Snape was shocked as Hermione, more than a head shorter than he was, grabbed his shoulders, shaking him, screaming, "How could you…How could you do it?"
He did not need her to elaborate.
"It is always easy to lie when you know you are trusted implicitly," he replied, shaking his head.
Hermione's eyes widened as her hands dropped to her sides. Snape turned and left her standing there, staring after him, still unsure of Snape's loyalties.
She wondered if he was referring to Voldemort or to Dumbledore. But she never got to ask him, as he no longer followed her.
