girl.

No doubt they were informing her of her various wrongdoings and to keep certain things to herself if asked but it was clear that the greenette was quite fine with that. It was unlikely that the attempt of educating her would make an impact and only when her eyes wandered passed the sidekicks over to his did the Flame Hero's skin crawl momentarily.

Midoriya had put her hands up to her face and covered her mouth with them, her eyes never changing, and he couldn't tell what kind of expression she was making behind them.

Endeavor definitely didn't like this girl.

Notes and Stuff

I just want Momo to have all these cool gadgets and items.

The pod would be like the assistant pods in Nier: Automata.

The mech suit and staff/spear I specifically was referencing is Tekkaman Blade as I love the idea of Momo screaming "VOLTEKKA!" louder than Present Mic as she fires a laser beam. If I gave her a legit mech then it would absolutely be a Gundam though.

The jet axe is from Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and is used by Labrys.

The song that Izumi hums is called "YELLOW LIGHT" from the One Piece Nippon Judan! 47 Cruise CD. It's sung by Kizaru's original VA and references to Tochigi Prefecture.

Izumi covering her mouth is in reference to an official image of Kizaru in which two monkeys sit on his shoulders, one covering its ears and the other its eyes, while he covers his mouth. This is of course referencing "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil," of the Three Wise Monkeys.

Really kind of wanted to highlight how weird this Izumi is when not seen from Momo's eyes. She's kind of a social alien in a sense and really doesn't interact within the general norm with others. She is always at her own pace.

If you thought Shigaraki and Kurogiri getting folded was fast that's because it was. I didn't think a POV switch with a single sentence of how they got kicked in the back of their heads was needed.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
