Chapter 12!
I've realized I've been missing a little something in this fic that I wanted to highlight so hopefully this chapter covers for it. Single update but I'm working on hopefully updating a few other fics in the next few days.
User/Reviewer Nathair1: Thanks to the fic's genre I really get to focus on just Momo and Izumi stuff and how they bond together through their daily life. Yeah Endeavor's opinions don't matter here haha.
User/Reviewer cyde: I still think about that kick that Kizaru did to Apoo to this day. It has to be one of the coolest attacks for me so I couldn't wait to make Izumi use it.
User/Reviewer yomunot: Yeah Izumi's kind of a weirdo when not interacting with Momo and might even be seen as a lightweight sociopath with her seeming lack of conscience. I'm slowly going to add more and more gear for Momo to have fun with. Thanks as always for your reviews.
User/Reviewer th tomiomanazo: No worries! Good luck on the things you're working on and I'm glad you're enjoying my stuff and finding bits of inspiration. I guess some tips might be to not force yourself to write if things aren't quite coming together. Also don't be afraid of not writing things in order as long as you either reorganize them or properly fill in what goes on between events so things flow smoothly.
To everyone who faved, followed, or reviewed thank you so much!

Enjoy, more notes at the end!
Chapter 12: Light and Dark
*Momo POV*
"Did I come at a bad time?" a familiar voice called happily and Momo's head shot over to the side.
Izumi had entered the room and the creator blushed in embarrassment as she realized the state she was in. Momo had been wrapped up in her exercising, the time having slipped by her, and she forget that she had invited the light girl over to her house for once. The creation girl's hair was messy and she was sweating while dressed in just a sport's bra and her school gym pants as she stood over a tire in mid overhead sledgehammer swing.
"I'm so sorry Izumi!" Momo babbled in distress, "I lost track of time!" The black haired girl swiftly did her best to regain some semblance of composure before calling a worker over. "Someone will guide you to a room you can relax in while I quickly wash up," she offered and the green haired light user gave her an understanding look.
"Take your time," Izumi urged, no haste to her at all, "I'm told I'm patient," she joked and Momo thanked her before she was guided off.
The flustered girl took a moment to calm herself down before scrambling to clean herself up. In her haste though she forgot to even finish doing her hair or grabbing something other than lounge clothes prior to finding Izumi and leading her back to her room. The creation girl would have felt foolish if it was anyone except the light girl but she quickly settled in as the greenette pointed over to her desk. With a thankful grin and a dusting of pink on her cheeks, Momo sat down and flipped through the finished prototype blueprints while Izumi took a brush to her hair.
"I decided to go blunt with the jet weapon idea," Momo explained excitedly, flipping through the pages while her friend continued tending to her hair.
"So a hammer instead?" Izumi wondered with another stroke of the brush while Momo nodded timidly.
"I..." the creation girl muttered, twiddling her thumbs, "may have still made the axe too," she admitted with her green haired friend replying with her standard pleasant hum and low chuckle.
"I suppose that's where your workout comes in?" the greenette realized, taking the ribbon that Momo handed her, and the inventor nodded.
"Exactly," she confirmed, thinking about her solo ventures with her in testing gear. "I still can only barely lift them, let alone swing them, without using the mech suit," she listed out as she did her best to not move while Izumi finished tying her hair up. "It's not as if the hammer will be my only, or even main, weapon but I thought it would be better if I can still use it without assistance," Momo added on to her reasoning, "plus, being stronger seemed to only have positives when I thought about it."
"Good thinking," the greenette complimented before leaning to Momo's side to look at her. "I didn't realize you finished your suit so soon," Izumi followed up and the creator's eyes lit up a little at the topic.
"Oh right! I haven't even shown it to you yet!" Momo cheered while excitedly jumping up, "it's still only a prototype but I'm quite proud of it!" The black haired girl directed Izumi to take the vacant chair before pressing on, "do you mind if I show it to you now?" she asked before receiving a pleased smile.
"I can't wait," Izumi assured her and that was all Momo needed before she went of to grab her current big project.
"Just give me a moment," she grinned.

"How cool," Izumi commented, her eyes soft yet full of happiness, "can you tell me about it?" she urged and Momo walked around the suit to show off all its features.
"Of course," the black haired girl stated proudly while putting on the pair of glasses she wore at home. "I added boosters to maneuver and made sure the suit as a whole is quite strong both in terms of durability and power enhancement," Momo presented, pointing to each respective part and rotating it to better show off each side. "Naturally it also works well with the light glove we worked on," she assured, showing how their first support item fit in perfectly with the suit itself. "There's a laser beam and shoulder blasters," Momo illustrated, pointing to both the chest and parts of the shoulder plating that rose up, "and it can fire cables from the wrists to grab things plus I separately made a twin headed lance as another weapon."
Momo continued rattling off features, with Izumi asking a question or two here and there, until eventually she covered all the bases of what it had and what she was hoping to add to it in the future. The light girl had clearly been impressed, in her own unique Izumi way, and Momo felt her heart flutter a little from both how proud she was of herself and how proud Izumi was of her.
"Will you be adding any of them to your official gear yet?" the greenette curiously wondered but Momo shook her head negatively.
"Not quite yet," she admitted, still wanting to accomplish more with it first, "I'd like to polish the ideas up more and then of course I'll need to run it by the support department."
"One step at a time," Izumi nodded, the creation girl agreeing, before giving another soft gaze. "It's incredible Momo," the greenette warmly guaranteed and the creation girl nodded bashfully.
Momo was so happy.

