A Worry

Mika was speeding all the way to the hospital and was lucky not to have recved a ticket. The reason she did was not exactly clear even for herself.

' What did he mean "Eiri-san collapsed!"?' she wondered.

Mika had just been minding her own business when her cell phone rang. She didn't really want to answer it, but it rang and rang and rang. So eventually she answered the incessant call only to reveal that it was her husband who was almost incoherantly telling her that her something was very wrong with her brother and that was why she was in her car driving thirty miles per hour above the speed limit.

When Mika did finally reach the hospital she was out of breath even though she hadn't been running. However when she got inside the hospital she ran past the elevator and up the stairs to level 4, room 412 as Touna had told her.

Mika opened the door slightly, but was shocked to see Eiri up and typing on his laptop computer. She entered quietly and sighed.

" Where's Touma?"

Eiri smiked, but kept typing. " Don't worry. He didn't pass out from shock. He's at the cafe downstairs...making phone calls...I think. I bet he's also is gonna try and get me to eat something."

" Is that an unreasonable request?" Mika retorted.

" You always take his side..." the novelist said not looking up.

" I'd take your side if it was reasonable!" she snapped.

"I...I...you..." but Eiri didn't get to finish stuttering because the door was flung open by a certain keyboardist.

" Eiri-san!"

Seguchi walked up and swipped away his computer.

" Rest!" he said "What you need is food and rest."

Mika could see her brother trying to fight helplessly against her husband.

" No, what I need is alcohol and cigarettes."

" Eiri-san...really try to understand that..." just then he noticed Mika " Mika-san...darling...what are you doing here? Wait...I called you, didn't I?"

Mika felt a pang of pity when she saw her husband's eyes were red from crying and she forgave him for that last comment.

However, she was still pissed that Touma had commercialized Eiri's love life and for that he would pay. She had to tell him.

" Explain something to me, Touma. With the backing of N-G Productions..."

Author's comments: Yes, the ending is out of book 7. This idea has been sitting in the back of my mind for a while. Review when you find the energy.
