Chapter 13
Beams of light streamed down hitting Hermione's face. Slowly she opened her caramel-colored eyes. She yawning she raised her arms to stretch. She slowly crawled out of her bed and began to get dressed.
Draco had kissed her yesterday. Yet he hadn't felt anything. I mean that is how he acted, but he never really did say that he didn't feel anything. Maybe she should ask him if he felt anything.
What was she thinking though? He probably didn't feel anything and she would probably make a fool of herself if she asked him. He would laugh mockingly at her. Why would he ever like Hermione Granger? Who was a mud blood no less.
Then again what did she have to lose? It she had been hurt before anyways.
She quickly made her way over to Draco's door and knocked lightly on it. She entered when she heard let out a sleepy groan, "Come in".
She walked in to see a yawning Draco with messed up hair. Blushing she noticed that he didn't have a shirt on. She stood awkwardly in the doorway trying to look anywhere but Draco.
"You can come in and sit down you know", Draco told her.
Sitting down on the edge of the bed she began, "I suppose you want to know why I am here?"
"Yeah, that would always be helpful", he smirked sarcastically.
His smirk did not help boost her confidence at all. It only made her more nervous than she already was. She was defiantly going to make a fool of herself.
"I... I was wondering if... if...", she stuttered.
"If what?", he asked one of his eyebrows rose slightly.
"Ifyoufeltanythingyesterday?", she blurted out.
"Huh?", he asked tilting his head to the side.
She took in a deep breath and closed her eyes preparing for the worst.
"If you felt anything during the kiss yesterday?" She muttered.
Slowly she opened her eyes to see what his reaction would be. He was defiantly shocked, but she had no idea what he was going to say.
"I did, but I didn't want to tell you. I know you probably didn't feel anything", he mumbled looking away.
"I felt something too. Something that I have never felt with anyone else. I...", she paused.
He looked at her amazed. They both had felt something.
"What does that make us? Is there an us?" Hermione asked looking into his eyes.
"I guess that makes us a couple, if you want to be my girlfriend that is", Draco said with a thoughtful look on his face.
"Yeah you want to try what we did yesterday again?", she grinned.
They both slowly leaned in for a kiss. No, it wasn't a kiss of pain this time. A kiss of healing, a kiss of a newfound love, and a kiss that would give them a chance. A chance to move on from their past heartbreaks.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
Hours later Hermione and Draco found themselves in the common room. Both were working on a transfiguration assignment. When they heard the familiar, tapping sound of an owl. Standing up Draco went over to the window and opened it. A cold blast of air slapped him in the face as the owl flew in.
It was a large brown owl with golden eyes. In its beak was letter addressed to Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy.
Draco opened the letter and began to read aloud.
Mr. Malfoy and Miss Granger,
I would like to inform you that you two are to plan the upcoming Christmas Ball. It is to be held on the 17th. You are to plan everything from the music to the decorations. Please send your plans to me a week before the ball (December 10th). That doesn't give you very much time so I suggest you begin your work now.
Sincerly,
Dumbledore
Sitting back down on the couch Draco looked at Hermione who was currently staring at him.
"So... what should we work on first?", Hermione asked.
"Well we need a theme; how about a masquerade?", Draco suggested.
"Okay and what kind of music?", Hermione asked as she began to make notes.
"How about a mix of wizard and muggle. I mean there are plenty of both bloods so... what?", He stopped as he saw the look on her face.
She had dropped her quill and her mouth was open slightly. Hermione was gaping at him.
"Mmmm... Muggle music? You... you... want muggle mmmm... music?", she stuttered.
"Yeah, I do. Just go with it", he said. (A/N 'just go with it' that is something I would say)
"Okay how about I pick out the muggle music and you can pick out the wizard music", Hermione suggested.
"Okay just don't pick out anything like Brittany Spears", he muttered.
"Ewww why would I ever listen to that slut? How do you even know about her?", Hermione spat disgusted.
"I don't know why you would want to listen to that slut and I have a friend that I met over the summer that introduced me to muggle music", Draco told her.
"Your father let you have a muggle friend?", Hermione asked.
"Well he never really found out", Draco explained.
So they continued making plans and ball grew closer and closer. The whole school was informed of the ball and excitement was in the air. Dress robes and gowns seemed to fly off the rack at the clothing stores in Hogsmead. Well if you used the summoning spell they literally did fly off the racks. Girls huddled around accessories and showed each other their purchases. Everyone had smiles on their face and everyone was in a good mood, even the Slytherins. Hogwarts was a very happy place to be indeed.
Who knew what the ball would bring? Who knew whom they would be dancing with? What new romances could occur and who would be wearing what? Who knew what could go right and what could go wrong? No one knew.