*Shouto POV*
The return to school and their heroics class brought no comfort to Shouto.
He had been there at Hosu, saw what the light girl had done to those nomus, and it didn't take much to realize that she was responsible for beating the two villains from the USJ and the Hero Killer.
So when she was leisurely taking her time through the race exercise, only getting first by a slight margin and barely making use of her quirk, Shouto could only stand by in frustration. Was she meaning to mock everyone by barely putting forward the effort while still standing above them or was she actually ignorant of the fact? Midoriya had killed those nomus at the speed of light but as Shouto watched her glow with particles of light slowly moving around her he clenched his teeth. She was even stalling the use of her own quirk. Just how far would she go with this?
"You think you're that much better than us!" he heard Bakugo yell, his patience with the light girl spent, as she returned to the waiting students.
"Well," Midoriya said with a curious and slight tilt of her head as the angry blonde seethed. "Didn't I beat you twice already?" she asked, seeming to feign ignorance thanks to how she spoke, which only fanned the explosive boy's rage.
"I'll fucking destroy you next time!" Bakugo shouted in response, his aggravation coming out in loud huffs, and Midoriya stared at him blankly.
"Aren't you just being a yappy dog with a bark too big for its bite?" she wondered, instantly getting a reaction from the blonde, but Shouto took the opportunity to say his own piece.
"Holding back too much can be just as insulting," he directed to the light girl, her eyes wandering over to meet his, however his words had no effect on her outward appearance.
"Don't you think you can only hold back if you can afford to?" the light user posed back, obviously talking about the lack of using his fire and his loss to her, but the white and red haired boy wouldn't be rattled.
"You don't seem to take any of heroics here seriously," Shouto reprimanded, the other students seeming to be getting more uncomfortable as the confrontation dragged on, though Midoriya hummed while placing a studying gaze on the dual quirk user.
"If all you have is half your ability and complaints then you aren't going to be much of anything are you," the greenette commented, her eyes wandering away as if she saw all that she needed to, and Shouto narrowed his eyes at her.
"We'll see about that," the white and red haired boy insisted, intent on proving her words wrong, and Bakugo snorted at Midoriya's manners.
"You light bulb bitch," the blonde spat, his hands still ready to explode, but Midoriya wasn't intimidated in the slightest.
"As far as I can tell, I only see a reckless piece of crap and a half baked idiot," the light girl clearly stated for them while a minute and assured smile came to her lips.
There was a moment in which everyone absorbed what the greenette had just said before sparking pops sounded off. Unsurprisingly, Bakugo had had enough of her offhanded insults but the second that he moved one of his sparking hands he was on the ground and trying to push against the foot on his chest. None of the students realized what had happened save the current position and Midoriya hummed as she studied the blonde. The greenette then leaned down so her face was hovered above Bakugo's while she pressed a finger against his forehead all while that perpetual look was on her face.
"See, if I was a villain I could have killed you instantly," she taunted in that grating and slow manner of hers while Bakugo clenched his teeth and glared at her with murder in his eyes.
"Damn it..." the blonde ground out while Midoriya straightened back out and removed her foot from him.
"Although," the light girl stopped with a thoughtful noise, "if we both listened to each other then there should be no problem," she realized while everyone threw questioning gazes at one another.
"What are-" Shouto began though he was cut off as the greenette pointed back at the exercise ground.
"I believe it's my turn to race again," she noted with a soft smile of her eyes.

The start signal rang and didn't even finish before the green haired girl was standing next to their teacher. No matter how many more runs they did, if Midoriya was part of the group then the same thing would happen over and over. It would start and then end. Midoriya's demeanor didn't change but the atmosphere of the rest of the class had noticeably dropped since there was no longer a point if you were grouped with the greenette. The last run eventually came and had both Bakugo and Midoriya alongside himself and once more she finished instantly but not before teleporting to both boys and tapping their shoulders within seconds of them even starting. Shouto had shuddered at the touch and a cold sweat ran along his face but the light girl was already exiting the field within moments of her finishing. Eventually the other students and himself who had been in the final race finished themselves and returned to the main group and Midoriya's eyes traced from the dual quirked to the explosive boy.
"Satisfied you two?" she smiled softly, her relaxed nature again making him uncomfortable.
Neither he nor Bakugo answered her, the blonde seething to himself while Shouto simply held his tongue in his own quiet frustration. He couldn't accept it but he got the message loud and clear.
They shouldn't have even dreamed of competing against her.

*Momo POV*
Momo had watched silently and reminded herself of how fortunate she was to only ever be receiving Izumi's kindness.
For as kind as she could be, the light girl could be equally as cruel if she chose so. That side hadn't come up often and had been overshadowed mostly but what was the most prominent thing was the lack of change in Izumi's voice. Her tone and manner of speech hardly, if at all, changed despite her words and actions doing so and that only made when her sides flipped more obvious. The means in which the greenette put someone back into place was also mocking and sadistic in fashion. She would simply outdo you in everything, say a few words, and then watch as you were forced to realize your own incapabilities all while retaining her usual self.
Both Bakugo and Todoroki were left to reflect on their own weakness compared to Izumi and the rest of the students, save herself, were all uncomfortable from the exchanged words and following events. What Momo also realized was that Izumi didn't change because she had no emotion behind her mean side. The light girl didn't agree to their provocations because she was angry, that she wanted to look down on them, or because she wanted them to learn something. Izumi simply did it just because.
At least, that was how it appeared to Momo. The light girl was so unclear with any emotion besides simple surface happiness that it was impossible to actually know the depths of her character. Even more so, seeing Izumi more properly use her quirk was both mesmerizing and disheartening. There was absolutely no way that the greenette was anywhere close to trying hard which is what was so bothersome about it. The feats that Izumi could accomplish with probably less than half of what she could do while everyone was working hard really hammered home exactly what everyone had an issue with in regards to her. Almost all of them were put off by Izumi because she just appeared to be someone who had an incredible quirk.
The light girl was the same age as them but was far more laid back in everything she did and yet the greenette was untouchable for them. It was buried a little deeper for others but they might have at least felt jealous of Izumi once or twice for having such an easy looking life. Even the creation girl had felt that sting of emotions to her green haired friend before but she at least was close with the light girl who reassured her of her own abilities. Momo did suspect though that Izumi was also very well versed on the physical side of things but simply never needed to make use of that fact. Perhaps she would ask Izumi about that as well as if she had every had troubles with her quirk before.
Just what kinds of things would she uncover about Izumi this time?
-break-
"Hmm, troubles with my quirk?" the light girl thought aloud during dinner. "No, none at all," she answered with Momo staring listlessly back at her.
"Never even once?" the black haired girl asked incredulously while Izumi took a thinking pose and rubbed her chin.
"At least not that I can remember," the greenette supplied pleasantly.
"Really?" Momo pushed once more, still trying to comprehend things, as her friend just gave a nod and smile.
"I took to it quite naturally," she pointed out and Momo gave a sigh of disappointment.
"I'm unsure what I was expecting you to say," the creation girl mumbled, looking down and poking herself in the forehead, "I don't think anyone but you would have been able to harness your light quirk so easily."
The greenette offered her a warm look and the pair continued their usual meal at the light girl's house and made light talk of all sorts. It wasn't true to say that Izumi was perfect at everything but she certainly could take to things absurdly quickly and easily if she chose to. Then again, the creation girl also knew that there were things that the light girl was almost comically poor at. Izumi could easily distract herself with bouts of indecisiveness, therefore taking far more time to accomplish something, and it made for quite a sight when you got to see it in person and Momo giggled a little to herself at the memory of wandering about with her light friend.
"Have you thought of something amusing?" Izumi questioned her, her subtly playful tone coming up, and the black haired girl gave a slight nod.
"You get distracted very easily sometimes," Momo reminded her and Izumi made a noise of agreement.
"So I've heard," the greenette played back. "I went for a stroll and ended up in Fukuoka once," she told the creating girl simply but Momo gave her a stunned look and fished out her phone.
"Izumi," Momo nearly groaned in confused awe, "that's at least 160 hours of walking," she said, showing the directions from the light girl's house all the way there.
"I ate some delicious mentaiko as a reward," the greenette offered in consolation but Momo shook her head in disbelief while a semi-exasperated smile came to her face.
"Aren't you too bad about getting distracted?" she had to comment.
"It seems so," Izumi chuckled lightly and the soft amusement affected her too.
"What's up with that?" Momo laughed.
She liked Izumi perfectly fine the way she was.
Notes and Stuff
If you want to see Momo's mech suit then type in Tekkaman Blade Tatsunoko vs Capcom and go to images.
Mentaiko is spicy cod roe and is a famous dish in Fukuoka, Kyushu, which is 164 hours of walking from where Izumi lives, Gamagori, Ahichi
Now, what I felt was missing was Kizaru's, and this Izumi's, kind of crueler side. It can be missed a little easily with his usual personality but there are a number of small instances when he acts as quite the insurmountable obstacle with borderline mocking and playing with his opponent. That said, I wanted to bring that out a little more at least in this chapter.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
